Nightwish/Floor news: 1) Nightwish just recorded a video clip for the upcoming album; 2) the upcoming nightwish album is being mastered; 3) the live DVD (Buenos Aires Concert 2018) is also being mastered; 4) Floor is going to join finnish/swedish singers in the project Raskasta Joulua in December, in Finland, to sing "metal christmas" songs; 5) In January Floor will tour with Beste Zangers' band in the Netherlands to play the TV show songs and other songs form her catalogue (After Forever, Revamp and Northward); 6) Nightwish will release the album in spring 2020; 7) World tour kicks off in late April/2020... So yes, you're right: a lot is going on.
And all those January concerts are sold out, in ONE day. Just today Floor wrote, she might think to get few concerts more. If she find time...
And Marko´s solo album from this year, English version will come out January.

Like someone else said Emma sang Strong which Floor wrote for her mother. Floor makes people cry but Emma made Floor cry. It was a very good performance.
Henk Poort, the most elderly guy there, he is operatic baritone. Floor will perform "Phantom of the Opera" duet with him. Check out his cover of the Disturbed's cover of "Sound of Silence". In that episode Floor was sitting there in the middle and everyone else was singing something for her. He went with covering Disturbed for her. Seven singers there, each episode six of them are singing one song each that is somehow special to the seventh person that isn't singing that night. In the first episode Floor was singing German aria "Vilja Lied" for Henk Poort and he was the only one not singing that time. Floor wasn't singing in the fourth episode. Several times Floor covered the biggest hit song of the artist that was in focus. Previous time Floor did a cover of Lady Gaga because it was for that young girl that was so far only doing TH-cam covers herself and came to the show as the only one with no songs to her name. She already got a record contract now, as she was amazing through the show.

Floor is really busy. She just finished the recording for the new Nightwish CD. Last week she did the video for the first song from the new CD. Yesterday she announced she would be doing a 6 city tour of the Netherlands where she will perform all of the songs from Beste Zangers as well as some other songs from her 20 year musical career. Today all 6 shows were sold out. She is gaining a lot of attention from the Beste Zangers show. She will also appear in 12 Heavy Metal Christmas shows which are a tradition in Finland.It is called "Raskasta Joulua" which translates to "Heavy Christmas" starting November 11 and ending on December 14.Her fame is growing within her home country of the Netherlands thanks to Beste Zangers and of course her incredible talent! Great reaction video as usual boys!
Whoever compiled this group of singers for this show should be applauded. This group could go on tour together and have sold out shows. An album of the entire season would be amazing.

Someone mentioned watching Denise Hof's English translations of the show already but yes, do. I love the concept of the show, each week one singer is "featured" (the person on the center sofa), and the others sing songs that have meaning to that person or which they wrote. Winner was written by Tim Akkerman for this brother.

Some really good performances on the show as well as some of last years show with other singers.

What I like about the comments section here is that it's not all about Floor, who's undoubtedly up there with the best, but also about the show and the others. Which is the purpose of the show: to not just get lyrical (bordering hysterical) about your favorite, but to get to know other artists and different takes on songs, in an intimate and uplifting setting. Keep it up!

This episode was for Tim Akkerman, he wrote this song. In every episode the one who sits in the middle next to the presenter, the rest is singing for. Wether it is a song close to that person or written by, in this intimite setting you get great things. This season the group is very versatile and every member is worth checking out! Emma Heesters sings a very personal song(Strong) to Floor, Floor's Vilja was for Henk Poort and so on. Ruben Anninck is something too;) He carries a nice warmth in his voice.

Watch the english translation of the 1st episode. It'll explain a lot, not the least of which is who the other singers are :). Most of us originally came to see Floor only, but stayed for the whole thing...lots of good feelz in these shows. You should definitely check out the episode where Floor is the one in the spotlight, where the others sing to her. Floor announced 6 shows in the NL in January with the backup band of Beste Zangers, and they sold out in about a day. Lucky folks who got tix to one of those shows!

Everything Henk Poort (the older gentleman) has done has been great, but especially I think the song he sang for Floor - Sound of Silence.
This song is written and sung by Tim, the guy with the blonde curly hair. He wrote the song for his wheelchair bound brother and it's about, despite his adversity, he never complains and just keeps carrying on. Floor was inspired by the song and so she sang that for him. This is also why, despite trying his darnedest to hold back, Tim can't hold back his tears and that is despite him saying that he won't cry. His album was also called "Lions Don't Cry" and Floor got him to cry.
The show's premise is that every week, one of the people on the sofa is in the spotlight and the others then sing songs, either from their own repertoire, or songs that meant a lot to them personally growing up and cover it for them. At the end, the person in spotlight chooses whom she wants to raise her glass to and then everyone cheers for that person.
The show is very good, as it is all about covers and either done in the style of the singer who's covering, or sometimes the singers steps out of their comfort zone, i.e. Henk Poort covering Sound of Silence, not the Simon & Garfunkel one, but the Disturbed cover, including growling. As an opera singer, it is not something he would be expected to be capable of, but he surprised everyone.
I think every single one of them is worth checking out, and i think you will too.

Great reaction as always and Floor now has a solo 6 city tour in January in her homeland (sold out in hours) based on the songs of this show (hope she takes the studio band with her which knowing Floor she will). I believe all the Nightwish November 24, 2020 date in Amsterdam are near sold out (17,000 seat arena). I now worry that small venues in North America will not last so we need to be ready to go when those dates are announced.
The guy on the couch wrote this song to acknowledge and honor his brother who was born with Spino Bifida and for whom life is more of a struggle, although he never complains about it.
BTW: This song is now #1 on the charts in the Netherlands, even in iTunes. And the entire season will be available for purchase when it is complete. Additionally, Floor just announced a short solo tour in the Netherlands where she'll be playing these songs... The tour sold out in 3 days.

From my understanding of the show from watching Denise's translations, the concept of the show is 7 different singers from different genres of music in the Netherlands, most of which are known and popular there. Funnily enough, Floor is big everywhere else around the world, but completely unknown in the Netherlands. Each episode will spotlight a singer, who sits on the center couch, while the other singers will sing songs they've written or recorded, or songs that have a serious meaning to their lives. For example: Episode 1 was Henk (the old guy). Floor sang Vilja Lied for him, because she knew him from the Phantom of the Opera and sang that song at the conservatory she trained at. Vilja Lied was a song that Henk's mother would sing for him as she also was in the opera. So it had special meaning to him.
Episode 2, Floor sang Mama, which was the older blond's folk song. Floor sang that because she's close to her mother as well.
Episode 3, Floor sang Que Se Siente, which was a salsa song that Rolf wrote. She turned that one into a latin rock ballad.
Episode 4, Floor sang About Love, I Don't Know a Thing, which was a song that Ruben wrote. Ruben is the youngest one there, and wrote that about being a child coping through his parent's divorce. So it hit home for everyone.
Episode 5, Floor sang Shallow. I haven't caught up with that one.
And then of course, this episode, Winner. That was Tim's song to his brother, who is in a wheelchair, and for him to never give up and cheer him on.
So keep track of who the singer is on the middle couch, as that episode is all for them, especially the looks on their faces when Floor sings. There hasn't been a single episode where she has not made the featured singer on that center couch cry.
Honestly, they are all worthy of checking out. I'm surprised you haven't already done it. It'll be worth your time!
Definitely look at Emma Heesters performing Strong, a song from Floor’s former band After Forever. It was written for her mom dealing with chronic pain most of her life. It struck a chord with Emma because her mom fought through cancer and beat it. Very emotional segment.
There’ve been comments already about Emma Heesters doing ‘Strong’. There were two other songs done for Floors week that were Nightwish songs but this one was written by Floor herself in After Forever. One of my fave performances of the show.

Yes you should check out the other singers! Definitely Rolf Sanchez doing Hotel California, Henk Poort doing Sound of Silence, and especially Emma Heesters doing Floor's own song, Strong from Floor's After Forever days. All three I recommended are from the same show in which the focus was on Floor, and everyone on the couch sang to her. I actually recommend finding them all, but those three are my personal favorites from the show. Seeing Floor get emotional at Emma's performance is heart melting.

Later on this year, Floor is doing like 6+, solo shows in the Netherlands. The # is growing. As they have all sold out in a single day. She will be having the same band that is in the tv show, to back her. Singing songs she did in the show as well as some of her other non-Nightwish songs.

Sound of silent, hotel california, I am your man, Mr president and so on... The song in here is made by Tim... so Many Great singers and song in this show.
The song was written by Tim Akkerman ( the dude in the middle of the couch with the curls )
He was the frontman of a dutch band and is well known in the Netherlands.
He wrote it for his brother, who was born with some sort of spinal deformety, as a tribute of sorts, because his brother never complains about the hand he was dealt.
Floor selected this song to cover because of what it means to Tim.

When she goes raspy she has Bonnie Tyler / Heart rings to her voice. Her ability to go from crystal clear opera to pop to raspy to soft to growls, her versatility on top of the quality of her vocals is quite unmatched and always impressive. Lots already said it but you should watch the songs in context of the show (props to Denise for the translation), it gives each cover greater meaning. Overall the show's concept is great and allow different genres of singers to mesh and recognize each other without competition and is actually pretty good

Denise Hofs has translated the shows and posted them with English subtitles. It adds a lot to see the interactions of all the singers. They are all very good. The episode with Floor on the couch is great. Watch the first episode where they admit that only Henk and Tim actually knew of Floor. As to this song, Tim wrote it for his brother who is confined to a wheelchair.
All of Floor's stuff from Beste Zangers is on spotify. Also, all of the singers are pretty good. Not Floor level, but Floor is in a universe of her own.

A few outstanding performances: Emma Heester's (young blonde) cover of Floor's song "Strong"...brought Floor to tears. Henk Poort's (elder gentleman, operatic baritone) cover of Disturbed's version of "Sound of Silence" is astounding. Rolf Sanchez covered "Hotel California" with a Latin/Caribbean flair, and it's shockingly good!!!

all of the artists are top notch. I went to hear Floor because shallow was in my recommend. I have watched 6 of 7 episodes, before and after subtitles were contributed as one of the commenters added. Tim Akkerman is the artist for this episode and his rendition of NEMO is awesome.
