He clearly never met Joseph Biden, Obama, Clinton family, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, Bill De Blasio, and Nancy Pelosi. They're leaders and kneel very quickly.... Just sayin....
Perfect villain. Over the top, classic English tone, cocky but reserved. The televised call-out is classic boxing fight material! KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!! - one of the greatest lines ever.
I remember Terence Stamp talking about one of the more subtle ways he wanted to show Zod regarding everyone he met as being completely beneath him, was to have him deliberately not quite look them directly in the face, he does it a few times with different characters & it's brilliant. The one, true Zod.
Terence Stamp was utterly superb in this film....one detail, at 3.11 I smiled as i noticed his natural, Bow, Cockney accent, crept in ....if you DARE!!. What a wonderful yet low profile actor he is...
Absolutely fantastic, just the right amount of seriousness and commitment, with an underlying sense of the absurdity of it all. One of the most entertaining villains we've seen.
@scruffnutz I loved her since I was a young man in the 80s. Back in a time when the America at least seemed like a good place to call home. People know what was right and called out wrong when they saw it.
I am not a HUGE comic book movie fan, BUT... I always like how reasonable Zod was, in this movie. He could have just gone on a rampage, but he could be reasoned with, and talked to. lol
3:01 I love how General Zod hasn't even seen Superman in the flesh, but just the very IDEA of some 'superman' defying him, standing up to him, putting him in his place is enough to send him into an emotional tailspin of rage lol Stamp was perfect in this movie.
@@productivestruggle9489 It's always hilarious how Zod loses his nerve and Superman outsmarts him again. When I first saw the movie, I couldn't help but smile when Superman tricked him into thinking he had lost all his powers. Terence Stamp REALLY delivered as Zod. This movie would never have felt as epic without him. True, movies need strong heroes but they also need an equally memorable villain and Stamp almost stole the show.
Teremce Stamp should have won an Academy Award for this. He goes all the way in. This whole thing does not work if he's not hardcore all the way as Zod.
"I am General Zod, your ruler. Yes,today begins a new order. Your lands, your pocessions, your very lives will be given in tribute to me,General Zod. In return for your obedience, you will enjoy my generous protection. In other words, you will be allowed to live.":):) Classic!
Even though Terence was in the first Superman film for only a few minutes, he shone in it, especially for the defiant speech he gives Marlon Brando: *"You will bow down before me! First you, and then one day, your heirs!"* So, technically, that was his comeback film. But *"Superman II"* was his full on comeback. Gave gravitas to a character that was nothing like the version in the DC Comics. Terence Stamp made that character better.
Strange thing is, he played mostly good guys. His debut was as Billy Bud which established him as a pretty boy actor. He definitely aged out of that by the time he was Zod. I think he would have been a great Thufir Hawat in Dune. Although I do like Stephen McKinley Henderson. Of course, if Stamp had been Thufir, Villanueve probably would have still cut him him out of Dune 2.
I love the fact that despite the fact he's conquered another planet ( earth ) Zod becomes immediately disinterested and bored at just how easy it was to conquer and immediately wants a challenge .
3:00 Terence Stamp can't maintain his slightly posh Zod accent when he has to show anger, instead reverts back to his London accent! "Oooo is this Supaman? Supaman! Come ter me! Cor blimey guvna! You bleedin slaaaaaag!"
Yes, you'd think he'd make an effort. He sounds more like a costermonger advertising his blood oranges than the most evil man in the universe. I suppose nobody could tell the difference and they all moved on when they filmed that.
@0:37, Clifton James. He was a peace officer in 'Live and Let Die', 'The Man With the Golden Gun', 'Silver Streak', and 'Superman II' just for starters.
My favorite line President 'Oh God' Zod 'That's Zod'... And the 'Come, and kneel before Zod!'...as a kid I'd mess with my friends with that line all the time...
not gonna lie, I thought when Christopher Reeve kneeled before him, right before turning the tables was the sweetest moment of this movie. It was the ultimate example of "be careful what you wish for" in response to Zod's "kneel before Zod!"
Terence Stamp played Zod brilliantly.Super movie.
Ursa was the real treat, however. "Superman!!!"
@@marcvslicinivscrassvs7536 Yeah she did a really good job with that character.
J.D. Vance could have played Zod also.
The Zod from smallville wasn't even intimidating at all.
I've never noticed his obviously English accent before 😂 🤦🏾♂️
“You are not the president. No one who leads so many could kneel so quickly.” I love that line.
You are not the president. No one who leads so many could be that senile.

@@shawbros At least he don't kneel to foreign and domestic terrorists.
"You are not the president. No one who leads so many could be so ignorant"🤣
Terence Stamp is an absolute legend. Great actor.
I think it's great that Terence Stamp was also the voice of Jor-El in Smallville.
Perfect villain. Over the top, classic English tone, cocky but reserved.
The televised call-out is classic boxing fight material!
KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!! - one of the greatest lines ever.
Terrace stamp played the role fantastic you can't beat the earlier superman movies
One of the best sequels ever. Actually liked it more than the first.
Amen to that.
I remember Terence Stamp talking about one of the more subtle ways he wanted to show Zod regarding everyone he met as being completely beneath him, was to have him deliberately not quite look them directly in the face, he does it a few times with different characters & it's brilliant.

Glad to have meet the actor who played the big guy working with Zod. Jack O'Halloran was so nice at a Comic-con in Fayetteville, NC.
Lightning in a bottle character and performance. Utterly superb.
"These humans are beginning to bore me" Terrance Stamp was great in this role.
Absolutely fantastic, just the right amount of seriousness and commitment, with an underlying sense of the absurdity of it all. One of the most entertaining villains we've seen.
I really love this version of Zod. Terence Stamp played it as a masterchief.
I read that as 'masterchef' the first time.
@@ppuh6tfrz646 Zod is the new host of Hell's Kitchen.
@@seanwebb605 him and Ramsay together in a failing restaurant- yikes 😂🙌
@@sportinlife1 "Why did you bring undercooked proteins when you knew that I would kill you?"
Terence Stamp's voice in this is just so cool. What a choice to play Zod 👌
His voice (and performance) in The Limey is also fantastic. Same with the 1984 film The Hit. Just a great, versatile actor 👍
Ursa. Was. A. Baaabe. Her eyes and her haircut… magnifique
@scruffnutz I loved her since I was a young man in the 80s.
Back in a time when the America at least seemed like a good place to call home.
People know what was right and called out wrong when they saw it.
@scruffnutz
yeah..... and she likes it rough
LOL
I’d kneel before her.
I saw this flick at age 7 when it dropped. When SM crushed Zod's hand, the audience just went absolutely berserk. The seats were shaking.
Mas Zod's mereceu o *"esquenta"*
Terrance Stamp was perfect for this role. Great actor and he nailed the character.
My favorite Superman movie and villain.
President, bowing down: “Oh God!”
General Zod, correcting him: “Zod”
-My favorite part of the movie
“Who is this imbecile?” Best line ever!!! Love Terrance in this movie
Ha ha. You beat me to it. I was looking for that line lol.
Terence Stamp really did bring the heat to this film
Yes, He did.😊👍👊.....🖖
He was scary just uttering a few lines.
I am not a HUGE comic book movie fan, BUT... I always like how reasonable Zod was, in this movie. He could have just gone on a rampage, but he could be reasoned with, and talked to. lol
I always loved how Zod was almost bored with his powers. Ursa openly embraced hers and Non was like a curious child at times.
3:01 I love how General Zod hasn't even seen Superman in the flesh, but just the very IDEA of some 'superman' defying him, standing up to him, putting him in his place is enough to send him into an emotional tailspin of rage lol Stamp was perfect in this movie.

Zod wasn't the first man on the moon. It was Neil before Zod.
(I'll get me coat...)
This is probably my favourite Superman movie.
Zod was outrageously evil. And also funny...
"Who is this imbecile" 🤣🤣🤣
The new Zod totally lacked his hilarious put downs and sheer arrogance
Terence Stamp absolutely owned this role. Probably my top villain depiction
The always great Mr. Terence Stamp as General Zod.
Superman II was DEF the best one!
Terence Stamp Is Zod Like Christopher Reeve Is The Unique Superman ❤
Man I love Superman II so much. Absolute classic !
Superman II the best ever Superman Movie
Terence Stamp nailed the part so good it was iconic. The remake can top the special effects, but it can't touch his acting.
This is my favourite Superman movie.
T.Stamp is a very skilled actor...he makes every scene believable
I like how the make-up, clothing, and hairstyles were still 80's even though they came from a different planet.
These old movies are so much better at making someone feel indestructible.
Terrance stamp was/is amazing as ZOD !!
I think my favorite line Terence Stamp delivers as General Zod is …
“Who is this imbecile?”
Who is this imbecile? Where is he?
Yesss!
Said quietly, but still menacingly...
Terrance is a brilliant actor
Zod : who is your Superior?
General: I answer ONLY to the President
Zod : AND HE WILL ANSWER TO ME!!
Good luck with biden he can snswer to himself
Teremce Stamp should have won an Academy Award for this. He goes all the way in. This whole thing does not work if he's not hardcore all the way as Zod.
"Superman II" is STILL The Best Superman movie to this day.
Being a child of the seventies and having Star Wars come out and then this was mind-bending
"I am General Zod, your ruler. Yes,today begins a new order. Your lands, your pocessions, your very lives will be given in tribute to me,General Zod. In return for your obedience, you will enjoy my generous protection. In other words, you will be allowed to live.":):) Classic!
For a man with an unimposing physical presence, his voice of villainy was as big and memorable as vader's
This was my favorite of the Superman movies from that era
Sheriff J. W. Pepper!!! Even he couldn't stop Zod 😂
He couldn't stop Bond so HOW would he be able to stop Zod??
Terrence Stamp's rolleyes game is top-tier.
Terrence Stamp is sooo good
Terence Stamp is the best Zod!
the best superman movie

"I win! I always win..."
Literally just escaped his imprisonment in the Phantom Zone.
This general zod is my favorite.

Your favourite what?
I think it is the best one, a true one of a kind production with the best actors.
It is the best one,and the first major film that set the benchmark for fights between superheroes and villians.
Terrance Stamp is a badass..
Superman 2, the best!!! From Brazil
Bom demais!
I like Zod but I also like Non. His little squeaks when he tries to talk are priceless lol
“You are not the president …no one can lead so many but kneel so quickly” Zod was badass we need this type of acting back in DC

Terrence Stamp was so good in so many other things too.
Indeed. Main baddie in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion (Mankar Camoran), and the dark and surreal short story Toby Dammit.
Zod acting is superb
Fucking amazing. Superman I and II were absolutely gems.

One of the greatest films of all time.
I love how Zod is sinister and posh when he's talking and then when he shouts he becomes a cockney football hooligan
THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST SUPERMAN MOVIE EVER MADE!!!!!!..............SUPERMAN 2
Back when villains were pompous bullies and not tortured misunderstood basket cases.
They was space Jews.

The Best Superman Movie of all time!
"So this is Planet Houston... a very strange surface."
😂😂😂😂😂
I loved Superman 1 and 2. Chris Reeve as Superman, that nice costume, the sets, the villians, the humor,..it just was so wholesome.
I thought Superman II was more entertaining and just a better movie than the original.
Fact
My brother and I are from Houston, and we still occasionally refer to it as "Planet Hoostin" to this day.
nice XD
And what leader do you follow??....And so be it, you will kneel to me as well. Pledge your loyalty to me and l will spare your town, Hoostin.
Interesting that Terrance Stamp created such a riveting character with probably less than a page of dialogue.
I didn't notice before that it's the same sheriff from "The Man With the Golden Gun" and "Live and Let Die"! 🤣
There is one who will not kneel before you....."Who Is this imbecile?" 😂😂😂😂😂
I wish I knew.
I don't know who he is, but I know he's a double amputee.

Terrance Stamp. One of a Kind.
Agreed. Fantastic in one of my favorite movies, The Hit. If you haven't seen it, check it out. From '84 with John Hurt and Tim Roth.
E.G. Marshall's toupee is as over the top as Terence Stamp's acting -love it!

President 'Oh God'
Zod 'That's Zod'...

not gonna lie, I thought when Christopher Reeve kneeled before him, right before turning the tables was the sweetest moment of this movie. It was the ultimate example of "be careful what you wish for" in response to Zod's "kneel before Zod!"
I like how Zod is bored with his powers, Ursa is fascinated with hers and Non is basically a child with his.
“I see you are practiced in worshiping things that fly ? Good.”
Love it !
I remember being absolutely scared of these three when I was a kid.
"Who is this imbecile? And where is he?" LOL!!
😂
I love how easily bored he gets when he accomplishes a goal.
