I rewatched the first 20 seconds of the video on mute and thought Davie504 had kidnapped Charles' parents and was demanding a ransom.
There is something insanely unnerving about seeing an instrument being played but not hearing any noise.
If it's an instrument you know well, you'll be hearing plenty of stuff :D
Especially true when the instrument is being played by davie’s long skinny E.T. fingers.

Guitarist here too, but I must say that bass is waaay cooler than guitar. Especially in ska and and stuff like that

Runaway by Jamiroquai didn't sound right here but it's an absolutely epic bassline played by Ian Turner.
I'm really suprised that Charles says he doesn't know many Jamiroquai tracks with them being such a bass driven band from the Stuart Zender days. I'd have thought most bass players would be upon Jamiroquai

Both you and Davie504 Crack me up. I found your channel sometime before his and was entertained by both your talent and humor. So the two of you go well together playing off each another's comedic ways. Keep up the good work.
In a way, Davie actually inspired Charles to run his TH-cam channel. Charles was the "pro" in every davie504's fiver related videos (where Davie challenges random fiver bassists to make tough baselines), and he got the well deserved fame after Davie challenged him in a base battle. Good times.
This is so fun. I love how you and Davie find the silliest ideas to poke at each other's channel.

Lol the first 6 ones are propably also the first ones that any bassits wants to learn. The later 4 are usually the ones where beginners start to struggle and Nr. 11 is the one where they start questioning their life choices! XD

Got the first 2 and the 4th one, maybe one later as well but forgot, I definitely didn't realise for whom the bell tools was played that high up on the neck
Challenge: come up with a baseline you like that, with the same fingering in a "radically different" alternate tuning, is still musically pleasing. "Radically different" means at least two used strings are retuned by a different number of half steps.
I love you and Davie competitions - you are both so talented - though for cuteness and talent neither of you can hold a candle to EllenPlaysBass as the sheer joy of playing comes through in her face and smile. You are all amazing and I appreciate your sharing your talents with us all... I truly enjoy taking a break from life.

As a keyboard player on the bass players stage side, I'm often watching his fret playing to check myself, especially when I'm first learning an arrangement. I actually guessed a couple right even though I don't play any of those songs. Very cool exercise, especially when playing live and your monitor mix isn't perfect, it really helps to know other instruments. :)

Davie got mad skills but Charles is next level, as in he’s in the stratosphere. Charles has to be one if not the absolute best bass players out there
I don't even think the most impressive part of his playing is his technical skill, though he's certainly amongst the very best. For me, the part of his bass playing that is so hands down better than just about everyone else I've ever seen is his sense of melody. He does insane technical double tapping stuff, but it's the melodic and musical aspects that result from those skills that impresses me even more.
I'd have to disagree. While Charles is an excellent bass player he's more like the thunder in the sky that announces his presence, while Davie is more like the earthquake shaking the ground demanding it. It's the difference between a tapper and a slapper, they both rock
