Have pulled the catb and nothing seems wrong, but then again I dont know what tocreslly look for..... Tho, my mower sounds yo be doing exactly what this one was. Cant complain. No issues with motor whatsoever othar than this.....
Will complete what you suggested and report back. Just waiting for delivery. But much better than waiting a month in the shop. FL here so will be back to mowing twice a week soon...

I have a huskavarna with a 22 Brigg. It was smoking and spitting oil out of the exhaust. The oil was overfull so I changed but I crossed threaded the oil filter. I cranked it up and it blew all the oil out and quit. I was kinda thrown into a daze by all the smoke and didn't check to see if filter was leaking. Something that I always do. I work on diesel tractor so a farm. Any way when I fixed the filter put more oil she turns over but will not crank. I think I ruined this engine. I already bought another lawn mower just wondering do all think it's done. I see now the carburator was the problem. But I think I burned it when all the oil leaked out.

I have done a few of the same things you do as well, I like to watch how others will do the same job. Most times I find a few short cuts, and sometimes I think I might be able to help others. Overall, I enjoy watching others. T bone, you do very good work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and abilities with others. Even if someone is afraid to jump in the middle of a job that looks difficult , they can still learn and listen to a repair shop, and can get sn idea if that shop knows what to do, or should go some place else. That Sir is a great help as well. 😊

Great job T-Bone, man I can't see how some people let their engine & fuel tanks get that filthy under the hood to the point where you can't even see where a leak is occurring. I have owned a Craftsman YT 3000 made by Husqvarna since 2013 with 800 hours on the B&S 21HP Intek single engine and it still purs like a kitten as I've been truly blessed that it's never blown the head gasket, broken the camshaft compression release, or had a rocker arm stud back out which all were common Intek issues. Everything is still as clean as day one as it only takes a little wiping things down occasionally, using a leaf blower, or an air compressor to blow it off once in awhile, and it can only help to keep all that dirt and grime from ruining everything.

brother thank you. I just fixed an auction mower by having to weld a darned deck bracket back on, remount the deck with the parts they left in a box, fired it up and went mowing and she started to smoke and really really smoked when I went into reverse. Figured a seal was bad or something. Stuff running out of the front of it. I even priced a motor just in case. The oil is down. But will go through this test first. The oil seems a little thin to me too, but we'll start here.

IF I had a shop like T-Bone's, I would never use Chinese Scamazon/Fleabay carbs. Either replace with OEM or rebuild with OEM parts. All the OEM carbs that customers said to junk, I would rebuild and toss on the next customer's engine. Saves a lot of time and effort. Hi sir your mower is fixed. Just as they drive back home and hit the easy chair. Keep a couple 2 barrels like this video and the 594593 Walbro for the single cylinder jobs on the shelf, ready to go.

Thanks for that. It clearly wasn't smoking after the repair but I'm still not sure precisely what it was that fixed it. I presume it was oil burning because fuel could be smelled in the oil. However I don't know how this relates to working on the carburetor. I'd be grateful for an answer from anyone.

The carburetor was leaking fuel into crankcase making it over full. Over full crankcase = smoking. Leaking carburetor was what caused it.

Excellent video... As a mechanic it's a tuff call to tear down a problematic machine .. diagnosis, suggest to a customer what is the best course to go about it...with a less than 50/50 chance of getting good quality parts, On Time.

Would have appreciated seeing how you cleaned up the mess. I have tried many methods but haven't found the best one yet. Good to watch someone who knows what he is doing!

Thank you very much. We use kitty litter for the concrete floor, works great and cheap. On the machine I use a spray bottle of purple power and rinse with garden hose sprayer. We thank you for watching and commenting my friend

Thank you for the video. Apart from causing smoke, can the addressed fault cause the oil to quickly darken? I have both things happening.

Be sure to reconnect the tube from the crankcase breather and check it for splits. Straight shot for dirt into cylinders.

Good info in this video. Why replace everything in the carb if the only problem is a bad needle? Just so you can charge the guy for it? I'd slap a new needle in it and send it on!
Most mowers I get with this carb are leaking through.

Thank you.. Not so I can just charge the guy for it. I won't do them half way and risk a customer coming back with a different carburetor issue that I will have to do for free. Great comment my friend Thanks very much for watching and commenting.

Long story short I was given a "smoking" snapper riding mower with 500cc Briggs. The feet places aren't even scuffed. Guy had to much money and little time. Oil level, air filter, carb, Head gasket , any ideas , I haven't had a chance to look at it yet , but I feel it's got to be simple fix ✌️😎

I think it is more fun to rebuild the carb, and then have the needle not seat correctly, or a leaking o ring, and that will fill the crank case with gas again, so you can do a 2nd oil change. It is so much fun fixing small engines, that I want to maximize the time I get to spend goofing around. Well, I guess an aftermarket carb is quicker, and if you are working and trying to make money ... but who needs money anyway? Right?!!!
