Hello, just recently discovered your TH-cam channel. Enjoyed the Q&A and the honesty with which you answered the questions. Love the bloopers at the end of each video!
So cool guys! I'm finally flying to Danang in a couple of hours time, but heading to Hoi An first. I'll be watching your video from Hoi An on your Danang adventure.
Your videos are great and the bloopers are wonderful addition. Though I hate you guys for not filming more in Singapore (where I'm from :p), but all is good. :) From your videos, I'm sure some of your viewers may very well embarked on a trip of their own as well. Good job!!!
We got to the Fivitel Boutique hotel today! There is also a "Fivitel hotel". We almost booked the wrong one. We told them that we heard about this place from YOU GUYS! Even showed the front desk people your video so if you make it back here, hopefully they will give you a deal! Thanks again, we are following your adventures. My wife is Vietnamese and you're going places even she has never been.
Best way to travel light is pack no clothes and buy everything you need for 3 days in the city you're visiting and just rewash as needed for as long as you're there. Then just toss it out when you move to the next location. Just consider it as a convenience tax for traveling extremely lightly, which feels like a luxury.
I recently discovered you guys and your journey here on TH-cam. After watching this Q&A video, I immediately went back and watched the other 2 Q&As that you uploaded. Just want to say that I love what you're doing. Your honest, non-gimmicky Cinéma vérité style is refreshing. I'll admit - with a crowded field of TH-cam travel couples (especially in SE Asia) I'm a bit tired of seeing the same restaurants & experiences over and over again (think Bangkok capsule hotel or overnight train journey). Your channel reflects a genuine love for travel. Thank you for taking us along for the ride. ***that said*** are their plans to ramp up your game and do this as a career? There are channels that are putting out slick 30 minute, professional, highly edited TV show-like videos. Drone shots, epic cinematic B-roll, Patreon supporters, One Pack Wanderers T-shirts and signature brand coffee? If you wanted to, I'm certain that OPW could be up there with the others. You guys are genuinely likeable, dorky at times (especially Tia, who's reactions to the smallest things are so adorable!), and have a certain chemistry that so many others lack. If you could strike a balance between what you're doing now (keeping it real, yo) and what the super-slick Big Time TH-cam travel channels are doing, you'd have unending success. Just my 2 cents - please continue to do what you're doing. Love the channel, love you guys. Thank you.
Hey! Thank you for the thoughtful comment. This one made us think quite a bit. We're definitely a way off from some other channels in terms of cinematography and overall filming skill. I think in those areas there's a lot of room for improvement, and we enjoy the process of (hopefully) becoming better there. At the same time, there will probably be a limit to how polished our videos ever get as we continue to film 99% of our shots on phones and post every other day. We'd like to get a drone to add better context, especially for nature shots. It is a big investment and drone laws seem to get more complex in every country we visit, but it's still something we'd like to do. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts 🙂
@@OnePackWanderers Either way, whether you scale up or keep on doing what you're doing, I wish you continued success. I love travelling vicariously with you two! Thank you.
my packing travel hack... im a backpack traveler.... and 80% of my "clothes" are close to many years of being worn or tears, small holes and i will wear them during duration of my vacation days and toss them out... it will save 80% of your backpack, luggage space... for more crap you do you want, buy.. haha! of course if it was a year of traveling.. i would bring more decent clothing (usually 3 days worth) and reason to have a laundry, relaxing half day to do that.
Loved the video guys! Very inspiring, we're seriously considering biting the bullet and doing some full time travel after we finish this working holiday! We can definitely vouch for points hacking/credit card churning it has changed our world when it comes to flight/lounge affordability. Keep up the awesome work guys... it's onwards and upwards from here 😊
I so agree with your advice about leaving half of what you think you'll need at home! I left home for 6 months with a 24" hard-shell rolling suitcase (carry-on) and a biggish computer backpack. I thought that wasn't much, but they were heavy, so now as I leave each country, I end up throwing some things away. I wouldn't take more than 1 carry-on piece of luggage in the future, and I would make it my Osprey backpack. (Wish I'd brought that instead of the suitcase!)
Great video. As someone who loves longer term travel you guys great example of how if you want it you can do it. I hope you work out the visa thing, so much left in Vietnam for you to experience. I love Da Nang, But or course you have to get down to Hoi An. Banna hills not so much.

Thank you for being so honest about your expenses. Most "digital nomads" claim their TH-cam supports them which I know is not true. I live and travel overseas. I agree with your $36,000 as a reasonable amount if you are paying for flights, hotels, and food. It is not much cheaper traveling solo unless you sleep in a dorm at a hostel. I traveled the USA at the end of Covid and it was super expensive.

Hi- love your video contents due to it’s mix of fun and facts. Not sure if this has already been covered but what travel insurance do you use or recommend. Thanks
Hey there! We use Safety Wing insurance. We be had to use them once and they did come through and cover it, minus the deductible. They are quite slow to pay out, but in the end all was well 🙂
We all know they made not too much from youtube but you have to understand that some people just want to make video for them selve, not for viewer like a memory. Me doing this as well .I just do streamjng and sometime open the stream history to watch and enjoy my self that is enough.
Hi you two, I have been enjoying your videos so much. I hope one day I get to travel like you two. Do you have any problem with your passport pages running out? If you do run out, what will happen? Thank you.
This is a really good question! We are planning to go home this summer to visit family for a couple weeks, and we’ll get our passports renewed then so we have more pages. In a pinch, US embassies can supposedly issue a new passport.
@@OnePackWanderers Happy to hear. You won't be stuck!! Enjoy while you are young and able. Having money is not good if you don't have your health to go with it. How do people buy you a coffee or donate?
wow thats quite a bit of money to earn posting content , even though its only a thirth of the year income from a minimum wage full time job in the netherlands and you guys putting in way more hours shooting the content and editing it , you guys do a verry good job on it though and it stays interesting to watch throughout the time i been following youre travels i can see it being enough to live of (frugally) in asia though any problems arizing ( like realy bad weather , being in a hospital or having to fly home for an emergency could blow the budget to smithereens )
Haha we've had the same thoughts. Sometimes we think, wow, this is a lot of money we're making. And then we do the math on what it works out to per hour and it's not so pretty 😂 But can't complain, we're doing what we want to be doing. You are absolutely right about it being enough to live off of in Asia. If we didn't move around as much we could probably make it work indefinitely (though like you say a health issue or emergency would blow it to smithereens).
Alot of vietnamese are not good at E, so the views are low. U should make videos in Philippines. They are very interested in travelling vlogs and they are also very good at E
It appears that between film editing and bike riding you guys don’t have time to explore the local cultures, food, history etc... It’s like your own version of The Amazing Race. Hopefully, you take notice some of the places and revisit them in the future. It’s nice to sit down and smell the roses in your favourite places. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
It has been a very delicate balance in Vietnam. This country is bigger than most realize, I think. Well over 1000 miles from end to end. Pair that with a 30 day visa and we have to be mindful of it. In other countries it is easier to slow down. That said, we are seeing a bit more than it seems 😅 I think us only filming/posting every other day gives the impression that this trip has been even more rushed than it is. We spent 4 days in Dalat and 5 in Da Nang, for example. So we've had a bit of time here and there.
Yea we took the inland route, up through Kon Tum and then over to Da Nang via DT672 if I recall correctly. Was a nice, but long, drive through the mountains. How did you like the coastal route? We've been tempted but we're weary of the traffic.
@@OnePackWanderers I think the traffic is always heavy along the coast between the big cities. But the Mang Yang pass is famous for French GM Group Memorial. Coming out of the An Khe Pass onto the coastal plain is very pretty.
If you have more time, include more b-rolls, invest in a mini cheap drone (probably with a 1080 cam at least) and include arial shots. Those really tend to boost your viewer counts. If you are interested in visiting a countryside near HCMC to see and try lots of tropical fruits, I'm pleasured to invivte you to my garden ( FOC :) ). Wish you all the best with your trip and continue to save good memories of Vietnam.
Such a good Q&A! I'm glad your income from TH-cam and Buymeacoffee helps you with your travel expenses. 😊
Cheveyo’s new phrase. That’s not sponsored!
🌺 Mahalo for giving us straightforward tips and answers, Tia and Che-vey-o! Hope you can extend your visas and put many more miles on May, Delilah, and Chad! 😂
Owe dam i wanted to ask if you plan on travelling past the year and if youve spend around 32 now do u think it will be 50 in total if you end your travelling at the 1 year mark or will you keep going if possible
AND is ya dad enjoying the trip
You two are just way too cute together. Stop it! LOL
😬😅
Did you skip Hoi An?
Respect!~
Hi- love your video contents due to it’s mix of fun and facts. Not sure if this has already been covered but what travel insurance do you use or recommend. Thanks
Hey there! We use Safety Wing insurance. We be had to use them once and they did come through and cover it, minus the deductible. They are quite slow to pay out, but in the end all was well 🙂
@@OnePackWanderers . Thanks for the info. Safe travels
That’s funny that you want your bike to break so you can fix it!
Are you guys still in Da Nang?
Live the life 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I'm also a Virgo. Lets go Virgooooo lol
Love the Q&A! But where's the Dad section?! 😂 I hope you get your visa extended!!!
Hahaha at this point dad may start his own channel!
@@OnePackWanderers Bravo in advance!🎉🍾🎊
ผมแนะนำให้ไปต่อที่ Philippines นะครับ
We all know they made not too much from youtube but you have to understand that some people just want to make video for them selve, not for viewer like a memory. Me doing this as well .I just do streamjng and sometime open the stream history to watch and enjoy my self that is enough.
Yep, if we wanted to be rich we wouldn’t be doing this.
Thanks for sharing
I have a question too! How do the both of you keep your teeth so white????
wow thats quite a bit of money to earn posting content , even though its only a thirth of the year income from a minimum wage full time job in the netherlands and you guys putting in way more hours shooting the content and editing it , you guys do a verry good job on it though and it stays interesting to watch throughout the time i been following youre travels
i can see it being enough to live of (frugally) in asia though any problems arizing ( like realy bad weather , being in a hospital or having to fly home for an emergency could blow the budget to smithereens )
@@OnePackWanderers That’s awesome! Looking forward to seeing more videos from you guys. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
🌹❤️❤️🥰👍 wish you guys all the best
Thank you 😊
Mom! I love them ♥ So much!
How did you miss announcing "Tia for scale" on that bed?
It's two double beds pushed together 😁
Trying to understand your route from Plieku to DaNang. I traveled QL 19 and QL 1. Did you travel inland Route?
Yea we took the inland route, up through Kon Tum and then over to Da Nang via DT672 if I recall correctly. Was a nice, but long, drive through the mountains.
How did you like the coastal route? We've been tempted but we're weary of the traffic.
@@OnePackWanderers I think the traffic is always heavy along the coast between the big cities. But the Mang Yang pass is famous for French GM Group Memorial. Coming out of the An Khe Pass onto the coastal plain is very pretty.
Can you guys go to Bangladesh
If you have more time, include more b-rolls, invest in a mini cheap drone (probably with a 1080 cam at least) and include arial shots. Those really tend to boost your viewer counts. And also, interact with your audience in the comment section! Happy n safe travels! I’ve started watching your vlogs since the Singapore one, (I’m from there) and I’ve been binge watching your content ever since ❤️
Definitely are looking into a small drone! It is a pretty wild web of laws these days to fly them legally, but we are interested in making it work 🙂
