  • Yamaha's venerable Yamaha YZ250 two-stroke returns for 2024 with sweet 50th Anniversary retro looks, and a classic feel. How does it compare to a modern four-stroke, such as a Yamaha YZ250F? Kris Keefer and Kenny Day take the YZ250 to Glen Helen to compare four-stroke lines to two-stroke lines, as well as some setup tips for suspension, jetting and more.

    Yamaha, PRETTY PLEASE build a 300cc 2 stroke "YZ300X", with headlight, 6 speed wide ratio transmission, and electric start! Price it around $9,500-$10,000 and I'll never longingly gaze at another KTM or Husqvarna again! I swear! Make it either the above white/purple livery, OR an OG yellow/black/white scheme like you do the anniversary bikes of recent times! I'll pre-order mine now! Mmmm-kaaayyyy...

      @jpconard 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      And hyd clutch. That would be a good price point. But keep the 250X as is for a lower price option. They would sell all the models. I like the old school yellow black too, that is how I remember YZs.

      @Tontsa41 Yeah, I have a KTM. All those features. I'd prefer a Jaanese bike (Honda or Yamaha), even if it weighed a little more, at a lower price point than the $14K (OTD) KTM's, with WAY more reliability/longevity! It's a niche that the Japanese brands haven't wanted to bust into. I'm hoping that with all the euro brands busting into the Japanese bread and butter of Supercross, that the Japanese manufactures will extend their purview into the hard enduro arena! Fingers crossed! 🤞

      this is the perspective of a KTM fan.
      Yamaha always had the best 2 strokes, and the reason kept producing them its simply because people are BUYING it.
      It's the same reason why Honda still produces xr650l, suzuki the dr650, and kawsaki the klx. Because people love them and still buy them.
      People always loved 2 strokes and always will. That has nothing to do with KTM.
