I liked the Zoox autonomous vehicle and the Tesla autopilot vehicle the best! Love this video!! Although I think regarding your question about how I think people feel about using autonomous vehicles right now may be low, however, in time people will want these products and learn to trust them more. Like any new technology, like commercial flying in the beginning I’m sure people resisted, and after people saw their use and dependability and safe usage, trust came. I believe the same will happen here! Thank you!!!
Not to be insulting, but I think the autonomous vehicles are just asking for trouble. (I see auto semis running over Volkswagens on remote roads without even stopping or noticing) I always prefer the anti collision system that monitors the driver to keep from crashing and always leaving the human in control. When a computer kills a person in an auto crash who is going to take the blame.
The game changer is to build a high-tech "Little Rascal" that can also be driven in stores, too. The ultimate in pure laziness is upon us... no parking required and street legal. AC and self-driving would be nice so you could play video games, nap, etc. lol to the future.
some of these alternate forms of transportation are ready nice. Several were very nice and they all have a spot they can fill. But if I'm shelling out $8,000 or much much more and it's not a real car or truck it had better go way way over 100 mph. I can't help it!
I totally get where you're coming from! When you're dropping some serious cash, you want that thrill factor, right? It's like buying a top-tier mountain bike and not taking it on the trails-what's the point if you're not pushing the limits? And let's be real, there's something about breaking that 100 mph barrier that just feels like you're in a club all your own. It's not just about the need for speed; it's about what that speed represents-cutting-edge tech, power, and the freedom to just fly (responsibly and within legal limits, of course).
Okay here's my overall summary. I'm from the USA and live in Michigan. I'm retired and an old guy, but a lot of people drive short distances and hardly need a car, this may include college students and retired folks. A pretty big market and I think most of these offering fail those people being to expensive, but especially senior citizens who won't ride in a recumbent with their aged bones and arthritis and back issues. The velomobiles are nice but stupid for old folks with back problems. You better have a great suspension system for old backs and neck and rough roads for the US market or you will truly be niche. SUMMARY: I hope to lease or buy a NIMBUS HALO if I can next year. And after than my number 2 pick is a 3 wheel drive Aptera with 250 mile range and 700 watt hour solar option 30k, and my number 3 pick but maybe number 2 pick is a base Ford Maverick hybred truck for $20k. All the rest of the EV's fail on this list as far as I can tell. None of them meet my needs or price points and some of them are just unpractical for Michigan and for retirees and others who want affordable transportation compared to bikes. This of course is my opinion but I'm an old guy and own an ebike which takes out the need for many of the vehicles showcased here. First most of these vehicles will be destroyed by the Nimbus Halo if you are in the market for a local easy to use vehicle and want a good price. The Nimbus Halo if it meets its price point and features will crush most of the vehicles for a local car transport replacement for one or two people. It's supposed to be priced around $6500 but some at least one of my friends think its way to cheap at that price and can never be built for that at the base price. My friend told me he thinks the Nimbus Halo will be $15k in which case it will match the Elio motor EV price point. And if it is that pricey it will fall off my list as well. But that is the claim of the HALO a price point of $6500 for base and I'll want the AC option because I don't think the windows go down and it will be murder to have a sealed vehicle without air conditioning in the summer. So mine will likely be more expensive than the base unit if I buy one. If they make them available for this area, I'll either lease one of buy one. Second anything here that goes say 25 miles an hour as a low speed electric car and cost huge money like $10k or more is a complete waste of time and useless for most people. That only is a side street golf cart and a complete waste of money as far as I can tell because you can't drive them on normal highways with speeds of 35 or 45 miles an hour. I know they can legally be driven on roads that have a top speed of 35 miles an hour but at 10 miles an hour below the legal speed limit they will cause severe trouble reactions from drivers who want to go the speed limit or faster and are blocked by these vehicles. It doesn't matter if you have the right away or are legally allowed to drive a vehicle if you are driving to slow you are a road hazard and there are people who will hit you. So you had the "right of way" and we can put that on you're gravestone marker when you are buried. That is reality so charging anyone big money for a car like monstrosity that can only go 25 miles and hour is a waste of time. Vehicles that are small and lightweight and electric with a low range will always be looked down on by the US consumer. 100 miles is not even enough for most people in the USA even for a local vehicle because they may want to go far and quick charging is to slow. Any of these small vehicles that cost $10k to $15k or more that don't have all the features of a normal car or small truck are a waste of money and I as a consumer would never buy one. Good luck selling others with more money than brains. I know cars are expensive and in short supply but people will simply wait and make due until they get a decent car at a decent price. A Ford Maverick Hybrid truck from Mexico will cost $20k base and have 38 mile to the gallon in the city. That is what all these small EV makers are competing with a gasoline hybrid with a PRIUS engine type drive train and Toyota drive technology not an overpriced gas guzzling F150 which is silly expensive now. So you have to provide something truly revolutionary and there are only two EV vehicles besides ebikes that are and those are the Nimbus Halo if it makes it to market at price and specs they advertise and the Aptera EV which can have a decent range and speeds and is super efficient and has a 250 to 1000 mile range depending on the cost. Tesla Model 3 cars are nice and were tempting but the base price Tesla Model 3 is now $44,000 - good luck Tesla with that price although in the car shortage those who want a tesla and can afford one will probably pay up for one. So I wish them well, but I'd never pay $44k for a Tesla model 3 and then $600 a month for insurance for one. That's silly expensive. I'm a fan of Tesla but I will never buy one because I'm retired. And although I have a pension I'm not going to waste my money on a car I barely drive and I shouldn't waste it on a EV car that is uselessly expensive and has less safety. I drive very little but my budget is small and my cars are old and one was totaled. I ride an ebike now most of the time and they are great fun. My number one vehicle I want to LEASE for a year is the Nimbus HALO and I hope and pray I can lease one. At least for a year as my main vehicle. But in the summer my main vehicle for shopping will be my Rad Runner Plus Ebike which cost me $1700 base but $2000 with accessories and I've added more to that including a VELTOP windshield and roof accessory which cost me about $550 with shipping. My fat tired ebike can be used most of the year in Michigan and has a top speed of 25 mph unlocked. Why would I pay a penny more of an enclosed toy car that takes up way more space and can't be driven on sidewalks like a normal bike? Why would I spend 5x more for very few additional features. I simply won't. But I'll rent or buy a Nimbus halo if I can you can be assured of that. And I'll buy a APTERA with the full solar option and only 250 mile range base unit but with the three motor sport option. For $30k a three wheeled Aptera will be a dream car of my lifetime and I hope I can buy one before I die and I hope Aptera is successful. Yes I'll keep my old F150 truck for those uses I need, but barely drive it. I won't spend $15,000 for an unpowered 3 wheeled electric motorcycle simply because the price of a New Ford Maverick truck at the base prices of $20,000 here in the USA and those ebikes and reverse trikes simply can't compete at that price point. Of course motorcycle insurance and low fuel prices make EV's attractive to me, but their limited features in speed, range and safety simply take those high priced toys out of the running. For me for most of my driving and I'm retired a 50mph top speed is sufficient. I don't need freeway driving. I want a rather long range just in case, but most of my driving to stores is less than 15 miles a day. So I'm a perfect customer for almost any cool EV vehicle. The Nimbus HALO may be so cool I may even skip the Aptera if it lives up to the hype of the HALO I read about. But even without the Aptera which is estimated to cost me $30k a Halo and Ford maverick having both extremes covered might be a great alternative for me. Keep in mind I drive under 15 miles a day on average so most EV ranges here are sufficient. But my ebike covers all the fun with a Rad Runner Plus being that. With the Aptera and solar option in Michigan for me, the Panels will do all the charging and I'll never pay for electricity or plug it in as I won't need to for normal driving.
"...senior citizens who won't ride in a recumbent with their aged bones and arthritis and back issues..." - that's funny, because the back support, suspension, comfort, and safety is *exactly* why senior citizens buy recumbent trikes and velomobiles in Europe - with or without electric assist. As this is born out by sales for the last 10 years for companies like Hase, Anthrotech and Sinner just to name a few.
I need something I can use for groceries , uphill downhill and works on slippery cold weather. Is any of these capable? I just need to get to town which is about 6km round trip

Keep in mind that in the U.S. if a vehicle are certified for 25 mile an hour streets you can not ride on street with higher 30 ,35, 40, or more an hour roads .So you would basically only be able to ride up and down in front of schools during school hours. You almost certainly could not drive on the street where you live or most anywhere else.
Brenda, that is not true NEV regs in most states will allow you to cross highways, or as long as the street is rated a NEV rated street! in general 35 mph or less.

The core problems with electric cars are 1.) The price is on average 10-20% higher than for a car run by combustion engines. 2.) The distance you can drive on one charge is way too short. 3.) There are way too few charging stations. 4.) The cost of electricity per km is more than the cost of petrol and/or diesel. 5.) It takes too long to charge the vehicle 6.) It cost too much to charge the vehicle on the road 7.) The manufacturing of the batteries are anything but environmentally-friendly. 8.) In many countries around the World there isn't enough electricity to go around at present (January 15, 2023) for everyone to have electric cars instead of cars with combustion engines, this must be solved before people have to replace their combustion engine cars with electric cars. 9.) Batteries die quickly when it's cold/hot outside, batteries survive the longest between 68 - 86 degrees F (20-30 degrees C), this's a major issue in both hot and cold countries. 10.) To replace a battery pack cost up to 25% of the cars total value. 11.) The cars that was demonstrated here are all too low, that is, not enough clearance between the bottom plate and the ground, which is essential where I live, not least during the winter and spring due to the climate where I live. 12.) I have never heard any information pertaining to these types of vehicles regarding front-, rear- wheel drive or 4x4, which's essential where I live. The roads out here are gravel, and are very similar to roller-coasters literally. 13.) With that said, to use a battery-driven car/ATV/UTV/truck/tractor... to e.g. plow roads free of snow don't seem to be a practical solution, nor for any other form of heavy work etc., ... small businesses might as well just shut their doors and create mass unemployment in colossal numbers World-wide. No, these might at best do in the cities, but in the country where I live they ain't worth moose spit!

Very helpful!
Glad you liked our video on Mini EVs. Much appreciated!
Thanks Barb. I think you are absolutely right :).
how come they don't they don't always give the prices of
There was also a lot of resistance to AC electricity.

Muy bonitos diseños Lástima que no estén blindados.
Tal vez los futuros vehículos tengan blindaje.
The game changer is to build a high-tech "Little Rascal" that can also be driven in stores, too.
The ultimate in pure laziness is upon us... no parking required and street legal. AC and self-driving would be nice so you could play video games, nap, etc. lol to the future.

Nice awesome concept ev three wheel hubs the one on like is number two
some of these alternate forms of transportation are ready nice.
It's not just about the need for speed; it's about what that speed represents-cutting-edge tech, power, and the freedom to just fly (responsibly and within legal limits, of course).
...JUST LOADED UP ON SOLO STOCK ...SOMETHING WONDERFUL IS GOING TO HAPPEN..
Nice! Let us know how that turns out.
Very cool
Very cool. Thanks!
Thank you for the very in-depth feedback. The Aptera is great, but Ford also has a fully-electric F-150 coming soon!

They used to put one wheel in the front on Golf carts but it made them less stable and more likely to tip over on it's side in a turn.
Eventually most cities, especially in Europe will ban large polluting vehicles from the centers, that's where these microcars will be needed. BTW I love that they show the narrow ones parking between cars so that people including the ev driver can't get in or out of them! 😊

We need quad solar e-vehicles that can go where bikes do, so that we're not limited on which road we can use, and we can skip the insurance

Or almost anywhere within a city area.
Brenda, that is not true NEV regs in most states will allow you to cross highways, or as long as the street is rated a NEV rated street! in general 35 mph or less.

The core problems with electric cars are
1.) The price is on average 10-20% higher than for a car run by combustion engines.
2.) The distance you can drive on one charge is way too short.
3.) There are way too few charging stations.
4.) The cost of electricity per km is more than the cost of petrol and/or diesel.
5.) It takes too long to charge the vehicle
6.) It cost too much to charge the vehicle on the road
7.) The manufacturing of the batteries are anything but environmentally-friendly.
Should I do a video on this topic?
