A very successful project and an excellent report.
I have one of the original '127' HiCaps with the stretched chassis, it's now 40 years old. It has served me well.

I can't believe that you did most of the work with hand tools and rattlecans. Good job, especially in the paint. But I guess I missed you welding the roof together, did I?

There was a UK zombie show with a 110 pickup in dark grey. It was beautiful. I've wanted one ever since. Amazing to see you build your own.

Brilliant job ! The beauty of the defender is that you can strip the body in half a day. We rolled our defender in Portugal and had the bodywork sorted in no time, you can cut and chop and change it around to suit your needs which you cannot do with any other brand. Still the best 4X4 by far.

What a fantastic job, you transferred that station wagon into a double cab Ute, i’ve owned three defenders in my life here in Australia beautiful cars. Take a lot of punishment ,I travelled all outback with my cars. They stand up to anything, not like the cars they make today.😅
I just started my channel about my build taking a FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser and turning it into a FJ45 pickup. Many of the items you worked on here are exactly the same as I plan to do such as taking the fiberglass top, cutting it to fit a pickup body and fiber glassing it together. I've been featuring videos about the small but necessary items that need to be done to the truck now during the winter time in Maine USA.
Your truck looks good and gives me inspiration.

Helper aside, excellent starting point with the troopy. Likewise the finish looks quite bonkers good as well. If I had the option, I'd have both. Probably with different engines but that's just me. Thinking more about it, if the wrecked double cab is still available, might be fun to get it as well to make it into a safari or total soft side.
Like the roof, door uppers and rear are heavy duck canvas with vinyl widows. See about sourcing up windshield hinges for when the roof and door tops are off, just fold the screen down.

Fantastic work well done! I’ve now sold my 110 (needing to drive too many miles across the UK, so needed a more modern car) but I spent 7 years upgrading my 110. A quick, low cost and immediately impactful upgrade was fitting the SlickShift aluminium gear shift piece to the stick, I think you have the TD5 which I think is £100 for the SShift, only takes 30mins to fit and stops gear shift feeling like stirring porridge! :) happy driving

That defender has always been my dream car. someday I will get it.
I didn't even know these were rare as your dream truck is basically been parked only a couple hundred meters away, here in our village, for as long as I can remember.
It's a great build though and I would keep the orange indicators
