A tip for your Derwent electric eraser…. Either put a new rubber in and use the older one under it to prevent it from pushing in or you can insert a tiny rolled up piece of paper under it and it will also prevent the rubber from pushing in when using. 😊
Hi! I just found your channel and I LOVE IT!!! I've been looking for a channel for someone who bases their pages with markers or watercolors for a while, AND you even add drawings to the coloring page too! The coloring gods answered my prayers lol looking forward to binge watching all your videos! Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into your channel!!
Something to think about, I have seen some colorists that buy two copies of books that are double-sided. They then color the left pages in one book and the right pages in the other book! 🤗 You have definitely influenced my Christmas haul, lol!! 🎄😂
I always buy 2 copies of my favorite artists books. Not only is it beneficial to me (in case I want to use a wet medium or totally ruin a page with my "talent" haha) but it also gives the artist an extra sale. Johanna, Hannah Karlzon, Kerry Rosanes and Rowon. Always double up!
So many new things to add to my wishlist! I need that Derwent electric eraser. I have had several recommendations for it! ♥️ I also don't own any acrylic markers so I got my eyes on those! Thanks for another awesome video Kyra!
Love this style of video. You turned me onto the [square] Brutfuners, and I use them more than my Prismacolours. Does anyone else do that ie keep a 'good' set for some obscure reason? I am keeping my eyes peeled for a repeat Amazon Prisma bargain like the one a few months back ie 132 Prismas for AUD123. My bum is bruised fr kicking myself...why didn't I buy another set when they were reduced again only a few weeks ago = then I could have TWO good sets not to use. Sigh! Best seasonal wishes everyone.
Hi lovely what a lovely video.. my Derwent eraser doesn’t go like yours with its eraser… the the Arrtx is on my wish list the 48 set I have that 60 pastel set got it on a lighting sale on amazon ages ago.. thank you for sharing ❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx
I'm to a point in my journey where I'm ready to start exploring the white pens for highlights. Unfortunately I have to drive about an hour to get to the store that has them in open stock. I really want to try the Poscas but my local craft stores only have sets of Poscas. Backgrounds still intimidate me but I think I'm going to try using the Distressed ink with a really cool stamp. I have a stamp that's just random bubbles. I don't think I have the nerve, yet, to try watercolors 😂 but I think my next big purchase will be some watercolor pencils. I think that might be the best way for me to dip my toes into watercolor without using real watercolors until I'm more confident. Something I've been thinking about is trying to put together a wee travel kit so I can take my art when I'm traveling. I also do a lot of crochet and it's easier to toss that in a bag and work in the car but sometimes I'm not in the mood to crochet and I'll be traveling to a place where I can be still long enough to get some coloring done but traveling with all my supplies would be challenging. I think Johanna Basford has a few mini books, smaller than Small Victories, but bringing only the basic primary pencils is where I will struggle. I'd love your advice on putting together a travel kit for our art. Maybe a new video idea 🤔❤
I’m so glad you’re getting into white pens! They really make your coloring pop. And a travel kit is a great idea. I’ll definitely add that to my content ideas list 🤩❤️✨
Thank you for sharing all these goodies... I have the Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils and The Ohulu Honolulu Alcohol Markers. They are my favorite. Question: With the Ohulu alcohol markers, do you prefer the brush with a chisel tip or the brush with the fine tip? And why? Happy Holidays
I haven’t encountered that issue yet fortunately! I have heard there are refills you can get from the Ohuhu website and I believe they ship to Australia. But I’m not completely sure…sorry I couldn’t be more help ❤️
For ohuhu, they wouldn't ship to me, so I went with a 168 set touchnew brush markers. From swatching mine and watching others ohuhu vids, I saw a lot of overlap in the shades and names. I used ohuhu swatches to color order my touchnews. Ergo, my crackpot theory is that ohuhu uses the same Chinese manufacturer, which explains the odd names (translation issues), but they do invest more for the thicker, sturdier barrels, the larger amount of ink (my touchnews are skinnier than ohuhu), the refill system etc. With Prismacolors, I just can't justify their cost in my area with their poor quality control. For me, a 150 set of prisma is sitting at £219 now. I could get a 150 set of derwent chromaflows for £99, I could get the polychromos full set that are actually lightfast for less than the prismas. All this to say, no prismas for me 😅
I totally understand how products can vary in price depending on your location! Everything feels a lot more expensive to get here in Australia 😅 But I’m so glad you’ve found some great alternatives! 😍✨
The tooli-art paint pens are cheaper in Canada so I do own many sets. They are decent bbuutttt they do clog quite easily and they are thick. They don't work well on thin lines
I just bought the Artisto watercolor pencils and i really like to use them dry. I think when i get better i will save up for the prismacolors. Great video.
Love this! I have a question, what set do you think has a lot of purples? I too wish there were more purple in the prisma set. What set of markers from ohihu do you suggest if you are tight on space? I’ve never used them!! This was another great video!! Merry early Christmas 🎅 💜🐰🩷🎄❄️⛄️
I personally love the purples in the Arrtx pencil set! In regards to ohuhu markers I’d recommend this set if you’re looking for a smaller set au.ohuhu.com/products/ohuhu-48-color-art-markers-set-chisel-brush-tip
I have Born watercolour pencils but I’m not a fan. I do really like Derwent Academy watercolour pencils as a cheap option. Colours are really vibrant and they don’t leave pencil marks once water is added. I think I paid $30 for a set of 24 from Officeworks.
Nice picks. You might keep an eye on availability for the Afmat brand of powered eraser. They're rechargeable, have two eraser sizes, and have a refill kit. If you have a cement floor, put a piece of duct tape around the middle of the eraser's body, like a belt. When it takes a severe drop, it might save the poor thing from blowing apart. Lesson painfully learned. Please, please don't get in the habit of calling everything "bad boys." It makes me cringe. A PTSD reaction due to reminders of a person I wish I'd never known. Colorfully Optimistic seems to be behind the epidemic of TH-camrs adopting the phrase.
I personally think the arrtx pencils are sort of a midway point between Brutfuners and prismacolors. Not super hard but also not super soft. Hope that helps! 🤗✨
Lovely video, as always ❤ would you recommend any specific pencil sharpener? I've been struggling to find a good one in the low prices and afraid of buying an expensive one and regret it, because there is an infinity of brands!!
Thank you ❤. It has a great price. I don't really have a budget, just don't want to buy another pencil sharpener to last me 1 month before it eats the wood of the pencil.
I am still on the hunt for a great sharpener as well. I’m hopefully getting the dahle 133 for Christmas. But if you’re looking for a more affordable option, I’ve heard some good reviews on the prismacolor sharpener. Hopefully that helps! 🤗💖✨
It's not very expensive, in my opinion, where i am from (Portugal). Found it on Amazon for between 13 and 18 euros, i saw some that cost 30!! Wich i would pay, but not to keep having the same problems! Thank you for you help ❤
Sarah Renae Clark recommends the Artistro white acrilic markers. They have two types of nibs and are quite affordable. Personally, I love/hate Posca markers. So, once it runs out, never again... Lovely video and lovely choices. Have a nice week. Cheers from Spain.
Yes I have seen her recommend those! I feel like they are a little bit expensive in Australia. But maybe I can keep an eye out for a sale 👀 Thanks so much for the tip 💕🌈✨

Such a great tip! Thank you for the suggestion 🙌🏻🥰✨
roll up some paper stick it in first and then stick your eraser stump back in so that when you push down it has some resistance.
That’s a great hack! I’ll definitely have to try it 😍🙌🏻✨
I agree about the prismas not having enough purples! The silver lining is that it challenged me to blend my own purples using red and blues.
That is so smart! I don’t know why I never thought of that 😅🤩
I love adding acrylic brush markers on top of my alcohol markers.
Acrylic markers just add the perfect details ✨🙌🏻
Fantastic job. Congrats!!!👌👏
Thank you so much for watching!

That is so amazing to hear! I’m so glad you found the channel, and I hope you enjoy all the videos! 🤩💖🌈
The thinnest white pen I have found is the uniball signo angelic white pen. It's one of my favorites
Thanks for the recommendation! I’m definitely have to try it out 🤩🙌🏻
Awesome video! Thank you!!! ❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
The Ohuhu fineliners are a game changer for me! I can even use them on watercolours that are still damp and they don’t run or smudge!
Omg that’s such a great way to use the fineliners! I’ll have to try that out someday 🤩💖
Something to think about, I have seen some colorists that buy two copies of books that are double-sided. They then color the left pages in one book and the right pages in the other book! 🤗 You have definitely influenced my Christmas haul, lol!! 🎄😂
Yes I’ve seen that as well! Definitely a great watch tip for those who work with alcohol markers exclusively ✨🌈🥰
@apicturedpurpose Truly!! 👍 But even if underlayering. 🤗
What is also lovely is that the Prismas can be purchased open stock at least in the US.
So true! That’s another big positive of the prismacolor pencils 🤩💖
Fantastic Video Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you too! 💖🎄✨
@@apicturedpurpose Your welcome and Thank you
I found I can put a knew eraser in, and then add the almost used one on top of the full eraser and it worked well
I’ve been thinking of trying that! I’m so glad to hear that it works 😍 Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻✨
So many new things to add to my wishlist!
I need that Derwent electric eraser. I have had several recommendations for it! ♥️

I'm so glad you found some new supplies to add to your wishlist! 💖
Do the ohuhu markers don't bleed through the paper?
Yes they do. So I only use them in single-sided coloring books 🥰
Beautiful video ❤❤
Thank you so much! 🥰
Try looking into the Artistro Extra Fine Acrylic Paint Pens (0.7 mm)
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll have to check them out. 🤩🙌🏻

I totally understand the “good set” mindset haha! Hopefully you’ll be able to score a sale again soon 🥰✨🌈
I’ve been here since the very beginning and watching your channel grow is an amazing thing to be able to witness 🤍
Naww thank you so much for supporting from the very start! It is so appreciated 💖

Happy Holidays
I personally prefer the fine tip option as it allows you to get into tiny spaces as well as add patterns more easily to my pages 🥰🌈💖
In Australia how do you go about replacing an ohuhu marker when it runs dry? Fellow Aussie here
I haven’t encountered that issue yet fortunately! I have heard there are refills you can get from the Ohuhu website and I believe they ship to Australia. But I’m not completely sure…sorry I couldn’t be more help ❤️

On my wish list. Lol artxx acrylic that is.
Yes! You’ll love them 💕🌈✨
I just bought the Artisto watercolor pencils and i really like to use them dry. I think when i get better i will save up for the prismacolors. Great video.
I'm so glad you're enjoying your new watercolor pencils! 🤩💖 Definitely recommend the prismacolors when the time is right for you! ✨
My Wishlist just grew a bit! 😂
Haha I accept the role of a coloring supply enabler 😅💖🌈

What is the coloring book with the cats and pumpkins?
Boules De Poils by Diane Dufour 😻

That’s totally fair! I find they work well for a light layer of basing on my coloring pages but wouldn’t recommend for actual watercolor effects 💖
Nice picks.

Would you say the Arrtx pencils are similar to prismas?
I've been using arrtx since they came out with 72 set to start with I must says yes very similar to prismacolor in my opinion
I personally think the arrtx pencils are sort of a midway point between Brutfuners and prismacolors. Not super hard but also not super soft. Hope that helps! 🤗✨
