I’m one of those guys that haven’t ridden off-road since the early 90’s my last MX race was about 1985 and then last year on a whim I raced 2 moto’s I borrow a bike, I finished both motors dead last, but was smiling from ear to ear. Last month I bought 2001 RM 250 and have been going to our local MX park and practicing. The really cool part is I’m out there with my son and my two granddaughters so there’s three generations out there enjoying life on a bike!!! In December I’ll turn 64.

I'm a 54 year old Texas boy from a small oilfied town. I grew up racing motocross, playing football, cruising the drag, and knowing if i talked shit i better be able to back it up in person. Nothing but love for two-strokes. I grew up riding two-stroke dirt bikes & sport quads and they've always been my default preference. Current ride is a 2017 YZ250X with a SmartCarb and Scott's stabilizer. STUPID amounts of fun to ride BRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPP!! Mr. Deegan, God bless you for your faith and dedication to family!

Its unfortunate you can't jump on one of the KTM enduro 2-Strokes to see how that works on the trails and hills as opposed to the 4-Stroke. When you see Erzberg and hard enduro, 90% of the guys are on the big bore 2-Stroke with the big flywheel that REALLY makes them torque monsters! That would be fun to see you try one.
can confirm, even on my 98 kx 250, idle rpm wheelies in all gears with no clutch!! Been riding 2 strokes for over 20 years consistently and by far my favorite mod ever. flywheel weights work
The 250x is really good in the woods and hard enduro. Really need Yamaha to add the electric start and a 300 option. It would be right there with the European enduro bikes. The KYB suspension is so much better than the WP.

I'm 33 and haven't ridden since I was probably 12-13. I'm gonna go with 250 2 stroke. I just know how it goes. If I got a 125 I'd want more in a month or 2 lol 4 stroke probably is the better choice but I love 2 strokes. It's what I had as a kid.

I appreciate that Brian is more than surface level and he also has similar beliefs to most people in the moto or blue collar world. Thank you ! All through the years 1973 to now , with all the broken bones , torn ligaments and hard crashing I did , I still love my dirt bikes and riding with my nephews . I've been away for a few years now and they want Uncle to get another one . I'm still thinking about it and I will continue to be the pit mechanic for them as long as possible . Both those bikes are sick, no doubt. Between two stroke and four stroke, the two strokes have more power, but they are less fuel efficient than a four stroke. But either way, it was a lot of fun just watching Brian rip through the track with both dirt bikes and getting the feel for them. 🔥💪

I remember when I started riding I bought a 4-stroke. I then bought a new 2007 2-stroke Kawi 250. When I went back to the 4-stroke I was amazed how much easier it was and the 2-stroke made me a much better rider. I miss my 2-stroke. I miss riding, period lol. People always project their weaknesses or negativity onto others. Like you said it just shows what type of person you're dealing with.

I'm about the hard stuff in life now. never was before haha I always wanted the easy route but yet always wondered why whatever I did it never seemed like enough, or I wasn't that appreciative. nowadays I see the beauty in the hard fight. the fight for good. 💪

I love two strokes in the woods. They run cooler and if theyre tuned right you have plenty of lowend grunt and with a flywheel weight you can lug all day without flaming out like a 4 stroke. Just depends on your riding style and preference! Great word at the end!

I have a 2022 YZ250 monster edition and its the funnest bike i've ever thrown my leg over for sure, the new ergonomics make it so technical and just fun like brian said!! I never had a 250 2T before this bike and it completely changed my riding style and made me so much better in technique and control aspect!!!! I love my bike its wicked!!
You guys are killin it, hope that Haiden bounces back after the last two weeks he's got me locked in watching motocross/supercross every weekend, everyones gotta realize he's a rookie going to these tracks for the first time without a bike setup yet, he got burried on the start a couple times these past two weeks but he always fights till the end which is awesome to see from a young kid.

Thanks for sharing your passions and thoughts on life. Just found this channel and love it! Started at 6 years old riding a Yamaha 60. Then a YZ 125 the fist year monoshock (76 I believe?) Then a TT600 and rode the Rainbow trail in Colorado for years. Rode till late 40s on my 96 YZ250. Have considered riding again at 61. Can’t do the stuff I used to when younger but to play around, feel the power and speed will forever be a part of me! You folks are certainly living a great life and happy for you. Watching your son’s career from the beginning as a pro will certainly be an enjoyment! Best of luck and thank you!

Back in the day , I started out on a Yamaha 100, my dad repositioned the rear shock mounts to give it a softer ride.Thats what I learned on to ride trails, a 2 stroke. Rode that for quite some time then got a Honda XR200R, had the stop muffler replaced with a supertrap & changed the rear sprocket. The reason to change the muffler was to get rid of the back pressure when you would let up off the throttle, the Supertrap you could add or remove discs to adjust the back pressure. Good old Thumper a 4 stroke, I loved my XR200R. Why ?, Well come up to rough nasty parts ,drop a gear or so slide back little bit,keep your feet in the foot pages and pick your way through. Behind me I could hear some of my friends on their snappy 2 strokes, get up to rough spots & they be fanny there clutch.
Years ago there was talk of allowing the *250 2-Stroke* to race against *250 4-Strokes* but I've been saying with *Deegan* said it would benefit the small teams and privateers because a *2-Stroke* is cheaper specially to race & maintain. It would benefit the racing because you erased them differently would choose different lines. It would benefit the audience & *2-Stroke* fans. Canada and Australia were allowing it in Motocross I think the *AMA* should allow it here the manufacturers have so much invested in the *4-Stroke* & not everybody makes the *2-Stroke* I also think this is why you see less normies riding compared to the *90's* & early *2000's* because bikes have just got so expensive

No comparison--even on stock bikes--- Those new 4 strokes smoke the 2 strokers on the Track every time..... BUT MAN those 2 strokers sure are a Blast to drive--Fun Factor goes to the 2 bangers.

Now that I'm older and can afford it, I bought it. I already went trail riding with a couple of my friends that had ktm 300s and that smile/outlet factor is no joke, it's been so long that I almost forgot how fun it was and kind of got mad at myself for not doing it sooner haha. 3hrs of riding and I was sore as heck it didn't matter that I'm still fit haha beers after fixed that. Anyway, great video and thanks for the insight. I'm looking to get a starter dirt bike now, its looking like a 250 four stroke may be the size.

No chance brother. I’ve been riding all my life, grew up on 2 bangers, still got a custom 2 stroke 250. They’re weapons, & they’re a blast to ride. But let’s be real here, you’re just the better rider. A 450 will mono past the 2 banger in 3rd. It sounds like you’re a 2 stroke fan, SO AM I, but I can’t lie, even though my heart will always favour the 2 banger. But yeah, little to no chance that the 250 2 banger will beat a healthy 450, ZERO CHANCE.
I know there stump pullers.but why would you want a 450 if you don’t race..for the wank factor.they sound like overpowered pit bikes to me.id rather rebuild a 2stroke than rebuild a 4joke a lot cheaper and way less maintenance.even my 10 yr old son smoked a crf250 on my 07 cr250 and the bloke had a head start and it was the 1st time my son rode my bike

Im a big 2 stroke fan but the fact is all the technology has been spent advancing the potential of 4 stroke dirt bikes and a 250 4 stroke is an animal now compared to even 10yrs ago and the 250 2 stroke could not compete with it i just love that 2 stroke rip and the premix smell the old castrol R was awesome on the nose great video guys go deegan

Anyways, you're spot on with the ridability comments, 2502T will always be harder to ride because of that explosive power delivery, takes more skill to control the power and the bike . 100%, if you're going to take a race bike and do some trails maybe Brian is right, but a purpose built offroader 2strokes are far more technical.

love those talks you have at the end there. at the end of the day if you can share some truths, you're making the world a better place little by little. just takes the person themself to really listen and get the message. it's so easy to be negative and point out the bad stuff but what's hard for most is to find the good and speak on that. I'm about the hard stuff in life now. never was before haha I always wanted the easy route but yet always wondered why whatever I did it never seemed like enough, or I wasn't that appreciative. nowadays I see the beauty in the hard fight. the fight for good. 💪

I love two strokes in the woods. They run cooler and if theyre tuned right you have plenty of lowend grunt and with a flywheel weight you can lug all day without flaming out like a 4 stroke. Just depends on your riding style and preference! Great word at the end!

Man, y’all have been making some great content. I just got back into riding this past February after a 5 year break and I have missed it. The faith base is everything in this world but like Brian said having a Moro outlet is a Great way to get away from the stress and the negative world out there. Great message in this one. I have a 2022 YZ250 monster edition and its the funnest bike i've ever thrown my leg over for sure, the new ergonomics make it so technical and just fun like brian said!! I never had a 250 2T before this bike and it completely changed my riding style and made me so much better in technique and control aspect!!!! I love my bike its wicked!!

You guys are killin it, hope that Haiden bounces back after the last two weeks he's got me locked in watching motocross/supercross every weekend, everyones gotta realize he's a rookie going to these tracks for the first time without a bike setup yet, he got burried on the start a couple times these past two weeks but he always fights till the end which is awesome to see from a young kid.

Thanks for sharing your passions and thoughts on life. Just found this channel and love it! Started at 6 years old riding a Yamaha 60. Then a YZ 125 the fist year monoshock (76 I believe?) Then a TT600 and rode the Rainbow trail in Colorado for years. Rode till late 40s on my 96 YZ250. Have considered riding again at 61. Can’t do the stuff I used to when younger but to play around, feel the power and speed will forever be a part of me! You folks are certainly living a great life and happy for you. Watching your son’s career from the beginning as a pro will certainly be an enjoyment! Best of luck and thank you!

The bikes…couldn’t stand a chance against these rocket 🚀 ships on 2 wheels now. Amazing Danger boy got that red plate his rookie year. Hope he can hold that red plate up at the end of the season.

Exhaust smell should being back memories.
Back in the day , I started out on a Yamaha 100, my dad repositioned the rear shock mounts to give it a softer ride.Thats what I learned on to ride trails, a 2 stroke. Rode that for quite some time then got a Honda XR200R, had the stop muffler replaced with a supertrap & changed the rear sprocket. The reason to change the muffler was to get rid of the back pressure when you would let up off the throttle, the Supertrap you could add or remove discs to adjust the back pressure. Good old Thumper a 4 stroke, I loved my XR200R. Why ?, Well come up to rough nasty parts ,drop a gear or so slide back little bit,keep your feet in the foot pages and pick your way through. Behind me I could hear some of my friends on their snappy 2 strokes, get up to rough spots & they be fanny there clutch.
Years ago there was talk of allowing the *250 2-Stroke* to race against *250 4-Strokes* but I've been saying with *Deegan* said it would benefit the small teams and privateers because a *2-Stroke* is cheaper specially to race & maintain. It would benefit the racing because you erased them differently would choose different lines. It would benefit the audience & *2-Stroke* fans. Canada and Australia were allowing it in Motocross I think the *AMA* should allow it here the manufacturers have so much invested in the *4-Stroke* & not everybody makes the *2-Stroke* I also think this is why you see less normies riding compared to the *90's* & early *2000's* because bikes have just got so expensive

I raced GNCC in high school. I will always prefer a 2smoker to a 4stroke.

No comparison--even on stock bikes--- Those new 4 strokes smoke the 2 strokers on the Track every time..... BUT MAN those 2 strokers sure are a Blast to drive--Fun Factor goes to the 2 bangers.

That outro was deep! Love the words bro. I just got back into riding myself, I purchased a 2022 yfz450r se. It was my dream quad when I was younger, but I was too broke to afford it. Now that I'm older and can afford it, I bought it. I already went trail riding with a couple of my friends that had ktm 300s and that smile/outlet factor is no joke, it's been so long that I almost forgot how fun it was and kind of got mad at myself for not doing it sooner haha. 3hrs of riding and I was sore as heck it didn't matter that I'm still fit haha beers after fixed that. Anyway, great video and thanks for the insight. I'm looking to get a starter dirt bike now, its looking like a 250 four stroke may be the size.

No chance brother. I’ve been riding all my life, grew up on 2 bangers, still got a custom 2 stroke 250. They’re weapons, & they’re a blast to ride. But let’s be real here, you’re just the better rider. A 450 will mono past the 2 banger in 3rd. It sounds like you’re a 2 stroke fan, SO AM I, but I can’t lie, even though my heart will always favour the 2 banger. But yeah, little to no chance that the 250 2 banger will beat a healthy 450, ZERO CHANCE.
I know there stump pullers.but why would you want a 450 if you don’t race..for the wank factor.they sound like overpowered pit bikes to me.id rather rebuild a 2stroke than rebuild a 4joke a lot cheaper and way less maintenance.even my 10 yr old son smoked a crf250 on my 07 cr250 and the bloke had a head start and it was the 1st time my son rode my bike

Im a big 2 stroke fan but the fact is all the technology has been spent advancing the potential of 4 stroke dirt bikes and a 250 4 stroke is an animal now compared to even 10yrs ago and the 250 2 stroke could not compete with it i just love that 2 stroke rip and the premix smell the old castrol R was awesome on the nose great video guys go deegan

They are racing 450s because they are being paid to ride them, because that is the product the factories want to push.
