Great video! Had the same error and went to check my fuse but was bummed when it wasn’t blown. Ended up being the switch on my brake, pretty easy fix to just swap a new switch in. I have a 2023 Tacoma SR 4x4 with less than 2k miles on it. Had the Brake Override Malfunction Error, the truck barely moved in driveway. Had it towed to Toyota dealer. After 2 days they claimed they fixed it after replacing a fuse, went to pick it up and as I waited for service guy to pull truck up to me the error activated again as he started it up. Left truck for another 5 days. Dealer claimed they had someone from corporate Toyota show up to help them because they could not figure out the issue. They ended up replacing the throttle body. So far so good. I will say prior to me getting the brake override malfunction error, the truck was idling a little high and the RPM's would pulse up and down a little high while in park...then into drive at idle speed. Also, recently prior to getting the brake override malfunction error I had happen one time where I was driving at slow speed maybe around 30-40mph and when I went to to give some throttle to speed up for a split second there was no response in throttle at all then it kicked in, was a very short of no response to stepping on the throttle. I was going to take the truck into the dealer for those issues but shortly after I got the brake override malfunction error. At the end of the day I now believe the problem was the throttle body due to the events that led to getting the final death blow error. I hope this can help someone who perhaps checked all the other things that could possibly give the brake override malfunction error.

Wow, so far it sounds like this error can be triggered by various things. Looks like there’s some wiring shortage somewhere. I’m glad they were able to figure yours out and I hope the solution is permanent. Thanks for sharing your experience staticckay, I’m sure this will be very helpful to my followers. I saw one of your videos from black lake loop. Wondering if water got into the cab after crossing that deep water?
@@modXELA No sir no water got into my truck but the landcruiser got stuck there a while and water did get into the back trunk area but not much just enough to dampen the carpet.
@@farookismail6470 thanks, that’s good to know… I can confidently cross that level of water now… IF I come across some!
I am stuck with only some WiFi...can't watch video. Can someone please comment what I need to do? Waiting on tow truck out in the middle of nowhere.
Replace the fuse 15a
Under the hood, marked STP
FYI this also works on 5th gen 4runner! I just did it on mine!
Hey that's good to know DonJulio, thanks for sharing!
@@modXELAdid you ever figure out what cause that fused to burn? Mines burn the next day again and I assume its my aftermarket LED tallights.
@everyone what steps to take? I can't play the video
Change 15A fuse labeled as STP under the hood (assuming that it’s busted)
If its not the fuse you can also reset it by restarting your truck 6-10 times.
thanks for the share!

Even though this electrical failure was staged, rehearsed and orchestrated as actual, it might be helpful if someone feels compelled to be that duck with the broken wing.
