The only thing that makes me excited about this is that I know there's some mad genius out there who's planning to use that keyboard and fishing-rod to beat Dark Souls on the Switch
I just realized... Nintendo has no idea what peripherals people want anymore, so Kimishima told someone to disguise a customer survey as a product. This is the Nintendo Customer Survey Laboratory, a modern take on product testing. And it's mostly going to tell them "buy the Lego company".
There's Left Field, then there's this. This came from beyond Left Field, beyond the parking lot outside the stadium, all the way from the other side of the Chinese restaurant across the street....
The people who live where this came from sit around their fires and tell stories of the distant land known in their most ancient legends as Left Field. But few have ever made the journey to see it for themselves, and none who do have ever returned.
Kazoorion Like it or not, it’s still innovative. This hasn’t been done before, and it’s a cool idea for ways to immerse the player. Whether it’s done well is another thing, but innovation is always risky.
WOAH. I just realized how most of these work. The IR camera. IT’S ACTUALLY BEING USED FOR ONCE!! In the back pack for the robot, for example, the right joycon sticks out and the camera detects items on the strings being moved by the strings. This enables the setup to only use two joycon instead of the six I thought it would. It’s genius
except there is a left and right joycon on the head set and so to track head movement and then there is a right joycon in the back pack. so its looking like it requires a minimum of 3 joycons
『 Lui 』 Lol true that bout the 0 gameplay, reviews, and etc etc. But the idea and what they've showed so far has people including myself convinced. But I'm wait till those said things are shown before I shill out 70+ dollars.
Daniel García Hilarious! Nintendo exec’s behind closed doors...”Those EA guys might have been onto something with their loot crates....let’s see if we can get our young fans to buy our cardboard boxes!”
erik fortin they already said they will provide free replacements did no one read the terms on the official site geez but i guess that the internet for u.
The way Nintendo operates: Get everyone excited for something huge and then release some relatively minor announcements instead that are still pretty hype. Announce plans to reveal something that from the way it's phrased, sounds like nothing exciting. Actually make a gigantic announcement that explains literally every little quirk about their console (the weird camera placement on the bottom of the right joycon, lack of a strap keeping the controllers attached to each other, etc.). These dudes are evil geniuses. God damn it has to be scary competing with such an unpredictable company.
Nintendo never ceases to amaze me with their innovation. I don't know if they sold me on it just yet but definetly peaked my interest, especially with the cardboard piano.
Nintendo: we need more motion control gimmicks. any ideas? Business man: we could implement a new camera system to enhance tracking. do we have any old wii motion bars to test out? Nintendo: we have some old cardboard, string and some rubber bands. business man: hold my beer.
Walther Penne no game company legitimately cares for their customers, Nintendo just gives off the illusion that they do better. how is the switch "anti-consumer"? how is labo anti-consumer? the majority of paper made today comes from tree farms, sections of forest that would not exist if there was no paper industry, there is little to no harm to the environment caused by the manufacture of paper, and cardboard.
Walther Penne just because some people can't understand that the switch is a hybrid console doesn't mean it's anti-consumer, the fact that it comes in the form of a tablet shouldn't change anything, it's still a console, and $300 is not bad for a console, it's the exact same price as the wii-u's launch. the availability, however was pretty anti-consumer. as for labo, I can't really judge it properly before it comes out, but the average price for a switch game is $60 so the cardboard kit just costs $10-$20, might not be my kind of thing, but I'm sure other people will consider it worthwhile. lastly, you really had me with that first part, I was about to go " not another one of these...", so kudos, and thanks for not being a jerk.
Tucandroll - Way to go dude. I bet it will be something he will reminisce on when he's 30. It's cool to see stuff like that happen as they occur. My ma always reminds me of how crazy I was for pokemon as kid, now maybe you get to see that in your boy.
this video is the very first i'm hearing of labo and i immediately want it. i do feel like it may become one of those things that doesn't last long and fades into obscurity, but people try to remember fondly. like R.O.B. (most people only remember him because of smash bros) or those pokemon rumble toys that predate amiibos
I thought this idea was the dumbest thing I've ever seen until I watched arlo talk about it and for some reason his spin on it has insidiously made me think "huh, well, let's see where it goes." ...I feel like I should be a more discerning adult. (it is literally cardboard)
Jacob Obert if this came out of any other company, I’d instantly be skeptical, but coming from Nintendo? It seems utter genius. It’s also very good to promote recycling, as it’s made from cardboard, not plastic. It’s just, it’s just something I could only trust Nintendo to pull off, and damn it looks like it’s gonna pull off.
The entire video sounds like you're thinking "Yep. This is happening. This is a real thing. yep. Not imagining things. This is a thing that will exist. Yep.
For those who are saying it's too pricey, think of it like this: A big LEGO kit goes for about the same price nowadays and this includes a game, justifying the price in my eyes. This feels like it would be a lot of fun for kids in the 8-12 range & I honestly hope this goes well for Nintendo. It's honestly a great way for kids to be creative & promotes the Switch as a family based console, something Nintendo's always tried to do.
Seniorsucio88 ...You don't need to spend a dime on the cardboard the software can be bought seprete. 60$ for the software, free warehouse cardboard...and can be replaced easily because...cardboard
You know they could just sell the game and the cardboard separately. Sell the game for what it's worth cause it just looks like a collection of mini-games more than an actual game. Then they can make the money selling cheap cardboard replacements and add-ons and DLC. That not only would make the game more accesible, it would also make them more money on the long run
Alex Beyer Cardboard can be obtained easy, and free. It's recyclable material you can get anywhere free. You buy the 60$ Game for your kid, Etc etc and get the template free from Nintendo and build it. Breaks it do it again. Or you can just skip this idea lol
Peter von Feldt It’s not just cardboard, it includes the game and all the materials more or less pre cut. Most toys of this scale cost about this much anyway.
Peter von Feldt I’m not upset because I’m not interested, and actually you can use your own cardboard as Nintendo will provide patterns for free. Source: fr.ign.com/m/nintendo-labo-nintendo-switch/33103/news/nintendo-labo-annonce-pour-inventer-de-nouvelles-facons-de-j
People hyped themselves up expecting the impossible (Prime 4) or some mind blowing announcement. Essentially it's a really vocal minority, everyone else just thinks it's cool and will probably appeal to the target demographic.
They're upset because it's something they don't like. Everything ever made is supposed to cater to their specific tastes, and pity the poor soul who tries to do anything else.
People this days gets upset about anything, i`ve seen people get upset about even simpler stuff than cardboard, and i mean cardboard is as simple as it gets. Let them do their little rant and forget about it in 5 mins till they find something new to complain about.
Cardboard toys that you create/build are a pretty popular thing in Japan, it 100% makes sense for the Japanese market. I guess they're just going to see what happens with it in NA as well. It's definitely aimed at kids as a cheaper and rather creative alternative to VR, so the fact that adults are complaining about it is just silly. Games cost $60, and add $10 for cardboard with instructions on how to make the things: seems reasonable to me. I don't think I'll be picking it up myself though.
But guys, I think we’re all forgetting about the real innovation that can come from Labo... SUPER MARIO BRUDDAS 2!!!! GAME OF THE YEAR, EVERY YEAR SINCE 1986!!! MASTAPEACE!!!!
I was like this watching the trailer: 1 - "Um ... okay?" 2 - "Okay, so ... papercraft?" 3 - "A papercraft piano?" 4 - THAT ACTUALLY PLAYS INGAME NOTES OMG
Diego Ruiz You can make an £80 VR experience as a giant nintendo- themed transformer smashing shit before turning into a car and driving off. Really looks fun!
The piano one takes two hours to build apparently. And that's just one pattern. And even when you take away the Switch components and the game, it's still a toy you built yourself, so kids will have a connection to it. I can see kids keeping it in there rooms as decorations/collectibles.
keep in mind the price is also paying for the development of software ie the games edit: it is also paying for the engineering of a very unique product that has to use a handheld/console to make it. and keep in mind i dont think it is very easy to use a controller or 2 to make a fully working piano. also the piano cant just press buttons on the controllers there are not enough i close my argument -a very fancy cookie
Alejoxon_YT Ikr... people just don't get it. The most ugly thing about the whole story is, that a lot of grown up people are mad about a toy for children. They are really triggered by a toy... that's where humanity is today.
I think it is a decent idea to sell to children, as their imagination is far better for this sort of thing. Also it is about the price of legos for what it is worth, anyway, I would say isn't arlo's cup of tea, but then again arlo is an adult
Yeah, you're forgetting that it has actual software made to let you manipulate it. So the cost is dependent on the development time and complexity of the software.
Yea it's a lot cheaper than making a regular peripheral. Even if they spend money on the software they don't have to spend as much on the cardboard kit. The Wii balance board came with software too. That was probably more expensive.
PS: We have Virtual Reality goggles, that can immerse you in a completely new world, and make gaming take the next step! Nintendo: .......................................... *_Cardboard cut outs!_* I can't stop. _I can't stop laughing._
Watch as cardboard not only makes a higher profit margin, but also both sells more units _and_ has higher customer ratings. This is going to be hilarious.
Nintendo: WE NEED SOMETHING NEW AND INNOVATIVE Employee: Oh! I got an idea! How about we make a complex crazy piece of cardboard Nintendo: I love the way you think. SOLD
I would almost be inclined to agree if it went: Bob: so we used to make toys right? Let's make toys for our games Rick: *starts building rough models out of cardboard* Steve: Stop! What if THEY make the toys?! .-.
videakias3000 It’s basically an expression that means, “Watch this, I’m going to do something cool.” Example; Hold my drink, I’m going to do a flip. Hope this helps a little.
Literally everyone else: beautiful games on a 4K console for 80 bucks each!!! Nintendo: dress up as Optimus Prime with a free game attached for $80 on the go.
Crazy creative. Never saw this coming and I think it's super interesting. Better than buying a special built peripheral like the zapper or something IMO. I personally won't be picking it up but I see the appeal, kid self would go nuts. LABO.... laboratory?
MrRaui Well someone will find a way to set up a control set up to play with the piano Toy Con or some other way more than likely. I mean people have played it with a guitar hero controller so anything possible :3
Apparently Nintendo will also offer a cardridge-only version and will offer the cardboard images for free to print out. EDIT: False information by IGN France. Sorry!!
that's going to be such a huge pain in the ass to make these not already cut out. anyone who has tried making something like that out of cardboard, from templates knows exactly what i'm talking about, and any regular person who hasn't already done that sort of thing a lot is going to have a super frustrating time.
Yeah, these things can be a pain to make. At least it looks like it comes with very good directions on how to assemble. The directions are on the switch with a 3d model that you can navigate around, to easily see EXACTLY where every piece needs to go.
I pay a lot of money to get good cardboard and paper and combine it with used newspapers, scraps, string and glue to make handmade journals and sketchbooks either to sell them or keep. I also pay $90+ on Pokemon tcg booster boxes which, in a sense is also cardstock paper with an illustration. I don't think I can complain about this. I'll say that I didn't see this coming.
I'm not gonna lie, if the thing that turns your joycons into a little RC critter came on its own for a slashed price I'd buy it in a heartbeat. That's probably my favorite idea out of all of them and the most practical one for me as a tired and busy college student. (I'm really curious what the heck the house one is though??) But holy moley this was the kind of stuff I would have EATEN UP as a little kid. I'd be absolutely over the moon and back if my parents got me one of the kits. It also seems like a really cute thing to do for a family night. I don't think i'd be able to justify the price for myself but I'm certainly going to watch as this releases and hopefully more kits are made/announced.
My 9 year old wants this ... or as she put it ... “I need it”! 😂 Not a single game channel on TH-cam ever thinks about things from a kids perspective. Look how well the Raspberry Pi has done. I don’t see it as a risk. All my kids friends are keen for it. If Nintendo sells it as an educational / craft toy it will sell. Doesn’t Arlo have a furry little kid? Can’t you get their perspective?
John James Rambo how so? My point is that for an inquisitive child this has a great attraction. Not sure how you can disagree with that? But this is the internet, people disagree with everything anyone says! My kid wants it to build it and Customise it. The same way they did with their Raspberry Pi. So erm not sure why that’s disingenuous? Happy Gaming ✨👍🏼✨
Walther Penne sorry big guy. I genuinely have no idea what you are talking about. What is $700, why 10, kids don’t just brake things, adults (or big kids😉) do to! But what has any of this got to do with it being a good interactive item for a child? Or that a Raspberry Pi is a good interactive item for child. You think people will still be using their Raspberry Pi’s in 20 years? And that the life of the cardboard (or the switch) is 5 years? What have any of these points got to do with my comment? Not trying to be rude. I apologise that I must not have been clear in my statement. If you have a child it is good to direct them towards fun and engaging items & pass times. I would put Origami, Telescopes, this Nintendo Labo, the Raspberry Pi, Lego, building a tree house in this bracket. My qualifications in this subject are that I have two wee kids & my experience is based purely on my interactions with them. I hope that clears up any misunderstandings around my statement. ✨🙏🏼✨
I wasn't aware that kids were playing with raspberry pis too! I thought it was more of a niche tool for engineers and programmers, kinda like the arduino. Do they know python?
A sentient box check out their website. They are aimed at school kids. It just so happens that a lot of people have found uses for them outside of what their original purpose was. Great for the Raspberry Pi guys obvs. I can’t speak for the whole of the UK but a few schools I know have Python as part of the curriculum. It’s a good first language & a stepping stone to the more complicated ones. She prefers node based scripting like Dynamo/Grasshopper. They use Google Class Room so we got her a Pi to build at home cause she can plug it in anywhere & do her homework/read notes etc. I’m very impressed with it. She’s building an AR alarm clock at the moment that uses hologram videos from TH-cam. Kids these days are so lucky!
o__o ...This is actually brilliant from a business standpoint. Creative gaming peripherals MADE OF CARDBOARD?! Right there, they've reduced production costs dramatically. The production time, compared to making plastic peripherals, is also greatly reduced. I can't help but applaud Nintendo for this shrewdly-designed product.
MistuhRobe also they can break easily (a plus for Nintendo) it’s cheap, and it’s flat light so easy to pack and sell and ship cheaply. This thing is stupid in my opinion and has no lasting potential unless it is made of steel cardboard.
Tom Rohlfs 1. Set comes with replacement parts 2. They replace broken parts for free 3. It's nintendo we're talking about, they seem to always spray some sort of magic potion of everlasting on the materials they use (still no idea how they do it) 4. You can just remake the parts yourself dude, do you have an idea of how much cardboard there is in the world?
Tom Rohlfs I do think someone said they'll be giving cardboard parts for free too, tho I'm not sure what they're sources are for that. A lot of ppl is also saying they'll give the layouts so you can make them yourself easier, of which I'm still a bit doubtful but would be great. To get more info on the matter I've also been viewing a few more videos and it would seem someone "noticed" this is made out of some kind of microcorrugated (if that is how you say it in english) cardboard that doesn't really break that easy
AlbaneEdge that was a mistranslation on a french website. ..Nintendo will offer a free printable template that you can use on cardboard yourself if you need a replacement.
They aren't selling cardboard. They are selling a product that has gone through probably years of development and using cardboard because of its commonness. Its not what you use, but HOW you use it!
yes.. and it's made of cardboard, and kids are going to break it after less than a week. i love nintendo too man but lets not get it over our heads. this is another nintendo aparatus thats going to be forgotten sooner than you can say "wii vitality sensor". its no use giving them a metaphorical handjob everytime they come up with anything. and trust me, this IS "anything". its the most anything thing i've ever seen nintendo put out.
my god the amount of fanboys desparately trying to defend this clearly awful product is actually disturbing. Please, look inside yourself. You ALL know that it is bad. don't make this another wii u at lauch situation.
Boss: "Alright, guys. Let's brainstorm. What's something nobody has done with a gaming console before?" Staff 1: "Play piano?" Staff 2: "Use the controller as a remote control mouse?" Boss: "Brilliant! Let's do that." Staff 3: "Yeah, but...why?" Boss: >:( *Thrown out window*
Yeah, sorta. And Lego is the most popular toy in the world, despite the fact that the bigger sets are $100 or more and take hours to build. So I think that Labo will probably be fine
Okay, according to Nintendo of France you don't have to buy the $80 kits. You just need the software, which is also offered separately. They are offering the cardboard patterns for free and can be printed. So now I'm interested. EDIT: NEVERMIND! That was fake news from IGN France all along. The cardboard is not being made available for download for free. So you literally are paying $80 for cardboard. It's officially a shit idea.
Here's the source for those asking, or at least a page with the source: nintendoeverything.com/nintendo-labo-kits-apparently-not-mandatory-cardboards-pattern-will-be-offered-for-free-cartridge-still-needed/
Actually, Nintendo has been researching VR, but they aren't ones to jump the gun like Tiger did with their Dual Screen system in the 90s. VR is primitive, so they are looking for stable fields, like toys, and putting a spin on it. Besides, there are Mario Kart VR Arcade games in Japan.
Probably should've mentioned it was joke, whoops. I was just kind of jabbing at a lot of the comments I've seen about Virtual Console and VR Possibilities. Admittedly having both would be kinda nice (I know that the robot thing is technically VR sort of, but I think that it can be branched out further than, at least from what it seems right now, a quick time-waster).
For price comparison - I've seen this sort of mechanical kit in toy shops for around half the price, but balsa wood and about as large a project as the kits in the base set look like they're being. Meanwhile for something a bit larger, as an adult rather than toy, I've gotten wooden board game insert kits (Around 8 sheets rather than these 25 for a little less price.) So, it's a fair price for what they're actually selling - 25 sheets, albeit cardboard rather than wood, plus the software to integrate with the Switch and whatever the game is (The variety pack looks like it doesn't have great games with it [But... One of the toys you probably don't need that much justification - the simplest project in the variety pack is apparently a little remote controlled car which the software integration is the tablet of the Switch becomes the remote control according to the IGN preview which basically caused me to go 'WHAT'. And honestly the same's true of the piano - you don't need complicated software to make a toy, one octave, piano get decent playability out of it. If the software also comes with some simple grade 1 or simpler tunes that can be played with a single octave of a piano with a playalong illustration, maybe upgrading to actual sheet music, that adds more functionality without much more complexity, so all the better, but that wouldn't be necessary], the robot looks like it might be a bit more substantial a game that comes with it, though... It's an Eye Toy or Kinnect game, apparently responding to foot motions and hand motions to allow you to destroy a city based on your real world punches and kicks based on the guardian article). Also they apparently have printable templates for the cardboard that will be free if you need to recreate because your kid breaks it beyond what's repairable with duct tape and glue, though that would need a knife so that's definitely a parent activity based on the IGN France and Guardian previews of it. Not for me, but I'd have loved it as a kid and it looks like a solid introduction to modelling, at a reasonable price point but there's an asterix on the 'reasonable' there since you have to think about what you're actually getting for it to look reasonable - It's not obviously good value like it could have been had they split the variety pack into £10-20 smaller packs even at a larger overall price just to more cartridges. And making the consumer think to realize it's a good price is not a good position to be in at the market - There are other children's modelling kits that this is competing against with better materials for cheaper, but much smaller in scope (Around a fifth the size of both of these) for what you can make from them and without the video game interactivity. Perfect for 5-10 year olds, with emphasis on 6-8 I think, though I suspect 5--6, maybe 7, will need help from a parent to put it together, but you get children's modelling kits that need glue aimed at older kids who aren't even in the tweens yet so older within that demographic should be able to put them together themselves. More subtly - I guess we know why they put IR cameras on the Joycons now. And I hate the term toy-con.
“It’s a little pricy” this is the company that sells the dock for $90, a single joy con strap for $8, a charger for $30, and joy cons for $80. Nintendo knows their audience. Shit, I bought a pair of gray joy con straps because the black ones annoyed me
0 Error Your lack of faith in cardboard shocks me. Anything lasts a while if its wells constructed and stored right. Besides, its still cardboard. Its pennies to replace.
Regretful Replays I could see someone spilling something on it easily but it will be harder to rip because it’s made of sugar canes (which is stronger than regular cardboard) and Nintendo plans to release free blueprints.
i was thinking it's pricey too but then again, for the variety kit it's only $10 more than a regular game... if the games that come with it are more than standard little mini games (rhythm game with the piano??? i can only hope) it might be really awesome! fingers crossed, this certainly is a really cool idea
Shiroko Diamond Sparkle oh, that actually sounds really cool, the piano rhythm game. I just assumed it would only be a keyboard you can play and that’s it, I can do that on my actual keyboard lol. But yeah, if the games are good like that I can see buying it.
If you consider that cardboard really isn't that expensive and the software that comes with the LABO probably will be a bunch of mini games Nintendo could probably get away with selling 500,000 and still recoup their R&D for this project and then some. It seems like a low risk project to try and push the Switch into another market to broaden it's audience. And it also seems like one of those things that people will buy just to try it.
The cardboard probably costs a penny to produce and the games can't be that costly to develop because there's 5 in 1 kit, so there's literally 0 risk from Nintendo. It's almost 100% profit.
Dominic Mallano Someone gets it. Literally everyone is soaking themselves in gasoline saying how breakable and costly it is. Im here thinking.....guys its flippin cardboard. Its a nickle and dime to replace.
they sell 3 of these and theyve already made their profit also @2la84me1 no it costs US 20 to 80 dollars to replace. it costs NINTENDO a penny to replace. thats some fucked up conclusion you made there
lol they have to play some one to product the machine to product massive quality of this cardboard and programmer to months to program software for it, plus this is kind of a new concept they have to test out if it work or not . it cost alot if you combine all this together , but it basically just the cost of setting up and preparing, if it work great now they can start printing money, if not then all the money used to setting it up will be gone.
I hope the robot one is a first step into vr. As someone who doesn't own a vr headset (tried it and loved it) if the robot one brings more vr games. Then it will strike a perfect balance of cheap yet premium. If this is the case then you now have your first labo customer Nintendo!
Superlative B I like to think this new generation of kids is better than that. I grew uo with toys, and I am convinced many kids, less cynical than you thanks to their inocense, will look at it and think it is really cool.
I feel like this is something like the programmable lego robot kits you can buy and try to teach a class of six year olds programming and then they don't want to do it because they just want to play with legos but then they fight over the legos because they can't work together or share. At least it's harder to eat the cardboard.
but it would feel less like an rpg, they just need to go to the roots of paper Mario and make a new one that has badges and the rpg style combat with more weird characters that aren't just toads.
When you look through the whole video, you can see that there are more things than just those five toys. For example, I saw a camera and a steering wheel, but I can't make much assumptions for what they're for. Maybe the camera is for a pokemon snap type of game? I mean, if it was, I would be really excited.
no they won't. why on earth would an indie dev create a game that requires this to play? indies don't get physical releases either, so it's not like they could create their own labo templates. indies want the largest audience possible, to ensure the highest possible sales - just like any other game developer. the reason nintendo will profit on this is because they're selling you pieces of cardboard for $80. the software/game that comes with it isn't where they make their money on this.
Well, apparently Nintendo is going to be releasing template files for free for people who want to build the toy-cons on their own. I could see indie devs doing the same thing - including a pdf or even a little construction video along with each digital copy of the game. It would be an excellent way to cut costs actually, so that definitely holds some potential for indies.
$70 for this is pretty fair value when a Lego set costs a similar amount. Half the fun is in building it, then once you've built it you get the reward of playing a game with it. I have no problem with Nintendo putting this out, it's such a creative idea to utilize the switch's unique features.
Nintendo as a company is a maniac. But that's why I love them.
they are a lot like that one weird but really creative friend you have but their ideas are hit or miss
Master Ian Gamer Nintendo Wouldn't Be Nintendo If They Didn't Do Stuff Like This
I know right?
Master Ian Gamer this is the perfect thing to do with the joy cons. It’s just...it’s perfect.
Amen brother!
The only thing that makes me excited about this is that I know there's some mad genius out there who's planning to use that keyboard and fishing-rod to beat Dark Souls on the Switch
I thought it was an empty bottle?
That's the grossest thing I've ever read, but I think somebody beat dark souls on a baguette, so it's absolutely going to happen.
What's gross about it?
I wanna beat Mario Odyssey on that Piano.
I can't wait to drop my new fire mixtapes using that piano
"Why the fuck not"
-Kimishima, probably
Suprised that guy is still in charge with that kind of attitude...
Is there an actual reason why the f*** not?
Alienrun,
The guy is in the right place. He, and the new Nintendo teams of course, are saving Nintendo and they are bringing it to the next level.
I just realized...
Nintendo has no idea what peripherals people want anymore, so Kimishima told someone to disguise a customer survey as a product. This is the Nintendo Customer Survey Laboratory, a modern take on product testing.
And it's mostly going to tell them "buy the Lego company".
I can't even begin to fathom why the 2 of you couldn't tell this was a joke...
-_-

Wouldn’t be that surprised if it didn’t do too well, but I LOVE the creativity and ideas.
Innovation at its finest
Man of Matt I don't think it has to be successful to be profitable.
depends on the budget honestly.
That's not innovation lol. It's going to be a gimmick like motion controls.
Kazoorion Like it or not, it’s still innovative. This hasn’t been done before, and it’s a cool idea for ways to immerse the player. Whether it’s done well is another thing, but innovation is always risky.
Man of Matt possible it could become huge among kids tho
It’s genius
PixelTaku
Am I think the HD rumble makes the little creature move in different directions. They’re using that too!
You know how springs, wire, pipe, and wood are all easily available? Yeah, it's not going to stay cardboard-only.
except there is a left and right joycon on the head set and so to track head movement and then there is a right joycon in the back pack. so its looking like it requires a minimum of 3 joycons
I only see 1 left joycon on the headpart though, which I assume would be enough to track headmovement using its motion sensors.
If this doesn't work for Nintendo and we end up throwing it out.... Hey, at least this is recyclable ♻
Sony and Microsoft: We create new ways to play games

Nintendo, no doubt, is the wildcard of the gaming industry. That’s why I love them!
They were a card games company before moving into video games so their being a wild card is fitting.
Ahfree life, they started off producing Hanafuda cards.
Who needs a 800 $ vr equipment when you have a cardboard exosuit
Genius way of rethinking the approach of putting the screen on your face tbh.
Thinking "outside the box", if you will....
-HTC Vive is overrated-
Think entirely within the very walls of the box.
Wait, maybe that’s how they will make their VR
*-Google Cardboard-*
I'm just amazed that the IR camera finally has a legit use
My sister just said that your voice kinda sounds like Hiccup from How to Train your Dragon and now I can't unhear it hahah
Holy shit. It does?! Give your sister a high five because that's ceazy.
puppets cant help that they sound a little diff from humans, leave him alone and promote tolerance
Jordan Sweeto She’s right, he does! I never noticed that until now!
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
TH-cam Theory Arlo is Jay Baruchel
The fun fact is that it costs 69$ and is out the 20 April

Cless I'm down to get stoned and box out some robots
Ernie gang / Mr Bulldops not really i just pointed a fact
who needs loot boxes when you can have cardboard boxes!
:3
Daniel García
Hilarious!
+Vyas Yash
what people noticed in the official site is that Labo replaced the Wii U on the available selections XD
Daniel García wiiU whats the does it even exist i dont recall there being a console between wii and switch lol
Daniel García iisaid
The way Nintendo operates:
Get everyone excited for something huge and then release some relatively minor announcements instead that are still pretty hype.
Man they really thought ouside the box with this one huh? ....I'll see myself out
zeldadonkey1 Why think outside the box when you can become one with the box.
Genius
+Toad Taylor Be. The. Box.
dying laughing
Nintendo never ceases to amaze me with their innovation. I don't know if they sold me on it just yet but definetly peaked my interest, especially with the cardboard piano.
Nintendo: we need more motion control gimmicks. any ideas?
Business man: we could implement a new camera system to enhance tracking. do we have any old wii motion bars to test out?
Nintendo: we have some old cardboard, string and some rubber bands.
business man: hold my beer.
lmao
don't forget the string
😂
Cardboard and string is a every boy's romance.
Hold my juice box (has to be kid friendly)
People really weren't kidding when they said Nintendo were going back to their roots. I mean look at this! There making toys again!
Wowzerz if they were really going back to their Roots then why aren't there any love hotels they own around
Daren Richards hey, give them time! The cardboard love Hotel takes a while to build.
Daren Richards Never knew this lol.
You know Bethesda must be working on Skyrim for Labo with a cardboard Dragonborn helmet and sword right now...
Dying Meme oh all the man children sitting in their basements looking sad and lonely playing Skyrim with cardboard on their head. Can’t wait
Inner Gamer I count Arlo in that statement too
Oh my god this open up so meany new ways to play games.
Inner Gamer The real losers are fine tuning their waifu mods on PC.
Dying Meme DUDE
Arlo: let's predict Nintendo's 2018!
Nintendo:
Walther Penne Why?
This is the closest we'll get to a classic Paper Mario.
omg xD
Nah. The last two Paper Mario games were all about cardboard and paper. Nintendo simply got rid of the Mario part for the labo.
Can’t wait for them to understock cardboard 👍
Space Ghost it already is mate
Nice one
Nice meme.
Oh boy 74 likes! I'm a cool kid now
Nintendo Labo - one of the coolest, most interesting games that I’ll never buy...
Michael A. Robson well, not physically...
I will be buying it launch day. My son and i saw the preview. it was the first time i have ever seen his jaw drop.
Tucandroll - Way to go dude. I bet it will be something he will reminisce on when he's 30. It's cool to see stuff like that happen as they occur. My ma always reminds me of how crazy I was for pokemon as kid, now maybe you get to see that in your boy.
I really hope you and your son enjoy it! It does look fairly interesting and seems like it will offer plenty of fun.
Tucandroll adorable
this video is the very first i'm hearing of labo and i immediately want it.
i do feel like it may become one of those things that doesn't last long and fades into obscurity, but people try to remember fondly. like R.O.B. (most people only remember him because of smash bros) or those pokemon rumble toys that predate amiibos
Jacob Obert wait WHAT?! Pokemon rumble toys?!
I thought this idea was the dumbest thing I've ever seen until I watched arlo talk about it and for some reason his spin on it has insidiously made me think "huh, well, let's see where it goes."
...I feel like I should be a more discerning adult. (it is literally cardboard)
Jacob Obert Now i want cardboard kid for switch 5/6
Jacob Obert if this came out of any other company, I’d instantly be skeptical, but coming from Nintendo? It seems utter genius. It’s also very good to promote recycling, as it’s made from cardboard, not plastic. It’s just, it’s just something I could only trust Nintendo to pull off, and damn it looks like it’s gonna pull off.
Yeah, i feel like this will be one of those things that doesn't work out for nintendo. It will be very much like R.O.B, or like the Virtual boy.
The entire video sounds like you're thinking "Yep. This is happening. This is a real thing. yep. Not imagining things. This is a thing that will exist. Yep.
I'm *still* kinda shocked this thing exists.
when you consider that brand new games typically go for $60, the prices aren't too terribly bad.
It's still overpriced. This is 1-2 Switch all over again.
HettGutt We don't know enough about the software to make that conclusion
Because 12 switch was a failure. everywhere but Nintendos pocketbook.
HettGutt pretty stupid hownjust because of hate the cardboard automatically makes it a "gimmick"
Let’s say the software is great and worth $60. You’re still paying $20-30 on cardboard.
I want to see an arcade machine Nintendo labor HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE
That would be AMAZING.
Its going to break
Kids are going to rip it
Parents will buy it again chase they fell sorry for the kid
Nintendo hit a goldmine
@@tdplay4135 also, I have the Variety Kit and VR Kit. It's sturdier than you think.
Forget the big ones, just the small Lego kits go for roughly the same price
and aduts STILL found it enjoyable
Personally I’m not interested in it, but I don’t see why people are legitimately upset about this.
I don’t get why this is such a big deal. Rob the Robot, Hey You Pikachu, the E reader, it’s not the first weird thing they made.
Gameboy Camera, Gameboy Printer. Even early in the days they did it. ;)
Don't forget Detective Pikachu, pokemon snap ect
Cardboard toys that you create/build are a pretty popular thing in Japan, it 100% makes sense for the Japanese market. I guess they're just going to see what happens with it in NA as well. It's definitely aimed at kids as a cheaper and rather creative alternative to VR, so the fact that adults are complaining about it is just silly. Games cost $60, and add $10 for cardboard with instructions on how to make the things: seems reasonable to me. I don't think I'll be picking it up myself though.
You're smart lol.
This sorta thing would have sparked my imagination glands as a kid and I certainly welcome its unusual and promising presence.
The robot probably means KNACK 3 BABBYYYY!!!!
Daniel Gundersen *HERE COMES THE MONEY!!! HERE COMES THE MONEY* You like that fucking Knack. Yea you like that knack bitch!
UH OH, DID SOMEONE SAY *KNNAAAAAAAAAAAAACK*
MASTAAAA Piece!

But guys, I think we’re all forgetting about the real innovation that can come from Labo...
SUPER MARIO BRUDDAS 2!!!! GAME OF THE YEAR, EVERY YEAR SINCE 1986!!! MASTAPEACE!!!!
*KINGS. OF. LEFT. FIELD.*
SaraBLQ I know where they’re going on my baseball team
Nintendo:What do we do with all the unsold Wii U boxes
Later this happened
Coolpea this is probably the second best joke I’ve heard all day
But what will happen to those Wii U's. Make them into Switches? Nah they use completely different components.
Well, on the EU site the Wii U has been overwritten by the Labo.
So you aren't that far from the truth...
The kings of left field: The king strikes back
People: It's cardboard this sucks
Me: YOU CAN BUILD A CARDBOARD PIANO AND PLAY IT.
People: But can it DO THIS *Shows DS flipping back and fourth*
I was like this watching the trailer:
1 - "Um ... okay?"
2 - "Okay, so ... papercraft?"
3 - "A papercraft piano?"
4 - THAT ACTUALLY PLAYS INGAME NOTES OMG
Who cares about the piano I just want to see that VR mech
Diego Ruiz You can make an £80 VR experience as a giant nintendo- themed transformer smashing shit before turning into a car and driving off. Really looks fun!
It's a toy. They market it as such.
It's gonna be a fun little project for kids who will probably love all this.
Thumping Thromnambular
It's pre-folded cardboard....
The piano one takes two hours to build apparently. And that's just one pattern. And even when you take away the Switch components and the game, it's still a toy you built yourself, so kids will have a connection to it. I can see kids keeping it in there rooms as decorations/collectibles.
Thumping Thromnambular And the kids at heart
tottaly agree with you there
keep in mind
the price is also paying for the development of software ie the games
edit: it is also paying for the engineering of a very unique product that has to use a handheld/console to make it. and keep in mind i dont think it is very easy to use a controller or 2 to make a fully working piano. also the piano cant just press buttons on the controllers there are not enough
i close my argument
-a very fancy cookie
And also "DIY Stuff" it's really pricy
nice! your argument is bad
Natasha Jones
How can a fact be a 'bad argument'?
Alejoxon_YT
Ikr... people just don't get it.
I mean if this doesnt sell well, its literally cardboard. They cant be losing incredible amounts of money (i still think its a cool concept though)
Probably most of the cost was development, not production.
If it’s via recycable material then they prob didn’t spend much in that area.
They still had to develope software for it
PS: We have Virtual Reality goggles, that can immerse you in a completely new world, and make gaming take the next step!
Nintendo: .......................................... *_Cardboard cut outs!_*
I can't stop. _I can't stop laughing._
Xbox:Buy our shit
Yup, that's Nintendo. I can totally visualize it.
Watch as cardboard not only makes a higher profit margin, but also both sells more units _and_ has higher customer ratings.
This is going to be hilarious.
VR Is a gimmick just like 3d.
Jared Maddox I would laugh so hard if this turns out more profitable than PSVR
Nintendo: WE NEED SOMETHING NEW AND INNOVATIVE
Employee: Oh! I got an idea! How about we make a complex crazy piece of cardboard
Nintendo: I love the way you think. SOLD
thebahooplamaster
Do you just contently refresh the TH-cam homepage to leave spam comments?
The Legend34 Eh, he's just a trademark Nintendo poster. We have tons.
I'm not sure if this is supposed to be sarcastic, I made all sorts of things with cardboard kits when I was little.
I would almost be inclined to agree if it went:
Bob: so we used to make toys right? Let's make toys for our games
Rick: *starts building rough models out of cardboard*
Steve: Stop! What if THEY make the toys?!
.-.
Drunk Employee:GUYS LETS MAKE SOME CARDBOARD ON 420
Reggie:YOURE GETTING A FRIKIN RAISE JIMMY
Nintendo: The Nintendo Switch gives you many ways to play!
Also Nintendo: Hold my drink.
Meloetta Senpai hold my *non alcoholic B E V E R A G E*
that made me laugh way harder than it should have
can someone please explain me what does the expression hold my drink means, english is not my first language
videakias3000 It’s basically an expression that means, “Watch this, I’m going to do something cool.” Example; Hold my drink, I’m going to do a flip. Hope this helps a little.
Literally everyone else: beautiful games on a 4K console for 80 bucks each!!!
Nintendo: dress up as Optimus Prime with a free game attached for $80 on the go.
does it have VR Chat?
I'd rather pay $80 for cardboard boxes, then $80 for loot boxes. At least in the end I can recycle them and do something good with them.
lol imma stop also, "on the go" is funny too...if you pulled out this robot set on a bus, they'd pull over and throw your ass out lol
What have I done?
Define "hardcore gaming". Is it living in your parents basement and being no help to society? (Well, I'm one to talk)
EA: loot boxes. Nintendo: Cardboard Boxes
Butternut Squash
YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Nintendo Labor
Labour* (sorry)
dan sausage normally I would spell it that way, but then it wouldn't fit into Laboratory as well, which is what Labo is short for
I know was just joking
Crazy creative. Never saw this coming and I think it's super interesting. Better than buying a special built peripheral like the zapper or something IMO. I personally won't be picking it up but I see the appeal, kid self would go nuts.
LABO.... laboratory?
Though the same thing.
Dark Souls for the Labo! The true way to experience it!
MrRaui Well someone will find a way to set up a control set up to play with the piano Toy Con or some other way more than likely. I mean people have played it with a guitar hero controller so anything possible :3
Do the invincibility frames apply when I dodgeroll into the side of my couch?
IDK
Ps dont pay attention to the prior comments they were a mistake
i dunno, putting together a thing like that seems a bit
LABO intensive
thanks ill see myslelf out
nice
Butternut Squash?
YES PLEASE!
Apparently Nintendo will also offer a cardridge-only version and will offer the cardboard images for free to print out.
EDIT: False information by IGN France. Sorry!!
A Blob Well, if anyone Is really interested in this then that would be a much, much better option.
A Blob That sounds like a very good decision for them to make.
I'm down if we could just print them if not I will probably watch a few reviews and not buy it
that's going to be such a huge pain in the ass to make these not already cut out. anyone who has tried making something like that out of cardboard, from templates knows exactly what i'm talking about, and any regular person who hasn't already done that sort of thing a lot is going to have a super frustrating time.
Yeah, these things can be a pain to make. At least it looks like it comes with very good directions on how to assemble. The directions are on the switch with a 3d model that you can navigate around, to easily see EXACTLY where every piece needs to go.
The real NX
I pay a lot of money to get good cardboard and paper and combine it with used newspapers, scraps, string and glue to make handmade journals and sketchbooks either to sell them or keep.
I also pay $90+ on Pokemon tcg booster boxes which, in a sense is also cardstock paper with an illustration.
I don't think I can complain about this. I'll say that I didn't see this coming.
How're those 2018 predictions going Arlo?
Lol
It’s $69 and it releases on 4/20. I’m sold
I'm not gonna lie, if the thing that turns your joycons into a little RC critter came on its own for a slashed price I'd buy it in a heartbeat. That's probably my favorite idea out of all of them and the most practical one for me as a tired and busy college student. (I'm really curious what the heck the house one is though??)
But holy moley this was the kind of stuff I would have EATEN UP as a little kid. I'd be absolutely over the moon and back if my parents got me one of the kits. It also seems like a really cute thing to do for a family night.
I don't think i'd be able to justify the price for myself but I'm certainly going to watch as this releases and hopefully more kits are made/announced.
I want the robot game to have more than just bust up a city. Like, fighting an ai bot or even online would be awesome
My 9 year old wants this ... or as she put it ... “I need it”! 😂
Not a single game channel on TH-cam ever thinks about things from a kids perspective.
Walther Penne Plain stupidity at its finest.
I'm getting some 1-2-switch vibes. It sounds good in concept, but I think it would be another glorified tech demo.
Super_JRM
Quite the contrary my friend.
1 2 Switch is really fun though
LucLeader Gaming not really
Super_JRM yes it is. It's a fun party game. Especially with 20 people
LucLeader Gaming When are you going to play 1-2-switch at a party, maybe mk8 deluxe but that's it.
T O Y C O N B O Y Z
*T O Y C O N M E N*
Did nobody notice the Brown joy-con?!
It uses the it camera for all of the things to be detected that's actually really cool especially for the piano
Looks like people weren't wrong when they said nintendo fans would buy cardboard if it has Nintendo's name on it
o__o
...This is actually brilliant from a business standpoint.
Tom Rohlfs
1. Set comes with replacement parts
2. They replace broken parts for free
3. It's nintendo we're talking about, they seem to always spray some sort of magic potion of everlasting on the materials they use (still no idea how they do it)
4. You can just remake the parts yourself dude, do you have an idea of how much cardboard there is in the world?
AlbaneEdge I didn’t know that that is better. Do they come apart to store?
You SEE?! THIS type of thing is what sets Nintendo apart!
don't think its the best example of "setting apart". they're selling cardboard for 70 bucks.
They aren't selling cardboard. They are selling a product that has gone through probably years of development and using cardboard because of its commonness. Its not what you use, but HOW you use it!
How can you even defend it?
Yeah it took a lot of creativity to make, but
It's cardboard...
yes.. and it's made of cardboard, and kids are going to break it after less than a week. i love nintendo too man but lets not get it over our heads. this is another nintendo aparatus thats going to be forgotten sooner than you can say "wii vitality sensor". its no use giving them a metaphorical handjob everytime they come up with anything. and trust me, this IS "anything". its the most anything thing i've ever seen nintendo put out.
my god the amount of fanboys desparately trying to defend this clearly awful product is actually disturbing.
Please, look inside yourself. You ALL know that it is bad. don't make this another wii u at lauch situation.
If anything, it's at least a unique way of doing peripherals.
Boss: "Alright, guys. Let's brainstorm. What's something nobody has done with a gaming console before?"
Staff 1: "Play piano?"
Staff 2: "Use the controller as a remote control mouse?"
Boss: "Brilliant! Let's do that."
Staff 3: "Yeah, but...why?"
Boss: >:(
*Thrown out window*
Can someone with more image editing skills than me make this into the actual meme?
Wish granted: i12.photobucket.com/albums/a225/NixMaster/Nintendo%20Boardroom%20Meeting%20Suggestion.png~original
All I can say is "Butternut Squash? Yes Please!"
fans: smash bros please
nintendo: check this out! *labo trailer*
fans: lol good enough
Snowen This won't effect Smash development. Smash will come out when it's ready.
come on dude
So in a way this has the same appeal as Lego does, where a lot of the fun comes from building it?
Yes.
Papercraft will never reach the level of fun Lego provides. It just can't
Lego lets you build anything tho
I was always too lazy to complete a Lego set.
Thats actually really cool. Could you link the source.
Here's the source for those asking, or at least a page with the source: nintendoeverything.com/nintendo-labo-kits-apparently-not-mandatory-cardboards-pattern-will-be-offered-for-free-cartridge-still-needed/
DrScaphandre but how could you print the cut outs on card board?
There are printers that can print on cardboard, and places like Fedex can print cardboard for you.
DrScaphandre but much is the separate game and how much is the printing fee?
Virtual Console?
Nah.
VR Possibilites?
Nah.
CARDBOARD.
*BRILLIANT.*
ThePotatoKing The robot kit is VR.
Plus, Virtual Console is still in development, and Labo has probably been in development before Switch's announcement.
For price comparison - I've seen this sort of mechanical kit in toy shops for around half the price, but balsa wood and about as large a project as the kits in the base set look like they're being. Meanwhile for something a bit larger, as an adult rather than toy, I've gotten wooden board game insert kits (Around 8 sheets rather than these 25 for a little less price.)
So, it's a fair price for what they're actually selling - 25 sheets, albeit cardboard rather than wood, plus the software to integrate with the Switch and whatever the game is (The variety pack looks like it doesn't have great games with it [But...
And I hate the term toy-con.
i mean..... cardboard is really, REALLY cheap. this probably cost like 30 pence for them to make
You wrote an essay about Nintendo cardboard...
“It’s a little pricy” this is the company that sells the dock for $90, a single joy con strap for $8, a charger for $30, and joy cons for $80. Nintendo knows their audience. Shit, I bought a pair of gray joy con straps because the black ones annoyed me
80$ for a few mini games and some cardboard?! Count me in!
Slapped Potatoes can't tell if this is sarcasm
The biggest fear out of me is buying 10-20 dollar cardboard and having it tear and wear down in only a month...
0 Error Your lack of faith in cardboard shocks me. Anything lasts a while if its wells constructed and stored right. Besides, its still cardboard. Its pennies to replace.
Replacements cost 10-20 dollars depending on which set you buy. Definitely not pennies...
nintendo will release the schematics for all parts for free, so you can create the parts at home
Regretful Replays I could see someone spilling something on it easily but it will be harder to rip because it’s made of sugar canes (which is stronger than regular cardboard) and Nintendo plans to release free blueprints.
When I was younger I would have loved this
i was thinking it's pricey too but then again, for the variety kit it's only $10 more than a regular game... if the games that come with it are more than standard little mini games (rhythm game with the piano??? i can only hope) it might be really awesome! fingers crossed, this certainly is a really cool idea
Shiroko Diamond Sparkle oh, that actually sounds really cool, the piano rhythm game. I just assumed it would only be a keyboard you can play and that’s it, I can do that on my actual keyboard lol. But yeah, if the games are good like that I can see buying it.
Shiroko Diamond Sparkle Eyy don't you dare browse the internet. Get back to work. I am expecting at least 12 more covers by the end of the month
Shiroko Diamond Sparkle oh man, it could even be a mini piano tutor! Without needing to buy a keyboard!
Disappointed that I can't make R.O.B
That guy needs a comeback
I'm not interested myself but this is a super cool idea. If I was 20 years younger I'd be way into that. I do hope it does well.
Guys don't you see how awesome this is? You can ACTUALLY BUILD YOUR OWN CONTROLLER AND PLAY GAMES WITH IT. If I were a kid I'd be freaking out
Eh, kids freak out for everything. even when they see a cardboard in a trash can. lol
Some say they make them out of unused Wii U boxes
Excuse me, did some individual mention of the fruit known as butternut squash?
I would very much like a serving of that at this current moment!
do yu kno de we to de sqash
Its a nickle and dime to replace.
they sell 3 of these and theyve already made their profit
also @2la84me1 no it costs US 20 to 80 dollars to replace. it costs NINTENDO a penny to replace. thats some fucked up conclusion you made there
lol they have to play some one to product the machine to product massive quality of this cardboard and programmer to months to program software for it, plus this is kind of a new concept they have to test out if it work or not . it cost alot if you combine all this together , but it basically just the cost of setting up and preparing, if it work great now they can start printing money, if not then all the money used to setting it up will be gone.
You know, besides all the overhead costs. Yea, it's cheaper than triple A titles, but the profit margin is still probably closer to 18%.
I hope the robot one is a first step into vr. As someone who doesn't own a vr headset (tried it and loved it) if the robot one brings more vr games. Then it will strike a perfect balance of cheap yet premium. If this is the case then you now have your first labo customer Nintendo!
Wowzerz it doesn't appear to be vs from what I can tell as it uses a tv display. It seems to be mainly motion control oriented
Although with the technology demonstrated it's not much of a stretch. Itd basically be better Google cardboard
vr is not simply strapping a monitor into your face...
Superlative B I like to think this new generation of kids is better than that. I grew uo with toys, and I am convinced many kids, less cynical than you thanks to their inocense, will look at it and think it is really cool.
really all up to their upbringing
The cynicism isn't really warranted, I agree
*my biggest issue is that is I won’t be able to put it together*
Where are the butternut squash yes please comments
it probably died out since it didn't get a lot of reactions
I feel like this is something like the programmable lego robot kits you can buy and try to teach a class of six year olds programming and then they don't want to do it because they just want to play with legos but then they fight over the legos because they can't work together or share.
At least it's harder to eat the cardboard.
watch me
Paper Mario would go well with this
Yo, imagine a Paper Mario game for Switch that's like 64 and TTYD, and there would be a kit that is the prime feature for the game
but it would feel less like an rpg, they just need to go to the roots of paper Mario and make a new one that has badges and the rpg style combat with more weird characters that aren't just toads.
No thanks, Paper Mario is already in a shitty situation and this would just add salt in the wounds.
Autistic Dog Yes thank you for saying this, Paper Mario really should be the main Mario rpg.
Yoshikai Nintendragon mario & luigi????
When you look through the whole video, you can see that there are more things than just those five toys. For example, I saw a camera and a steering wheel, but I can't make much assumptions for what they're for. Maybe the camera is for a pokemon snap type of game? I mean, if it was, I would be really excited.
Indie developers will unlock an INSANE amount of potential from this...
no they won't. why on earth would an indie dev create a game that requires this to play? indies don't get physical releases either, so it's not like they could create their own labo templates. indies want the largest audience possible, to ensure the highest possible sales - just like any other game developer. the reason nintendo will profit on this is because they're selling you pieces of cardboard for $80. the software/game that comes with it isn't where they make their money on this.
Battery Exhausted they can't even release physical copies and you thibk the'll do something like this? xd 🙄😂😂😂😂
Nintendo is actually giving indie's physical releases too. Maybe not every indie, but still.
Battery Exhausted: Insane you say!?
Breaking News: Everyone ditches LEGO for Nintendo Labo!
Me: sorry, LEGO...
$70 for this is pretty fair value when a Lego set costs a similar amount. Half the fun is in building it, then once you've built it you get the reward of playing a game with it. I have no problem with Nintendo putting this out, it's such a creative idea to utilize the switch's unique features.
