Update: The blur reduction mode is not as bad as I initially thought. I didn’t notice that the EX240 supports two strobing modes: Ordinary non-VRR strobing and VRR strobing, the latter of which is the mode shown in the video. Judging by what others are reporting, the non-VRR strobing mode appears to much better than the VRR strobing mode that I’ve tested and closer to the performance of the EX25-series monitors.
Can you please be more specific, i dont understand what it means, im a noob, is the Strobing worth on the EX240 or not ?

Thanks for the review, very informative and concise. Looking forward to the 24GF2 review.
can't wait to see the g24f2 review 🤩
Thank you for the recommended settings and ICC profile!
I've had the original ex2510 a couple years now and love it. Had to return the first one because of stuck green pixel. Second one is flawless not even a dead pixel. I'll be upgrading to 1440p or a 4k hdmi 2.1 during black friday sales.
Super solid review my man! really thourough and informative 😊
Watching this on my Mobiuz EX2510. Been enjoying my first 144hz monitor experience for almost 2 years now!
No issues ATM?
@@DIEGO-sl7cs hmm?
been all good using this monitor no probs bro
So glad I decided to buy this monitor a few months back worth every penny
Great video, but I was wondering if you could make a video about monitors with a glossy screen surface or very light anti-glare coating that have minimal layering for image clarity and provide recommendations.
I got a Acer 240hz 1440p 27'' that just got released for intro price of $300(normally $400) might be the new goto for the community once it gets reviewed, fyi.
I spent literally all day today watching your videos over and over and over trying to decide which monitor to buy and I finally chose this one. I hope it will be good, but either way I appreciate all the work you do testing these monitors, it doesnt look easy at all to be able to tune and analyze all these different panels. Thanks again!
how did u found this monitor? In quality terms. I have this monitor, I bought it yesterday but man. Idk, im kinda dissapointed? Let’s see. I had a VA 144hz Viotek monitor with Freesync (adaptive-sync) and yea, it kinda worked BUT as soon as I play any game capped to 60fps like Fallout 4, Skyrim, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, it was stuttery during camera panning BUT i was getting solid stable 60fps 16.6ms. ONLY when I do camera panning, the movement of the character it feels like 60fps, but camera panning like 30fps. I thought it was due to a trash VA panel so I bought this monitor cause I was hearing it was a pretty decent IPS 1080p Monitor. But man, it’s the same dude. Kinda frustated that I paid $120 for nothing, at least if u know or anyome knows how can I solve this problem. Greetings to everyone!
@@itzcentauri6769That might be caused by the VRR backlight strobing being turned on, i heard that causes some weird silliness in some cases, try turning that off or set it to the non VRR mode if it's not already.
It could be a settings issue because there is freesync tech that needs to be active I think, Im really not sure man. All I know is that I got it today and I am honestly just so impressed by the quality of this monitor. The colours looks fantastic and everything is working great, 165hz is an absolute treat. The stand is the only major issue to be honest, I will probably be getting a monitor arm so not a big deal. But honestly, I've tried two different budgets monitors and this is like not even a comparison, it's just really a quality screen. Super happy with this purchase and very thankful for all the info techless helps with to pick a good monitor@@itzcentauri6769
@@edenem thanks man, but it really looks the same
@@edenem I’m starting to think its maybe my GPU (rx 6800) or that 60hz+ monitors sucks at 60fps
Was really hoping for this review what a nice notification xd
Next u should try the aoc 25g3zm/bk, its a 240hz va with great contrast levels that costs about the same as this one. Would love a comparision between the two as i belive they are the best monitors available in this price range right now :))
I got that one based on other reviews last week and sitting next to an IPS panel... OMG, no more IPSs :).
@@radosuaf wait what? what is wrong with ips panels?

Nothings wrong with ips. Some people are just delusional.
Great review bro i was looking for a budget monitor and may buy this one. Also i don't mean to be rude but is your voice really that deep or is the fault of your mic due to over compression/ processing ?
can you please push out a review for the gigabyte g24f 2? i really need the recommended settings for it and i would highly appreciate it😅. thankss
can you please do the Gigabyte G24F 2 review? would love too see your review on the product 👍
any chance you plan on reviewing the Lenovo g24-20? It looks like the best budget offering currently out there for high refresh rate gaming.
Please review the new Gigabyte G24F 2 and compare it to the old one.
Great review,I'm looking at the MSI g244f or the gigabyte g24f2, but can't find any reviews on either one.

can you review the g24f2 please
Hello, do you plan on reviewing g24f 2?
Hey @techlessYT,
I bought this monitor because of your video, and it's excellent. I'm using it with a MacBook Air M1, and I'm having an issue with the ICC profile you provided for download. It turns out that when I try to play a video, it darkens. This only happens with videos; the other colors remain the same. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks a lot!
Hi, I do need some advice about watching 1080p videos on 1440p monitors that no one is talking about !
Tried some high-spec 1440p models but all of them were blurry, shockingly worse than 1080p native monitors while playing 1080p videos.
Then I unfortunately learned that the scaler won't be able to precisely transpose the 1080p image onto the 1440p screen. Meaning, blur and other visual artifacts make the video look substantially worse than 1080p native monitors and it's not related with bitrate or compression etc.
Mainly watching 1080p shows, movies (not streaming on youtube/Netflix etc) and have a huge archive... Tried 4K monitors/TVs with 1080p videos and they look just fine, equal to 1080p native ! 4K is exactly four times 1080p resolution; this means that for every pixel in 1080p, there are four pixels in 2160p, so you just make each pixel four times bigger. Looks exactly like a 1080p display.
I want to upgrade to 2K for games, web & work but "to watch 1080p videos blurry with artifacts" is holding me back.
4K is hard to drive and it's expensive but definitely clearer than 1440p !
- Should I skip 1440p & invest in 4K monitors ? Can you do a video about the elephant in the room ?
if you're mainly gonna use it for watching videos then yeah definitely get the 4k if the content you watch has 4k support. you could also get a secondary high refresh rate 1080p for gaming like this one or something cheaper like the gigabyte g24 that techess also recommends
*edit. since you said that you watch 1080p content, then it might not be cost effective to buy 4k if you'll only play 1080p shows and movies. but if you got the money for it, then why not. take note that if you get a larger 4k monitor and display 1080p, itll look worse than a smaller 24 inch 1080p screen because of the pixel density
Hi, I have a question, do'nt know if you will see it, but i'm torned between the G2412 (the 170hz one) and the EX240, I can get the MSI one for around 160€ and the EX240 for 180, virtually the same price, do you have any idea how different the G2412 is from the G241 ?
hey techless. so the EX240 and the EX2510s are basically the same price where im from. given that there's no price difference, would it be better to go with the EX2510s?
I got the same issue which one u did prefer?
Response Time Tables sind einfach Gold wert👍
Forgot to cover speakers but great review nonetheless. I believe they are more or less the same as on EX2510.
Ex2510s speakers are slightly better

How is this monitor at 120hz for ps5? Are response times and everything basically the same?

Do I need to use display port for the freesynch? I got mine off
Are you going to do a TUF Gaming VG249QL3A review when it comes out? it should be even better than this one.
In my area the ex2510s is available just at 10$ more than ex240 price ... So does it really make sense to go for this monitor or is it just better overall?
What percentage of brightness is in the game when the lights are on in the house?
I have it hooked up to a series S. Whenever I hold the home button. The screen shuts off for a few seconds. Then comes back on. Any reason why 🤔 please help 😢
Damn if the backlight strobing performance wasn't that much worse I might have actually considered buying it.
in my country ex240 and ex2510s price is almost same
which one should i choose
Here in the Philippines, the ex2510s is $20 cheaper than the ex240. Our EX240 is priced at $230 here, which is $48 more than same class monitors. :)
hi. I'm also from the philippines. where did you see this pricing? currently in shopee ex2510s cost 15k and ex240 cost 13.5k.
Unfortunately Benq has now released a EX 240N and in the UK at least the EX 240 is impossible to find.
The N model is far inferior so where does that leave us. The gigabyte G24f has several reviews that say the reported coil whine is real.
So whats the next best at 1080p IPS 24 inch ?
It is inferior? Wheres your source as Id very much would like to know as I almost bought the 'N' variant
Ah its a VA panel. Ffs why they do us like this 🤦♂
gigabyte fixed the coil whon on newer monitors

Very good review. I bought this monitor recently. Can you tell me how to connect and light up the rear strip of the monitor via RGB? I've tried several times but I can't. Thanks.
how is it going?
Thanks a lot for your review. I was wondering if it is also supports 1080p 120Hz with Xbox Series X and PS5 please ?
yes anything with hdmi 2.0 supports it so make sure you look out for that in the specs of any monitors ur interested in

Ich find für meinen Monitor nicht das passende icc profil. Habe einen Benq EX2710. Kann man vom EX2710q zb das icc profil nehmen oder das von einem anderem Benq Monitor?
1:00 what's your desktop wallpaper?
I'd still get the G24F2. It's basically the same as the G24F but with a better contrast and color gamut.
Maybe there's a hidden caveat, though.
The price tag and the extremely similar performance…
this is the perfect example of " oooh so that the why about this price "
Thanks for the review, techless.
G24F vs EX240 , which one you would recommend?👀🙏🙏
Definitely dell d1918h
@@thelionman97 Thanks for your reply🙏🙏. But I might be choosing one of the above.
When I went on amazon they seem to only have a VA version of the monitor in the UK and no other version, since I'm going to use the monitor for gaming and design should i get it or do a get the Koorui 24E3 which in the UK has an ips version?
Thought the exact same thing
Why is Light Tuner set to +1 for the Standard Mode color accuracy measurements, though? Maybe it would be better to set it to a neutral value? Or does it perform even worse that way?
I've tested virtually any light tuner and gamma combination and for some reason +1 with gamma 3 is the most neutral setting...
@@techlessYT Got it. Not that surprising for a model with lackluster factory calibration. Thank you, appreciate you being so thorough with these things.
Would you recommend this monitor for a ps5 user?
Hi, thanks for this great reviews ! I need your help cause i'm struggling to decide between this monitors :

which is better between EX240N/EX240/XL2411K to playing cod on ps5?
I was literally just looking at getting this monitor... What a coincidence!
Get the AOC 25G3ZM :).
I'd recommend getting a used EX2510 instead for it's decent OOTB calibration.
@@juanblanco7898 AOC has also a good one and you cannot calibrate an IPS panel to show proper blacks and remove backllight bleed as well as IPS glow. While IPS panels are OK for desktop work (bright screen), for any dark content they simply suck.
@@radosuaf Yes, IPS is a really subpar technology from the image quality standpoint. But, among other things, it's low contrast ratios make good calibration even more important since the more limited your resources are, the more carefully they should be managed. Despite all it's technical shortcomings, a display should at least represent an adequate tonal balance (EOTF/"gamma") within it's capabilities and avoid significant over/undersaturation. That's the bare minimum requirement, imo.
@@juanblanco7898 For that sole reason I would avoid IPS panels in the first place. I just changed a supposedly "great" Asus VG249Q IPS that had terrible backlight bleed and poor blacks to a VA based AOC 25G3ZM and the difference is night and day. Especially when you play mostly in a dim environment.
I'm using the settings you provided for the custom preset and the ICC profile too. But the display colours look a bit too warm to me. White looks a bit yellow. Anybody else experiencing this ? Anyone has any solution ?
Does it support nvidea graphic cards too

Some really new and potentially interesting monitors I think you should review if possible:
Dell G2724D (1440P, 165HZ) - Heard it has an above average contrast for an IPS, Decent color calibration, and it sits at a good 280 USD. Should be a good alternative to the M27Q.
Alienware AW2724DM (1440P, 180HZ) - A premium 1440P monitor with supposedly decent HDR 600 implementation, and great wide gamut coverage. Cheaper and seemingly better MSI MAG274QRF-QD.
MSI G274QPX (1440P, 240HZ) - With the M27Q X being seemingly discontinued there are few 'budget' 240HZ QHD monitors. This one sits at 380 USD, and is supposedly wide gamut.
Acer XV272U W2bmiiprx (1440P, 240HZ) - Another M27Q X alternative. Don't know much about it, other than that it's priced at 400 USD.
In my country the difference between ex 240 and ex 2510s is just 50 dols. Is it worth getting the 2510s or is it better to save the 50 dols and get the ex 240?
if you want slightly faster response time with better back light strobing go with the EX2510s...if you want slightly better color accuracy and brightness and save $50 go EX240
