How nostalgic. The last physical deck I touched was Prophecy, shortly after it came out. Eleven years playing that game, and it took me blowing far too much money for three High Priestesses to come to the ultimate conclusion: paying money every week to get my ass kicked at locals wasn't fun. And now, I'm almost eleven years sober.
I picked it back up after 18 years out the game. Having fun with it since I exclusively play with the boys. Much better than getting zone locked in casual play lol
@@Adamame93 Sadly not an option for me. I have a whopping two friends, one of whom I hadn't seen in person for years, and the other's actually worse at deck-building than I am. Franky, beating him hurts my self-esteem at least as badly as getting zero-turn killed by whatever xyz-pendulum-link pay-half-my-deck-and-three-thousand-lifepoints combo with fifteen cards I don't recognize.
My problem is that whenever I look up advice for returning players, all I see are comments like “Oh what you want is a branded eldlich deck or an XYZ D/D synchro tuner gagaga elementsaber P.U.N.K. deck.” like I’m supposed to know what any of that means. Just tell me what button to press to give me a Red-Eyes Black Dragon deck.
@@Adamame93 Thanks for the reply! I was mostly just making a joke, though. I've found a public deck that I hope is modern enough to be competitive in casual matches. Thats all I'm really interested in. Any advice is appreciated, though. I enjoyed the video, btw. Hope my comment didn't come off as too bitchy, lol.
@@scottm7079 didn’t come off that way at all bro. I understand how overwhelming Yugioh is when people tell you what kind of deck you should play to get back in it 😅 took me a while, but here’s a sample Red-Eyes deck that is worth looking at: Red Eyes x3 Red Eyes Wyvern x3 Red Eyes Black Meteor Dragon x3 Red Eyes Soul x3 Checksum Dragon x2 Giltia the D Knight - Soul Spear x2 Red Eyes Archfiend of Lightning x1 Red Eyes Darkness Metal x1 Jinzo x1 General Wayne of the Ice Barrier x1 Red eyes Alternative x1 Red Eyes Black Flare x1 White Horned Dragon x1 Pot of Acquisitiveness x1 Pot of Avarice x2 Red-Eyes fusion x2 Super Poly x2 Red Eyes Insight x1 Foolish Burial x1 Dragon Ravine x1 Monster Reborn x1 Dragon Shrine x1 Return of the Red Eyes x1 Red-Eyes Fang with Chain x1 Solemn Judgement x1 Solemn Strike x2 Archfiend Black Skull Dragon x1 Red-Eyes Slash Dragon x1 Meteor Comet Black Dragon x1 Heriatic Dragon King of Atum x1 Red-Eyes Flare Metal x1 Darkness Metal, the Dragon of Dark Steel x1 Armillyre, the Starleader Dragon x1 Deck costs around $60 off of TCGplayer if you want physical copies. Main strat is to get Red Eyes Dragon copies to the grave while your main searchers are Red Eyes Soul, Giltia and the new Red Eyes card. The “fun” cards added are General Wayne and Jinzo. General Wayne can be searched by Giltia and Wayne forces any opponent trap or spell cards to be banished instead. Jinzo is obvious and a nod to Joey. Extra deck monsters are hard hitters with burn effects to your opponent or going straight for lethal. Take a look at the cards and see if they fit with your current deck!
@@Adamame93 @Adamame93 Thanks for such an in-depth guide to the deck! I'm 100% saving this comment, lol. I'm only playing master-duel but I am tossing around the idea of buying some cards just for nostalgia's sake, especially since I learned about the 25th anniversary reprints. If I end up going down that rabbit hole, I honestly might go ahead and buy the deck just to have as well. Having a full usable deck would be pretty satisfying, I think, even if I never use it.
@@scottm7079 I’m pretty sure the Red Eyes Soul and Meteor dragon cards aren’t in yet since they came out over the past couple of months in the TCG. If you’re trying it in Master Duel, I do recommend using Branded Despia as the support engine. Their cards have synergy with dragons and have loads of ways to fusion summon. Helps get your red eyes fusion cards out quickly too. It does come with the fact that Branded Despia still has a place in the meta, but it’s closer to rogue now since it’s been power crept lol.
0:00 Understandable. Have a nice day

How modern do you want that deck? Not trying to be a dick, just curious so I can give you straight to the point tips that fit what you’re after.
