  • whether it's romantic heartbreak or the heartbreak that comes from the state of the world -- we're often being asked to hold two opposing thoughts or emotions at the same time. this practice is an adaptation of another meditation i created a few years ago. inviting us to hold both, rather than cling to one and resist another, how can we create space in our hearts and minds for the complexity of this human life?

Thank you. The opposing feeling are always difficult to navigate. I appreciate your words, it’s an understanding I needed right now

Your words are so poignant and nourishing. I've been sitting with this meditation most days, recently. I've realized that a lot of my inner pain isn't even the expected grief, sadness, loss, etc. It's truly that there are so many seemingly oppositional emotions happening at once. It's confusing, so I suppress until I get knotted up and go on for days, months, however long, until I break down. Revisiting this quick meditation has helped me acknowledge, feel, and release pressure more consistently that otherwise builds up. I really appreciate that your meditations go beyond relaxation and allow me to really feel the fullness of life, pleasant and painful, to truly cultivate peace. Thank you for your healing work.
