When I was a boy, my dad took me to a BB King concert in our hometown (the 1993 "Jazz en Nord" blues festival in Tourcoing, North of France). I was probably one of the only kids in there. At one point, he started shaking the hands of the people close to the stage. Unfortunately, I was a meter away, on my dad's shoulders. I reached and reeeeached out my hand to the King... But it seemed like he didn't notice me... Until he stopped walking, set his eyes on me and said "YOU !"... and shook my hand :) The smile on my face must have been larger than the concert hall we were in!

I saw this live. About half the crowd left, this was after the Clapton solo set, close to midnight. Bill Murray was imploring people to not leave, best is yet to come, but they did. This was beyond incredible. What possessed Robert Randolph to do what he did.................maybe he was supposed to, but the whole thing was surreal. BB King told Clapton, Cray and Vaughn that if he had to sit they had to as well. And then they did what they did. Since so many people had left it was easy to maneuver close to the stage, the look on King's face during the song was amazing, it was like he was young again.

4:12 Imagine putting all of your time and effort in too learning the art of playing guitar for multiple years, have the opportunity to play with B.B King and he gives you the thumbs up. That mans life is now complete.
Thank you very much BB. This master piece was sent to me from Heaven when I was lower than the mop on the floor. This truly helped me ride the wave of sorrow. RIP BB
This isn't music anymore, this isn't a feeling anymore.. This is life! This performance is so legendary on so many levels. But what's making this so damn good is the total relaxed vibe it gives and how everybody is playing besides mr King.
My great grandma’s favorite artist. We played this song over and over this very day, 6 years ago as she drew her last breath. Merry Christmas Madear….the thrill is gone 🖤
Well I can't believe I saw cat Stevens three times in concert and bad company and so many others I'm just happy to be alive in my generation and I'm 67❤
REAL musicians, each and every one. I feel privileged and humbled being able to hear these wonderful people playing this wonderful music, RIP BB King, gone, but not forgotten.
By chance I saw BB perform this song in Philadelphia in 1969 with a small gathering of 350 people. Not a soul was unmoved by the beauty of song. How lucky was I?
This man walked the earth and both broke, and mended, hearts all around the world. I'm literally choked up a little listening to this and I'm a grown ass man.
This is the best music ever when my grandson gets a little cranky he's nine old now ever since he was born a I can put this on and he stops and is just mesmerized amazing
This man carried my through hard times. If it wasn't for him, I'd probably no longer be here. It's also the only person I ever cried for when I heard he died (I don't even cry when family dies). Thanks BB for your existence, your music and your legacy
He was the king haha one of the best. There were alot and still are alot of damn good blues players thankfully. Nothing like this music. Makes you feel everything.
Incredible!! I am 83 and played bass in a blues club long ago where BB King was the only muso listed on the Wurlitzer, and really known as the king indeed. This such a fine tribute recording of BB King and a group of the finest musos. Thank you for posting this Rhino! Wow, just Wow!
@@JoaoVictor-cd4bd Thanks, glad to hear from you. This recording video is a rare gift for all of us. I played in a black club and was called a grey as the only white and at a Jazz club called Janko's, and at college clubs. I was so proud to be a part of it.
This is very true, i am 20 years old , i went through my first ever heartbreak, what hurt me the most about everything was that this person was enjoying my pain, and humipiation. That part where BB sings, the thrill is gone ,you gonna be sorry one day, that part eases me, I am living better now, I have found myself again, But this medley really brings peace to the soul
At 19 years old, I used to go and see B.B.King at the Red Lion Inn, a small intimate venue in Champaign, Illinois. Not totally sure how I was so lucky, but I was in the right place. He is on the top of blues musicians and a hero.
Remember yesterday is gone forever, tomorrow may never come again. Only today matters, only this moment belongs to you, keep smiling and enjoy every moment of your life. That's life, none of us will ever come out alive anyway. Don't wait any longer, eat delicious things. Go out and enjoy the sun, go swimming, tell the truth you have always kept, be crazy, be good, be weird. There is no time for anything else. Enjoy the present moment and make every moment magical. Live in the moment. Be grateful for the little things life offers you and also to the people around you. Rejoice every moment, and soon will dawn the day when everything will be better. Don't dream, live! Don't apologize, assume! Do not hesitate, go for it! Listen to this song - enjoy.
“If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.” ― Albert Einstein
It's interesting in these BB King videos where he's playing with a who's-who of other established players, that he doesn't try to ego-maniacally play the "iconic-legend" card, and be the center of attention. Instead, he is always humble and respectful of their talents, and seems genuinely as happy to be on-stage with them, as they are with him.
Grandpa watching his progeny with pride and genuine interest. A nation that can produce this level of beautiful, visceral, and intellectual sophistication can survive anything.
I love how three bonafide legends are just sitting there, playing second fiddle to the headmaster of their school...just the massive amount of respect on the stage moves me to tears.
I love how every B.B. performance he is just enjoying the moment and jamming appreciating all the other talented musicians that gravitate toward his greatness
Right on! One of the best blues song ever recorded. To see BB, Eric, Robert and Jimmie play this together live is a treat to the senses!! Robert Randolph at the end is absolutely mind blowing too. It's my birthday today and I can't not stop by and visit this without saying something. If anyone doesn't like this they haven't lived and I feel sad for so many that think today's near garbage for the most part music is close to this honestly. This is real music and artistry!!
I love how the blues gets down under your skin and you feel the music, your body responds to it instead of just using your ears to listen. Great music. 💕⚡📀
BB King was and still is a Gift to all of us! Never will we have music like this. Such awesome talents from Clapton as well. Clapton, Lindsay Buckingham & Carlos Santana are the Very Best guitarists in the world I am grateful to have lived to enjoy their gifted music!❤❤❤
I am blessed to be a woman of 61 from Little Rock Arkansas, Memphis, and Nashville TN. Growing up we would head to Memphis every week-end. Disco, Blues, Rock n Roll. Any live venues we could find when we were 16 to 22. The age limit was 21 in Arkansas and 18 in Memphis. A whole car load of girls in a Vega would go to Memphis with mini dresses and rollers in our hair. We seen so many greats and made so many memories. I think I have danced on every bar on Cooper and Madison, and Beale Street at one time or another in my young life. Different times back then for sure. It's a wonder my liver has held out this long. I am lucky enough to have been an amateur photographer. I am joining now with a painter of blues artist here in Nashville. My kids grew up listening to all of the Cadillac Records, Motown, and any blues we could get a hold of a record for. They can tell you about Howlin Wolfe, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and W.C. Handy's composition of “Memphis Blues.” Yes, I am blessed.
Don't it make you feel good knowing there's something good flowing out there in that 'goneness' that's eternal? Makes me feel good and connected to be able to know it right now too. Long live good music! Energy is neither created or destroyed! Ride it one more time. Play it back loud enough til your soul is free to just BE!

He was such a consummate professional in so many ways and it's very heartwarming to think of all the musicians that were influenced by his overwhelming level of talent. I miss him a lot, but through his music he isn't really gone and has become immortal for as long as sound waves still travel through the air and into our souls!!! Rest in Peace, BB.

I'm 26 today and have been listening to this music for as long as I can remember. Simply brilliant!
Отличный вкус. Папе уважения
Same here. I'm 20 and if it wasn't for my dad, I probably wouldn't even know real music like this. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to see BB live (while my father did) 😢 but we did go to a Robert Cray concert, and just a week ago we witnessed the greatness of Clapton. Blues is alive and well 🎸

Aw man! Bless you sir that you would be 80 in July. My dad will be 80 this year as well, but his birthday is in August. He likes blues and "oldies but goodies" songs and so do I. I'm 44 and they don't make old school music anymore like they used to back in those years.

When all of us are gone, this song will still remain, reverberating in the vast stretches of the universe
