Hybrid is the easiest. Establish a core factory next to the space elevator and produce core items. Use trains to bring in additional resources or preassembled parts from sattelite plants. And as always, place nuclear plants and fuel production as far away from everything as possible.

I usually end up with a hybrid of the two. Several modular factories suppling 2-3 mega factories.

By this definition, I've made like, three modular factories. I just finished building a skeleton of an idea for the oil in the northwestern beaches to use polymer from making heavy oil to produce plastic, rubber, and fabric, and many products made with those items. Just need to import caterium, copper, and iron.

Semi-modular for myself. I have a main project assembly building where it's only project parts, an electronics building, a basic parts building, etc. The only thing that's self contained mega is the power plant. Everything that is needed to make nuclear fuel is made on site so that if I trip the breaker the power plant won't be short on fuel after fixing the issue.

There's also a hybrid approach. I built a mega base with many towers designed to be vertically scalable, each dedicated to a specific product. If I need more rods, say, just plop another floor onto the tower. The tricky part of this approach is managing the transportation logistics. I ended up with a pretty substantial array of belts.

My world had modulars. Then once we hit phase 4, we tore down all our smaller modulars, took the Crater in the NE part of the desert, and made a mega for all non-oil P1-3 parts. Never had to worry about the DD running dry for those ever again. Yes, did it with the single veins in that crater, and the nearby veins of quartz, coal (1 of the 3), and caterium

God I love you! I've had to rebuild my factories multiple times. And each time they get better, but, every new item or upgrade and I have to go down the chain and fix old designs with new knowledge

My first factory was modular. Gather the available resourcesin a close area, and see what and how many resources you can make. Then ship that to a main hub of sorts

That mega factory is the factory of my dreams. I wish I had the time/patience to make something so beautiful.

My first two attempts at iron processing used load balancers and zero underclocking (hadn't unlocked it). It was impossible to expand. Yesterday I bit the bullet and rebuilt my entire factory with manifolds this time and oh wow it's so much better... I probably should build more than one smart plating assembler, but something tells me it'll take me 8h to rebuild my steel, copper and stone production anyway, hahaha.

Does the pressure reset if i put a buffer somewhere in the system?

On phase 5 now and I still don't understand valves... which side is which? Like does the green arrow point towards the limited pipe or the unrestricted one?

PRO TIP: press the little cog icon next to the station when setting up a train route, there you will be able select “load/unload only X”. You can select as many items as you want. This makes mixing trains and stations super easy!!

I just build an extra device and underclock all of them to the right amount... kinda saves on a bit of power and I can still divide things evenly.

I think fluids have messed with me more than anything else in the game.

I saw somebody pre-charge their manifold lines by placing a stack of the input material into the machine before turning on the factory. Seems tedious, but I can see how this could save a lot of time.

Thoughts on setting up a large container buffer at the entrance of each train loading platform- then have two belts loading the train and the container can buffer while the input pauses during loading. Small impact, but easy win

I wonder why you didnt set up a big rocket fuel plant in the blue crater: you got everything there which you need, and yet you send the sulfur elsewhere

Diluted fuel alternate recipe helps a lot. Before making turbofuel it takes heavy oil residue and water and turns it into fuel using blenders if you have them unlocked. My first real power plant used a pure node and ran 40 generators on fuel alone. My next power plant will use this recipe to make turbofuel.

Good job. Well, another way to get power is ground heat, can try to get all if possible, then focus on Turbo Fuel. Well, so far I'm trying more battle in Satisfactory, to Rebar gun, can use 3 Rebar gun, 2 with Shatter rebar, 1 with Explosive rebar, can attack with first shatter rebar gun, then use wheel quick switch and fire second shatter rebar gun, then another way to use Rebar gun is fire and reload at same time, with this can make Rebar gun reach max fire rate.

Dude stands by the 2 geothermal nodes just by the sulfur miners. And panicked about what to do to restore the power. Building those 2 geothermal plants would probably generate over 500MW of power. And there are multiple more in that area to the West. Easily obtainable huge amount of power with only a few parts. Effortlessly.
