    Hands down the best dremel powercarving tutorial for beginners. Idk why but compared to others out there, you really make something seemingly daunting into a very simple, step-by-step process.Thank you! I think this will be a christmas gift this year :)

    I used to carve alot of wizards, native Americans, old men ect about 12 inch tall but I cheated and roughed them in with a bandsaw after blistering my hands on the first couple, back then there was no dremels, I used a utility knife small files and sandpaper but I just bought a new dremel with about every attachment available, I just cleaned up a long piece of driftwood for a walking stick I’m going to carve multiple figures down the whole length except handle.

    I'm new to Dremels, but this thing has been great. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR The variable speed is awesome and the cordless aspect makes it so easy to work with. I am constantly finding uses for it that make tasks easier. Recently I put in a new deadbolt on one of our doors. I knew I had to enlarge the hold where the deadbolt goes into the door frame. At first I thought I would have to get a big router and figure out how to use it for that, but then I rermembered we have the dremel. I was able to enlarge the hole almost as easy as if I was drawing with a pen. It's also great for grinding our dog's nails done and so many other household tasks.

    • @LogsCarvingClub
      @LogsCarvingClub  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Matsersuperkul Maybe a mix of both. I try not to put too much pressure, keep it around a 45 degree angle, and do many shallow passes. Some very hard woods though are just not worth trying, and even tough ones I can cut like hard maple take a long time which I mostly edit out of the videos for the sake of time

    I know it's 4 months later, but you mentioned about getting an angle grinder. I don't know if you went and got one yet but all I can say is be careful because those things are hella dangerous. Angle Grinders are useful, but there's some discs/attachments out there that definitely should NOT be made/sold legally.
    In other news, just found your channel/video today. Pretty neat! I was using a dremel to sand down some spots on reindeer that I made on the bandsaw and got to wondering if one could carve something out of wood using a dremel. Didn't see why not! And wouldn't you know, somebody has a youtube channel doing it.

      Thank you for the advice! I haven’t gotten one yet. Might try over the summer with a kutzall shaping dish

      @@LogsCarvingClub nice! Blacktail Studios does some carving and uses some pretty snazzy ones. Might be worth giving him a look to see what he uses. I think the video with the table he made for a giveaway he talked about them a little.

    That’s SO COOL… the Dremel was the first tool I bought myself as an “adult” when my wife and I bought our first house. I didn’t find it as handy as social media proclaimed it to be…. 5 years later I’ve gotten into woodworking and it seems like I was trying to use it wrong. Would love to give something like this a try…. Subscribed!
