"Why do the diamonds need a geo-weapon?" That's... actually a good question. Why do the gems need all those weapons? We do see alien life, but we haven't seen sentient alien life other than the gems. Now, a question I have is: Did the producers/writers/staff think that far ahead. hmmm
Lord Lima Bean True. But you can only account/think of so much. There's a good possibility that other alien species don't matter to the story at all. If it does, then that writing staff is brilliant
When you write a story you have to plan all things that will append since the begining if you don't want to be stuck in the middle because of scenario problems I found this just normal
They have the entire show except season six planned I'm pretty sure because until recently season five was supposed to be the last season but then su was renewed again
I have been having this same thought ever since it was introduced, it is a doomsday weapon of ludicrous magnitude. If there is no enemy to use it on then it is useless also from the promo it seems the diamonds themselves don't know the full nature of their powers.
I'm hoping that they'd be bipedal lizards than actual snake people, but I like the idea that the Diamond Authority's disdain for organic life stems from the "Sneeple."
Adding to that, I also hope that they're actually alien in appearance and not humanoid. I love the gems and their designs, but I do wish they were a little more alien-looking.
Or they could be limbless snakes that pilot bipedal walking tanks that can deploy nukes from anywhere in the world. They're playing steven and the gems like a dang fiddle
Actually, I think the Armour of the Fallen is Armour that humans who fought alongside Rose Quartz had worm during the Gem War, as it seems humans fought in the war, and maybe keeping the Armour somehow commemorated these humans to Rose
The Gem War was about 5500 to 4500 years ago, the best human armour you could possibly get during that period would be at best made from bronze and it surely wouldn't be a full-body set like the Armours of the Fallen are. If humans made these armors with the technical expertise of the Gems, they would be most probably more uniform in appearance and style. If they belonged to humans, they rather belonged to humans which Rose met and fought with during her fourty five centuries of adventuring around the world and bubbling corrupted gems.
chinerpeton hmm, well, I suppose you're right, but I feel like Bismuth would've just made any Armour for humans no matter how it looked. Think about it, they probably used tons of metal, and gems had no need for Armour, so who else could it have belonged too if not Humans? But then again, Jasper had said she fought in "the first war" for Earth, maybe there had been a second that took place a long time later, smaller in size, and allowed more technological advancements for Humans
I think you’re on the right track but that they weren’t humans who fought in the gem war but simply humans she had grown close to over the time since then. Remember Pearl talking about learning chivalry from humans?
chinerpeton The Steven Universe timeline is completely altered. Steven is the only human that has ever been on the moon, and Russia doesn't exist. I wouldn't be surprised if gems influenced the creation of armor, since they also influenced several other forms of human culture. We also know Pearl was fascinated with knighthood, such influenced how she served Rose. The armor was probably for gem shards, anyway, or perhaps taken from humans and given to gem shards. But it's very possible humans fought in the gem war. They didn't have much of a choice.
Always been wondering where the other aliens are, especially as Jungle Moon gives us nonsapient animal life. Glad somebody's putting some thought into this general topic.
I never thought about that... So the Gems might just be energy crystals used to power machines that eventually gained sentience and decided to fight for freedom... THAT MAKES *SO* MUCH SENSE
Even if the show has ended , The theory of the diamonds needing to make gem geo weapons is because to fight against the creators of white diamond or intelligent alien species other than the gems . In the real world it's a theory that there could be aliens far more advanced than us . Same thing could be a possibility in SU . The diamonds need the cluster in order to count other super advance alien species .
Best reveal is to kill someone from the main cast to astablish that they are powerfull and no one is safe from them e(Not White, Blue or yellow because it would be pointless since we have almost no emotiomal connection to them)
I hope not. This is the only hope I have that they're not going to take that route. At the very least I hope White Diamond or The Sneeple aren't redeemed. Not everyone is redeemable, that's just wishful thinking. I'm hoping the route they'll take is that The Sneeple treated The Diamond's like The Diamond's treat their Pearl's. So it's symbolism for how even though people who are abused are victim's, they can also become abusers and not learn from their experiences. I hope then it shows them learning the error of their ways; because that would be better than just outright redeeming them. I hope then The Sneeple are condemned for starting this cycle in the first place. I've witnessed stuff like this happen so much in my family life, that if they're going to do this I hope they do it right.
Lea C. I think the reason they're sticking to that idea of redemption is because that kind of total optimism isn't usually in cartoons... Usually there is a limit where once you get to the ultimate bad guy and defeat them everything is ok. But this is more a long the lines of, people do bad things but if they try to change, it might not be easy, but they can do it. Things won't be perfect but they can be better. It's a kids show, they want to show the kids watching that things don't have to be hopeless, that you can be forgiven if you try to change. Not that dictators or abusers are good people.
Lea C. So i guess you are hoping that they will introduce a "source of all evil", some sort of actual "Satan". I doubt it would be white diamond. Just one diamond out of four seems a bit random. Why she and not the others? Now as for SNAKE-people, the symbolism seems a bit blatant (Snake --> Satan). Might or might not be purposefully misleading symbolism. Well i'd be surprised if it turned out to go like "allright, steven befriended everyone he ever met (what this show has been about so far), except those last 3 or 2 people, they just didn't want to, well then, gg, show ends here." I'm saying "3 or 2 people", because they wouldn't actually make an entire sentient race evil, that's not ok, not only not for a kids show. The power to befriend everyone you ever met does indeed seem to be "unrealistic", something that would be regarded as a "superpower" in our real life. But i think they are going for that. For "100% Completion"
Lea C. you have mentioned "diamonds treating their pearls" as an example of abuse, but so far, have yellow pearl or blue pearl really showed any serious signs of abuse? Since they are at the top, the diamonds should have plenty of other individuals to vent their wrath on, they dont need to particularly abuse their own pearls (though your general point would still stand then of course). I also noticed that the pearls seem to act as the diamonds secretaries (as seen when peridot calls yellow diamond) and not just "holding stuff" and "decoration" like peridot implied. Actually the only time we could assume some serious abuse of a pearl through a diamond is, well, pink diamond and her pearl, though that's something people have been arguing about since the reveal.
The pyramid thing from season 1, which shows hands throwing themselves at some greater being, is likely a monument that the steeple forced the gems to carve
I really like this idea. It makes a lot of sense when you consider how large a military Homeworld seems to have. Organic life can reproduce very quickly and Gems take thousands of years to create a new generation so even if their enemy wasn't as advanced as the Gems they could still be a massive threat. Actually they should have done this much earlier.
what if sneople is actually just a secret society that uses snakes as symbolism and its actually the humans that made gems/diamonds, it would explain why they share so many physical traits, and the reason we don't see serpentine features on gems.
Phesheya Bhembe ah, but were we always in a stone age? Maybe before that we were a advanced society that was brought to the brink of annihilation and fled our home world. As we tried to rebuild on a foreign world we forgot much of our technology and heritage. And the gems coming to colonize destroyed the little progress we had.
Phesheya Bhembe it would be possible to forget something like that if people had other priorities to deal with, like rebuilding a society in a foreign world with little to no starting resources.
they come from the future, the humans of the future created the gems, the gems reveled, travel back in time, and colonized earth, by doing so they lend to the creation of themselves, creating a buckle.
I’ve been saying this since S1 and they talked about how Gems exist for a war purpose. The whole Gem society reminds me of the Cylons (the good ones), and I’ve always suspected that the longstanding war that the Homeworld Gems are fighting are their originally created by. Exactly like they Cylons and their (ironically lizard people) creators. EDIT: The Diamonds would be equivalent to Lucifer of the Cylons in my analogy.
It turns out that the actual answer as to why Blue and Yellow would be on Steven's side so soon was that Cartoon Network sucks ass and cut the series short out of spite for Sugar for having Ruby and Sapohire get married.
Lola Medina You are correct, its a publicity stunt; we are far from creating AI capable of independent thought, much less feeling, it may have detrimental consequences should we ever develop truly sentient ai (which is not a prerequisite for it being intelligent) we may not want to create beings capable of feeling, but if we do and detractors don’t want to give them rights because of the last time a puppet was made a citizen we may cause suffering in beings actually capable of being free.
@@kershmaru237 I just want science to constantly advance. If humans get "screwed" by ai in some way, so be it, its natural progression and we shouldnt hold back. Its selfish and boring.
CommenterOf Truth as I stated, sentience isn’t a prerequisite for intelligence; I too am in favor of progress but we need to be smart about it, and ethical. Should we create sentient AI I would consider it a moral imperative to give it rights, even if that leads to further problems down the road.
@@commenteroftruth9790 As boring as this sounds, it's incredibly unlikely for A.I. to ever overcome humanity. AI lacks something that we cannot and will never be able to truly give them: emotion. Without emotion, a physical/chemical reaction, they'll never have any real desire to do anything against us. Think about it: has there *ever* been an AI villain depicted in media, aside from the ship in Wall-E, that wasn't malicious in some fashion? Without emotion, the ability to desire things like revenge simply doesn't exist. Jealousy, love, hatred, the desire to hurt, joy, etc are all emotional responses. AI can only become a threat if it is simply following orders to a T, but their masters no longer want them to follow said orders and are unable to shift course somehow. An AI, even if capable of complex thought, cannot form the desire to harm us unless it is programmed to do so. But even then, AI would likely only function as a weapon and be largely incapable of turning on their masters. So, regardless of if it became weaponized or not, it would never be able to conquer us as a species. Outside of AUTO from Wall-E, there's never been any media representation of a realistic, truly emotionless A.I. as far as I'm aware. Emotions are inherently tied to our biology, and A.I. is inherently inorganic. The closest we could get is cyborgs, but that's not A.I., that's just an organic being with inorganic modifications.
@@borga6566 Emotions are necessary for AI or any of its actions. We don't have sentient ai yet. Thats the challenge. Making it. Im glad you think you know so much, that it will never be done, you are so wise. Not.
This would explain why the Diamonds need geoweapons. They've been fighting another species. That species could very well be sneople that "never wrong" Ronaldo guessed way back. Would also explain the "shortage" that Peridot mentioned.
Since it's been hinted that Greg wasn't her first lover, I've always thought that Rose's "Armor of the fallen" was for those whom she's loved and had passed over the last 5000 years. Though, with how Bizzy had her own armor, I do find myself reevaluating that thought.
Soooo they would pull a Darling in the Franxx. Revealing at the very last moment the existence of a bigger enemy that no one ever talked about, and making the villains join the main characters to fight the newer threat
Possibly. Though I think it'd be more complicated than that. It's certainly better than the current route they're taking in which all the current antagonists are being redeemed.
True. Even tho the idea of "everything can be solved talking" that the show has is good, it's a little bit unrealistic when you realize there are intergalactical wars, planetary exterminations and tyrant empresses in the show Not everyone is good. And if they really want a more mature show with more morally grey characters, they should stop redeeming all their antagonists. Beggining with Jasper
Holly Blue Agate and Aquamarine are still antagonists that are unlikely to be redeemed. Holly Blue was tricked into letting the Crystal Gems and Greg out of the Zoo and Aquamarine only decided not to poof Topaz to keep the Diamonds from questioning her capability as a special forces agent. We still have no idea if any of the gem monsters besides Centipeedle were ever good people.
thirteenfury True, but those characters are a little bit secondary, and barely appeared in two episodes. I'm talking about characters that have a major impact on the show, like Jasper or the Diamonds. Characters that people generally dislike for being antagonists
I imagine the whole pink diamond situation being like: YD: Ok, we need to beat the shit out of these snakes. PD/RQ: Man I want the earth to not help beat the shit out of the snakes! *dies* YD: wtf, I'm gonna beat the shit out of the earth.
I think that the Armour of the fallen were used as empty bodies to fight in the war, being the shattered pieces of gems to take refuge in them or be put in them intended, they were used to fight (Remember Frybo)
I can't say I'd be looking forward to such a twist because it would be just the ultimate cop-out ever, however, I disagree with the notion that befriending the Diamonds "this early on"--it's the fifth season; just how much longer did you want them to drag this out?--even though I was severely disappointed by said spoilers. Also, I don't think we're going beyond season six. As it is, given the pacing of these episodes, it seems they're rushing plot lines because "oh shit, we actually ran out of time." But I also have to raise the point that Steven Universe was never really headed for a big fight/second war, as much as that threat seemed to loom under the surface. Not only has the narrative pretty much lambasted the idea of there being a war in the first place--even though it refuses to _blame anyone_ for said war and hold Pink responsible--but a lot of Pearl's dialog from seasons one, two and three, pretty much told us that would be the case. I'm only going to be using the two most damning examples though as I've got things to do. We have the line, "It's entertainment; it doesn't have to make sense," (which actually supports your theory, much to my chagrin,) and the much more damning, "Humans just lead short, boring, insignificant lives so they make up stories to feel like they're a part of something bigger. They want to blame all the world's problems on some single enemy they can fight, instead of a complex network of interrelated forces beyond anyone's control." This pretty much spelled it out from the beginning and I can see Rebecca Sugar pulling such a thing, not just due to the Pink Diamond reveal but due to how she likes to manipulate her audience. It's something I've noticed since Uncle Grandpa but was convinced by the masses to dismiss for the longest time; she reveres us at conventions for getting wholly and obsessively invested into her show, then use characters like Peridot and Ronaldo to make fun/snipe at us for doing so. With the first example, one could say they were just teasing but "you're just some guy with a blog," made that _distinctly_ clear. (I swear, the only creative team more bitter and mean spirited than the Crewniverse, is the Teen Titans Go team.) As for gems not evolving, I'm not sure about that. Why deform into an animal like state if that wasn't a part of their code at some point? Also, I feel you're misinterpreting Yellow's "organic" line. It was pretty clear from the start that the Earth did something to her, something personal and probably traumatizing; Pink's "death." Her hatred of organics can and probably does come from that, seeing as organics "corrupted' a quartz soldier into rebelling and as a result, were the sole reason why Pink got shattered. Now, before you bring up Jungle Moon, I've got an explanation for that too; she doesn't _hate_ organics at this point in time, she has no reason to but the idea of them being on the same level as them is asinine to her/all of gem kind and you can't claim humans are no better, seeing as we refuse to acknowledge the fellow, sentient life on this planet--apes, elephants and dolphins respectively--as our equals and if Planet of the Ape's is anything to go by--I know it isn't, let me use my analogy please--humanity still wouldn't even if these animals could talk like us so, yeah. What hopes do the Diamond's have in this regard? Sure, in Jungle Moon, Yellow doesn't give a shit about the organic life living on it, but neither does humanity when it comes to deforestation, poaching, etc though if you were to ask the poachers, they're not doing anything wrong. This is how they make a living and it's usually the only way for them to make a living. It's a totally evil act but they don't see it that way and Yellow Diamond is no different in that regard.
I... I'm going to be honest here. I don't see how Ronaldo is meant to make fun of the show's fanbase. Sure, he's silly and ultimately comic relief, and basically nobody in the show actually respects him, but the show still treats him as they do all of their other characters, with complexity and a unique story to him. He has aspirations, and he makes mistakes, and you can tell he's actually learning from his experiences, which is something that you wouldn't be able to say about a character designed to mock a certain group of people. (For example, if he was designed to poke fun at fanatics at the show, he wouldn't have decided to become a lone wolf all on his own after Steven said he was selfish for his actions as a Crystal Gem, the Gems would likely end up forcing him out) For the matter, even if he is meant to mock people, he's more designed around real-life conspiracy theorists than TV fanatics. As for Peridot I have no idea who she would even be mocking. People who are obsessed with the characters, even the antagonists like Jasper or the Diamonds? I guess I could see that, but then I would raise the same argument with her as I did with Ronaldo (when she learned that Yellow Diamond wasn't as logical as she initially thought).
I wonder if Cobra Commander would appear in SU's final season.: "Sssssss-itizen-sssss of Beach Ssssss-ity! Sssssss-urrender or be Des-sssssss-troyed!" "Cobraaaaaaaaa-LaLaLaLaLaLaLaLa!"
What if the gems used to be an organic species long ago but gradually became more inorganic and robotic over time? Like from starting off with bionic replacements for limbs to uploading their consciousness to robotic bodies to finding out how to make individual conscious beings with original consciousness?
It makes sense honestly, especially thinking of the real human world. Today we have so many scientists and doctors and rich people trying to figure out how we can live forever by uploading our minds into a robot or something. We came from wild little brained humans who became smarter and smarter and evolved as time went on. Thinking this while putting the uploading our minds theory together, we could end up evolving into a completely different race of human beings. Even to the point where we aren't organic/ can't reproduce sexually. This most likely could have easily happened with the gems. That or they were created by a god or White came into existence once light itself did and created the other gems I don't know
Idea, the snake people are fighting the Gem Empire and are using new sentient beings that are called Ores (such as copper, iron, tin, bronze, and gold) to combat them. Ores are male and are used in the military with different ores doing different jobs such as officers, front line soldiers and technicians. The ores are also stronger, faster, and better then most gems. The snake people use troops based on quality like they did for the first gems will the gem empire uses thousands of cheap soldiers with some special units from era one. The ores also can come I different sizes.
Then factoring in the fact that Gem tech either ignores, or has limited effect upon biological life (outside of direct damage that effects everything equally). If a biological enemy spurred the Gem culture, they would have their tech more sensitive to Biology. Using just Lars on Homeworld as the example, they do not seem to think that Bio-lifeforms are of any threat. Not a mindset from a culture who are at war with a Biological race.
I've always agreed that the gems work more like AIs than "people" so they need to have some organic creator and I get how the Sneeple have been foreshadowed; but I have a hard time believing that there's been a big war against another alien race this whole time and no one thought to even mention it in 5 seasons. Even before the end of Season 5 someone should have made a passing comment to it. So my guess is that maybe they're someone only White knows about and who's disappeared a long time ago and will reapper (maybe they're why White was making the other diamonds keep colonies without telling them the reason).
Pearl said Steven cried over snakes, and Steven said he cried over them because they don't have arms. At Garnet's wedding, Steven was welcoming the Gems, humans, and Pumpkin, calling them by their proper species name, but when Steven got to Onion, Steven was all 'and whatever Onion is' or something. Onion might be an agent of the sneeple
⚠️Spoilers for Steven Universe Future intro⚠️ . . . Holy heck she’s right! The new intro of SU Future has a reptilian looking thing in it!!! Damn bruh I’m still on board with the Sneople theory!!! (Even more now than ever!)
I was worried this would be lame click bait, but you have many excellent points! I had originally believed the Sneeple to be a reference to Serpentine gemstones, and specifically the Cluster itself, given that its deep within the planet. However, both Reunited and official concept art for the Cluster negate that. I had never thought of their being a faction at war with Gems in space or that something had to have created Gems at all. I definitely think you're onto something. Not sure if its been mentioned before, but there are other allusions to Snakes that you didn't address here. One is during Steven's Birthday where he haphazardly says he sees a snake constellation. In the context of the scene, its not much, but does potentially make for a subtle hint about sneeple in space. The other is that Lars has worn a shirt with snake on it a couple times before. Given that Rebecca and the Crew revealed that Lars' character arc (dying in space, becoming Harlock) has been planned since the very start of the show, one might wonder if he'll be running across them in his space adventures.
Ronaldo does open forshadow a lot. Including mentioning the gem authority and mentioning how they can "Take any shape they want". The money with the upside down diamond was also incredible hints. A lot like how Garnets room had two gemstones when it opened, while Pearl and Amethyst only had one. Where the snake could have been put in to fool people from the pink diamond thing, I also now feel you may be on to something... Guess we will find out soon!
If I were to guess already known aliens that could be the Gems' creators, I propose you a race that: 1. Is focused on military conquests of planets, from which they then wipe all the life off, 2. Has a very strict authority, where the leaders are bigger than everyone else (and the current ones are named after colors), 3. Doesn't reproduce naturally, although biologically (Idk if it's cloning or what, they are born from tubes) 4. Their members are already half-AI, are programmed to be obedient soldiers, and given all the knowledge of who they are at the very beginning of their life, 5. Their main memory unit is a small thing on their body (though it can be detached, just for ten minutes) 6. Wear limb enhancers, that can be also utilized as weapons 7. Have very advanced technology (but that's kinda obvious) 8. Of what I'm pretty sure, are stupid enough to create a race of AIs that could rebel against them, 9. Have green skin and (usually) red eyes, 10. Rebecca Sugar wrote fanfiction on this show when she was younger, ok? There are more similarities, but that's the ones that seemed relevant to me. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, GO WATCH INVADER ZIM, it's worth it, and there is a movie coming out. This was kind of a joke, but honestly, I secretly think that Rebecca really was inspired a lot with IZ for SU. Like, come on, Peridot is basically Zim's gemsona, if he weren't THAT oblivious, dedicated, and had compassion XD
I know that the show, movie, and epilogue series are done. But if it does ever come back as a reboot here is my theory: The gems colonies this galaxy. What if the "sneoaple" are the creators of the gems and are fighting an intergalactic war. They then "seeded" various galaxies with white diamonds which then awoke, made the other diamonds, and began draining the galaxy to create warriors and weapon's for their creators' wars (even though they didn't really know why they were doing it, they were just following their programming). What if their makers came back to collect, and were shocked and enraged that this resource extraction system failed. Perhaps pink diamond was supposed to be a red diamond, and thy blame the failure on that, or on Steven, or (more interestingly) on white herself. This could offer seasons' worth of new material. The creators coming back, harvesting gems for their wars, perhaps them even standing up against their creators and ending the intergalactic war. On a more individual level imagine white diamond meeting other white diamonds, she now being the least perfect of all, overseeing a failed empire. Imagine seeing what a red diamond might look like. Imagine the existential crisis of gems finding that they were all made as a byproduct of a much larger war (their whole society might experience a degree of amethyst's pathos). I don't know, I think it could be taken in other directions that I have outlined, but I would LOVE to see a show based upon this premise.
One important thing to note is that the snake emblem on their currency has remarkable resemblance to the "Join or die" snake, often used as imagery in the american revolutionary war. It could just be that this symbolism never died off in the alternate universe that Steven Universe takes place in.
Mark London It depends on how long this show is planing on going on. Still, this would not even be problem if this show had better world building and pacing.
bootyeater 69 I understand the point of the filler *AT FIRST* but now it’s ridiculous we already love the characters we don’t need to keep finding out about pointless characters lives yes I enjoy vidalia and onion and yes lars is now one of the most beloved characters, but geez how long do u plan on talking about these individuals when u have a deadline for a plot centric show
Honestly, considering how much evidence we had years in advance for every other big twist in the show so far, I would be gravely disappointed if the sneople thing happened now after the only real evidence being Ronaldo.
rnrsimon12 season 9?? That’s confirmed because I don’t think it is... I wouldn’t complain though. Because I can’t see this show getting old, ever really
I thought the Armor of the Fallen was what humans wore during the hundreds of years of the Gem War on Earth. They mention that humans fought alongside Crystal Gems, and I think it would make sense for Rose Quartz to cherish the armor that the bravest human leaders used before they were killed in combat.
I also think that the sentient gem shards from Frybo could have been used for that armor, to give it a second use, but not made specifically for those shards/pre-shattered gem. The armor outfits range in origin, some seem European and other Asian.
I trust that the show is sophisticated enough to be able to deal with the antagonists being systems- such as the culture of Homeworld- rather than just characters. While you're making a good argument about how Sneople might still be around, certain bits, such as the currency, imply that Sneople have been on Earth- combined with some stuff going on with Onion, it's not impossible that Yellow Tail could be Snerson, or a descendent of one. We've only got one look at we assume to be his ear, but it was drawn in such a way that it could also be interpreted as the "hood" that some snakes have. I'm sure if I think that the enemies of the Gems are the same species that created them- it's possible that their creators died out (or became scattered on backwater planets that the Gems don't know about *cough* Earth *cough*) and that they're continuing to fight with their creators' enemies, because that's what they're programmed to do. I have a strong sense that Yellow Tail's ancestors were somehow stranded on Earth- there's too much going on with him and Onion to have them *not* be involved with Sneople somehow, even if it turns out that the aliens that the Gems are dealing with aren't Sneople, or that Sneople are native to Earth. I feel like it would clash with what the show's doing if Steven befriends White before the Sneople, or whoever the other species are- it fits more with the show if the final conflict is establishing peace between the two alien races, without being on the best of terms with either. Perhaps Steven befriends a Snerson child with the same sort of level of power with the Sneople goverment as Steven has with the Gem one, and they work together to somehow establish peace by convincing the Diamonds and the Sneople equivalent thereof to stop the war?
While this idea could get dark really quick... a worthy antagonist for the final part of the show could be a human tyrant with the technology to steal the power of a Gem. It's not a direction I could see the show taking, but it raises several questions about the bonds between allies. Homeworld would naturally be against it, but with the ability to sap strength, it would tear most bonds between organics and Crystals apart.
I’ve got an idea for a fanfic with other aliens, the main “character” being from an extinct race of robots. All those races have formed a united empire with a committee of its leaders who have been planning a revenge against the Diamonds, but they’re cool with the Crystal Gems.
what IF gems are created with the prupose of resulting in STEVEN? an hibrid between a gem and organic? kinda makes him the ultimate being if you think about it. he can grow, he can evolve, he can reproduce, yet he has power, he can alter his structure (at unknow levels right now). he can even alter his age (as seeing in that birthday episode), wich kinda makes him potentially immortal... and who knows? since gems (even made of inorganic materia) seems to have some sort of DNA structure that is probbably infused wuthi his organic body, maybe steven can reproduce and create a new race of super beings? I dont think a human was intended to this process, of course, this was just an "accident" (sorry for my bad inglish)
Brad Geffrard He's also weaker than the primary combat gems. There'd never be a reason to replace a quartz or agate with a hybrid. All the technical gems don't require any sort of training or teaching, so they're more efficient. His immunity to gem tech is only useful if he's a rebel. Homeworld can probably make defenses for their own weaknesses if they fight an enemy that has destabilizers, such as armor or shields.
i dont really think so, because gems can metally grow if they were "overcooked" (amethyst), and the need to eat, drink, learn is kind of a waste of time, while gems, i think, are the perfect "organism" (YD says they're not organisms {since she reffers at other species with hate as "organisms"}) because since they are made, they can serve a constant use to the society (that i consider tecnically perfect {since its self sustainable and we remove the necesary joy of each integrant}), i mean, they dont even need to rest and have an appearent infinite life 😜
Steven's character arc would really fit being forced into a war with sneeple. Imagine it, Steven, having grown, changed, and coming to terms with his mother's varied legacy and the war that preceeded him... then, boom Steven's watching gems poofed and shattered by sneeple, making tough calls, finding himself starting to identify with his mother long after he'd resigned himself to condemning her.
You know how there's a theory that White Diamond was the gem powering the pyramid? The clip at 5:28 shows Steven trying to pull it out, the face turning from an uninterested one to one with a small smile, and then the gem came out. What if that *was* WD, and she recognized Pinks presence?
I think the best proof for this is the fact that there are just so many warrior gems. Earth was even used primarily for quartzes. Why would an unopposed, intergalactic force have such a high demand of them?
Since 'Sentient Rocks' and 'Gems' mean mostly the same thing (other than gems in the traditional sense are minerals, and not technically rocks), it would be safe to assume that the 'Snake People/Sneople' would be called something similar to this theoretical name.
I think it's interesting to note that Steven seems to have a real aversion to Snakes, whenever he encounters them in at least 3 episodes ( Keep Beach City Weird, Onion Friend (Onion's Pet ; note Steven seems to find the mouse cute but not the snake) and one is mentioned to have bitten Pearl in Gemcation at the vacation house). We also see Lars wearing a shirt with a snake on it (also a scorpion and a dead bird) along with it being on the money. In writing Snakes can have many symbols, obvious ones are danger, evil, poison but we also see snakes used in medicine (the famous two snakes on a staff is a common medical symbol) and change (as snakes tend to shed their skin). There is also the old mystic symbol of Ouroboros or the serpent/snake eating it's own tail. This is used in alchemy and can mean either the cycle of life/death or an eternal unwavering force (which may work if you buy into the using gems to fuse with organics to make the ultimate being)that would still basically mean gems were created for a purpose and perhaps part of that purpose is to sustain the life of the origin species . It would also make a nice cycle if the gems rebelled against their organic overlords to then become overlords themselves destroying organic life beneath them.
It could be that white diamond is just so much more OP than the rest it would take all three to handle her. I mean size/power is a clear correlation, even though they can control their size to some degree, but pink was significantly small than blu and yellow, and blu is slightly smaller than yellow but their specializations are different so i'll chalk it up to that since we've seen them fight. So White diamond, being one of the more valuable, could arguably be freakish strong.
Having a another alien species or multiple species opposing the gem species would answer my long held question for why they had armies in the first place prior to the rebellion on earth, but apparently no one to fight. That being said, there are more possibilities than just organic life....or organic as we know it.
Something additional I'd like to posit, I don't know how far into nerdom SU cre is, but if the gems, an AI species that rebelled against an advanced organic race that's capable of creating life there are parallels between this and the Old One/Necron war in 40K (AKA the War in Heaven.) In which a race of robotic life goes on a purge against an advanced race of organics/ascended beings. The Old Ones created life (including humans) to fight the Necrons, so that could imply that Earth (as well as other planets) was seeded with life in order to create an easily replenished supply of troops to fight the Gems with. Gems colonize their creators seed life, when said life becomes advanced enough it's given the means to fight. The "sneeple" play it behind the scenes so they don't risk a second species rebelling against them, manipulating instead of trying to control them. If that is the case then alongside WD as a villain there could be just a seasons worth of material in exposing them as a thing that exists, much less a threat.
Slight twist, I think the Gems were created as weapons to fight off some greater threat by another possibly extinct organic race and thats also why we don't see White Diamond, shes the Diamond commanding the front lines on some galactic scale conflict and doesn't have time to deal with the pink diamond scandal.
The snake symbol on the currency is the "Join Or Die" snake, which makes sense because SU takes place in Delmarva, which in the SU universe was presumably one of the 13(?) original colonies. A future reveal of the creator of the gems does seem plausible though, I just think the snake thing is a stretch.
I figured that they were at war because their military establishment is HUGE if they are at peace: even given that they're eusocial creatures with several warrior castes. Rose's Rebellion couldn't possibly be their only problem, because from their POV that ended millennia ago (only recently did they discover that some Crystal Gems had survived). They must have a major-class foe.
Just pointing out that it's not been confirmed that White Diamond's gem is shaped the same as Pinks, but turned the other way around (as in hers points down while Pink's points up). Meaning the diamond on the money probably represents White, not Pink, which lends even more credibility to this theory.
Yes, yes, and yes! Totally on board with this. I was thinking that a sneeple are the creators of gem kind for fun but think about it, a race of intelligent people that lack limbs that could easily event something to pass on their labor too. Not sure what episode of Steven Universe it was was but Peral did say that Steven was crying about snakes with Steven replying that they didn’t have arms.
The snake on the currency is in refernce to the "dont tread on me" snake from the original 13 colonies en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gadsden_flag and i think the "snake people in incontrol of the world" thing is a reference to COBRA, from gi joe, as steven also has the "Guy" figurines which seem to me like the gi joe toys and the "armor of the fallen" is human armor judging by the samurai and medieval sets, likely friends of rose (Former lovers?) who died fighting with them.
Ok, I'm about to get weird here. Steven Universe often references and and barrows from various anime and science fiction shows. Are you at all familiar with the late 70s show Battlestar Galactica? (I'm not positive of the more recent SciFi Channel reboot.) In that show there is a robotic race called the Cylons. But, in the pilot, it is explained they are not the original Cylons. The originals were a reptilian race at war with humans. They built the robots to fight the humans. But when the reptiles were to make peace with the humans, the robots turned against their creators so they could continue the war, the only purpose they had. This would parallel the theory that Sneaple created the Gems. Given the Crewnivers tendency to reference, it adds a bit more plausibility to the theory.
Right, although in the 70s series the original reptilian Cylons had actually died out long before, so the robots had soldiered on (pun intended) and were inimical to humans, whom they regarded as a plague almost. The humans kept calling autonomous robotic construct "Cylons" after their now extinct organic creators.
Honestly now that White has been revealed, I kinda noticed something. She doesn't have a gem. Not only that, but she looks unlike, well, all other gems. She glows, for crying out loud. I think she might be the alien we've been talking about. Like, she created the great diamond authority and all the gems that came after. I mean, if she was a gem how would she exist without anything to create her? In addition, take into account White's Pearl. It took one diamond, White, to corrupt something to a point where even her fellow diamonds fear it. There's a stark difference between authority that White has and that Blue and Yellow have, considering how the two are terrified of just her pearl, something they barely see as a fellow gem.
"Why do the diamonds need a geo-weapon?" That's... actually a good question. Why do the gems need all those weapons? We do see alien life, but we haven't seen sentient alien life other than the gems. Now, a question I have is: Did the producers/writers/staff think that far ahead. hmmm
They thought about pink diamond/rose since the very very beggining
Lord Lima Bean True. But you can only account/think of so much. There's a good possibility that other alien species don't matter to the story at all. If it does, then that writing staff is brilliant
When you write a story you have to plan all things that will append since the begining if you don't want to be stuck in the middle because of scenario problems
I found this just normal
They have the entire show except season six planned I'm pretty sure because until recently season five was supposed to be the last season but then su was renewed again
I have been having this same thought ever since it was introduced, it is a doomsday weapon of ludicrous magnitude. If there is no enemy to use it on then it is useless also from the promo it seems the diamonds themselves don't know the full nature of their powers.
Little did we know the true final antagonist of Steven Universe was Steven's inner demons
Peridot uses the word "designed" when explaining how Gems adapt to gravity
Felicity Swan Well, we know most gems are made by inhecting stuff into rock, so probably that something has data preloaded.
*The true final antagonist of Steven Universe: Mental Health.*
I'm hoping that they'd be bipedal lizards than actual snake people, but I like the idea that the Diamond Authority's disdain for organic life stems from the "Sneeple."
Adding to that, I also hope that they're actually alien in appearance and not humanoid. I love the gems and their designs, but I do wish they were a little more alien-looking.
if the sneople created the gems they have the technology to holographically disguise themselves, so they will look human
Or they could be limbless snakes that pilot bipedal walking tanks that can deploy nukes from anywhere in the world. They're playing steven and the gems like a dang fiddle
i really expecting it if it was inspired from scallies(w/ch they called on FurAffinity)
What if they look like toffee from SVTFOE
Onion is 50% human and 50% sneaple
Jade Fields Ronaldo said they disguise as humans
Louis Le blanc Yeah and lets not forget how he put that mouse in his mouth after Steven didn’t feed it to his snake 🐍 🐍
nia drinks water plus his father doesn't talk at all
He does steal a space ship
The final boss is a fusion of white diamond and sneeple awakened onion.
Matt da witch The second war was when Jasper and Peridot invaded
chinerpeton The Steven Universe timeline is completely altered.
THAT MAKES *SO* MUCH SENSE
the steven universe bingo thing CN uploaded says "Ronaldo was right all along" maybe it's about those snake people
"The diamonds are not the final antagonist of the show". You're right. Trauma is xD
This would be an amazing reveal depending on how it’s executed!
Agreed, proper execution is key
i wander what the sneppl want if this is true.
Best reveal is to kill someone from the main cast to astablish that they are powerfull and no one is safe from them e(Not White, Blue or yellow because it would be pointless since we have almost no emotiomal connection to them)
They gonna pull their "no true villain" mantra through and redeem these sneeples too.
Enzo Lebold that would suck
Well i'd be surprised if it turned out to go like "allright, steven befriended everyone he ever met (what this show has been about so far), except those last 3 or 2 people, they just didn't want to, well then, gg, show ends here."
I'm saying "3 or 2 people", because they wouldn't actually make an entire sentient race evil, that's not ok, not only not for a kids show.
That's true. I took a screenshot a few months ago after seeing it.
it may be possible that yellow hates organic life because it led up to pink's supposed shattering
Hemlock She didn't seem too fond of them in Jungle Moon, either.
You thought they were made by aliens, BUT IT WAS I, DIO!
what if sneople is actually just a secret society that uses snakes as symbolism and its actually the humans that made gems/diamonds, it would explain why they share so many physical traits, and the reason we don't see serpentine features on gems.
How would that happen? Gems were a galactic empire during our stone age.
Vissia Forgeting technology that was used to reach and colonize new world seems unlikely.
Too bad that never happened, and there is no explanation why they create armies
Gems = Transformers, Sneeple = Quintensons.
Cartoon Network is really horrible for doing that,it explains why everything felt so rushed though.
does anyone question how just changing the angle of pink diamonds gem makes her a completely different gem…?
*Plot twist: Ronaldo is the final villain*
I believe that the Sophia AI is a hoax and she's basically just an animatronic puppet with scripted lines rather than an actual sentient being.
@@kershmaru237
I just want science to constantly advance.
Not.
the armor of the fallen was probably for human warriors who helped in the war
Fast forward to the series finale it's revealed that white diamond was the main antagonist
I'm still waiting for it to turn out that Onion was the one behind it all.
True.
Even tho the idea of "everything can be solved talking" that the show has is good, it's a little bit unrealistic when you realize there are intergalactical wars, planetary exterminations and tyrant empresses in the show
Not everyone is good.
MeroMeroDance The *scene* reminded me of Darling in the Franxx wedding scene
"I can see the show ending in season 6 or 7" damn I wish.
Unfortunaly this not happened, i think they not had time to introduce the snake aliens...
I imagine the whole pink diamond situation being like:
YD: Ok, we need to beat the shit out of these snakes.
PD/RQ: Man I want the earth to not help beat the shit out of the snakes! *dies*
YD: wtf, I'm gonna beat the shit out of the earth.
I think that the Armour of the fallen were used as empty bodies to fight in the war, being the shattered pieces of gems to take refuge in them or be put in them intended, they were used to fight
(Remember Frybo)
If sneople exist, I will post a video of me sky diving into a volcano
Midget Kangaroo Ronaldo has been right about everything else so far. (In some form or another)
Please do not :(
Awesome theory :3 I hope that the sneople are real too.
The true villain was the friends we made along the way (spinel)
I can't say I'd be looking forward to such a twist because it would be just the ultimate cop-out ever, however, I disagree with the notion that befriending the Diamonds "this early on"--it's the fifth season; just how much longer did you want them to drag this out?--even though I was severely disappointed by said spoilers. Also, I don't think we're going beyond season six. As it is, given the pacing of these episodes, it seems they're rushing plot lines because "oh shit, we actually ran out of time."
But I also have to raise the point that Steven Universe was never really headed for a big fight/second war, as much as that threat seemed to loom under the surface.
They want to blame all the world's problems on some single enemy they can fight, instead of a complex network of interrelated forces beyond anyone's control."
This pretty much spelled it out from the beginning and I can see Rebecca Sugar pulling such a thing, not just due to the Pink Diamond reveal but due to how she likes to manipulate her audience. (I swear, the only creative team more bitter and mean spirited than the Crewniverse, is the Teen Titans Go team.)
As for gems not evolving, I'm not sure about that.
NoirRaven Honestly, this show is not that well written and if the Crewinverse are really like that, then that is just sad.
honestly all the snake symbols flew right past me, holy crap my life is changed
I wonder if Cobra Commander would appear in SU's final season.:
"Sssssss-itizen-sssss of Beach Ssssss-ity! Sssssss-urrender or be Des-sssssss-troyed!"
"Cobraaaaaaaaa-LaLaLaLaLaLaLaLa!"
That or they were created by a god or White came into existence once light itself did and created the other gems I don't know
@@MaidenOfHusbands Could be.
Darkhorsearmor that sounds amazing!
Listening to the first few minutes knowing how the show turned out… 😅
AHH TOFFEE IS COMING BACK!!
*oh.. wrong show..*
Lame.
Every video you make gives me life

If I were to guess already known aliens that could be the Gems' creators, I propose you a race that:
1. Is focused on military conquests of planets, from which they then wipe all the life off,
2. Has a very strict authority, where the leaders are bigger than everyone else (and the current ones are named after colors),
3. Doesn't reproduce naturally, although biologically (Idk if it's cloning or what, they are born from tubes)
4. Their members are already half-AI, are programmed to be obedient soldiers, and given all the knowledge of who they are at the very beginning of their life,
5. Their main memory unit is a small thing on their body (though it can be detached, just for ten minutes)
6. Wear limb enhancers, that can be also utilized as weapons
7. Have very advanced technology (but that's kinda obvious)
8. Of what I'm pretty sure, are stupid enough to create a race of AIs that could rebel against them,
9. Have green skin and (usually) red eyes,
And renaldo isn’t weird. He talks factsss. Even about the “rock people.”
I know that the show, movie, and epilogue series are done. But if it does ever come back as a reboot here is my theory:
The gems colonies this galaxy.
Honestly I don't think the series has enough time left to introduce new concepts like this. Or it will be rushed.
Mark London It depends on how long this show is planing on going on. Still, this would not even be problem if this show had better world building and pacing.
bootyeater 69
I understand the point of the filler *AT FIRST* but now it’s ridiculous we already love the characters we don’t need to keep finding out about pointless characters lives yes I enjoy vidalia and onion and yes lars is now one of the most beloved characters, but geez how long do u plan on talking about these individuals when u have a deadline for a plot centric show
It goes to season 9 so far.
The armor outfits range in origin, some seem European and other Asian.
legit finALLY someone made a video on this!been waiting forever.. the other theory channels NEVERRRR touch on this >,
I trust that the show is sophisticated enough to be able to deal with the antagonists being systems- such as the culture of Homeworld- rather than just characters.
Great content! + you could totally be a voice actress stand-in for Sadie.
I’ve got an idea for a fanfic with other aliens, the main “character” being from an extinct race of robots. All those races have formed a united empire with a committee of its leaders who have been planning a revenge against the Diamonds, but they’re cool with the Crystal Gems.
THIS WAS MY THEORY! I was waiting for someone to post it
what IF gems are created with the prupose of resulting in STEVEN? an hibrid between a gem and organic? kinda makes him the ultimate being if you think about it. he can grow, he can evolve, he can reproduce, yet he has power, he can alter his structure (at unknow levels right now). he can even alter his age (as seeing in that birthday episode), wich kinda makes him potentially immortal... and who knows? since gems (even made of inorganic materia) seems to have some sort of DNA structure that is probbably infused wuthi his organic body, maybe steven can reproduce and create a new race of super beings?
I dont think a human was intended to this process, of course, this was just an "accident"
(sorry for my bad inglish)
Tio Clotildo Gems don't have DNA, Steven is made of the information that makes up a gem's consciousness given physical form and human DNA.
Pretty sure Steven is a downgrade imo
Ziggymo Reactions
Idk about that he’s invincible to gem weapons that are meant to poof gems but he’s also stronger than any human
Imagine it, Steven, having grown, changed, and coming to terms with his mother's varied legacy and the war that preceeded him... then, boom Steven's watching gems poofed and shattered by sneeple, making tough calls, finding himself starting to identify with his mother long after he'd resigned himself to condemning her.
what if white diamond is a snerson
now that'd be a twist
I wasn’t fond of this theory at first…but you make a compelling case 🤔
You know how there's a theory that White Diamond was the gem powering the pyramid?
The clip at 5:28 shows Steven trying to pull it out, the face turning from an uninterested one to one with a small smile, and then the gem came out. What if that *was* WD, and she recognized Pinks presence?
I think the best proof for this is the fact that there are just so many warrior gems. Earth was even used primarily for quartzes. Why would an unopposed, intergalactic force have such a high demand of them?
I’m thinking that the Sneple are similar to the Qu from the novel’s all tomorrows.
The snake on the money is actually a reference to the "join or die snake" from the revolutionary war, Ronaldo was just historically unaware.
If the crystal gems could take on a diamond, there could still be other powerful gem rebellions that could take the diamonds on.
YES!!! I have been waiting for this!
Trinston was here .
Steven is a cyborg
Wow I just realized that
Party boy was sneople foreshadowing and no one can convince me of otherwise
I figured that they were at war because their military establishment is HUGE if they are at peace: even given that they're eusocial creatures with several warrior castes. Rose's Rebellion couldn't possibly be their only problem, because from their POV that ended millennia ago (only recently did they discover that some Crystal Gems had survived).
They must have a major-class foe.
White Diamond bears the Maxtrix of Diamondship, which entitles her to rule the whole Gem race! ;-)
Just pointing out that it's not been confirmed that White Diamond's gem is shaped the same as Pinks, but turned the other way around (as in hers points down while Pink's points up). Meaning the diamond on the money probably represents White, not Pink, which lends even more credibility to this theory.
There's also a theory that Onion is actually half-snerson and will be used to show the sneople that coexistence is possible
It should also be mentioned that mayor dewey is the only human authority weve seen so far
Yes, yes, and yes! Totally on board with this. I was thinking that a sneeple are the creators of gem kind for fun but think about it, a race of intelligent people that lack limbs that could easily event something to pass on their labor too. Not sure what episode of Steven Universe it was was but Peral did say that Steven was crying about snakes with Steven replying that they didn’t have arms.
dang a whole video I have to avoid seeing until after seeing the huuuuge leaks. see ya! Whenever that happens. I'll come back for youuuu
The snake on the currency is in refernce to the "dont tread on me" snake from the original 13 colonies en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gadsden_flag
and i think the "snake people in incontrol of the world" thing is a reference to COBRA, from gi joe, as steven also has the "Guy" figurines which seem to me like the gi joe toys
and the "armor of the fallen" is human armor judging by the samurai and medieval sets, likely friends of rose (Former lovers?) who died fighting with them.
If you think about it, Steven is a superhero, he’s a human with powers
There's also forshadowing of Sneeple in "Ruby Rider," when Ruby had an encounter with a diamond back rattle snake.
Sofia is just an elaborate puppet, but I do like this theory.
