THANK YOU FOR SUCH A SIMPLE RECIPE!!! I just try it. Literally. Since my mother makes curry, i wanna make this recipe immediately. @@ImASurvivorNThriver hi! Well i use just a non stick pan and few pots on a stove for cooking. Nothing crazy to be honest and it served me well for over 4 years now :)
I made this and added chopped garlic to the mix and it tasted delicious, I totally recommend adding little bits of garlic or green onions or whatever you might enjoy
Another tip: The goal is to keep the heat even, flip often, don't let a side get too hot or it deteriorates the elasticity preventing it from bubbling up. (6~ flips, 20-30~ seconds each side.) More details: Usually it's always a heat problem when they don't puff up. Once it starts to bubble, you want to turn the heat up. Pretty high but not too high. Both too much and too little heat results in non puffed up. If they're coming out hard but not done in the center then it's too hot or you're cooking it too long. You can't leave these on the stove by themselves. It takes about 5~ min to cook one. If you're cooking it for ten min or longer, you're probably not giving enough heat. Letting it puff up helps cook the insides. So if you're cooking it at low heat but for a long time you'll still end up with a gooey inside. But if you like that then keep at it!

I have been making homemade tortillas by hand for over 2 years now and other flat breads from Turkey, Azerbaijan and other countries. Your recipe here is a gem! It's economical and it's really the easiest and quickest flat bread I have ever made! I used white whole wheat flour and unsalted butter for your recipe and it worked out great. Normally it takes me 3 hours to make 15 burrito size tortillas from start to finish. It's nice to have a quick recipe for days when you don't have much time to make bread this is really important to me since my family and I make most of the bread we eat from scratch regularly. In the summer time I can't use my oven and it's been hard to find bread to make on the stove top that turns out good, besides making pancakes, waffles, ect. I am referring to bread you can make a sandwich with. I have noticed your other videos on making bread on the stove top and I will try some of them. @@muzakkirjuvi I did not use any baking soda. No, the white whole wheat bread does not puff up. The flat bread recipe is only good for a day. It doesn't hold its shape for very long and it's not as strong/sturdy as traditional tortillas, but it's still a good easy and fast flat bread recipe. (White whole wheat flour cooks differently than traditional whole-wheat flour does. Traditional whole-wheat flour is usually made from hard red wheat, which is darker and more strongly flavored. White whole wheat is made from hard white wheat flour also called white whole wheat flour. These look incredible. I haven't made them yet, but I probably will today. Around the 3:00 mark it looks like a paratha. If this works out, it'll be my new go-to method. Kneading and rolling out is a pain, and it's hard to get almost-perfect circles and the puff. Some people complain about these not puffing. It might be worth adding a little baking powder. BTW, I wonder if you can make these using masa harina (corn flour)?
Tried them twice and they didn’t puff. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. They also were getting like a weird color on one side instead of having the brown spots. Guess l will stay with the traditional. The first batch I let sit for 2 hrs and didn’t puff. Then tried mixing and making them right away, same results. 😩 Hope someone can give me some tips using this method.
@@Joygre1 Good day mine didn't fluff up either I tried reg water cold water and hot all times just made a strong stretch tortilla. Idk I wish I could help you( us) but I guess my skills for this method is not good I guess idk I tried back to the old fashioned which is fine for me
@@Joygre1 Yeah, they didn't really work out for me. Comes out more like a crepe. What I've found to be the best are the uncooked ones that you buy (sometimes refrigerated) and cook at home. Those seem to puff every time.
constant flipping over moderately high heat is the key to getting these to puff properly. personally i use a cast iron griddle, not a teflon coated pan.
Just made these and they came out AMAZINGLY delicious😋!!!! Mine didn't puff up because mine just made too many small holes; allowing air to escape. I think with practice I can get it to do so. It is still very tasty even if it isn't puffy 😁
These were so tasty and perfect I made a second batch today 🤣. Again no puffing action because I can't figure out how to pour the batter without creating holes for the air to escape. At this point, not trying for puff anymore. These made the BEST turkey wraps I ever had 😋
They are great. Mine didn't puff up either. I think if the temperature is too high when you first put it on the pan it stops it from puffing up later. Also I used wholemeal which could have affected things.
Thank you SO much for putting the recipe in cups also! I have not been able to make flatbread that is edible. Your recipe is different and I think this will work for me. Great video and Instruction. Take care and I wish you peace in your life.
I made this. I don't know how long I'm supposed to keep them in the pan, but I spent an hour trying to make 1 batch. They taste good, but just didn't puff up one bit. Maybe because I added an extra 1/2 teaspoon of sugar? I pressed the edges like crazy. It's just not the same as the video at all. And I like to think I'm a pretty good cook!
Mine neither and I’m quite the cook. Weighed ingredients and followed along with video during whole process. Did that twice. They’re still good. The trick is definitely in the cooking. I think you’ll end up with more bubbles if you cook the first 2 sets of flips a little longer than the video shows. Good luck.

So simple, and amazing with a little crushed anise seeds! Thanks for making it look easy, and worth the bit of time.
Mum used to make this. Thank you for sharing. Reminded me of an age-old recipe in my family.
I have never made anything quite like this. My first two were a mess, but edible. Most of mine did not rise like this video. My last one was the best as I added tumeric! That was a game changer. It added so much more flavor and color!
It's kinda hard to get flatbread here in S.Korea, so I decided to make it myself. So easy and tastes good! Thank u ❤
I’d just made my first batch and I love it so much. I ate with chicken curry for lunch. Later for tea time I’m gonna spread some durian jam for a sweet treat😋😋Thanks so much❤️❤️
I made some too. Had my with curry chicken I am Indian so we say curry chicken. 😂
Please sapport
I made these this morning and they turned out perfect. Thank you for this easy recipe😌
Good.

Maybe but I would use steaming hot water on the mass and let it set for an hour to hydrate so it cooks like it should .
Batter will never puff up. Actually at 2:42 they cut the video of a paratha. This video is fake, the second half.
Thank you SO much for putting the recipe in cups also! I have not been able to make flatbread that is edible. Your recipe is different and I think this will work for me. Great video and Instruction. Take care and I wish you peace in your life.
My wife left me. I now have to learn to cook for myself. Your my hero
u not fr
I made this. I don't know how long I'm supposed to keep them in the pan, but I spent an hour trying to make 1 batch. They taste good, but just didn't puff up one bit.
Maybe because I added an extra 1/2 teaspoon of sugar? I pressed the edges like crazy.
It's just not the same as the video at all. And I like to think I'm a pretty good cook!
Did you succeed later? Me too. In the end i dump it. I used only 1 cup to test. I think i will substitute butter instead of oil.
I couldn't get it to work either
Tried twice and both times failed. 😢.
Mine neither and I’m quite the cook. Weighed ingredients and followed along with video during whole process. Did that twice. They’re still good. The trick is definitely in the cooking. I think you’ll end up with more bubbles if you cook the first 2 sets of flips a little longer than the video shows. Good luck.
Mine didn't puff up either. I followed everything exactly as well.
It looks so delicious! , plus it saves a lot of time ! Thank you

@@turkishen-ar6109 I was going to ask this same question.
I just made it with this recipe and im so happy my rotiz are so nice and soft my kids are enjoying them so much thank u so much for this recipe ❤
I made this with 1 and 3/4 plain flour and 1/4 whole wheat flour, added some seasonings and extra water. Worked well, thank you. 😋

@@AtoneDipsy yes it is who are you to say it isn't.

I wonder if this can be made with wholegrain flour.... the ones that you made here look impeccable! 👍🏼

Did you add cold or warm water please?

How do you make your t puff up? Mines always flat
@@pikachu2003 are they supposed to puff up? Lol. Mine are always flat and I cook them till they're a little crispy too. I can suggest you add like, a quarter - half tspn of baking powder.
@@pikachu2003 oh I see, you mean during the cooking process as shown? Yeah, no mine don't do that either.
I make them for my chicken wraps but this method I think is more healthier because it gets cooked entirely from initial stage to the final state

i was wondering why mine didnt puff into a ball like in the video, i realised i kept pressing down everywhere instead of just the edges hahahah but its sooo delicious i love it, will definitely make again
Because the flour she used was self raising flour. It has yeast in it.
Yeah. Me too. I thought she lie to us. Mine not like that at all.
@@anac8834 Self raising flour does NOT have yeast In it. It is plain flour and baking powder. She uses PLAIN flour to make these.
Judging by the fact that there’s more people saying it worked amazing, then people saying it didn’t…. I don’t think she did lie. But make sure to spread it well and only push down the edges, not the middle. Like she shows: push the edges and twist slightly
Thought I was the only one
Excellent recipe! It’s amazing how easy it is and the flatbread came out great! Thanks so much❤
It’s Indian/pakistani not hers thievery runs deep
I accidentally cooked the first one too hot, if they are seeming to be thick or pancakey, you put in too much batter or too hot a pan 💜 Excellent recipe xxx

Omg when I was in the military and stationed in Iraq I remember two of their main dishes that I absolutely loved and one was a beef and chicken curry Indian style with some type of flatbread which I believe is chapati made from a batter and Shawarma with tahini or taziki. I think the base workers used ghee on the griddle.
I would give them American candy and they would give me like six of these in a to go box LOL we all used to fight over them. In the morning I would wrap my eggs and potatoes in it and eat it.
😋yummy
Great idea
That's a Nice Story ! Thx
U went to murdervppl n don't even know the food. Chapati isn't Iraqi murderer
Thanks!! Can this be made with whole wheat flour? If so, what adjustment should be made? Also, can I cut the sugar without any adjustments?
