I've watched many a lap jobs on valves, and have thought about using a drill. But thinking about it and actually doing it are different things. T-Bone showed us exactly how it is done. And what a beautiful lap job it produced. Thanks T-Bone! 👍👍👍
@@RaleysSmallEngines I really enjoyed and appreciate the helpful videos Raley. Just a heads up though I think that’s called peening not pinging. But you can call it what you want, it works.
Nice polishing job on the valves. Who would of figured to put it in a drill? Nice thanks for that simple advice. Your a time and money saver. Thanks man
Great video. Tbone. I love how you ♥❤ share tips and tricks you've learned please keep sharing info on what to do and look for as you fix various pieces of equipment. It helps me the inexperienced mechanic slot. Thanks.
Wow! super quick diagnosis T-Bone, you are the man. Nice time lapse music. How come the water didn’t leak through though? Such a subtle problem which I guess takes experience to spot. Great video
Thank you. Water is heavier than fuel therfore, for lack of a better word, thicker.. gas is thinner and will go places water can't. Same goes for the brake cleaner, it's thin and will seep where water can't. Thanks again Steve!!
How's she goin'? Nice quick valve job there buddy!!! I like the tip of pinging around the valve seat. Good there was no damage inside the engine since the push rod was broken eh. Nice repair and all's is good now!!! Take care!!!
Great video. I have JD LA105 that I replaced the flywheel key because of a sudden engine stop by hitting a clump of dirt in a ditch I was mowing. It started after installing a new key but only ran a few seconds and now won’t start. Is there a crankshaft key as well? If so can you do a video on how to replace that key?
Woo-Hoo got that one straightened right out, Great job T-Bone.. Are you going to use a little Super Clean on that thing before giving it back to the customer?
I have same year machine how to adjust the carburetor, it has the small screw with a spring and and a black screw with a black plastic cover, is back firing when I turned it off
I have a D110 that has a surging problem. I just got it back from the local small engine shop and they told me the reason it was surging/missing is because it’s cold. I don’t buy it. I’ve replaced the spark plug, fuel filter, air filter. Can’t figure it out. Reckon the small engine place didn’t think it was a issue. I need help
Jets in the carburetor are most likely restricted. If you are near Columbia SC I will fix it and video it for you. We don't let a surging engine leave this shop. Easy way to find out is start it, add a little choke. If it levels out it's a restricted carburetor jet. I may have a video, can't remember. Bring it let's video a repair.
Sorry, I don't have a good answer for you. We don't have any problems with mice but that's probably due to us having 4 cats. Hopefully someone will have a better answer for you.
Mine will just spin some times. And some time it will fire up some times i can hit it with starting fluid and it will fire off. Haven't looked to see whats wrong yet
Need help : I have a olde John Deere LT133 mower That my dad left me Problem is the only way it will stay running is with the throttle all the way up If you lower it it stalls out Sad 😩 Has had a new carb installed and worked fine for a season Then back to the same old thing I hate to get rid of it because it was my dads Any help would be appreciated Thank you all …
Another way they bend and break pushrods is the engine gets hot and the valve guide drops and binds the valve, and the pushrod tries to force it and snaps or bends the pushrod
Yes, this one, I think the adjustable nut on the rocker arm got loose and then backed out of the rocker arm. Thanks for watching and commenting stay tuned part 3 coming soon.
Yep, but this ain't a mower wash shop. Turn and burn just wife and I repair around 100 pieces a month. We wish they would wash them Before they bring them. Most of our commercial customers bring them clean. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend.
Nice trick for the seat valve ring!!!👍👌
This baby will run! Good video, thank you for the tips!

TBone.... You the man.
These B&S engines are susceptible to running hot, if trash is blocking air flow over the head. Great job T-bone.
Yes they are. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend.
Thansk for your secrets and teach how to easy repair a problem .
Good trick, been there done that, works great.

Saved another one there Mr Raley! Were you able to find the broken piece of the pushrod? The only thing that Deere needs now is a bath.👍📽🎬🇺🇸 Roger
Heck yeah. Yes it does need a bath.
Nice job
Thank you
Great find im glad to see you do both valves most hotdogs shops wouldn't had
Awesome
Dude you're a magician! What does the punch holes do?
Hold the valve seat in. They come loose on these engines, and people think they need a new head. I fix them. Thanks for the comment my friend.

Hello I m interested to find the exactly position of the rings in the piston you can help me with some foto signed in the piston, thanks
A compression tester, is a very useful tool when working on small engines. Thats one of the first things i check with a machine that won't start.
I didn't see the link to do the valve adjustment
Sorry, I will add it to the description. Here is a link th-cam.com/video/TO1p7pivbAI/w-d-xo.html
@Raley's Small Engines thank you I've got an 2015 john deere d110 can I use the .004 for my valve adjustment
@@thomassisco5515 yes, I do a tight 4 on intake and a loose 4 on exhaust. Works every time unless the compression release is bad on the cam.

I got the gasket set on ebay for $10 including the valve cover gasket.

i have air comming from carb and oil filler and it will not start
If a Lawn/Garden Tractor doesn't have the Kohler 7000 or Kohler command commercial pro engines in it I won't even look at it
it is a briggs 16 on zero turn air blowing back carb--oil filler will not start
I think its the vavles

Bad cam
