All 3 actors for the Kryptonians are perfect for their roles. Non is the quiet, stupid brute that is a physical power house. Ursa is deceptively beautiful and soft spoken, cold and calculating, until she comes in contact with man and then she is a force of nature. And Zod is the commanding, confident, eloquent leader who’s always planning 3 steps ahead. Love the cast of these films.

Richard Donner provided the scariest scenes in this film. He wanted us to despise these unempathetic, super villains. Richard Lester added some good bridgework in the Lois and Clark story, but the fear came from Donner's work. Overall, it's a great film, regardless of the cut.

So just being able to see x-rays doesn't account for that ability. A Kryptonian would need to be generating x-rays from their eyes, and how that would work hypothetically is anyones guess. It COULD be possible to see around objects, like a box for example, in a similar way that a cloaking device would work by bending light waves around the object allowing us to se behind it. I had always thought the way they pronounced "Hooston" was purposefully meant to emphasize somewhat comically that they were aliens. Lately when I kept hearing BBC World Service news presenters pronouncing it the same way I would chuckle to myself and say, "they're as bad as those villains from Krypton in that Superman movie!" Then I watched this clip and realized the actors saying "Hooston" are themselves British. Now I'm thinking maybe they just looked at the script and read it the way they thought it was naturally supposed to be pronounced. Or maybe they read it that way and instead of correcting them the American director said, "Oh that's perfect, it makes them sound like aliens that've never heard of Houston before. Keep doing that!"

Poor astronauts. When Ursa rips open his suit, you can literally hear him caving in and gurgling! Imagine his lungs literally exploded in that instant. Very painful, but fun to watch 😂 And the way Zod nonchalantly looks down on the other guy like a piece of trash about to be disposed - and dispose of space trash he does with one almighty yankrip of his air supply! Imagine he also gurgled off into the vacuum..... And Non - the big docile but deadly brute who doesn’t know his own strength..... Final astronaut crushed to death unapologetically. This has to be one of the best and terrifying scenes in Superman history.
