- When I first heard this song, I was immediately struck by how incredibly well written it is and how many different elements and techniques it contains. Techniques that I don't consider to be my strong ones, so why not give it a try? :D
I started practicing the song in December 2021 and have since been practicing it on and off with a longer break for the Meshuggah covers I did during the spring. After countless hours I was able to finish this cover.
One thing that is certain is that I have become much better at tapping and will continue to practice mainly the intro but also try to write and learn other pieces with similar techniques.

Dude this looks really hard. Even your right hand tapping differs, because the use of the pick is leveling up the bar of the difficult in this song. You had a lot of work to put this together, I’m amazed by your skills. You gave me some inspiration to come back and study more with a pick. Great job! Cheers!

Sweet cover! It's probably one of the more difficult songs out there on bass, period.
Noticing you have a pick, unlike Jared, which is perfectly reasonable given what the song is like - have you considered one of those that you slip on your thumb (saves you having to hold it the entire time), as to free up your index and more comfortably switch between techniques? The tapping sections are probably even more hellish without proper access to all your fingers

@@DannyJ_bass Thanks for the response! And, yeah, I get that feeling. I've been playing around with trying to make switching techniques more accessible, as of late, and this is what I've had the most luck with, I partly wondered if anyone else has considered something like it

Sucks that I'm listening to this on a cell phone right now. Lot of inharmonic content in the high mid-range. Mainly the picking noise. Gonna listen to this on a decent set of speakers when I get the chance.
Finally a video of the song where I can see what's being played. I have the sheet music but it's hard to make out the fingerings lol.
Tone is kinda weird imo but still insanely well played
Which part do you have issues with finger placement? I've heard this from a couple of others but thought it fell out pretty naturally for me.

nice ! how is the action on the bass ? no fret buzz or anything ? It look pretty low I have hard times setup my NG3
Thanks! My bass is intoned and adjusted thoroughly by a very good bass builder because it can not buzz or rattle from any strings at the same time as the action must be super low. If it rattles or buzz, my tone won't work as the compressor will amplify the rattle and it will sound rubbish :D
@@DannyJ_bass Yeah sure ! Maybe will see someone who can do it properly, how much millimeter have you between the B strings and the 12th fret approximatively ? :O
@@DannyJ_bass Can you tell you compressor settings too ? Ratio Maybe and Maybe you use an HPF on the compressor?
