You succeeded to grap also the emotions which happens in this show. Yes, it's about the songs. But the stories around it makes it complete. Put it in context. Does not happen often with reviewers. So 👍
Untill this show, 95% of the Dutch never heard of her (because she was far away from mainstream music).
After the first song she did in this show, Holland became crazy for her. Nightwish had to put in an extra concert which sold out like hot bunnies.
It's a bloody shame ! But now the dutch know ;-)
Crazy how Holland never heard of her. The country isn't that large, and I would have thought she was popular enough to of had recognition, much like that of Amy Lee in her own country.
@@nicholaslindsey7087I think that Evanesence is closer to mainstream than the bands Floor was in, especially After Forever and Revamp. Those bands had a very small fanbase in Holland and were unheard on the radio stations.
@@nicholaslindsey7087 Well you know this has all to do with the popularity of metal. In the Netherlands there are no radio stations where metal is played. And when I tell someone I like metal, the reaction is OMG metall? bleeaahh that is aggressive and stupid music. Well you've got the point.

This is a very powerful performance. It's Floor's total mastery when she drops the emotional bomb at the end.
I just love that Henk didn't just raise his hands but actually even threw up the horns at 7:04! :)

Floor can wipe my tears away any time.
She actually sang for everyone. Every episode one of the artists is the guest of honor and all the others sing to them. All of Floor's songs were gold (also each very different, to show her versatility). The first episode she sang Vilja Lied (in German) for Henk Poort, she sang in Spanish for Rolf Sanchez (even though she doesn't speak Spanish). So I highly recommend watching more.
As for the other singers, I suggest you watch the songs they sang when Floor was the guest of honor, because they all brought their A game that episode.
Also really appreciate you're watching the extended video's with the context around the songs. That really adds to it.

She could sing a cookbook and make you cry, a funeral dirge and make you smile, or anything at all and make you dream. I am like a puppet on her strings when she sings. Amazing is an inadequate word.

Tim Akkerman has a nice craspy voice in his original song. That's why Floor also did that crasp there.
I don't actually like the genre and because I didn't know the original song, I listened that before I watched this video.
I think when you react a cover song that nobody knows, might be a plus if you also listen the original song in your reaction video before the Floorgasm version.

Tim Akkerman's rendition of "Nemo" is pretty good. Emma also deserves some screen time - her rendition of After Forever (Floor's first band)'s "Strong" as well as her duet with Henk "Vivo Per Lei" are amazing.

I think Floor and Tim were classmates in the first year the Rock Academy existed. After that, they regularly met at rock concerts, so they know each other well and for a long time.
No, he knew her from the festivals where they both preformed. 20 years ago.

FYI, Floor considers herself to be a tech nerd when it comes to her voice. She knows, and is able to execute, all the styles and techniques that exist, and she also knows how to use what and when for which effect. Add to that the fact that she sings with emotion all the time, from deep in herself, and that explains why she manages to strike a chord every time again, and manages to touch everybody with every song.
She is a masterful singer and performer who does both singing and performing from the heart. I just love it.

Great reaction again on a great performance as expected by our "Wonder Floor". After the Beste Zangers show, Tim Akkerman was so touched and impressed by her, that he invited her to perform that song in a duet on a live TV show for the annual 2019 Dutch Olympic Committee*Dutch Sports Federation award show last december.
Man,... when Floor takes over her part, she really shines, ...just like her silver dress with her golden belting voice !! Wow the shivers all over ! She is something else and well deserves all the present success!🤘

The show in Germany is pretty crappy because there is no comparable artist IMHO. That season of Beste Zangers really seems to have exactly the right combination of singers.
