I was awkward with the kneaded eraser, didn't understand the hype, but once you understand how to use it, it's a gentler approach to erasing. Play around with it more, do dabbing, tapping moves, also you can use it like a rubber eraser, rubbing back and forth. It's good for watercolour paper.
I have nearly finished numbering my Polychromos pencils like this. It’s time consuming haha but I actually enjoyed it. I was finding it hard to remember the number and names of the pencils. This is so much easier. I put some transparent tape around the bottom to help keep the labels on. ❤
You'll love the masking fluid. It's so satisfying to apply and even more to peel off. BUT let it dry. Preferably several hours. And beware when you apply it on toothy paper, as it can rip it off. The fluid works better on smooth surfaces (J. Basford, Lulu Mayo...) Enjoy your haul! Have a nice week! P. S. You'll need silicone brushes to apply the fluid. Karen (my colourful contry life) has a tutorial on how to and the tools needed.
Thanks so much Kira. Always happy to see your video, can I check will you do a tutorial on how to do light to dark or dark to light layering . Thanks;)
What a fun coloring haul! Thank you for mentioning my tutorial in the Magical Woodlands book 😍🫶 I hope you'll be coloring that page soon! I'm very eager to see your take on the page 💖
Love this! I have only just started colouring last month and honestly had no idea that there are so many adults doing this! I felt so childish with my new hobby at first 😂 so am really glad to see that it’s not like that at all and that there are so many others out there 🥰 I prefer more „realistic” colouring books but I find those really hard to find! I am not a huge fan of the style of the books you showed, it’s a bit too „fantasy” style for me personally, however I am really impressed how beautifully you did colour those!! 😍 looks absolutely magical. ✨ I only use colouring pencils so far because I love the process of using them. I cannot wait to learn a little bit more about different ways to colour, I love gradients etc but am quite basic right now compared to your beautiful work! I am really inspired and hope to learn some techniques with pencils from you!
I’m so glad that you’re finding my videos helpful even though we have different colouring preferences! And I totally relate to the “childish” feeling, but it’s so nice to be apart of a community that sees the art and mindfulness of adult colouring 🥰💖
Kira try the Art Spirits for amazing iridescent metallic watercolors. Rebecca has a lovely spirit indeed. Love the excitement for your coloring journey. It is infectious. 👏
There are 4 book. She just came out with a brand new fourth. I have all but the new one which is on my list to buy. I love Uusikuu's witch books. She also has the Lonely pumpkin series also. Fantastic books.
You are so fortunate to have received the original Nina stajner colouring book - it is so adorable and must be lovely to be able to experiment with different mediums on the nicer paper! 🥰 lulu mayo is such an amazing artist it’s hard to resist getting all her books at once! But satisfying to see your collection build over time 😍 I’m positive that you will enjoy colouring her work more as you complete more pages! 💕💕
I know! I’m so lucky to get my hands on it 💕 And yes, Lulu Mayo is amazing! I love seeing your prompts each month, even if I don’t get around to colouring any of her pages 😅
i’ve just found your channel, and i’ve gained a new sub. also, i’ve been looking for colouring books that are like space/planet themed and skyline/architecture ones. do you have any suggestions? keep up the good work😊
Welcome to my channel! Maria Trolle’s Shooting Star book has a good selection of somewhat “space-themed” pages. In regards to an architecture book, I don’t own this one but I’ve seen it on Coloring with K’s TH-cam channel quite a book, here’s a link to her video if you want to check it out 💖 th-cam.com/video/pYJNAOVvugQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VhsDOT8kacaPS2s5
Thanks for the shout out :) Can report that watercolours work beautifully in that book! At the moment I've only based a couple of pages and not finished them. I just received my Worlds of Wonder and Rooms of Wonder, so excited to start those :) I am getting Johanna Basford's new release either for my upcoming birthday or Christmas. I've blown my budget a little recently too... I had a lot of supplies already, but have got myself a bunch of watercolour paints (a few handmade and some Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolour pans), a set of 24 Inktense pencils (prime sale), some gouache paints which I've always wanted to try, 24 soft pastels, more Neocolour 2s (will have about 15 all up when they come), a battery eraser, YouShares pencil case (game changer, has 6 small pencil sets in it), a Caran d'Ache palette and a few other little things. I still don't have a big set of pencils but that is a long term wish list item, maybe when I have gotten through some of the pencils from my current sets. The thing I don't have any form of currently is acrylic markers, when I've decided I hope to get a set of those... I do have plenty of acrylic paints which I can try and use in the meantime :) My very favourite things to colour are toadstools and dwellings of various kinds (boats, castles etc)... one day I would love to get some of R. J. Hampson's house books (I have heard the paper isn't too bad, but would prefer something thicker if I can get it one day... love using mixed media). At the moment my old printer doesn't work with my new laptop (drivers aren't available for windows 11) and I'm trying to decide if it is worth getting a new printer especially to print colouring pages on good paper, then I can support the artists I love by purchasing pages on Etsy if they only have books on thin paper. I have purchased some lovely buildings to colour from Gabi Wolf (GabisGrafiken on Etsy)... and hopefully Hanna Karlzon will have more buildings one day - she only has a few in her Etsy store at the moment (I am not a fan of people colouring, so none of the books really suit me, but I would love to get all of her building pages!).
Thank you so much again Rachel!! I can’t wait to use watercolours in the book 😍 And omg, it sounds like you have an amazing collection of colouring books and supplies on your hands! I’m also thinking about investing in a printer. I don’t own one and I’d love the option to print some digital pages on good quality paper!
I bought their water-based markers (Maui 160) - they don't bleed (tried on Amazon-cheapie type of paper + Basford book paper) and they're cheaper. They *seem* to blend quite well but haven't done a lot of blending as I've just received.
I still have magical woodlands on my amazon wishlist~ I have similar coloring strategy as you as I'm trying to get one book of each illustrator, that interests me. Well I do have 3 Johanna basford books and next month I think I will get the german edition of magical worlds xD As for now I'm waiting for my etsy order of some japanese coloring books^^ 1 from eriy and 1 colors make you happy volume. I'm still debating if I should get ohuhus 120 honululu set >.< I have their water-based markers, but I rarily use them, but everytime I see a colored page with alcohol markers I'm tempted to get the 120 set of the honululu markers....
@@apicturedpurpose thx :3 as for now I only have 2 minimania and 1 mythographic coloring book for 1 sided coloring books to use alcohol markers in them xD
Don't markers bleed through the pages? I want to fill coloring books with markers, but they ruin the illustration behind the paper... and there is no good one-sided coloring books to my knowledge... i would like one with Peanuts concept for example, rather than random illustrations.
I only use alcohol markers in single-sided books! Here are some of my favs: enchanted earth by melpomeni chatzipanagiotou, year of witches by uusikuuu and magical woodland by Kate Pellerin 😊💖
So sorry you feel that way! I use the microphone for tutorials to keep the audio consistent for voiceovers but I’ll see if I can find a way for it to be less distracting in the future ☺️

Thank you for the tips! I definitely want to experiment with it a bit more and see what effects I can create 💕✨
Just a tip .cover your number dots with some clear tape to keep them in place.
Yes! I’ve been doing that as the dots start to lift from the barrels ☺️
Nina Štajner is from my country; I'll try to write her name as in English: Nina Shtayner. I hope it helps.
That is SO helpful! Thank you very much 🙏🏻✨

Oh it is such a very laborious task! But very worth it in the end 🥰

I don’t have any plans at the moment, but I can definitely add it to my list of video ideas 🥰❤️
Awesome haul Kyra! Magical Woodland has been on my list for ages! I should finally add it to the collection!
It is such a beautiful book! I HIGHLY recommend 🥰💕
I wish artist can bring more adult coloring books back out in the store
Yes I agree!

I have had my eye on that spooky cat book for so long! If I don’t get it for my birthday today, I’m just going to buy it for myself. Hehe
That’s a great birthday treat! 🥰🎁
Interesting video.Question: do the uhuhu markers showing on the next page?.I am waiting for the next video with colored pages.
Yes, they do bleed through unfortunately. So I only use them in single-sided coloring books ☺️

What sketchbook do you use for your swatches?

So sorry you feel that way! I use the microphone for tutorials to keep the audio consistent for voiceovers but I’ll see if I can find a way for it to be less distracting in the future ☺️
Love your channel. Just one request...pleeeeze cut the background music. It is so distracting.
