Tip for those who are lactose intolerant and have to use whey isolate instead of casein: if you want a thick batter/ice cream like consistency add xanthan gum (about a teaspoon or so, you don't need a lot) to thicken. Alternatively a non-dairy creamer works as well though you'll need a few tablespoons worth to achieve the same consistency which will add more calories.
I just thought that if you blend the mixture to get a smoother consistency, you could add some flax seeds beforehand. This should thicken the mixture a bit too
If you're in the States and trying to find jam like that without the added sugar, look for "Extra Jam". That's the term I've found it under in the past.

For anyone who doesnt want to use protein powder: Use storebought egg whites. They are like 11g protein and 46 kcal per 100 ml, they add great consistency and along with the milk/yogurt, oats, some chia seeds etc you can easily get the recipe to 30g protein or more
@@riskezyou can cook the oats with the egg whites as if you were going to eat them hot & then just let them cool & put in the fridge overnight 🙌 I do this all the time & you actually get more volume than just using powder!
Great recipes I have been following! The only thing is that I have a huge stock of Whey protein, and it's hard justifying buying casein protein just for one recipe. The one tweak that I made is to just add less water! That way you can still get a creamy rather than runny consistency. It may not be exactly as creamy as yours, but for those who wish to still use whey protein, it is doable!

Is it possible to replace casein or protein powder with something else? Or does it ruin the entire recipe if it's removed? I've never done overnight oats so I have no clue about the do's and don'ts
You don’t need protein powder at all, it’s very unusual to add it. I personally add a tablespoon of peanut butter for a bit of protein but just oats and milk or even water will work. Then you can add whatever fruit etc you like.
I made this with 100 g of yogurt and a full scoop of protein powder, and 130 g of water, instead of 150 g, half a scoop, and 100 g. It came out really well
Amazing Recipe ! Can't wait to try this, I've been having overnight oats too but a bit different, I use: whey, blended oats as its less chewy, greek yogurt, chia seeds, and fruits (occasionally I add PB). Just a quick question: Whats the main difference between Whey and Caseine? and should I switch, as I've always used whey, but if caseine is better, I could try that too!

Nice. Protip: Fat is an essential nutrient and will help keep you feeling full for longer and mitigate the carb ups and downs. Most of these recipes are too low in fat IMO. Use more real peanut butter, full fat yogurt, or sprinkle with nuts/seeds/cocoa nibs at time of consumption. You can also mix in chia seeds which gel up adding a nice consistency and help keeps you feeling full. I try to keep my diet at around 1/3 calories from fat, otherwise I'm just on an all day carb roller coaster.
A lot of people who are looking for recipes like this are in some sort of sport (commonly bodybuilding/weightlifting) where you want to minimize calories from fat because you need to hit your protein goals, and carbs provide better fuel for training than fat does. Typically 10-15% is recommended because going lower can cause hormone problems. If you aren't worried about fat it's wayyyy easier to eat intuitively, you don't need weird cutting recipes that all have no-fat greek yogurt and pb2 in them
Does everyone else have the casein taste in the oats or were you able to mask it with other ingredients. I had to always eat some banana with the oats to mask the artificial casein flavor. Im using casein from myprotein
thanks for the video! looks really good :) , I wanted to ask if you can use magerquark instead of Skyr, just because i have extra magerquark in the fridge atm and thought it would be good idea for this week breakfasts. (specially the teramisu one!) have a nice weekend
Hi. I excitedly gathered all the ingredients. But I have tried two of the above and I am rather disappointed. The only two differences I can see is : Whey Protein and Yogurt. Does skyr and Casein make so mucn of a difference?
A reminder to my self to return to the overnight oats as a breakfast option, thankyou. I see that the brands of the food you are using are german and perhaps i might find some of them in my local Lidl supermarket in Sweden.
If you don't mind. I'm also swedish, let me know what ingredients you find that can be substituted with the ingredients mentioned in the video. It will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
My one problem with the reverse scale method is that what youre weighing isnt the important measurement. With anything sticky or more viscous, the weight that you remove is 100% NOT the same weight that ends up in the bowl. Unless youre scraping the spoon clean every single scoop, then youre just putting some of the weight back into the jar. For one scoop its not a big deal, but if you do that 5x or more and dont scrape the spoon, all of a sudden your macros are pretty off from what they should be. I think its better to measure what actually ends up in the meal than where it came from because the only reason i would want to know how much that weighs is for knowing when to buy a new one.
I've eaten this breakfast basically everyday for about a year now: Mash half a banana in a bowl. Add a good few spoons of skyr. Add a scoop of unsweetened, unflavoured protein powder, I think artifical sweeteners taste like shit. Mix all that smooth, will become surprisingly loose, then mix in oats until you get a pancake texture. Instant oats are the best. Fridge overnight, but can also be ready to go if using instant in like 40 mins.
Felu, I remember from your other recipes you like it sweet. Wonder that your Tiramisu Oats don’t have sweetener at all. Did you change your preference or forgot to mention in your recipe? For myself I add some Erythrit and I’m super happy. BTW your recommend instant oats, in the video I guess to see Köln Blütenzart Oats, which are the regular ones in Germany. I tried the real Köln Instant Oats, these are much creamier and make me so happy. Many thanks for your great recipes, I already have your cookbook which is a gamechanger 👍
Probably just me, but I can’t get past the combination of sour and oats or sour and chocolate. I can eat Greek yogurt on its own but this makes me gag. Toasted almonds help. I’m going to try with less skyr and adding a little additional sweetener. Hopefully that helps. The texture is awesome though.
I messed up and ordered unflavoured caesin and not vanilla so my pb overload tastes a little bland and like its missing something, which it clearly is 😂 but otherwise its great!
