    2:05 There are tools used to calibrate your monitor's display in order to get better color accuracy so you wouldn't have to rewatch your content from your phone, tv, etc. to verify color accuracy.
    The SpyderX from Datacolor, to name one, is a good monitor calibration tool but there are plenty of other options to choose from as well

    • @jbnelson
      @jbnelson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Another equally affordable option is the calibrators from Calibrite (previously X-Rite)!
      Nothing against Spyder X/Datacolor, just providing another option for folks to compare!

    4:00 I found the same thing with my PC setup. I moved it to another room in the house with much better airflow and the results are dramatic. The CPU and GPU each run about 8 degrees cooler and the fans are not working nearly as hard. As someone who primarily uses macs, I am not used to having to think about the design of the room from an airflow perspective to allow for the computers' cooling system to work.

    Ok, sunburn tip. I don't know that this really works a few days after a burn, but it will work the same day as a burn. Cover your burn with a wet cloth and let it spend some serious time there. I know this won't appeal to everyone, but as a fellow fair haired person, I find that if you sleep in a tee shirt where you've wet the areas that will be on top of the burn (shoulders, for example) it will literally pull most of the burn out by the next morning. Sleeping in a partially damp shirt or with a wet washcloth over your forehead or whatever is also not as uncomfortable as it may sound. I guess it's kind of the same idea a putting cool water on a finger you've burned on the stove. It just works.

    I use my Studio Display with a Windows laptop for work, and my Mac for personal. The provided Thunderbolt cable worked perfectly for me. Had to buy that $130 6ft cable cause the short one included doesn't cut it. Glad to see you found another alternative for Windows Desktops. Great content as usual and I totally signed up for that stand. It looks perfect for my current setup. I'm always afraid the current one I use is gonna fall over!

    • @krunge

      Does your Windows laptop have thunderbolt connection or just regular usb-c? And does the webcam and speakers work with the Windows laptop?

    • @functionallycool

      @@krunge great question. It has thunderbolt 3. Dell Latitude 5420. But I’ve also used it with an HP firefly 14. The 4k ultra fine 24 inch will work with a windows laptop. Just have to use the USB-C cable. Not a studio display I know, but that does work too

    I think for a display, this may be what you're looking for in a PC workflow, for sub $1000: Asus ProArt PA328CGV.
    32" 2K (92ppi) 165Hz. 100% sRGB, 100% rec.709, 95% DCI P3. Calman Verified color calibrated from the factory, mine came calibrated with a delta E of 0.56 (they promise

    • @wyro1741
      @wyro1741 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bear in mind no matter how calibrated a monitor is out of the factory, the colors shift, sometimes rapidly. And you want to calibrate to the ambient light level in your workspace. So, do an initial calibration and then recalibrate monthly with a Datacolor or X-Rite physical calibrator. It only takes 2 minutes and ends up with a WOW! :)

    I was wondering if you have been able to get a windows laptop with USB-C connected to the Apple Studio Display in a way where speakers and webcam work with the laptop? I haven’t been able to find videos on TH-cam on this. I’m debating getting the Apple Studio Display myself, but for work I use a Surface Laptop 4 and I would want to be able to be sure that I could connect it to the Studio Display before purchasing it.
