    This car just won safest SUV according to European NCAP ratings! The green is amazing.
    Just so people know, this is the same production line as the Volvo EX30, another Geely car. This is basically an upgraded and slightly larger Ex30 for less money

    Hopefully the base model on 19" rims has better ride quality.
    I like the fact that you can get the luxury features for $4K on the base model, with a sensible amount of power.
    Make mine a base + comfort pack in Palace Beige with the mulberry interior. It looked the goods at the Sydney EV show in 2024.
    I am eagerly awaiting the similarly sized (but much cheaper and smoother riding) MG S5 EV. Might grab a top spec version. Love the 10yr warranty!

  • @waynerm002
    @waynerm002 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    It's so interesting to see how different country package their vehicles, in the US they would make you pay for options on both (base, mid, top, all have options) vehicles, increasing the price to a ridiculous level, Australia seem to have some options package as well but, more reasonable for a "premium" vehicle. In Malaysia they have RWD and AWD almost equipped the same with AWD having the Intelligent B-pillar, HUD and onboard charger, 1 price for each. The lighter interior color should be coming this year.
    I've been in the RWD version for a ride, plenty quick, rides well and felt European, wished it had adaptive suspension though. As a previous Volvo S60 R-Design Special Edition (4 cylinder) owner, I wasn't impressed with their Sport setup, felt overly firm, which made it ride harsh on bad roads. The RWD X with the 18" (we only get 18s and 19s in Malaysia) setup felt comfortable, I can't speak for the AWD as I wasn't interested in that one and didn't get a ride in one.

    • @IBLIZA23
      @IBLIZA23 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I tested both in the PJ showroom. Weirdly I said to the sale's person that the AWD and RWD feels different in terms of handling. With the AWD slightly better. Sales person also said she felt the difference but on paper it's the same set up. Of course I am not talking about the speed difference but just how it handles driving around PJ roads. The RWD felt abit floaty while the AWD feels more refined.
      The only thing that is left out from the msian specs which I wish they offered is the suede ceiling lining + that sunglasses holder replacing driver's grip handle. Don't really care much for the fridge as this car will not be a long distance option for me.

    • @waynerm002
      @waynerm002 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ A bigger wheel and less tire sidewall setup, will increase the handling properties for sure. It would have been nice for it to have some with the 19’” setup as in Australia and other countries, I figure they wanted to have a version with more range. With enough DC fast chargers, any vehicle could become a long distance use vehicle however, for daily use in the city, it’s a really well equipped vehicle. With the introduction of the Proton Emas 7, the interior space argument is put to rest but, you lose out on a lot of those premium stuff in the X. Have you tried that one yet?

    • @IBLIZA23
      @IBLIZA23 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@waynerm002 Oh right the wheel size. At that point in time, I didn't know there was a difference between the 2.
      I havent tried the emas 7. Sat inside a showroom unit but they had no test drives available that day.
      Personally now in between sealion 7 and the x. Brain says the BYD but the heart wants the x lol.

    • @waynerm002
      @waynerm002 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ Yep, it seems like Malaysia got the middle spec X with the 18” wheel setup instead of 19” as to how I’ve heard about them being specced in China. The Emas 7 is certainly down on specs compared to SL7 and X but, not poorly equipped for the price. For me though, the XPeng G6 is the top pick, it beats everything else with its advanced tech, driving features, space, etc.. I have to get a ride in the SL7 to see how it stacks up, I heard it has rear torque vectoring, which is really nice to have in a vehicle, I believe it’s on the AWD version only, have to check again. I just like all the sensors and cameras on the G6 plus, the self parking feature is really good.

    Another incredible offering from the Chinese and a real head turner, thou if I have to critise one design flaw, it's the rectangular panel (more noticeable in lighter paint colour) above LHS charging port door...definitely looks like a last minute rush on design.

    I am looking forward to the arrival of Zeekr 7X in Australia but am really concerned of the lack of dealer network in Brisbane as well as the availability of spare parts should anything goes wrong. Can't afford to be without a car waiting weeks for the spare parts to arrive from China. This will be deal breaker if Zeekr can't assure the Australian consumers.

    The name is an acronym…..
    ZE
    Stands for Zero, the starting point of infinite possibilities.
    E

    KR

    Such a missed opportunity with Australia's right-hand drive Zeekr X. Wish they had the 4 seater option and front passenger reclining seat like that had for the left-hand drive model. Also priced too high, as an Xpeng G6 standard range starts at $54,800 and long-range at $69,800. The worst part is the Hong Kong performance version is priced at AUD$56,409 compared to Australia's performance version's $64,900, despite they both having right-hand drive. Such a missed opportunity and a wrong pricing strategy on Zeekr's dealer part.

Minimalism to the point of being spartan with far too much hard, scratchy and cheap feeling plastic with none of the features I expect from a premium priced car. The Zeekr X AWD looks like it could be worth considering as a replacement. Based on the same Geely platform with similar performance, handling and ride quality and over intrusive safety systems but far higher quality, comfort and features.

      Most people in Australia live in cities. I think you are misunderstanding our country.
      Even our country roads are fairly good these days.
      Maybe there is a market for what you are talking about around the farm in the country, but that’s not huge.
      Electric cars make so much sense here with the type of driving we do. Most of it is stop start driving in the city and the energy regeneration on an electric car makes that incredibly economical compared to petrol cars.
      China is our biggest trading partner. They’ve purchased our coal and iron ore in massive volumes for decades. We have a good relationship with China again now that we’ve changed our political leaders from the numpties we had 4 years ago.
      The dealership model is dead. Electric cars of any brand don’t need much servicing. Unlike petrol cars that are just a money pit from the moment you drive it out of the lot.
