- Hello TH-cam,
Today, we are changing the Air Intake Tube on a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250. This is common maintenance item that usually start to fail around the 75k-100k miles or 10 years from the date of manufacturer.
Follow our step-by-step tutorial on how to change the air intake tube for a fraction of the cost of what the Dealer wants to service this item. The cost for the part with a Lifetime Guarantee should be less than $250.
PS - You can also just replace the rubber hose using an aftermarket part if desired. Mercedes doesn't sell the rubber hose by itself so you have to go aftermarket.

Did you find out what the name of the hose is?
@@ErikRuiz-ye9nc Purge Line
Thank you. I just broke mine and I’m trying to figure out how to fix it
Apologies for the late response as I found this message in the Spam folder. We searched all through EPC Online catalog and could not locate the hose there. It seems to be the Purge Lin as you stated based on other information we found.

Just FYI, that little hose with the cut you showed at the beginning of the video is available for purchase on amazon for about $12 and takes about 5 minutes to replace. No need to replace the entire intake. Did mine a year ago, no issues.
Thanks for the feedback, we just wanted to show the complete replacement if you decided to change the entire pipe. Glad to hear the aftermarket piece is still working good for your after a year though.
Thanks again for hanging out, Cheers!

I have a problem with my c250 2013 I cannot find the secondary air valve, the code I get is p0412, and p0413, secondary air pump has electrical fault and secondary air valve has short circuit, I cannot find any secondary air pump on this cylinder turbo engine, please help
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Mercedes George. There are several causes for these errors but keep in mind those are generic codes and not MBZ codes. Sometimes it can be a lot more difficult to pinpoint the exact issues with a Mercedes if you are not using the Star system.
That being said the common causes for the errors codes are:
Electrical - either a connection issue (plug) or wiring has damage
Vacuum - There is a crack or leak in one of the vacuum lines going to the SAI system
SAI Pump - The pump itself is not functioning and you hear no sound upon cold starts
Here is the link to the pump-

Good luck on your MBZ project, let us know how it goes.

Great video, thank you. But when I look up air intake hose I get what connects to the front of the car not the part you be are charging. Do you have a part number or a link to one?
Thanks for the comments Joel, glad you enjoyed the video. We posted the product link in the description. Here is the Mercedes Part #2710902029

Yeah, I am an idiot. Thank you for replying.
@@JoelEiholzer-sd4om No worries, glad we could help get your sorted. Let us know how it goes on your Mercedes-Benz project.

What happens if i find a litle oil on this broken hose?
Thanks for the question Walter, if you have oil instead of coolant, you may have bad oil seals on those hard metal lines. These are adjacent to the coolant lines and involve a similar repair.
Good luck on your Mercedes project.
Cheers!
why replace the whole thing when only the small one is damaged and is sold, and dont need to remove the whole thing to change it,
Thanks for the feedback Simon, we just wanted to show the complete tube replacement for those that want to use OEM parts. You can get an aftermarket hose for around $15 online that can get you up and running without any issues.
I will add a link to the description if someone just wants to replace the broken rubber hose piece.
Cheers!
