- There are some errors in this video so here are the corrections (thanks to the comments)
Dark Samus is technically Metroid Prime who was imprisoned by the Chozo on their home planet of Talon IV prior to the first Metroid Prime game, meaning Dark Samus should be in the has been imprisoned by a govering body/authority in power tier
Pikachu and the rest of the pokemon (aside from Mewtwo) should just be in the imprisoned by a non-governing tier as their capture isn't just done by the player it's done by any pokemon trainer in the game, most of the pokemon trainers being non-governing bodies, there are other examples of Pikachu being imprisoned like in Mystery Dungeon but just capturing it or nearly any Pokemon in a Pokeball is the far more iconic example (the rest of the Pokemon should be in the tier Mewtwo is in but Mewtwo is in that tier for his backstory and not for the reason I just explained for the rest of the Pokemon)
Luigi was captured by Bowser in Mario 3d Land which is the more popular example but it doesn't change what tier he was in in the video
Bowser has been captured multiple other times and you can technically count Cackletta possessing him as a mind control type capturing
Zelda is the Zelda from A Link Between Worlds but her tier placement would be the same
Dr. Mario is a persona of Mario, meaning they should belong in the same tier
If you subscribe to the idea of Young Link keeping the same memories as Adult Link at the end of OOT, and if you include what Adult Link does as technically the same as YL cause that's him grown up then it's technically a player choice to be captured by the Gerudo in Gerudo Valley as Adult Link, the Gerudos being a governing body
Dedede gets captured by the main villain of Kirby Triple Deluxe, who is a ruling authority which makes Dedede go in the has been imprisoned by a governing body/authority in power tier
Little Mac is taken by DK if you lose the fight against him, since losing the fight can be seen as player choice, Little Mac goes with the Links
The Miis should really go in the creativity tier since you could make a prisoner Mii if you really wanted too
Robin is a vessel from Grima, a dragon god, so he can technically be said to be imprisoned by a non-governing body as in Awakening there's a future Robin who is possessed by him
Shulk and the party are imprisoned by the High Entia in the city of Alcamoth so he should go in the has been imprisoned by a governing body/authority in power tier
Corrin was actually kidnapped by the royal family of Nohr IN Nohr NOT IN Hoshido making Corrin belong in he has been imprisoned by a governing body/authority in power tier as the kidnapping was done on Nohrian soil
You can put Jail Cell walls around Town Hall in AC New Horizons so Isabelle should go in the same tier as Villager cause of the creativity aspect
3 of the Heros (The Luminery from Dragon Quest 11, Solo from Dragon Quest 4 and Eight from Dragon Quest 8) should actually go in the has been imprisoned by a governing body/authority in power tier as they are sent to jail by governing authorities, while Erdrick, the Hero from Dragon Quest 3 should go in the has been imprisoned by a governing body/authority in power (but it depends on the player's choice) tier as you can get thrown in a jail by a monster disguising itself as a king in the daytime but if you use the Mirror of Ra item on him in the night, his true identity is revealed and you fight him without him sending you to jail
Pyra/Mythra were captured by the King of Tantal so they go in the in the has been imprisoned by a governing body/authority in power tier - เกม
Hi all, I decided to just have a pinned comment here with the mistakes (which are also listed in the description) instead of making a new video as this just accomplishes the same thing anyway so here they are
Dark Samus is technically Metroid Prime who was imprisoned by the Chozo on their home planet of Talon IV prior to the first Metroid Prime game, meaning Dark Samus should be in the has been imprisoned by a govering body/authority in power tier

Pyra/Mythra were captured by the King of Tantal so they go in the in the has been imprisoned by a governing body/authority in power tier
Little Mac gets kidnapped by Donkey Kong when he loses to him in Punch-Out Wii, and you can place cell walls around city hall in New Horizons so Isabelle can be imprisoned through player creativity. I’d also argue R.O.B is imprisoned by anyone who bought a R.O.B
Damn I knew Little Mac was too good to be not not imprisoned and that Isabelle one makes sense too, and I lowkey agree about the ROB one as well
In Kirby Triple Deluxe, Dedede gets captured by Taranza because Taranza thinks Dedede is the hero of Dream Land, and even though he does get mind controlled, he still gets captured before he gets mind controlled, so he should be in the "has been imprisoned by governing body/authority in power" tier (Taranza works under Queen Sectonia, who basically takes over Dream Land like the Haltmann company).
Yeah that's what i was thinking too
Shulk actually has been captured and taken prisoner by a governing body, as he and the rest of the party immediately get arrested by the High Entia upon arriving at their capital, Alcamoth. It’s only for a brief time before they are set free again, but it absolutely counts.
Thank you. That was actually my first thought
For pyra and mythra they got arrested by the king of Tantal too, so they got arrested by the government too
27:22 since it's made to the real ending that means that CANONICALLY he has been captured
Pyra was held prisoner by the King of Tantal before she was captured by Jin so she should go into the imprisoned by authority in power
1:36
07:30 for Pikachu we can technically count Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers because at some point of the game the player Pokemon and his partner who CAN be Pikachu are both captured by Dusknoir's goons and thrown in jail
Does this also apply to Squirtle?
@michaeldoerrler2363 I said it to another comment and yes cause he's a story partner
I'm glad i subscribed to you like a year ago this was cool to see. Loved the video!
Kirby, K Rool and Piranha Plant my favourite Pokemon, Dedede my favourite Shoto fighting game character (joking)
Thanks! That's great to hear! I have to agree with the favourite pokemon selections tbh
Technically the Starters aren't captured due to the player choice, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, Incineroar, and Greninja are all already in a pokeball whether you choose them or not. Same can be said for Pikachu depending on the game you're pulling from.
Also King Dedede is kidnapped by the main villain at the start of Kirby Triple Deluxe
Hey everyone thanks for all the corrections to things, idk how some of the things just flew over my head like the points about the starter pokemon, and I apologize for the mistakes
Needs to be remade
@@edgyposter ya I think that might be best, gonna private this now and work on a more definitive version of it
I've only played dragon quest 8&11, So I can only speak on them. With that said, the hero from 8 has been imprisoned on false charges twice, and the luminary has been imprisoned on account of being the darkspawn.
I’ve played Dragon Quest 3, 8 and a little bit of 11 (haven’t played 4 yet)
For the heroes from 11 and 8 you can put them in captured by authoritarian / governing body group
For the DQ3 hero you can put him into the gets captured but it depends on the players choice
The protagonist of Dragon Quest 11 actually gets thrown into the dungeon by the Heliodor King in the opening chapter of the game, so this is clearly an example of the first tier.
Dont forget that at some point Solo from dq4 is wrongfully accused of a crime and is sent to prison for a short period of time, only being promised freedom if he catches the real culprit.
cant believe this was wrong on release and still managed to become outdated in 20 hours lmao.
How did it become outdated already (I get how it was wrong though)
Still watching, but I’m just got to Pikachu and I’m assuming most Pokemon on the roster will be going in the “has been captured (due to player choice)” tier. I would like to provide an argument to move them up: NPC trainers. I think all or almost all Pokemon in Smash have been used by non-player trainers at some point in the series, meaning that they can be moved up to the “has been captured by a non-government body” tier, no player-choice required.
Shulk was imprisoned in Xenoblade 1.
Young Link can get imprisoned in gerudo valley as an adult, but since you can go back in time and become young link again means its hapened to young link
Sonic and Mario immediately went to mind.
banger video
Richter gets brainwashed in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
I would argue that the Pokémon don’t count as imprisoned in their pokeballs, since the games make it pretty clear your pokemon like being with you and let themselves get caught.
As for Pikachu, in Detective Pikachu Returns there’s a whole section of the game where you play as Pikachu as a prisoner in a jail (dunno if that really counts tho since it’s detective Pikachu specifically)
Piranha plant was captured and brainwashed by a governing body in both Paper Mario the Origami King and Super Paper Mario.
I’d argue Young Link should be in the same category as the other links because he can be captured by the Gerudos as an adult. He is an adult when it happens but when Zelda sends him back at the end of the game, he clearly remembers everything from when he was an adult
Eh, it’s not “The Hero Of Time”, it’s “Young Link”, as in Link at the beginning of Ocarina of time, the spirit temple, and Majoras mask
@@thatonespooder1513 I would still consider it the same person, that would be like saying that twilight princess link wasn’t imprisoned because it was actually wolf link who was
YES I LOVE THESE VIDEOS
I would have put the Miis into the same tier as Villager, considering Miis can be whoever you want. You can make a Mii of a felon lmao.
How do I have access to this video? It’s unlisted
This was a fun video, but there are a few corrections to be made:
Dr. Mario is technically the same person as Mario
The Zelda in SSBU is from A Link Between Worlds, not A Link to the Past
The main villain of DKC3 is not King K. Rool, but rather his relative Baron K. Roolenstein
Also for pikachu we can count every time it’s captured by team rocket
Young link has been captured in ocarina of time since adult link is the same character you can get captured by the Gerudo
I would argue that the starter Pokémon aren't imprisoned only by player choice since typically the professor catches them before hand and lets you pick them. So that would be Pikachu, all of the Pokémon trainer mons, Greninja and Incineroar, and they all come out of poke balls so I find that statement justified.
Also most of the Pokémon in the game have an entrance animation have them come out of a poke ball, all except Mewtwo and Lucario. Since Lucario doesn't come out of a poke ball and you can find wild Lucario in Pokémon Sword and Shield as well as in Legends Arceus, so I think it's safe to assume that the Lucario in smash bros hasn't been captured and the Lucario that you get in the mainline games are just different Lucario.
I'm fine with all of the other placements, I just wanted to point this out.
ridley was imprisoned in the space station in metroid fusion, the space station is under the rule of the federation, so he has been imprisoned by ruling power
he was frozen
I know the link in ultimate is from bow/Tok but in twilight princess you do get placed in a jail cell by the twili
here before coney does a full vid reacting to this
Minecraft Bedrock has officially sponcered servers my Mojang and one of them is a prison break minigame, so theres that for minecraft i guess. Idk if we count that.
After today's direct, guess where Young Link can potentially go
Young Link is the Hero of Time, and CAN be captured while sneaking around Gerudo Fortress. This Link did experience everything that happened in OoT. I'd also argue that any of the starter Pokemon are catpured even without your input, as you cannot ever skip the selection process and they are already captured by the time you get to them
10:41 NOPE!! That's the Zelda from A Link BETWEEN worlds not a Link to the past
About Corrin. The kidnapping actually happened in Nohr. King of Hoshido came on a diplomatic visit and brought Corrin with him. Garon, king of Nohr then murders Corrins (step)dad and kidnaps them. Not sure if that changes the classification though since Corrin still technically wasnt a Nohrian subject.
Edit: Also Byleths Smash trailer, which is based on the scene that happens in 3Houses, is arguebly an example of imprisonment by a non-governing body
Dark Samus was the Metroid prime before taking the form of Samus and was imprisoned by the Chozo on Talon IV
17:00 for Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon is the same as Pikachu although for Ivosor and Charizard you play their first form so technically it counts
Also same for Lucario
@@Quartzer. Lucario is not a story allies in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers
@Skypatroller_BenCD Riolu (Lucario's first stage) can be one of the player Pokemon
@@Quartzer. he's not story related
Not to spoil too much of Xenoblade but if we count Metanight as imprisoned we should count Shulk too
Also him and his friends get imprisoned by the high entia
wouldn't luigi's most iconic imprisonment be in Super Mario 3d Land? (when you beat the main game, you get a letter of an imprisoned luigi). and he is at one of bowsers castles. so i'd consider that far more important than super princess peach. also, for mario. i completely forgot about the imprisonment in super mario sunshine. he does however get captured 3 times by king boo, who is also a ruling authority
Edit: I forgot about bowser, who actually gets properly imprisoned in Mario & Luigi Bowsers inside story. he gets thrown in a safe by the elite trio. and i think you could sort of count him gaining a ton of weight rapidly and dropping into the floor as imprisonment too
technically he was imprisoned by a governing body since Fawful usurped his kingdom
:)
:)
