What components do you guys think are essential to a 2 stroke build?

    • @cwtoyota
      @cwtoyota 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

Essentials are head mods, jetting and race gas.
Bill Cervera makes the best YZ250 and YZ125 pipes on the market. I've ripped a bunch of holeshots on my 250 with Bill's and a VF3 Reed.

@@whiskeythrottlemedia aluminum rear sprocket, v force, twin air, motul 800 40:1 with 110 race gas. Most importantly, a keihin air striker with the STIC.

@@whiskeythrottlemedia in my humble experience and at my size, suspension!!!
Then, an exhaust matched with a smart carb was absolutely insane..
Too bad I wasted all that time and money on an Austrian two stroke lol

      1. Mitch’s PC pipes, (or Bills)
      2. Vforce 3.
      3. Quality fuel.
      4. Cylinder and head mod (PC), and a quality forged piston with less chance to seize.
      5. Hinson full clutch.
      6. Simple suspension mods to each preferencials including bars and grips.
Further, that would be black box and true balance of the crank stronger rod wich actually was a deal from a solid piston company who unfortunately discontinued those rods . Also micro polish or coating of the transmission, better quality D.I.D chain or RK, boyesen water cooler better oil in the tranny.
Over the top money mods just because if it there was unlimited budget would be stronger better cooling radiators, ceramic bearings, and match the case, aftermarket hubs with excel rims and stronger spokes.

Man could not make my mind up had to buy both yz250 2 smoke and a yz250f. I can’t go out in the garage without a big smile on my face. I grew up really poor with a single mom. I only dreamed of having a dirt bike. Now after a lot of hard work and being in my forty’s I can relive my childhood. What oil mix are you running in the 2 stroke

It’s really hard to pick if you’re just riding for fun and are an old soul like me I would say the yz250 2 stroke. Parts are everywhere and it’s an affordable bike to own plus the 24 does seem definitely different with the power band it’s more like a 4 stroke like the video states. Also pretty fun to ride without having so much engine braken going into corners. If you’re racing and competing and really need a bunch of torque than Mybe the yz250f. There both amazing bike I do find myself putting a leg on the yz250 quite a bit

On these new gen YZ 2 strokes, I would recommend softer seat foam and a cover with more grip. Replacing stock with a Guts seat made a big difference in comfort and cornering on my 125.

Love my 50th anniversary YZ250! Why the V force Reed block over the Boysen Rad valve? What is the difference? I have everything done but that. Awesome bike, long live the 2 stroke.

V-Force is slightly better from low to mid throttle.
Boyesen Rad valve is slightly better from mid to full throttle.

Should look at HITLIS system for the YZ. It's a great setup that doesn't break the bank and it actually adds overrev to the bike. Helps with larger jumps and holeshots

Yamaha doesn't make two strokes anymore with the # 1 objective being to win races . Back in the day Yamaha and other manufacturers updated their two strokes every year in an attempt to outdo the other. The reason Yamaha continues to offer two stroke YZ's these days is to just allow people to experience two stroke bikes like in years past while providing long term parts availability by not making constant changes year in year out .
