Great job! I got a notice on my vessel view about overheating and the dealer recommended I change the impeller. Thanks for making a difficult job look easy. Going to save me a lot of money
Very good video. Appreciate all the tips and methodical takedown. I'm coming up to 3 years on my Merc 150 and I need to do the same. One tip I've seen marine mechanics do is to place a fine layer of PTFE marine grease in the impeller housing so it doesnt spin dry on first startup. Not sure about loctite, In salt water, I'm thinking small coating of grease on all the bolts to allow future dis-assembly.
Thanks! I did put a dab of grease in the housing may not have shown it in the vid though... loc tight was just on the bolts. Keep in mind my vids are more a "watch me do it" as opposed to a "this is how to do it" lol. Glad you enjoy sir thanks again!
I had a 03 Merc 90 2 stroke on my old boat. It pissed like a race horse for years and after about 12 years the stream started to become less. I got a new impeller put in figuring for sure that was the problem. Got it back and it still had bad flow. I pulled the little hose going from the engine to the outside and there was a little bit of Zebra mussel in there blocking it.
Good job. Got the same motor, haven't done my impeller yet. You run a transom saver? Just ordered the new one for the xs's from dd26, anxious to try it out.

Good video, thanks. Have to change on my 250 soon. First thing I’m doing is building one of those stands
Nice job! I appreciate the step by step and cautions.
Glad it was helpful!

Yes sir I use the one that uses the trailer for support. Thanks for the view!
Great video thanks for sharing.
CAN I CHARGE MY TROLLING MOTOR BATTERIES FROM THE BIG MOTOR AS I AM MOVING FROM WAYPOINT TO WAYPOINT?
You need an inverter. I believe minn kota makes one.
what is the part number did you use for this video? thank you
Impeller is on backwards from when you took it off.
The fins are rubber, they right themselves the second you start the motor. Thanks for watching!
Yup it's backwards
Why wouldn't you just put the impellar in the right direction to begin with ?
