I Carved a Flashy 5lb Block of LABRADORITE into a Horned OWL for The Makers Challenge!

- In this one it is our turn for The Maker's Challenge! I felt like doing something a bit more adventurous, so I decided to go crazy! We took a five pound block of high flash labradorite and craved it into a great horned owl. This one was a lot of fun and undoubtedly our most challenging project yet, and at over 200 hours has to be our longest project to date! Don't forget to call that number and get a Rock Walker TM for yourself while supplies last! Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this video, but more so I hope you all loved this year's fantastic Maker's Challenge. That owl was amazing! Every creator did the most amazing projects and it was all because of you! You have created a way for all these other channels to become known and shine under your light, and every single project was amazing. What an awesome week and your beautiful owl was the feather in the cap!
you went all the way with this ! love the feather work, I backed out of putting scales on my thing cause I didn't have the time for buffing each overlap, so I can see the labor of love in this ! with the line work details on each one, ... crazy ! and the stone itself , the blue of the neck and gold of the face, only moonstone could have all that, its my birthstone so i'm a bit partial to lab. The commercial had me cracking up! i'm contacting my legislature for my rock walker right after this ! this was a fun and now, nostalgic, week for me, time flies , cant believe we've all been doing this for a while now, and just thank you again for creating a time and place where people can come together and share and grow. these are some good memories for sure, I enjoyed every video and project again this year and just strait up honored to know you all! have fun down in the sunshine for sure, watch out for the last Dinos ( gators ) and find us some awesome agate coral !

Theo, your talent with this owl is very impressive and I think that is understating it. Just incredulous that you could carve that owl out of that chunk of rock and finish and polish it. The end product is a work of art. The time, patience and vision to finish this is a credit to you. The flashes of colour on its wings and face remind me of what we do actually see on some bird species in nature, I’m not sure if that was your intention but it’s a bonus on this carving. It was a great week of viewing the maker’s challenge videos. So much creativity and talent in the ROCK world! Theo, your project, in my opinion is the absolute best. I love owls, the labradorite you chose was exceptional and your skills are master class!!! Just amazing!

That was an absolutely beautiful carving Theo!!! You definitely have some amazing patience to do such fine detail. Having done woodcarving, I am so impressed!!! Your proportions are spot on! Some of your earlier rock carving vids have made me want to try rock carving but I haven’t taken that leap yet. Repeat viewing of this project may be the push I need. Awesome! Just plain awesome!

That labradorite really makes the owl come to life. As you spin it you can see the gorgeous colors of the labradorite as you would on a real owls feathers. You really thought out this concept for a long time. Well done sir honestly the others are gonna need to step up to the plate to beat that.
