Buddy Guy is now 87 and as of August 2023 still occasionally performs. Let's continue to support artists of all ages. Too often people forget about them or talk about them past tense like they're already gone.
I had a trip to Chicago last month, went to the Legends Blues club, and was absolutely flaberghasted when the compare called Buddy Guy up on stage. I was not expecting that whatsoever. suffice to say, it was one memorable evening. Buddy sure is alive and kicking, his voice, soul and stage presence was mesmerizing. Boy could he hold court up on stage. A true master of his art.
I saw Buddy Guy in Pompano beach Florida a couple weeks ago. He says he's going to stop touring but I have a feeling he'll be like Willie Nelson 😄 Frankie valli is almost ninety and has a tour schedule. Compared to them Mick jagger and Keith Richards are still youngsters
was front row for 2007 and 2010 Crossroads. I've seen a zillion concerts but these two were top 5, no doubt. So many guitar gods who checked their egos at the door and came to have some fun and support a great cause.
Saw “Jonny” Lang open for the Stones when he was only 19yrs young, what a fantastic musician he is and my 1st time seeing the Stones, they definitely had me under their thumb. Love this performance and especially Buddy Guy, who else could break a guitar string & so coolly ad lib it into the “Miss You” song groove~A MASTER that’s who?!! 🎉🎉🎉
I look at the stage and think of the billions of people on this earth and here stands some of the best, I’ve loved Buddy Guy for a long time after watching him in a interview, always smiling and enjoying life. Ronnie woods knows Buddy’s the man and always shows his respect first class thanks for posting love it
All these Legends on stage seem to hypnotize people. They're all savants, and legends in their industry. And yet no one is giving props to the bass-man, who walked everybody through the whole damn performance.
I know exactly what you are talking about. Maybe many times, but definately one time in particular. I remember thinking, did I just have an out of body experience? What WAS that?? 😮 One of Neil Young's long solos. I thought maybe Neil Young hypnotized me. Lol I watched a documentary about bass players a while back. I wish I could remember the name of it. One of these bass players that I didn't recognize claimed responsibility for that levitation that you felt. Bass and drums in the pocket. He said that he knew when what you described was happening. To the entire audience at once. He said levitate. He could feel it and see it. Hahahaha 😅 I believed him. The bass in this song, "Miss You" has always been what I love about this song. 😊
Albert King did it really well too. Broke a string, removed the string, put on a new string, kept playing like nothing had even happened. San Francisco Blues Festival. 1990 or '91. Angel of Mercy.
I love Ronnie because he always showed love to every legend of blues and classic rock. And he has a cool personality. I used to watch his show about music in a channel that I can't remember the name.
Absolutely WONDEROUS ... the GROOVE never expressed any better !!! MUSIC is indeed the UNI'Verse !!! One song. one poetic verse. round and round ... just take it in !!!
Such fantastic joy they all are giving us!!! Such clear, clean playing, the pop of each string can be heard.....great recording job too, with three legends and a bassman carrying them on the path. Nice organ/synth riff at the end.
Respect à Buddy Guy pour tout ce que tu nous as donné comme bonheur à moi mes amis de tes nombreux concerts que j'ai pu voir avec eux un grand merci pour ceux qui t'accompagnent sur Scène
@@petermyers5793 To me Johnny Lang peaked with his first album, and was 14yrs old. He was a guitar prodigy and played with the best blues guitarist around. Getting married, finding religion and having kids at 18yrs old didn't help his "best blues guitarist for the future" image. There is nothing wrong with these goals at all. I just can't see having a number one blues/rock at 14yrs old, then 18yrs old recording religious albums. I understand he is trying to re-enter the world of blues and is still very good. He just doesn't seem he will ever get "it" back.
@@petermyers5793 Of course he is full of soul. There are at least 2 child guitar prodigy's that have kept up with their dreams that I am aware of right now. Derek Trucks is one and the other is Taj Farrant. Tedschini and Trucks band is very successful. Taj Farrant will be 13yrs soon and is very successful on TH-cam now. He has a band and that COVID restrictions have been lifted he will be touring. I'm glad Johnny Lang has found religion, marriage, and kids. Returning to blues/rock is just going to be different than religious albums.
I was very lucky to see the 3 of them on 3 different occasions. Wood with the Stones in Chicago, Lang in ST. Loius and Buudy Guy with BB King in Columbia Mo. Great memories.
