On snow you need real winter tires, ie Nokian, which has been the best snow tire for decades, they make them up to 35 inch size, and in 44 inch!!😀 on my Arctic Truck with 37" wheels though, I have hand siped Bf Goodrich K2's with 250 studs in each tire. Regular Mud Tires on snow is like Bambi on the ice!😩. What was the alltitude and were in the alps is this? Nice Landy!👍
Конечно. Широкая резина хороша только для глубокого снега, песка и болота. На твердой, скользкой поверхности и при подъеме в гору нужна максимально узкая резина. При использовании узкой резины давление на лед увеличивается тем самым улучшается сцепление со льдом.

That's embarrassing! No snow tyres make the defender look rubbish at climbing a slight slope.
Any car in snow environment would be a rubbish,if there's no snow tyres.
