The guy on the couch is Rolf Sanchez. This was his chart topping song. He sang is with a latin vibe and Floor "rocked" this one right out of the park... You can now buy it as a single. Floor does not speak Spanish (Mama was sung in Dutch and the aria from the Merry Widow was sung in German.)

The Guy going mental on the sofa is Rolf and Que Se Siente is his song, Floor repurposed it from a swinging latin inflected song to a rocky masterpiece and one of the things I adore about this clip is how much Rolf is absolutely into it.
From his very first reaction on the first show, Rolf is in absolute awe with the Queen!
@@flavio_spqr I think in large part because they are all singers, they know how hard some things can be to sing and how hard it can be to sing different types. So maybe that makes it more impressive ?

The original singer and composer of this song, a no1 song that was previously a dance song and Floor made it that masterpiece and blew him away!

You must listen to Rolf Sanchez's original, it's _totally_ different. Floor made awesome job with this salsa song converting it to rock. I love that nice "Nightwish-chord" she added in the song (E minor 7 flat 5) Here 2:30 you can see how it affects to Rolf too!
Her linguistic skills are amazing too. I've heard her singing in English, her native Dutch, German, Italian, now Spanish and even in my language Finnish too, and it was almost perfect Finnish... and believe me Finnish is very hard to learn and articulate for any foreigner.

She turned the original salsa song into her own version 🧡. First song she did was in German, second in Dutch and this one Spanish (she doesn't speak Spanish).
Floor changed it because she couldn't do the salsa version, so she decided to Rock it out instead. Rolf loved it because he never once thought of his song as a Hard Rock song.

The guy reacting to her is in the "hot" seat normally sings this; it hit #1 on a Spanish speakers chart. Yes he speaks Spanish; born in the Dominican Republic but family moved to the Netherlands when he was young.
He is Dutch by birth (Ede 1992), and Dominican because of (I think) his mother, so his parents probably lived in the Netherlands before he was born.
His mother is Dominican and his father is Dutch. He is a well known singer in Latin America and lives half the year in Miami on a work visa and half the year in The Netherlands so he won't loses his Dutch citicenship. he works with Guianko Gómez, the producer of Marc Anthony and has had 3 number 1 hits in the American Billboard Tropical Songs Chart; Por si no te vuelvo a ver, Que se siente en Vas a entender.

Having only heard Henk on weeks 2 and 3 I was looking forward to his song choice for Floor. I hijacked the radio at work as soon as I heard what song he chose, every guest at the bar I work at was blown away by Henk's performance of 'Sound of Silence'.

The guy all smiles and in shock (his song!) is Rolf Sanchez. He's 1/2 Dominican, 1/2 Dutch. He now splits his time 50-50 between Miami and The Netherlands. He's a majorly popular Latin/salsa star, and this song is originally a pure salsa number. A very, very good one. So here our Valkyrie converts it to a rock power ballad, but keeps a Latin twist on it. You see the result.
Yes, this lady can sing *anything*, and it's so fun to watch her blowing her colleagues minds. Interestingly enough, "uncle Henk", the older gentleman with the amazing operatic baritone was actually somewhat familiar with her work. So is Tim, the bearded guy. But everyone else had never heard of her...
That's going to change with this show!!!!

Yes she was singing in Spanish. Rolf is the one whose song she was singing. He is half Dutch and half Dominican republic. This song of his was number 1 on the charts in South America for 8 weeks.
This week they sang Floor's songs. They were all nervous to sing to her. Their were 2 Nightwish songs sung. A song from her previous band After Forever was sun. Their is a subtitled video of that show on Denise Hofs channel if you want to check it out. After this week there are 3 more singers that she has to sing to. I hope this helped.......... :-)

Ok, I will say it, Floor can't be more beautiful and spectacular. I can't stop listening to this song, and the original is light years from what I usually listen to, the original song is pure salsa, and though I'm latin ameridan, I don't like latin style. But they changed the song in a way that is amazing and beautiful. I'm in love... with the song. n Thanks for the reaction.
They are releasing the new album early 2020, then going on a "massive tour" (according to Tuomas)

She sings in many languages because of the song is already set. All she does is she them. But she doesn't speak German, Spanish or Italian. She Speaks Dutch, Swedish, French & English.

Hi guys! You don't fail to disappoint on your reactions to Floor's performance throughout this show. As you already found out it was Floor's turn this week to be the guest of honor on the couch. Unfortunately no singing Floor this week but what we did get were the contributions of the other 6 singers by singing one of her songs or a song from her personal wishlist. I've heard you guys many times now ask youselves the question what this show is all about.
It is about Dutch singers coming from different musical styles honoring one of them (each week a different one) by singing to him/her as described above. It's no competition but at the end of each episode the guest of honor announces by which performance he/she was moved most. The show is also about showcasing how professional singers that don't know each other personally more and more get to know each other and (learn to) appreciate and admire each other's qualities and having a good time with each other.
So, in order to get that special feel for the show it would help to see the full episode and of course, since we're the Nightwish Army, it would be super to be able to see the full Floor episode. Unfortunately......the show is in dutch. A real pain in the ass if it comes to understanding the show, isn't it?

Yes, heroes still exist and this one even doesn't wear a cape. In my book she is on par with the great Ann Waychoff in displaying what fan devotion encompasses.

This is Anette Olzon (Olsson) in the studio version of Bye Bye Beautiful. Both Anette and Tarja have continued their careers outside of Nightwish.

This song by Floor went to number one in several South American countries on iTunes. She can sing in Spanish, German, Dutch, English, Latin, Italian, Swedish and Finnish. There is now a video showing her sing in each language. She's fluent now in Dutch, English, Swedish (where she lives) and Finnish.

How good was this song? It is charting in Peru on their music charts!!!! This was a Salsa song Rolf (couch man) wrote after a very bitter breakup and he confronts the woman in this song with all his pain. Floor sang it in Spanish for him and all her South American fans who are nuts for her and the band. We have 3 more singers to go and a finale where she is supposed to sing with Hank the Opera singer and they are doing a duet of Phantom of the Opera!! Floor has sung in 6 languages that I can recall (Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Swedish and English), hey but who cares she can sing in any language she wants and will sound amazing doing it!!!Another great reaction guys and Stan we are in deep trouble at 0-2, I thing we are looking for our next quarterback in the draft at this rate!!!

Great reaction. Btw, Nightwish had already parted ways with two singers prior to Floor. In my opinion, Floor is the best for that group (and one of the best vocalists in general). I wouldn’t be surprised if Floor is the last singer for Nightwish. I don’t see it getting better than this!!!
No no no, its a show, each day is devoted to a singer and the rest of the singers sing songs that are either his/hers or mean something to him/her. This week is Floor's week, so the rest sand songs to her. Next week Floor will sing again a song for someone else. Hence the variety of the songs. 1st German song was sang to an Opera singer (it was sang to him by his mother), 2nd to the Dutch singer who wrote/sings it and 3rd to a latin singer who wrote/sings it. She has changed all songs though, always giving them a Floor rock twist!

In an interview Floor said that she spoke English and German fluently, Dutch obviously, she said her French sucked but she was ok in Spanish. She also has learned Finnish which I understand is very difficult, plus Swedish and some Italian.

She has sung in Dutch, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Latin, Finnish and Swedish. She speaks Dutch, English, Swedish, a bit of Finnish and possibly German. Her conversations around Vilja Lied suggests that she also knows German. The Dutch usually also speak either English or German. Some speak both.

For the Beste Zangers videos with and of Floor it is pretty easy to get some background to the song. She has commented under each video so far and has given some context, both in Dutch and English. Another aspect why she is so great and loved by her fans. Just a heads up, if you plan on future reactions on these clips. Oh and the format of the show is each week about one of the seven singers. The other six prepare songs that were sung or mean a lot to the singer in the spotlight. Floor has done 3 performances so far week 4 (aired last weekend) was about her, so that we can expect at least 3 more performances from her. And if I'm not mistaken there will be an duet episode at the end, where the singers sing together.

Last Saturday, Sept. 13th, it was Floor's turn to be amazed by the other singers performing songs that are sung by her or otherwise meaningful. All the other participant singers did a really good job, but two of them made a bigger impression on Floor. You just have to react to both of them:
1. Samantha Steenwijk - Ik ben altijd dicht bij jou | Beste Zangers 2019 th-cam.com/video/6kxocWr0YHI/w-d-xo.html singing Nightwish's beautiful ballad "Our Decades in the Sun" with Dutch lyrics
2. Henk Poort - Sound of Silence | Beste Zangers 2019 th-cam.com/video/q_BJaM-UrXc/w-d-xo.html, a way better live performance than that of Disturbed's David Draiman's heavily autotuned one.
What's most interesting is that at the time this show aired, Floor was still relatively unknown in her native Netherlands where this show took place.

Yeah, yesterday she reacts to them singing songs of her or that had some connection to her. Denise Hofs in her channel has the chapter with En-subs if you want to see it! It's very emotional and all the singers are very talented!
The original is a Salsa song...so this version was radically different, to say the least. Floor used some of her soon to be patented "rock sauce" to make it her own :) Floor is actually recording vocals for the new album now (or she may have just finished them). And you can expect them in your neck of the woods next spring more than likely, though they didn't play in SC on the last tour, iirc. You may have to head to NC to see 'em. BTW, my buddy's daughter just got married in Charleston in July...small world lol.

A Dutch friend told me that children are required to take English, German and French lessons in school. I'm pretty sure I also heard Floor sing a song in Portugese at a concert in Brazil.

@@musicismychurch Apparently so according to someone on the Nighwish Discord forum who has seen the play list for 2019 CD release and Henk & Floor are listed for the Phantom. While this claim has been backed up by others on the forum, which is quite reliable and generally accurate, I haven't been able to find anything online to confirm this, Beste Zangers website news only shows the last 3 solo shows but no mention on the duet pairings yet. Ours is not an empty hope.

When floor was asked to join night wish she was recovering form a burnout and had to quit her own band to recover,
When nightwish called she said yes , as nightwish was on a tour and annete olzen left the band , floor only had 48 hours to learn a 15 song set for her first concert.
