Neoslayer PW They never said why Garnet had to burn it, but the episode showed that the smoke from the burn was extremely dangerous. It’s possible just the image itself is deadly.
The scariest is that during literally any moment in the show, any fight, any song, any conflict resolution, any moment both dramatic and light, Spinel is standing still in the garden, waiting for Pink to come back for her.
Oddly enough I don't feel as bad for Spinel as I do for the Diamonds. These insanely powerful Goddess-Like Rulers that had the only off color of them, die, after she begged them so hard to not baby her. It's really sad when you think of it like their Baby-Sister or something.
The scary thing about the living walls isn't that they're watching you. It's the fact that they're living, thinking beings, with personalities and whatnot, being used as nothing more than *living wall art.* They don't even have a purpose like a soldier or a terraformer, they exist to be decoration.
@NotCrixio but for as long as they have inhabited home world they've been nothing but decoration, and what happens to them why they want to change the layout or decor?, yellow didn't have those powers back then, they would be obsolete, what happens to them, we're unsure
I could imagine Rose just exploding in a ball of light and Greg watching with a horrified expression, only to see Steven lying there after the light fades. That, or I'm completely wrong and something different happens.
Mr. WTF No. Steven Shoots out of rose stomach, leaving a hole. Greg catches him, but he is still attached by the umbilical cord. Then roses body glows pink as she goes into Stevens gem via tracing the umbilical cord.
Yes, this really puts into perspective how awful the Diamonds are. Also, I thought the Russia thing was an inside joke, Since Steven Universe was getting censored in Russia for explicit LGBT content, they decided to turn the tables and censor Russia. This is also why Ruby's wearing a dress in the wedding, because she was made into a boy in the Russian dub,
Also: the kindergarten could have been inspired or be a reference to Junji Ito’s “The Enigma of the Amigara Fault”. It’s a horror manga about people finding body-shaped holes of themselves along the cavern walls. Then, feeling *really* compelled to climb into their corresponding holes, they are literally sucked in and never seen again
I've been thinking about this lately: if White fused with someone while mind controling them, let's say that it's possible, would that fusion be controlled by only her? Would it have traits of the other gems?
@@turnipii4246 when gems shapeshift their gem stays the same, a small gem turning bigger is possible but a big gem shapeshifting into a small being would just make them look ridiculous
@@ashadeofblue6815 I don't think Lars was in his Body, since Steven was just sleeping, I think Lars just...stopped being a conscious entity like the Watermelon Stevens when Steven possesses them
I dont think you're conscious when you're bubbled, it's more like closing your eyes and opening them again but you have no idea how much time has passed. Like when Peridot gets unbubbled she immediately thinks she's still in battle and basically picks off where she left off even though serval minutes or hours had passed. So its creepy but not too bad
I like to think gems are concious about being bubbled, and as they float, they somehow can see, and when rhey get set free they go blind till they reform quickly
I like how no one pointed out that Peridot at some point said, “We are gems designed for conquering other worlds our bodies adjust to any planetoids.” And when you think about it, they are a military based society who only live to conquer. I think whatever designed the gems and diamond is the scariest thing.
An ancient super weapon left on autopilot and destroying entire planets programmatically spawning as many soldiers as they can for a war that likely ended a long long time ago...
Imagine being shattered by another gem and finally hoping for peace. Then a diamond forces a remainder of your gem to fuse with another shattered piece, to *experiment* That in my eyes, is truly horrifing.
Basically somebody removes every body part and organ leaving only your soul and then sews you together with another soul, giving back your physicality but as a monster from the stuff of nightmares
@@cmcphotography1 it’s basically like someone removed your soul from your body Took your body apart sewed your body parts to other people‘s body parts And then put your soul along with other peoples souls into that body kind of like human centipede it sounds horrible and painful
Isn’t it disturbing that gem experiments ended up in a hospital? How many of them just wonder into towns with people clearly having no clue what to do with them. The problem isn’t solved by Steven poofing a few when this is probably happening world wide
What do you think the Crystal Gems spent the last few thousand years doing? The cleanup from the war and the corruptions is still an ongoing process. Now the gestated forced fusion experiments just got added to the todo list.
Fr and plus the fact that they thought it was a patient from a car accident which means that somebody ran over it or something and then it was taken to the hospital somehow
Which means that jams and to these first fusions are just wandering around in the streets all over the Steven Universe earth and not just Beach city. Beach city might be one of the only cities that actually has Gems that aren’t all destructive and crazy but imagine The other earth residents just seeing a creature with colorful arms and legs chasing them down the street and not knowing what it is at all.
The fact that the diamonds' palanquins are shaped like the carbon structure of a diamond. And injectors are of the same structure as a virus. So much thought yet so much fear when I learned of this
@@NiennaFan1the injectors looks like virus! This is very cool actually, and also scary since irl the cells of a being are "round". Literally jems use the injectors to procreate in planets as viruses attacks cells injecting their DNA to multiply. With this POV Literally jems are the virus of the universe
Answer to the question on White Diamond Mind Control: Pink Pearl said she forgot everything she did while she was mind controlled. Therefore, Steven probably had to retell one the most horrifying events in his life to Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and the other diamonds. Creepy...
Something creepy that I don't think is talked about enough in SU is the whole "Blue making every gem in the room cry with her" thing. Something about that is just so unsettling to me, kind of like the mind-controllong thing.
Right! I was really glad when Steven pointed out how abusive that seemed when he was trapped in that tower thing with Connie. Of course Disney couldn't actually say the word abuse but "How many times did you lock her in here? How many times did you make her cry?" is very suggestive. To this day, I know that if Blue Diamond didn't protect the Earth due to how much Pink loved it before she "died", everyone in Steven Universe would've been fucked years ago. Instant colonization, "Could've been great" wouldn't have been just a projection, it would've been reality. And Yellow was really close to convincing her to get over her grief too. Scary thought.
@@mikeconrad1183 It was aired on Disney, and had to be approved. Also why they tied the wedding episode to the diamond arrival, cuz its plot important so the wedding couldn't be cut out
There were these two scenes on Lapis' debut. She was still on the mirror, when Garnet was coming close to Steven to take the mirror and then they scream "NOOO" repeatedly that really send me goosebumps and the other one where Steven asked Lapis on how to set her free, she responded using Garnet's face saying "OUT" while our perspective is getting eaten by Garnet. That really scared me 🥺
I think one of the scariest parts of SU is the nature of Pearls. Like, imagine being created with built in stalkholm syndrome, making you eternally infatuated with the being who you where built to be an accessory/servant for. Like, look at Pearl. How much of her loyalty to Rose was genuine respect, and how much of it was her programmed infatuation with her diamond?
I think the scariest concept is that all of the gem shards will never be found. Blue Diamond was called "A Shatterer" in some of the episodes, which means gems are being shattered all over the universe, meaning there's no way they could locate them all. Even if they did find the pieces, they get lost easily and those gems are lost out there to suffer in insanity.
Personally, I find the scariest concept in the show the fact that despite having absolutely no opposition, being a post-singularity intergalactic civilization, that we can see that so much of gem production is dedicated to creating soldiers. Even before the rebellion, the first batch of gems made were soldiers. What are the Diamonds at war with? And now that Steven made them stop fighting, what are they going to do without the Gem Empire holding them back?
It could have just been to help expand the empire, like, if there are other aliens or whatever in the universe, then the diamonds probably created soldiers to act as mass to help colonise/destroy those other species
My costume this year was actually someone under White Diamond's control! I thought it was a pretty spooky concept and I was excited to put it together.
+ETHAN Franco Which Rose Quartz are you talking about? The Rose we all know would have seduced the hell out of that little man. Our pink mom has a type. XD Unless, by "crush", you mean.. *death by snu snu...*
Napoleon was probably brought down by similar circumstances. If anything, Rose might have gotten with the corsican boy. Also, the heavily inhabited parts of Eussia are still there, so he'd still have to invade Russia.
Let me scare you... Did you know that strawberries and roses are from the same family? No? Because now you know! "but, Erico, what does this have to do with Steven Universe?" Remember that battlefield full of giant strawberries? Those strawberries may have already been rose feet made by rose in an attempt to erase the heavy past of that place, or worse, rose could have tried to heal the corrupted gems with her tears but she couldn't, so the roses grew where her tears fell
Also, when there where multiple Stevens in the episode they have the time hourglass, the original Steven, who started the duplicating, disappeared with all the others. The Steven from the past, was the one replaced in the current. So, the person we see today, is basically not the same Steven we’ve seen in the episodes beforehand. Creepy.
@@captured1477Maybe I’m wrong but didn’t they just prove it? The Steven who’s perspective we’ve been following throughout the entire episode literally turn to dust right next to the “new” Steven.
One of the best explanations for all this I've seen on how a gem could plausibly exist- they're a crystalline supercomputer core so high tech and organic in function they're literally grown. This core is surrounded in a cloud of microscopic nano forms used largely for rapid construction. That cloud is why a bubbled gem can't reform, it's locked away from the raw material it needs in order to physically rebuild itself. This is hypothetical technology at such an advanced level it actually surpasses biological systems on earth. Yet, with such streamlined internal systems, they'd certainly qualify as organisms. Just not water based, they're completely dry and clearly well adapted for space colonization. Essentially, if they weren't in human form,(which would've made much more sense) they'd be like a sentient space amoeba made of soft crystal skin able to mimic anything it sees in every way but color. Which is a strange weakness in that they seem to only be able to construct variables of their own crystal structure.
so imagine you've fought as a crystal gem in the gem war, and just as you defeat them all, just as you are celebrating with your friends so excited "we won!" and then you see the diamonds. a bright blinding light follows and your entire form is filled with pain as you see your friends turning into monsters you start losing control of your own mind
okay can you PLEASE talk about how White Diamond doesn’t have mind control. she has explicit said “i don’t want to spread my uninhibited self so thin” meaning she physically inhabits other gems which also explains why they are drained of color and have the same voice. mind control would be them using their own voice with her words
Gem shard is like the amalgamate from undertale, they are being experimented on, they ended up broken and combined with other people's mind and physical appearance, and they can never be fixed or be their whole person again
The living buildings are something I've been afraid of before seeing it on Steven Universe. I remember watching Unico in the Island of Magic as a kid. My mom rented it for me thinking "My daughters will love this, just look at this cute unicorn". Only Mom didn't know the plot was about a young girl who see's her older brother turn their parents, village and later every one in the world into block people. Then she watches the block people walk onto a boat and head to an island where they become part of a giant castle of the villain.
Yeah I don't get how people thought that they didn't have any emotions, they're alive to so why wouldn't they? They'd just be growing objects otherwise.
They have emotions, and feelings. Give the plant love and it will grow. If you don't, then it will die. Keep in mind your using all the things it needs. Like water and sunlight. I wouldn't be surprised if plants could talk to eachother.
@@Creatorsan Plants CAN talk to each other via root system. It's very cool how they can do that. They mostly use it to send nutrients to other plants in distress. :)
Kieran Vreeland yep, that’s why grass give off some kind of smell after you cut them to tell insects “YO,GTFO IM BEING CUT!!!” and they also give off some kind of frequency too being in pain after cut.
Ya know, I thought that the white diamond mind control was scary for a different reason: You through it was scary since it’s controlling sentient being against their will, *I thought it was scary since all the mind control victims were T posing.*
the first time we were introduced to a fusion mutant, I was actually horrified. I don't know what it was- but something about forced fusion made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable and made me want to take a short break from the show lol
And the enlarged Brazil. Either the gems don’t know how to draw accurate maps, or the world is in total destruction, or the animators didn’t bother to put any effort.
You forgot about the part where Steven was basically alone in that ship going faster than the speed of light and the gems wereagging behind the ship, not able to help him and he had to build up all his strength to press on that screen... What would happen if he couldn't, why would the gems/diamonds even add that feature. Would the gems/diamonds be in that predicament if they were sitting down... What if it was a different human in that spot than Steven, it's crazy! Especially thinking about it, glad they're ok now though!
One of the scariest things to me is the way homeworld's society sees people as objects, full stop. You are *a* quartz, *a* spinel, *a* topaz. You only need to be or are supposed to be different from the others because you're in a different place or are used for a different purpose. That's the horror of the living walls to me... there's absolutely no reason for the walls NOT to be living, because being a living thing doesn't make you special. It just makes you potentially more useful.
ChillaToxic i've always imagined her doing it alone, maybe in a temple room or something, and her body just kind of disappearing in a flash of light and her gem transforms into steven
I presumed that when Rose went into labor, she just collapsed in pain, and asked everyone to leave her alone while she basically poofed herself. And then once she was poofed, queue trying to form into Rose, but instead the gem forms into baby Steven.
#1 is actually pretty easy. Russia censored several hints of Ruby and Sapphire being a gay couple. Russia censores a gay couple, Rebecca censores Russia. That seems like the most legit theory in my opinion.
This show has sooo many incredible, unique, and terrifying concepts. I wish they had explored the Diamond's powers more, like,Steven/Rose/Pink can ressurect the dead, and the person/animal obtain powers like teleportation and they become a portal to the Pink Dimension, another dimension created out of nowhere, imagine what the other diamonds can do.
The living walls concept reminds me a lot of the "colonials" from _All Tomorrows_ which was basically where cubes of sentient flesh and eyes were sewn together to make a flesh quilt and forever suffer. Big yikes.
Yes, there are. There are warps across the globe that the crystal gems have traveled to. I think it was shown in the episode where the founder of a library traveled across the world and discovered and documented the various gem locations around the world and I also think Jamie did a play on it once. Although, I'm solely referring to the first 5 seasons of the show where Steven and the crystal gems bubbled corrupted gems.
The doomsday attack at the end of the gem wars seems to have destroyed or corrupted every gem on earth that wasn't under Rose Quartz's big shield. Lapis Lazuli (in the mirror, cracked) and Bismuth (in the lion dimension) were protected too. Everything else died(?) or mutated to monsters. The warps on Earth only connected to other Earth warps. The intergalactic pathways were ruined until Peridot's drones started working on them.
0:57 A really common theory I've been seeing about Russia missing is that it's where the galaxy warp was placed. Seeing that it's entirely ocean around the place in the show, I don't think it's too far-fetched to assume they launched the galaxy warp towards earth and it blew up a ton of it millions of years ago.
4:22 Not to be rude, but it's not a fungus. The "mind control" fungus you're talking about is the Cordyceps fungus, the fungus that forces ants to climb to "perfect spots" on trees to split their head open and release their spores. The mind control animal you're talking about here (The one that forces its victims to drown) is actually a hairworm. They force their victims (usually crickets) to jump into water to complete their life cycle. Once again, no hate. Just wanted to point it out.
6:15 Actually I'm not sure if anyone else but me noticed this but in the episode Homeworld Bound in Steven Universe Future you can actually see one of these living wall creatures uh...should I say "walking"(?) around and enjoying themselves so it just goes to show how much Homeworld has changed and isn't forcing them to...well be walls
NO WAY, YOU’RE RIGHT. I remember being in biology, studying living and non living stuff, and saying that I already saw one of the virus structure on the board somewhere in my home country (which was some years ago). I thought it looked like a machine Phyneas and Pherb created (I don’t remember what it was called, but it was sentient). Nonetheless, it looks more like the kindergarten’s thing. Jeez that makes that sht creepier
I think “gem harvesting” is where gems are liquified and put back in the injectors. This explains how we get “fusion” single gems like Jasper. Also could explain why emerald was so desperate to catch lars and his crew (fluorite)
Even though Steven universe was usually wholesome and funny I have to admit there were some pretty scary points and pretty deep topics being represented
Take out your tissues, cause I'm bout' to ruin your day with this "fun" fact about Steven Universe Future: (spoiler warning, of course) Pumpkin is dead. And it's been confirmed.
7:48 that looks similar to when stevens gem was rejuvinated...... Wait does that mean that those shards were rejuvinated so much that they lost the abilitie to form?
Am I the only person that absolutely loved the scene where pink Steven and human Steven hug and dance around in front of white diamond after she rips out his gem? .... just me?
One thing I find really creepy. You know how each fusion has a specific theme that plays whenever they're active? The mutants have that too - a corrupted, garbled mess of clashing synthesised notes, as if not even the show can comprehend these horrors
Funfact: The Kindergarden was based of a Junji Ito manga, the manga is about holes that appear after an earthquake shaped exactly like people who live near it. The holes seemed endless and people would enter their holes, and never comeback out.
8:29 so my thought is that all gems were born to follow what they’re supposed to do and refuse to disobey their orders. To anyone who had played Detroit: Become human you might be able to make a connection when the androids suddenly “wake up” and become deviant. In su, eventually the crystal gems realized that they deserved freedom and stuff and they started to fight against the diamonds, much like the androids make a stand against humanity
2:58 Ngl.... That would make for a _really_ cool book or movie. Like, people start going missing, while this super rich and influential person becomes more and more attractive and healthy. Eventually, it turns out that the rich person is using the missing people to make themselves look and feel better through terrifying means. I dunno, that just sounds super cool to me in, like, a terrifying way. :D
I think what’s most disturbing about the “wall gems” goes far beyond that it’s creepy that the walls have eyes watching you. What’s disturbing is that they’re literally living beings being turned into objects. It’s disgusting. It’s the same thing they did to lapis.
2:23 omg i never picked that up thats so creepy all those gems forced together just in yellows room lile her experiments and then theres the crystal gems just sitting above yellow like they were next 😮
What seems even creepier to me about the living walls is that they cannot move. They're essentially in a similar state to what Spinel was in, but for eternity.
The cluster itself could be a horror series, just imagine a bunch of gems going on an adventure to unravel the horrors of the diamonds then finding their friend’s remains forcefully fused together
What terrifies me about the inanimate gems on homeworld isn't the idea of being watched all the time; it's a more existential horror than that. They're obviously intelligent, sentient beings, with complex thoughts and emotions but they're just STUCK and they CAN'T EVER MOVE. THAT is horrifying to me. That they're like prisoners in their own bodies and minds and have been FOR MILLENIA
I don't know if this was ever talk about with White Diamond's "Mind Control", but given her depiction of narcissism and perfectionism, it's safe to assume that her ability is less so mind control but more literal Projection. When you think bout it, narcissists have the tendency to project their own problems onto others. In the context of the gems, they're made of essentially light from their gems, and how did White put it in Change your mind? "I've removed their flaws, now there is nothing to hinder my white light from sparkling through them." and of course later... "Now they are perfect, now they are ME." She literally projects herself into others, seemingly to rid them of their "flaws", flaws that are potentially hers to begin with that she later sees in others before eyeball blasting them.
8:47 What's even more scary is the fact that White Diamond is likely the closest to what their creators envisioned (Based on how she is in charge of Gem society and seems the closest to following an algorithm for "perfection") I have to iterate that this is speculation
4:41 I tend to think it should be Gem Production, not Reproduction. As we were taught in The Classroom Gems, they are made and not born. What do you guys think?
@@anonymousperidot7446i imagine Steven was made via rose infusing some of Greg's dna into her and she reformed and ended up as steven, and the human side of Steven now is the only part that can have kids, since he doesnt even have gem dna, so if he had a kid he wouldn't become his kid nor would the kid be part gem
The cluster is a combination mass grave of mutilated bodies and weapon of mass destruction. I frankly struggle to think of anything more horrendous than that.

Because of the LGBT+ elements.
Another example, Trini was made bisexual and Russia retaliated by making the new Power Rangers movie Rated R.

I find the entire concept of being bubbled to be pretty creepy.
It's kinda like cryogenic freezing.

@@LoreCatanI agree but steven universe wasn't made by Disney

There were these two scenes on Lapis' debut.
I also wonder if some of built-in loyalty and love for Greg was carried within her mind even after regaining her memories..
The other pearls don’t show as much love for the diamonds
Pearl genuinely loved Rose, but she never got rid of her programmed mindset entirely (also, what's scarier is they can be forced to do anything)
If Steven's saliva brought unliving things to life, imagine all the food he eats coming to life just to die right after..
I think he has to be emotional to some degree for it to work otherwise he would've made cutlery and other things sentient because his saliva got on it

I think the scariest concept is that all of the gem shards will never be found. @@demi-femme4821the good yellow fantastical creature and the bad one!
It's primarily organic lifeforms. Have you seen a home world gem with a organic lifeform together? Nope.
Presumably the soldier gems were used primarily to fight other civilizations in order to colonize them.

@@captured1477Maybe I’m wrong but didn’t they just prove it? The Steven who’s perspective we’ve been following throughout the entire episode literally turn to dust right next to the “new” Steven.
No, he talked to a Steven who hadn't yet done all that
I think it’s pretty scary how white diamond removed Stevens gem.
Which is a strange weakness in that they seem to only be able to construct variables of their own crystal structure.
so imagine you've fought as a crystal gem in the gem war, and just as you defeat them all, just as you are celebrating with your friends so excited "we won!"
and then you see the diamonds.
a bright blinding light follows
and your entire form is filled with pain as you see your friends turning into monsters
you start losing control of your own mind
okay can you PLEASE talk about how White Diamond doesn’t have mind control. she has explicit said “i don’t want to spread my uninhibited self so thin” meaning she physically inhabits other gems which also explains why they are drained of color and have the same voice. mind control would be them using their own voice with her words
The one terrifying Steven Universe concept not mentioned because SU:F hadn't come out yet, is Steven's worsening mental state.
You could notice what was happening to Steven in the original series, though.
Or you couldve determined atleast the effects of those events.
👌
5:04 i mean, The Enigma of Amigara Fault is one of Junji Ito's creepiest story for a reason. they even reference it.
Actually, there’s some new science that shows that plants have feelings. They have some extent of sentience.
Yeah I don't get how people thought that they didn't have any emotions, they're alive to so why wouldn't they? They'd just be growing objects otherwise.
SuperStarWhale good comparison
They have emotions, and feelings. Give the plant love and it will grow. If you don't, then it will die. Keep in mind your using all the things it needs. Like water and sunlight.

I dont really like that Hospital episode. For unknown reason
the finger cats and the force fusions in the hospital gave me fricking nightmares

Cluster gems are terrifying and tragic. One of the worst atrocities homeworld has committed. They are like a horrible mockery of fusion.

“It’s the equivalent of you dying and some rich guy using your organs to live forever!”
That’s the plot of Get Out, my guy
*a literal horror movie*
The living walls concept reminds me a lot of the "colonials" from _All Tomorrows_ which was basically where cubes of sentient flesh and eyes were sewn together to make a flesh quilt and forever suffer. Big yikes.
I'd be more scared about a hospital that doesn't see a problem with a person with multiple arms, no head, and no heartbeat.
My question is, is that are there other gems in other continents or countries besides where Steven is 🧐
Yes, there are.
Neat?
My favorite creepy thing about the Kindergartens is the fact that the things that plant the gems look very much like a type of microscopic parasite.
@MustyDP Yeah! That’s the name
Imo the most terrifying one is forced fusion that’s like being forced to go to hell without any chances to do something good
I think “gem harvesting” is where gems are liquified and put back in the injectors. This explains how we get “fusion” single gems like Jasper. Also could explain why emerald was so desperate to catch lars and his crew (fluorite)

Ngl....
Have you heard of Get Out?
I think what’s most disturbing about the “wall gems” goes far beyond that it’s creepy that the walls have eyes watching you. What’s disturbing is that they’re literally living beings being turned into objects. It’s disgusting. It’s the same thing they did to lapis.
2:23 omg i never picked that up thats so creepy all those gems forced together just in yellows room lile her experiments and then theres the crystal gems just sitting above yellow like they were next 😮

What's even more scary is the fact that White Diamond is likely the closest to what their creators envisioned (Based on how she is in charge of Gem society and seems the closest to following an algorithm for "perfection")
I have to iterate that this is speculation
4:41 I tend to think it should be Gem Production, not Reproduction. As we were taught in The Classroom Gems, they are made and not born.
What do you guys think?
Though that does get me thinking, how did Steven come out? If he tried to make a kid would he have to give up his gem or will he be ok?
@@anonymousperidot7446i imagine Steven was made via rose infusing some of Greg's dna into her and she reformed and ended up as steven, and the human side of Steven now is the only part that can have kids, since he doesnt even have gem dna, so if he had a kid he wouldn't become his kid nor would the kid be part gem

not just fungi can do that look up horeshair worms if you want to see an animal variation on the theme.
The cluster is a combination mass grave of mutilated bodies and weapon of mass destruction. I frankly struggle to think of anything more horrendous than that.
That scariest thing is when you realize spinel is in the garden the WHOLE SHOW.
