The gentleman in the hat is Mitch Grassi a counter tenor and sir you were Mitch slapped.
Thanks for letting me now. Mitch slapped that is a great description!
The first Mitch slap is the sweetest lol
The Prayer, Sounds of Silence, Daft Punk, Bohemian Rhapsody ... all will ROCK YOUR WORLD.
100% Sound of silence... you forgot Imagine
And Amazing Grace!
I have a reaction to Daft Punk and will check out all your other suggestions. Many thanks!
There are behind the scenes videos of them making videos, as well as goofing off before and after concerts - you can tell how much they genuinely love each other and love what they do. It's a big reason why I am passionate about them - they are such good people. Another video that will leave you speechless - their cover of Imagine, the official video. Years later this song continues to resonate.
Will check out Imagine. Thank you for sharing part of your story.
You will never disappointed with this amazing group. They have so many songs and we will guide you. TX for this. We Pentaholics will appreciate it. We love reactions. Greetings from South Africa
Thank you for being here! Looking forward to more Pentatonix. Greetings from Belgium.
Welcome to your first 'Mitch slap' (guy in brimmed hat) You will generally get one per song they do. He was bullied about his voice in school, and almost didn't pursue singing. Thank God he did. Show's them! This journey is very deep and often emotional. I'm so glad you're loving your journey with all the new genres and artists you're discovering. Thank you so much! 🥰
Thank you for sharing that story. Glad he pursued singing. I am truly enjoying discover these new artists.
Gotta love that Mitch Slap moment!
Amazing!
Hallelujah is for many Pentaholics their 1st exposure to PTX. There is a reason this video has almost 3/4 billion views.
3/4 billion views. BILLION. It's our first exposure, and it's one (of a few) we come back to constantly.
@@Michele18164 damn autocorrect, fixed
@@jlelliotton even autocorrect can't believe how popular PTX is! 🙂
I can see why. This was amazing.
this was shot in the mojave desert near barstow in the middle of summer!! so they were burning up. i found ptx with this video as i was going back and watching all the olympic opening ceremonies and came across vancouvers. k.d.land sang this in the middle of a packed stadium, on a tiered box, one key light, and no other instruments. just her voice. riveting. and because of that pentatonix versioncame up on the feed, and my obsession began. it was the beginning of the pandemic so there was time to relish every new ptx song. but this one will always take up the biggest space in my heart, not only because it was the first , but because imho it is the best. you may also check out their live version on their christmas special, should anyone doubt they can do their magic live. in some ways even better. keep up the great reactions
K.D.Lang...and yes, she sang at the Olympic opening ceremonies in Vancouver, BC. That lady can sing!! She's done Roy Orbison's Crying beautifully. The emotion she manages to convey in just her voice and gestures is amazing.
Wow what a story! Thanks for sharing.
This is the song that I fell in love with Avi’s voice. Pts is stunning
So excited for more.
I curse Avi every time I hear this song cuz he hits me in the feels like no other!
Thanks for letting me know about this video. I agree : each voice and all them together : It's MAGIC .
Truly magical performance. Happy you watched! Thank you.
This video was shot 15 miles east of Barstow, California at the Coyote Dry Lakebed 7 miles north of Highway 15.
Thank you for this!
Scott brings us in carefully, and then we hear the first full sound hallelujah and it vibrates inside you. Then they do all of the crescendos, ending with the final series of Hallelujahs, and then Avi and Mitch put us back to bed at the end with the hums.
If you have decided you are a Pentatonix fan, you are a Pentaholic....if you are a Home Free fan, you are a Home Fry....if you are a fan of both, you are a Penta-Fry!
I am definitely enjoying all the songs, by them so yes i am a Penta-Fry 😀. Excited for more.
And if you love Pentatonix, Home Free and Voice Play, you're a PentaFryPlayer! 😉 Add a little Vasc Nation for Dan Vasc & the amazing Voctave and I need no other music! (Or for Gospel music, Jeff Fenholt, Gaither Vocal Band & David Phelps!) ❤
Absolutely correct, together they are magic!
They really are. Looking forward to more.
You're such a gentle spirit, glad to follow you on this PTX journey. They are quite simply, amazing.
Thanks so much ! I appreciate that. Hope you have a great day.
I recommend their cover of The Prayer.
Will check it out. Thanks!
Thanks for the reaction. Video was shot in the desert in California. Many of their videos are beautifully shot and just stunning.
Would love to visit one day. Do a roadtrip in the US. Have a great day.
They were also on the Masked Singer as the California Rolls, even though unfortunately they didn't win they were amazing
Introducing: Scott Hoying (tall blond baritone - has an amazing range, often sings tenor and can back up the bass, joyful extravert and often spokesperson for the group), Avi Kaplan (whom you knew already - yes, he left in 2017), Kirstih Maldonado (alto/soprano, was featured in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots for a season, tireless trouper and often the "glue" that holds the arrangements together - when she's not wowing us with her pure showstopping belt), Kevin Olusola (say O-LOO-shuh-luh ...always beatboxing, sometimes singing - including the occasional solo verse - and also playing the cello amazingly well - both orchestral cello and electric ... went to Yale University, one of the best in the U.S., speaks Chinese and Spanish), and last but assuredly not least, Mitch Grassi (tenor/countertenor and perpetrator of the "Mitch slap," with his angelic voice and often unique fashion sense). OH, and I am subscribing for more Pentatonix!
Thank you for taking the time to write this. I am looking forward to getting to know all of them better and ofcourse many more of their songs.
Please react to Pentatonix singing live
Kiss From A Rose
Mary Did You Know
The Prayer
These are all on my to do list. Thank you.
When Avi (usually bass) is singing lead, the bass line is being carried by Scott (the first lead singer)
Kirstie and Mitch (big hat) carry the highs with Much usually (but not always) getting the top notes. Kevin (beat boxer) has an occasional surprise in his singing and cello play.
I am learning so much! Thanks!
Amazing Grace, Love Me When I Don’t, Coffee In Bed, Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Dreams, Havana. I could totally go on, but that’s a good start lol
They all sound good! Will add those to my list. Thank you so much!
@@SaeedReacts. I can't believe I forgot!!! O Holy Night is an absolute must!!!
Great reaction! I personally am a huge Mitch fan, big hat, angel voice. That being said, I agree with several of the others that you must do THE PRAYER. If you enjoyed his voice in this one… that is a definite watch. Also it has Matt who took over the bass when Avi left. BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY… THE EVOLUTION OF MICHAEL JACKSON are awesome. A couple of their originals that I believe you should check out. LOVE AGAIN…SING & RUN TO YOU (with Avi) COFFEE IN BED… LOVE ME WHEN I DON’T & THE LUCKY ONES (with Matt) 🤗💋🥰
Thank you! I will add those my list and check them out.
Thanks for the reaction. Welcome to our world - we are Pentaholics. Subscribed now to see more reactions to Pentatonix.
Thank you so much. One more Pentatonix reaction coming later today.
You will find that their covers are called upgrades by Pentaholics. Looking forward to you next PTX reaction to 90's Dance Medley!
I can already see why. That one is planned for 10pm (CET) tonight. Its not blocked atm so i hope that one goes live then, because it was so much fun! That took me back.
The first time I heard them sing this I got head to toe chills. They are just so talented.
It really does something to the body.
You’re my favourite Ren reactor. Imagine my joy when I saw you reacting to my other ALL time favourite group. Great reaction. Following now!
Oh wow, that is a humbling statement ❤️🙏🏽. Thank you.
I love your Pentatonix reactions, please keep them coming!
Thank you! Excited for this journey!
There's a reason that this video has almost one billion views. Your reaction was written all over your face. They ahve a huge catalog od both covers and original music. They are just as wonderful people as they are singers. Any of their Christmas music is great. The Prayer and their new video Kiss From a Rose are great/ Can' rea;;y have a favorite song as they just don't sing anything that's not good or great. If you want to see this song sung live. there is a lversion on their Christmas special
I definitely see why it has so many. Well-deserved. Will check out your recommendations. Thank you
Their masterpiece.
This was amazing. Looking forward to more. Thanks for watching.

Pentatonix...must be credited with leading the new a'capella genre...after the Sing Off win they were heavily promoted and new audiences opened up for this type of music...
Perhaps their most noticable talent is building tension and release... you'll recognize their tempo and timing on most of their arrangements...
The songs I feel are untouchable by other a'capella groups are
💥...Mary Did You Know
💥...Sound Of Silence...with new bass Matt
💥... Hallelujah..this one of couse
💥... Bohemian Rhapsody
I'm still a 🏡🍟..😁...
🌿🌿🌿
It is cool they brought this music to a bigger audience. Looking forward to explore some of your recommendations.
Recommend their cover of Sound Of Silence.
Will check that one out. Thanks.
They sound as good live!
That must be amazing.
Great reaction Saeed! This is my Favorite Cover by Pentatonix. Flawless! Thanks for this brother. Bruce 🇺🇸
Thank you so much! Have a wonderful day, Bruce!
Thanks for the reaction.
Thank you for watching.
They are known for their "wall of sound" followed by an abrupt quieting. Saw them in concert, there were moments of losing my breath. Run to You for harmonies; Sing (an original) for joy personified; The Prayer for something newer with Matt, the bass who replaced Avi.
That is such a cool effect. Will put your recommendations on my list. Many thanks!
Avi is an amazing bass... but the joy of the smaller acapella groups is that everyone gets a turn at solos
Looking forward to explore more of this world.
AVIII IS AMAZING ❤❤❤❤
He really is. What a voice.
Thank you for your great reaction again! Greetings from Germany Sir ❤
Thank you for watching ❤️. Greetings from Belgium
@@SaeedReacts. You are from Belgium?very nice!I went on holiday there last year.We were in Bredene and Ostende
Pure talent
Amazing rendition.
Enjoying your PTX and Home Free reactions so far.
Songs that you should check out, if you haven't already--because they do a good job at highlighting their individual talents (and, frankly, will maximize your PTX viewership)--are: "The Prayer" (Mitch and Scott take lead) "Sound of Silence" (a good introduction to Matt who replaced Avi as bass after Avi went solo--leaving on good terms, I should add), "Bohemian Rhapsody" (because it's insane) "Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone" (features all of them) and "Kiss from a Rose" (live and new, but I would recommend waiting until at least after "Sound of Silence" so that you get to know Matt's earlier voice first) and lastly "Sing" and/or "Love Again" (originals). I know... it's a lot of Pentaholics fanboy info to sift through, but you will get these same comments over and over and almost every song has its own unique merits unlike many artists that have several throw-away songs that yo never hear but twice.
And in case i do not reply to another topic for a while (I usually don't comment much) best of luck in growing your channel.
Thank you for taking the time to comment! I really appreciate that! I will check your recommendations out.
Awesome Reaction!! Thanks so much -- Love PTX!!
Thank you!
Thank you for the great reaction! See you in the next one!
Thank you so much! Have a great day!
Subbed for more!! Love you're reaction to them and look forward to watching your journey. They will never fail you! 🩷
Thank you so much. Excited for this journey.
I just subscribed, hoping for more Pentatonix. Great reaction. Everything they do is so good. You can't go wrong with whatever you pick.
Thank you so much! Will definitely explore a lot more of their music.
I love your reactions. I hope you also react to o holy night, amazing grace, the prayer and can you feel the love tonight. These ones are unbelievable. 😊🥹 I had goosebumps all over my body when I listened to these songs.
Those are on my list and hope to get to them soon. Thank you!
I'm here for the Mitch slap. Hope it does not disappoint!
Welcome to the magical world of PTX. 5 musically gifted aliens. Check out their live performance of hallelujah as well
Thank you so much! Will listen to that one!
Such a great song and performance, they are a phenomenal group. You gotta check out Kurt Nilsen singing this
Will have to check that out at some point.
I love that you're reacting to Pentatonix ~and~ Ren. They're pretty much the only reactions I watch. They're both so interesting, talented, and jaw-dropping.
Love how creative they are. And different as well. That's the beauty of this artform. Have a great day.
'If you react to PTX, the Pentaholics will come'. From the Book of Ancient Pentatonix Folklore. Nice reaction. You got my sub. ❤Take care all.
Thank you so much, Raymond. Have a wonderful day.
Loveeeeeeee❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bravo Saeed !! This is about as good as it gets !! 🎼🎼🎼🎼🌬♠️🌬🎼🎼🎼🎼
Thanks! This was truly amazing.
@@SaeedReacts., You haven't hit their renditions of The Prayer, O Holy Night, Say Something, Shallow, or Kiss From A Rose yet!!
Beautiful rendition of Hallelujah with a choir feel to it; they're voices together are magical. Please check out k.d. lang at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Opening ceremony sing this song. She is a phenomenal singer with the voice of an angel. Please also listen to her sing "Crying @ MTV Unplugged" ( a Roy Orbison cover) and my favorite song by her "Constant Craving". Roy Orbison is a wonderful artist from the 60's with an impressive vocal range and a lot of hits. Definitely worth diving into. Hope you don't mind all the suggestions.
Will check that out at some point. Thank you!
You need to see their beginning on the Sing Off.
Will see if i can find this. Looking forward to it.
Like almost all of their official videos (the exceptions being the "Evolution of" videos and some of their earliest music, from before they had a publisher) this was lip-synched to the studio recording. That doesn't mean that they weren't singing - actually singing the song is how Pentatonix lip-synchs - it just means that it's impossible to get proper audio recordings on location and they already have good audio that they recorded for the album, so why bother?
This was shot in the Mojave Desert, outside of Barstow, California. Because they released "Hallelujah" on a Christmas album they felt that they should be dressed for winter weather, even though the temperature was about 100° F (~37.8° C), so they were sweating profusely under all that clothing. Additionally, they were off-road and terrified that they'd get lost if they had to find their way back after dark, but they wanted to catch Mitch's hat eclipsing the setting sun, so they rushed through the shoot as fast as possible and then got out immediately. Oh, yes. And Kirstin had an injured foot or ankle and was unable to walk with them; it was as much as she could manage to just stand there while the men walked up behind her. Basically, they spent a thoroughly miserable evening obtaining one of their best loved and most iconic videos.
Thank you so much for sharing this story. It definitely paid off. This was amazing.
Try one of their newest one - Kiss From a Rose.
I will check that one out. Thank you!
Check out “Kiss From A Rose” cover, Kevin Olusola plays cello and beatboxes on that one. You should check his solo work out on TH-cam also. Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi have solo work out in addition to their Pentatonix work. Check it all out, you won’t regret it!!
That one is on my list. Thank you!
try 'mad world', 'prayers for this world', 'can't hold us', 'la la latch'.
Will add these to my list. Thank you.
She's cute 😍
Id love to hear a reaction to Havana sometime
Will add it to my list. Thanks!
My day is not amazing. But thanks for trying.
Hope it will get better soon.
