I never really built up tractor/truck infrastructure because it was always so tedious setting up roads, fuel, and routes. Then seeing your tutorial and building curved roads and blue printing them, I did the same and now it is so much less of a chore!
Hey Doc! Been seeing a lot of your shorts since me and my friends picked up Satisfactory. You've been an immense help with your content and I'm super delighted to discover that you have some more long form stuff as well! Can't wait to dig in. Thanks for all of the awesome stuff and keep at it ♥
The music in this game is just the best. one of the things that drew me there in the first place. I bought the 2 CD final soundtrack, and synced it to all devices, use it for daily work, programming, just getting around town.
Been loving the shorts videos I've seen on tips and tricks, quite enjoyable. But there's one thing i am curious about. How would someone typically deal with storage. Would you just split off a little bit from production line and feed into storage, then once that is full, then it will run normally for the further products downstream, or would you create a whole separate line just for storage? For example the steel beams is used for production of encased beams (with no alternate recipes) ( and i guess also used for versataile framework if we think of both), so do you just send beams for the encased beams but split of a little bit to send into storage, or how do you deal with all that, especially as you unlock more stuff which relies on previous parts? Because i am thinking just split off into storage even though it is going to other machines for other parts downstream, because once storage is full it will work as normal and you typically dont use storage that much. This is what has had me stumped, this whole organizing of storage and also needed for other parts downstream. :D
Nice video, and some good fun! Did you know you can press CTRL while dismantle to remove stuff in bulk? You can also filter dismantle by pressing G and point to an item to only remove those certain items while in bulk mode. That way you can remove stuff much more efficiently.
I knew about the mass dismantle, but the G key is new! I don't usually bulk dismantle because it's easy to hit things you don't want to. So that really help. Thanks!
You may have covered it already, but I don't recall seeing it in the video, how are you keeping coal in all your truck stops and yet keep everything so neat? Do you have a stop next to the others that intakes coal and splits to the others?
Do you ever have issues with the trucks and their paths overlapping? I heard there was a lot of potential for vehicle AI to crash vehicles when they aren't isolated
I ran quite a few trucks on the same path (provided they stick to their sides of the road) in very old versions of the game with little to no issues. Make sure the way they drive off and onto the roads won't fight other paths and you'll be good. My stops were basically in the shape of an H where you drive on right, turn left into stations of choice, then left again to return to road. Less chance of crashing than having to cross the road like the stop off to the side. That being said they still aren't perfect and I'd rather invest all the effort of making roads into trains instead. It's arguably much easier and absolutely more efficient. No fuel concerns like you have for trucks.
I noticed that the new windows do not seem to support overlapping walls like some of the other windows, limiting what you can do with them. I like to overlay walls on windows to do different window shapes, but the new octagon windows don't seem to allow for it.
My thought is that conveyor belts would be better/faster/cheaper in almost all situations. Am I wrong about this? (But it does look like fun!) or is this for the challenge, or because you can?
Hey Doc, I like your Videos. Which Songs are you using in you videos? They have a great vibe :) Maybe you can write them in your video description. Thanks and ceep the factory going. Kind regards from Germany.
By far my favorite channel on Satisfactory.
What a compliment! Thanks!
"I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite Satisfactory channel on the Citadel."
So satisfying to see scalable truck routes going in. That's a level up!
Definitely! Using the blueprinter to make it look good has also made a huge difference. Practically transformed the base in just one episode.
2:30 now I want buildable table and chairs
Agreed!
hey doc
just started watching your shorts and livestreams..
gotta say
even tho i cant play the game
i still learnt a lot from these things
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy.

Props, you got run over by the tractor and didn't spiil a drop of coffee.
Always save the drink first!
10:42 You didn't let it finish unloading!

Not the o’l break check at the turn 😂😂 wasn’t even fair 😅 8:35

Working on phase 3 as well. The amount of resources needed is massive
Who is editing the videos? Great work!
Love the videos doc, keep giving me design inspiration
Glad you like them!

I love this channel keep it up! I cant wait to see late game!
I'm having issues with my trucks wanting to stop at other truck stations that I didnt tell it to stop at.
Please someone tell him about mass dismantle

You are correct.

It moves so much more items than a typical conveyor belt if you set it up correctly. (It also looks fancy)
So major question. Modular or Mega factories?
I love mega factories. But there is something about a modular factory that can be built and completed for a specific purpose.
This looks amazing
Thanks!
Hope you don't want to delete the truck later.. cuz the name tag will stay on map. Its a bug with train truck stops at min if BP them

Sure, I can do that. All of my music is straight from Satisfactory! I turn off the music in-game and re-add it in post.
