      @@DonJulio510 no. I think it was depressing the gas pedal and brake at the same time for me. It happened when I was unloading my gear and I threw my tool bag with my 1/2” impact gun in it and hit the 2 pedals at the same time.

    Thank you for sharing. That light has came on for me while going down the road twice now. It slows me down so I can't go over about 50-55mph. First time I was an hour from home. Disconnected the battery for a while, reconnected and was fine for several months. Second time was a few days ago. I made it home driving really slow, started up the next day just fine with no break override malfunction, but now I have a check engine light on.

      I haven't had a chance to take it in. (Luckily, I have a corolla for a work commuter) I checked my fuses, and they are good. I have a pedal commander installed that I literally just took off about 5 minutes ago. Removing the pedal commander took off the check engine light. I'm going to run it without and see if that was the issue. Hopefully, the light stays off, and the break override doesn't come back

    I have a 2023 Tacoma SR 4x4 with less than 2k miles on it. Had the Brake Override Malfunction Error, the truck barely moved in driveway. Had it towed to Toyota dealer. After 2 days they claimed they fixed it after replacing a fuse, went to pick it up and as I waited for service guy to pull truck up to me the error activated again as he started it up. Left truck for another 5 days. Dealer claimed they had someone from corporate Toyota show up to help them because they could not figure out the issue. They ended up replacing the throttle body. So far so good. I will say prior to me getting the brake override malfunction error, the truck was idling a little high and the RPM's would pulse up and down a little high while in park...then into drive at idle speed. Also, recently prior to getting the brake override malfunction error I had happen one time where I was driving at slow speed maybe around 30-40mph and when I went to to give some throttle to speed up for a split second there was no response in throttle at all then it kicked in, was a very short of no response to stepping on the throttle. I was going to take the truck into the dealer for those issues but shortly after I got the brake override malfunction error. At the end of the day I now believe the problem was the throttle body due to the events that led to getting the final death blow error. I hope this can help someone who perhaps checked all the other things that could possibly give the brake override malfunction error.

    I might have missed it but how did you figure that it was a fuse? Also, I wonder what caused it to blow?

    • @modXELA
      @modXELA  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Davidr... it's either electrical or mechanical. Considering where I was and no clue on why and how, checking fuses was my best easy bet and it paid out. From a few quick reads, apparently this usually happens when you step on both the brake and gas pedals simultaneously but it can only happen when the vehicle is in motion. When we got to the campsite on the prior day, I tossed a heavy tool bag into that area so it may have hit the 2 pedals but it still doesn't make sense as the truck was not on. At any rate, thanks for tuning in!
