Thank you Robert Deptula. Very informative and useful. I have a 1992 Volvo 960 and I want to upgrade to a better sound system too. I have all the same connectors in my car as yours and this really helps me a lot. Thank you so very much!!
Hi - does anyone have a specific link to the DIN speaker plug? I bought one on crutchfield that plugged perfectly but did not work. Thanks for the vid!!
I have a 1990 Volvo 760GLE. It only has a 6 speaker system, 2 on the dash top, 2 on the front doors and 2 on the rear doors. I have completely removed the Power Amplifier and plan to use it for another project in my home. I also plan to remove the 2 front door speakers to use with my project. (The Sanyo radio that I got from Crutchfield years ago only supported 4 speakers.) I do not have a schematic diagram. I hope I can glean from your 940 diagram and hoping that Volvo followed a similar wiring convention. This Amplifier is Labeled:" VOLVO 1384914-4969 Japan 9011". I am questioning as to how this works,: A 12volt signal when applied to the middle pin 6 of the DIN plug will signal the Amplifier to turn on. (Amplifier power being always present on pins 11 and 4 of the flat connector designated as 16/2. And I would imaging that pins 1,3,4 and 5 on the DIN connector are for Right and Left audio channel input to the Amplifier. Your comments I will appreciate, Thanks.
@@robertdeptula2003 I see, my Cr-184 radio trim does not come apart like the Cr-718, so I am stuck with a bit less attractive adapter plate. Thank you for the clarification.

I don't have any other diagram besides the one in the video.
For the amplifier plug adapter there are four rca plugs and six points on the adapter. How does this work?
At 5:58 you have all connections provided for the plug.
By any chance, do you remember where you got the trim around the radio? Thanks.
I used the trim that was already there from the Volvo CR-718 radio.

Try junkyards, it should cost less than universal trims that are usually more expensive than the radio itself.
Good luck!
Robert, where did you find the amplifier signal to RCA adapter cable
abra-electronics.com/ but I went there in person.
@@robertdeptula2003 thank you! I was able to find it on eBay by changing the terms used for search.
@@ChristopherBurtraw Please let me know what you typed in to find the plug on ebay and did it work ? thanks
