Glad you got a day without too much rain for visiting the Citadel. When I was in Hue it rained all the time. Was afraid we'd hear "the penny dropped" and the bikes would end up on a train. But now you have a long ride ahead and the beauty of northern Vietnam to discover. Looking forward to your views of Ninh Binh.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. Hue is the old capital of the country in the Nguyen dynasty. It’s almost 300 years old. If you go to Hanoi ( the present capital) which is 1000 years old. You will see all the small streets in Hanoi. The capital has expanded to a new modern area which has tall buildings and larger streets. However when you are in Hanoi . Visit the old ancient quarters . You will see the old buildings mixed French architecture and Asian architecture. BTw, Hanoi also has a French quarter where all the foreign embassies located. It’s the most charming part of the capital. I know you will continue to head to the north and stop by Hanoi. I just want to give you some information.

I just found ur channel a few days ago a me n my girl have watched ur Europe n Morocco playlist. I found it by looking for new Vietnam stuff to watch 😅. Me n my girl went to Vietnam in 2018 for a month and she loved it so much she wanted to live there (I had already previously been so I knew I'd love it). Anyways I got pulled over for no helmet and I couldn't pay my way out like in the past 😵‍💫 I was in phu quoc n got my bike towed n no license fines n all. So when I went back in 2020 I brought an international license n thought ya bosS right ... Wrong 🤣. I got pulled over in central Vietnam bout 300 km south of da Nang going back to da Nang n once again I could not pay my way out of it 🤯. The thing about the international license is they can't read it so it's useless. That time tho I kept saying nicely of course this is a license n eventually a captain came n talked to me n eventually took pitty on me n my girl n let us go 😘. Now for context I always had over ten million showing n more hidden so when I say I couldn't pay my way out I mean it lol n I'm Viet but we are very obviously foreigners. Ok so how did I correct this. I looked into it n realized you gotta get a license from Vietnam which if you have a motorcycle license in ur country is sooooooo ez to do omg. But ya if you look at it that way you will realize giving money to get off having ur bikes towed for no license (like in any other country) n fined up the ass is sooooo awesome n I think is a damn luxury lol. Imagine being able to pay ur way outta trouble anywhere 😂. But ya the process to get the license took like 3 days n was cheap. I remember it involved a notary n the license centre in Dalat

I was going to ask if the whole "Tia for scale" thing is planned or extemporaneous - but the one in this video kind of answers my question. Love the video - I just wish there was more of it... any plans to extend your videos? 20 minutes? 25 minutes maybe? 30 minutes (gasp)? Love your stuff & as always, keep up the great work!

🎶 Nice choice of music during Imperial City segment! It's otherworldly beautiful and haunting like a movie. Hue's cuisine is the best in the country with many delicate and unique dishes. @@jamesl9371 Nguyễn An (Chinese 阮安; 1381 - 1453), known in Chinese as Ruan An (pinyin)[1] or Juan An[2] (Wade-Giles), was a Ming dynasty architect and hydraulics specialist between the first and fifth decades of the 15th century. According to some sources, he was the principal architect in designing, planning and constructing of the Forbidden City during the Ming dynasty. Born in Vietnam, he was taken as tribute to China and later became a eunuch and architect in service to the Chinese emperors. He, along with other architects, such as master designers and planners Cai Xin (蔡信), Kuai Xiang (蒯祥), Chen Gui (陳珪), and Wu Zhong (吳中), was a builder[3] of the Forbidden City in Beijing.[4
Under the reign of the Zhengtong Emperor, Nguyen An also had a role in the reconstruction of the wall of Beijing.[2][5] He was also a hydraulics specialist, and was involved in at least three hydraulic projects and had a flawless record.[6] He died in 1453.[2]
