@@ChloeRoseArt He is definitely someone who's work has seeped in to all aspects of life. I had the same realisation when I learned about him. Really interesting guy and very inspiring 😊
Every fountain pen collector's dream is to own a Mont Blanc.......the two fountain pens made the calendar WELL worth the price! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful calendar with us.
@@j.s.585yep. Not a pen expert just a stationary enthusiast and that last pen was indeed a classic roller ink pen. But there were two fountain pens though.
as a fountain pen person I can say that for me (and probably most of fountain pen people) we value our pens so much and even care how we store them to keep from scratching, so the pouch is not as absurd for us, if we drop a pen you can hear our heart breaking xD The combo of fountain pen and fountain pen ink with leuchtturm1917 notebook is perfect, cuz even tho the page is thin it doesn't bleed. this is a beautiful advent calendar, thank you for showing us ::D
Fellow fountain pen fan here. When I was at school - sometime in the early 16th century 😂 - we had to write all our work in blue or black fountain pen. Anything written in biro was promptly returned to be re-done. However, it has left me with a lifelong addiction to writing with a fountain pen, though I’m a rebel nowadays and prefer purple or green ink!
I agree, this was a great advent calendar. I was given a Mont Blanc fountain pen a few years ago and it is gorgeous! Chloe, I hope you are able to enjoy your new pens and ink… oh my! If you start looking at ink you will never stop wanting new ones! I have to force myself not to even look! 😂😂 Love your work!🤎💛🤎
I’m only part way thru the video so I have only seen one pen (I’m assuming there are more to come). Was anyone else disappointed in the first one for the price? I mean to have a see thru barrel it has to be plastic (or I guess glass which would be even more ridiculous) and for that price I want something a bit more substantial. I’m not a full on collector but I found a few that I really enjoy from Fountain Pen Revolution. I’m a fan of theirs because they actually make a super flex tip that you can do calligraphy with. Their flex tip of the best I have found and I bought several to test. I love my fountain pens but have only ever spent at most about $60 on one.
I dropped a lamy safari nib down and was bummed for the rest of the day. I’d bawl my eyes out if I did that with my gold nib Leonardo or Sailor! I don’t own a Montblanc yet, but I’m eying the Jane Austen pen 🤩
I'm not a luxury pen person either but I can't deny that calendar is really worth the money to people who are. Nice to see one that isn't ripping people off!
Great value that it seems to be, I would not call it an art box, it's fine stationary. I actually worked in a fine stationary store many years ago, so don't find the list prices for the items surprising. Best fountain pen I ever used was a vintage one with a tungsten nib.
Keith Haring was an iconic artist here in NYC during the 80's at the height of the HIV/Aids epidemic and brought a lot of attention to it through his art. I went to high school in NYC during that time and his art was everywhere! Died way too young :(
Not just in NYC- I remember him growing up in Texas in the 80s. Iowa City currently has a small exhibit of his work because apparently he had a relationship with an elementary school here and did a mural for them just to be nice!
Re: fountain pens Mont Blanc - it's not a flower, it's a snowy mountain peak. Ink converters can be loaded while screwed into the pen which helps with initial flow (only causes problems if you're swapping ink colours, though some still consider that a feature not a bug). The acrylic Iguana pen would have been made by turning a blank on a lathe, same as a wooden pen. The first pen looks like a cheap demonstrator (means you can see the ink from the outside), but most of the cost is in the nib for pens like that (notice how the listing focused on the metals). The first ink is a shimmer ink, not sheen (that's something different), and it would be a little visible with standard medium size nib pens. Looks great with thicker calligraphy pens. The Faber Castelle ink you're used to is probably art ink, not fountain pen ink and CANNOT be used in a fountain pen as the pigment particles can clog up the works.
To add to this: Chloe said she used Winsor and Newton inks, which are art inks (they contain shellac to improve the consistency, and THAT's what would ruin a fountain pen). Faber Castell makes both art inks and fountain pen inks.
@@Welcometothesunnyside1989 fountain pen nerds - we know stuff. (Mostly you just pick it up from other people once you've decided you're interested - the fountain pen community is pretty welcoming, and are glad to talk the ears off new people, no matter what price point they're involved at. [Most people's first fountain pen doesn't cost 500$+])
Girl!!! I’m not even 4 min in and I’m already laughing! I’m a fountain pen collector and your confusion and shock is hilarious! That’s a FANTASTIC pen and has many selling points to the cost, but you don’t know till you’re into them!
@@arcanaj Yes, the J Herbin shimmer ink should not be left in the pen if you're not using it regularly. It will gum up the works and could ruin the pen.
@@marileemck With the added material to make that shimmer, I'm not at all surprised. I haven't done extensive testing by any means, but so far, the most forgiving, leave-it-in-the-pen ink I've found is Atramentis's Archive Ink. It's a nice solid black and is water resistant, which is all I need.
*THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST ADVENT CALENDAR I'VE SEEN!* You can always do a competition and gift the pens as there's clearly a huge number of people, including myself, who greatly appreciate these types of pens. Cult Pens really did sooo well with this advent calendar. I saw one which was cheaper and the stuff you get, although still good, is nothing compared to this one. Sooo many great gifts in this advent calendar! I hope they do it again although I doubt it 😂
If you want to start your ink collection journey, Diamine has an Inkvent calendar with a small ink bottle each day for 25 days. There's usually a lot of shimmer and sheen inks inside, can recommend if you enjoyed your ink bottles :)
This is one of my favorite comments section I’ve ever read through. So much new knowledge in a hobby I never really took interest in before. But I sure have developed an appreciation for it after seeing so much passion for it now!❤
If you're NOT a fountain pen person, you'd see this as overpriced stationary . The same way if you're not a watercolor person, you'd think sable brushes are overpriced brushes... . 😂 It's only when you do something often enough will you notice the nuances, the engineering, the ease of use of your tools
Collecting fountain pens is a whole, usually expensive world! Jetpens has fabulous guides, lists, and price ranges of ink pens! Highly recommend Pilot’s Kakuno pens. Under $15 and are soooo cute and write amazing! Also the “flux capacitors” are used to suck up whatever ink you want, like a syringe! Many ink pens also have single use ink cartridges you can use! 😊
The beauty of fountain pens is that there are so many different inks in so many different colors. You're not just tied to the normal blue-black red. There are shimmering inks, there are shining inks. And depending on how broad the nib is, you will see some of those properties.
The beauty of those refillable cartridges is that they save a lot of the environment. When you use that type of fountain pen that has the cartridges, you either have to refill them or buy single use ones. And since one cartridge doesn't hold much of the ink, you are buying them constantly. So when you can refill them, you also can do it at home. I have just cheap fountain pens currently, but I was dropping my jaw when I went to look actual shop that had the high price fountain pens. The most expensive ones cost thousands, so the $500 pen is not even from the most expensive and when you see the ones with the top price it ends up looking even cheap lol. And when you are leftie you have to search a little bit where the right angle is for you with using them. When it is wrong, it feels like it is scratching the paper. So there is small learning curve with those pens. Also fun fact, there is nibs that are done for us lefties. I have not bought one yet since I have been able to work my way with the right-handed nibs, but my goal is to get one of those at some point just to see if it feels any different. And yeah... that is the first advent calendar ever that doesn't rip off people, but instead it delivers big time. First time also when I see an advent calendar that I would buy for sure if I would have funds to do so. That was amazing.
In this episode, Chloe discovers the 100+ industry of luxurious artisan pens. Lol They are very much a traditional classy gift for a man, or a businesswoman. This advent calendar proves there's a calendar for everyone in the world! The only thing I don't love is the huge gap - surely there was a better way to lay that out! Or at least make it not a cavern, or hold a spoiler brochure, or SOMEthing... ...And the fact that the biggest present was the first and not the last, but, I understand, the 12-step ones are actually not Advent, but Christmas calendars, so the first window is the Christmas Day gift and the rest of them is the luxurious "extra" gifts for the following days - so it makes sense, I just don't prefer it lol
12 day calendars run in reverse order. So 12 days until christmas, 11 days until christmas excetra so number 1 would be the final gift on christmas eve. Unlike advent calendars where the number corresponds to the date i.e 1st of December, number 1; second of December, number 2 . So the 'best' gift was on the final day.
@sarahstokes6659 that's also a way to do it, I suppose. But I'm pretty sure those are for 12 days of Christmas, otherwise the number would be arbitrary. But either way it makes sense!
@@sarahstokes6659 I always wondered why some were 12 days and some were 24 days. If I recall, the biggest item from their calendar last year was on Day 12? Not Day 1? So I'm not sure what goes into their numbering system. The fountain pens this year are far better than last year's.
This is how you gain attention and business in a positive way as a company. I would actually invest my money into this company with purchases due to the honesty and respect they have for your money. As you said, advent calendars are often rip offs and when they are, I steer clear of those companies. But ones that give you quality products and give you your moneys worth or more, deserve every penny.
As a fountain pen enthusiast this was a fun video to watch. I’ve been using fountain pens since Primary School and collecting for many years now. It was extremely interesting watching someone with an outside perspective take a peak into the fountain pen world. Enjoy your new pens.
As a pen enthusiast, I love this calendar because it's so amazing to see things I'll never own but want. As a poor person, my fanciest pen is an old Parker pen from my grandmother's house before she passed.
Fountain pens are often used for calligraphy, and there's a huge learning curve on fountain pens, you have to learn to appreciate them. They are not for the average pen user.
i will say though, as a pen enjoyer, i still find much joy in writing normal things in the fanciest pens both bc i can romanticize something so casual And because it’s far from the usual purpose of said fancy pen
I use fountain pens every day for normal writing - they’re not just for calligraphy, and you shouldn’t press on a nib to try to make it work for calligraphy. They aren’t all made to flex!
@@elaineharley5501 Same. I'm in Germany. We weren't even allowed to use ballpoint pens only fountain pens. Even today kids learn how to use fountain pens and use them at school. We have several companies that have whole lines of fountain pens aimed at children and teenagers.
When I saw the name Cult Pens my heart sank for a moment because I love their site and was worried it would turn out to be awful. I'm happy it didn't turn out to be a rip-off but now am just intensely coveting everything in the box!
It's not my type of advent calendar but it's seriously one of the best I've seen. You definitely get your money's worth. If you don't use the pens, you have some really nice gifts.
Cult pens always does a fantastic job with their calendars (my particular favorite is the Japanese stationery). I really hope you got the Diamine Inkvent calendar 😍 ink is such a beautiful (and expensive) medium but so worth it ❤
Ooof that intro hot hard because I feel same way about teaching. Can you imagine if they made a Teacher focused Advent Calendar. Not toward the class: the Teacher
What should be in it, high percentage spirits in unobtrusive packaging? :D Jokes aside, as a non-teacher I can only think of (nice) stationery and now I want to know what you would want? You've triggered my curiosity lol
@ no. I was going to buy one a month ago from the company. They had the list of contents & I studied it well. Value of box was about £150. Selling for £90. Those items shown are not the true original contents.
People should consider gifting someone with a fountain pen in the same way they do giving someone a pet. They should only be given to people who would really love them and give them the loving care and maintenance they need to survive.
I have gifted ONE pen to someone: a young coworker who was the only one in her groups of friends that could read cursive writing. I gave her a Platinum Preppy ($7.00 CDN) and she is still treasuring it a year later.
As one taught to write “properly” in England in the late 50s and early sixties, your bemusement about the barrels of the fountain pens had me roaring with laughter. I was taught italics using Osmiroid fountain pens that had rubber barrels that that had to frequently filled with ink (Quink Ink). So much more environmentally friendly than the pens that use pre-filled plastic barrels. You seem to have some bargains there. Please fill them and do use them and enjoy them.
As someone taught to write with fountain pen in state school (year 4) in the late 90s, I too was quite amused (and frankly bemused) by her confusion... I'm fairly sure the only people who didn't learn how to use fountain pen were the people who never got that far in handwriting class (we progressed pencil-biro-fountain), which I'd be surprised by as she's an artist.
My algorithm randomly gave me this video after I watched my first two beauty advent calendars of the year. I think you are delightful! Thank you for a little bit of joy this evening. There are several ASMR glass pen and ink art videos that I watch to try to fall asleep and the way she layers the ink colors blows my non-artist mind. If you’re looking for a way to use inks in art, maybe give those a try?
Many of these pens are for calligraphy, nothing else usually. When using one, they are designed to be used with their caps screwed on at the other end of the pen. This way the pen is balanced for smooth letter formation and fluid strokes. One does not “fill up” the chamber, instead you dip the nib, NOT NIP, into the lovely bottle of ink, then you gently blot the tip of your nib on separate paper and proceed to write. After much practice, on SMOOTH paper, until you are adept at calligraphy, you will find for yourself how much ink you pick up on your nib. I have taken various calligraphy classes at my local college and professional art supply store. Absolutely thrilling to me. All of the pens you opened were nice in their own way.
I was googling specifically for art advent calendars yesterday. I couldn’t find anything but fancy wooden reusable ones that you have to stock yourself. That defeats the purpose of the experience, it’s supposed to be a surprise. 3:45 $50
That's a beautiful Advent calendar! When I was a teen, my Mum got me a Schaeffer fountain and ballpoint pens set one Christmas with my name engraved on them and it was one of the loveliest gifts I got. Maybe that's part of the reason I started getting a Calligraphy Box subscription, I dunno. That's one that would be a good one to look at maybe as a future episode, because you get a different nib and coloured ink each month. I've been buying it for just over a year now and I've got a bit of a collection now, plus, writing people's cards and gift tags in calligraphy is fun too and shows that you care that little bit more, I think.
Everybody has things to cherish. And if you buy it, the only waste is not using it. I have watercolor brushes that cost me over $100 each. Just because you don't enjoy the same, or appreciate the same just means you don't understand the reasoning behind the craftsmanship that could be the reason for the expense. For example, if you worked with pencils, and loved one brand and used that pencil enough to have it be quite short, you would know that the metal piece for that very nice cedar pencil is called a pencil extender. That way you can continue to use the pencil to almost the very end. They make them for pastels too. Fountain pens that use the ink extruder thingy are so you can use different inks. Making some of these pens is an art form in itself.
It's amazing that the individual items are worth more than double the calendar price. As you said, usually you get less than what you paid for. No wonder they were sold out! Still for a niche audience but those people will get (double) their money worth!
as soon as I saw cult pens I knew you would love it. my pen friend is a fountain pen enthusiast. I met up with her and her pen club and we went to a the local pen shop. my friend brought her mont blanc fountain pen that's worth over £1000. she got me into the joy of fountain pens. not the pricy ones as all my pennies go into my art supplies. I have a few Lamy pens, they are my favourite
The way I would do ANYTHING to get this calendar😭😭😭😭 I love pens and I’ve been trying to find a fountain pen in my budget. Which is like 5$😂😂 I want alllll of these pens. Yes I am a weirdo who is obsessed with pens! Loved watching Chloe 💖💖
I’m not into stationary whatsoever but I can still imagine that some materials are worth a lot. So it was kinda hard to watch you annihilating everything… 😅🤣 and Keith Haring is such a legend, look up his work, you’ll probably recognize it.
I don’t think I was annihilating everything at all, I was expressing shock at the price of a pen! I would do with art supplies if I learned a watercolor palette cost $500 too. I wasn’t being rude or nasty about the cost, I was literally just shocked at this new world id just been introduced to lol
As a Left handed person, I am so glad you did this video. I always thought that fountain pens were backward for me. ( I learned the make Left handed nibs!) fascinating. Since we push as we write, instead of pulling.
That was definitely a luxury stationary calendar - nothing to do with art or crafts! And it was enjoyable to watch - honestly, I could look at nice stationary all day.... I have inherited all my granddad's stationary - including fountain pens, mechanical pencils, and so much more - from the 1940s and 50s. They are a joy to use and beautifully made. Good quality stationary is designed to last. They are extra special to me because they have a story to them. I'm so glad that this calendar was worth the money! I love Cult Pens' webstore - I've bought from them before - and thoroughly recommend them. 🤩
i love how you can tell Chloe was ready to tear into this box for being a rip-off and then was genuinely astounded when it was absolutely amazing. as was i!
Thank you for sharing this Advent Calendar with us. As a fountain pen, paper and ink enthusiast I have enjoyed your great reactions. I hope you enjoy using or gifting the items in the calendar!

I think it's amazing value for what you get. Finally an advent calendar that is money worth and if you gave this to the right person, they would love it more than what it costed you
Gurl, take care of your throat, ok? Also, it's so sweet to give away Amazon gift cards to people right before the season ^_^ LOVE advent calendars and am SO excited for this series!!
I’m a teacher and I had a beautiful fountain pen that my husband gave me when I became team leader. I loved it. He made me a leather case and I attached it to my lanyard. He paid about $200 and it was worth every penny. You wrote a good bit by hand when I was teaching (retired pre Covid) between grading and paperwork. A student stole it the year before I left and I was crushed when we couldn’t find the culprit. I hope she enjoyed it at least. A really good fountain pen is a good thing for people who write and artists who ink. Loved the calendar! 😊
Fountain pens are find with shimmer if it’s made for a fountain pen it also make have a specific sheen too. Just use the right paper. Also a wooden cutlery holder flipped on its side is perfect for holding inks. I have so many like that and it’s so beautiful and whimsical
Dont forget, *Do Not Loan out Your Fountain Pens*. The nib molds to your writing and borrowers will not hold or write with your pen the same way you do. Protect that nib babes!
All of the pens are refillable. The price is for the body. You should be able to look up what ink cartridges are compatible with each pen body. You could also easily see the sheen in fountain pen inks with a broad nib pen.
As a fountain pen girlie it was killing me how you have these products and are just like 'oh neat, how does this work!' hahah You should totally join us in the fountain pen world! It's a bit fussy but honestly I love it. Being able to choose your ink and pen to pair together, and the process of the pen itself can be so lovely. Plus then for your new ink collection you'd have a day to day reason to use them and fountain pens can be lovely to sketch with, too. Also for the ink with the sheen, inks like that often need paper that works well with fountain pen inks to show their special properties. It can't be too absorbent, basically, because the special effect needs to be able to sit on top.
If you like inks you should try the Diamine Inkvent Callander. You get 24 bottles of 12ml bottles of exclusive inks and 30ml bottle. You get a great variety of colours in a bunch of different bottles. If there are any you really like they then release the in funky 70ml glass bottles. Diamine has a great reputation for being affordable and good quality inks. Also I hate to break it to you but there are plenty of fountain pens that costs 1000’s. Personally I’ve never had the desire to own one that expensive. My most expensive pen is £200 but it’s hand painted and only 50 were produced.
Cult Pens are epic. Never been quick enough to get an advent calendar alas, but I did get a LE mystery box once that was so much fun and great value for money. Also had a fancy pen in it. If you don't think you will use the premium pens, sell them on or gift them to a pen lover. That Mont Blanc is a total grail pen for many!
I love fountain pens, but as a left-handed person they're difficult to use. They're meant to be pulled across the page, not pushed, and the ink takes a second to dry so it smears while writing. Heart-breaking, though, because I really do love them.
My husband is a left-handed under-writer and has no problem with fountain pens and ink. You can have nibs adjusted to write on the push, it's just that isn't a typical grind that many brands use.
We used to have to use fountain pens at high school in the 90s. My best friend struggled until her Geography teacher recommended a left handed fountain pen! They do exist, somewhere...
@@racheldlfc Most fountain pen nibs handle being pushed fine, the left-handed nib thing just polishes the nib in the spot he's likely to use, so it can feel a little bit smoother (in theory). Left-handed nib use affects stuff like, italic nibs, which are ground on a diagonal, and flex nibs, though underwriting helps a lot with it. They aren't the typical nib on a fountain pen.
I'm left handed, I have always written with the page landscape to my body, then you're pulling it towards yourself. It also means you're not leaning on the ink. Never had a problem with fountain pens!
@@natasamoise The reason someone or a company doesn’t do international is because it’s expensive, the process is ridiculous, and/or there isn’t an option for international at all. They would have to convert the currency too. It’s not as easy sometimes to do things internationally. Even transferring money via PayPal can be a pain. So you’re just gonna have to deal with it sometimes. I Sorry 🥺 A lot of the time it’s not because they are forgetting about yall, it’s that they can’t or can’t afford to do things internationally because, again, it’s usually a big process or not offered at all. In the case of Amazon gift cards it’s not offered at all. The process isn’t supported. She would have to do visa gift cards instead and even that can be a pain.
LOOOVE seeing Keith Haring being promoted and celebrated- as someone who lives near Kutztown which is where he grew up, we actually JUST got a historical plaque in his honor!!! He's an amazing artist and I love seeing PA represent even if he emerged mostly from the NYC art scene
Awesome content!!!! ❤️🤯 As for how they pen with the resin was made, they place the blue resin into a mold and then the green resin into the same mold, swirl it together, until they’ve reached their desired color variation, wait between 2-5 hours, hollow out the center on a wood turning lathe, and fit the components together with some CA glue!
Actually pen blanks are poured in a huge block and cut into individual pen sized blanks after curing. The blank is cut into at least 3 pieces and lathed ouside and inside then threaded. It is laborious and precarious, the acrylic can only be cut so thin or it cracks.
The dissrespect for fountain pens is heartbreaking lol. They're amazing, and the ink would look way better from one, a good fountain pen creates areas where the ink pools and thins creating a lot of variation in color and sparkle (like watercolor) and makes it properly shine, but you can't just go using a fountain pen like a ball point, if it's straight up and down it's not using it's full potential. this calendar has everything I love,
If I had the money I would kill to be able to get such an A.C. the pens are stunning! The ink is Lovely! I'd love to have ANY of those item's in my studio! Not that I think it will ever happen. You are a very very VERY lucky woman! Congratulations on your Advent Calendar Purchase.
I quite enjoyed this. I would have never thought two pens could cost close to $1,000 dollars. I for one really like the inks that came in this calendar, the little jars are so pretty.
As soon as I saw the platinum pen, I thought I need this advent calendar. In a way I am glad it’s sold out because I can’t afford it but would have ended up buying it if it was still in stock.
My dad makes pens on a lathe (mostly wood, sometimes resin), and also collects fancy pens. I'm sure he's never spent $540 on one, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's spent $60 on one really nice one. I believe the draw of fountain pens is that after a while of using it, the nib will wear a bit, adapting to the way the individual holds and uses the pen. And the process of filling the reservoir is a fun little ritual. I've tried it briefly, and it certainly feels fancy, especially for calligraphy. Anyway, interesting to see this box and your reactions =)
I would ABSOLUTELY KILL for that stuff. That stuff is stuff I'd only ever dream of owning as an illustrator/writer because they're out of my price range. They're absolutely beautiful professional quality stuff!
I’m not a pen collector but I love how good this calendar is. Every single product is such good quality. But - how do you not know Keith Haring? His art is iconic.
Cult Pen Advent Calendar are always good value. I have had the Stationary one and the Japanese one... both had contents which to buy were more then the Calendar... Loved this one, but not sure I could justify £600... even if the contents are worth double. The shimmer ink, give it a good shake before filling the pen and you should get shimmery writing.
The world of fountain pens is a fun, but potentially extremely expensive, one. It's really strange to outsiders, but once you write regularly with them, you'll start getting it. I write almost everything with pen and paper before I type it, so the experience of writing itself is important to me. Fountain pens elevate that experience to something actively enjoyable as opposed to something that I just have to do to get things done.
As a fountain pen lover and collector... this advent calendar is amazing! I knew as soon as it was a Cult Pen's calender, that it would be reasonable value for money. And yes $500 is just the tip of the iceberg for fountain pens lol. That can go into the $1000s for exclusive and rare materials.
I'm getting into fountain pens lately, the feel of the nib on paper is definitely an acquired taste. Those two pens in this advent calendar make it such a steal.
This is such a beautiful calendar! Thank you for getting it and opening it for us to see! I echo what another commenter said -- you should look at doing a giveaway with the pens you won't use.
I grew up using a fountain pen in school until ball point pens became available in the late 60’s. I remember my mom screaming every time the ink leaked out all over my uniform! I love writing with pen and ink now and have a few really nice pens in my collection. Pens like Mont Blanc though are unbelievably expensive and only executives can afford them. I really enjoyed this video from Orange County, New York!

How do you not know (the designs of) Keith Haring… This is really surprising to me. Also in the Grabbie video, where you don’t get why they include yellow, red and blue as the colours. I get you don’t have an official art degree or something like that, but when you’ve been in the art scene for so long, I don’t really understand it. Enjoy these wonderful products!

Actually an advent calendar worth the money spent on it!!! In fact double the money spent on it! Now I know why they're SOLD OUT!!!!
it looks like they have an ink based advent calendar, still available it looks very pretty...
As a pen person, this had me drooling. Also to all the wonderful pen people in the comments, may your ink flow smoothly. 🎉🎉🎉
Agreed! Also had to chuckle at the shock of the prices of the pens. I have discovered $7000 pens so far. So out of my price range, but I get why.
*stationEry
It never claimed to be an art box. It clearly says on the side that its stationary 2:09 .

Re: fountain pens
Mont Blanc - it's not a flower, it's a snowy mountain peak.
@@Zoeswildart my bad, didn't care to rewind to where she said which ink she'd used.

Chloe, if you store those fountain pens with ink in them, remember to store them with the nib pointing up.
I learned the hard way
😐
@@tophers3756 Same. And not all inks are forgiving enough to be left in a pen, no matter how you store it. 😑
*THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST ADVENT CALENDAR I'VE SEEN!*
You can always do a competition and gift the pens as there's clearly a huge number of people, including myself, who greatly appreciate these types of pens.
4:13 sweet summer child you’ve got a big storm coming 😂😂😂 I saw that pen and thought, “oh yup. You’re making back that value you spent real quick.”
This is one of my favorite comments section I’ve ever read through. So much new knowledge in a hobby I never really took interest in before. But I sure have developed an appreciation for it after seeing so much passion for it now!❤
Fountain pens are lovely! The people are wonderful too 😊
I now want an expensive pen 😂😂😂 I am such a lemming
If you're NOT a fountain pen person, you'd see this as overpriced stationary
.
Also I will now only use the term “flux capacitor.”
Lol
They are very much a traditional classy gift for a man, or a businesswoman.
Cult Pens is a great company. I live in the US and have had nothing but positive experiences with them.
As a poor person, my fanciest pen is an old Parker pen from my grandmother's house before she passed.
that sounds like a really beautiful pen :)
Not necessarily. We started using them in primary school in the UK in the 60s. I was eight when I got my first fountain pen.
"The average pen user" is such a funny phrase
I use fountain pens every day for normal writing - they’re not just for calligraphy, and you shouldn’t press on a nib to try to make it work for calligraphy. They aren’t all made to flex!
@@elaineharley5501 Same. I'm in Germany. We weren't even allowed to use ballpoint pens only fountain pens. Even today kids learn how to use fountain pens and use them at school. We have several companies that have whole lines of fountain pens aimed at children and teenagers.

I would have loved this box. I am sincerely jealous.
I’ve never seen an advent calendar that was worth More than what you paid. So gorgeous too.
I absolutely think it was worth it. I love fountain pens. I love drawing with them
It's amazing that the individual items are worth more than double the calendar price. As you said, usually you get less than what you paid for. No wonder they were sold out! Still for a niche audience but those people will get (double) their money worth!

Dont forget,
*Do Not Loan out Your Fountain Pens*.
As a fountain pen girlie it was killing me how you have these products and are just like 'oh neat, how does this work!' hahah
You should totally join us in the fountain pen world!

So you’re just gonna have to deal with it sometimes.

13:48 "A SOCK"
I love your snowman nails Chloe and your cute earrings. You should definitely try out more advent calendars that have different themes.
Yeah when you said cult pens I knew it would be some expensive stuff. Honestly this box seems right up my ally. I love fountain pens.
I'm getting into fountain pens lately, the feel of the nib on paper is definitely an acquired taste. Those two pens in this advent calendar make it such a steal.
Also Pelikan is a german fountain pen and ink manufacturer, very famous. Edelstein means Jewel in German
This is such a beautiful calendar! Thank you for getting it and opening it for us to see! I echo what another commenter said -- you should look at doing a giveaway with the pens you won't use.
This is so insanely expensive! I love your advent calendar openings - especially ones I could never afford 😂
you know the Christmas season has started when Chloe posts an advent calendar unboxing 🤭
So excited to see more advent boxes!! And seriously some gorgeous stuff in this box.
Those inks are stunniiiiing
not gonna lie, this is the most valuable calendar Ive seen this year, I personally own many duplicates such as sailor and fancy pens, but I still feel the exciting watching you open lol
omg i have all these brands, harris tweed is a British tweed fabric brand, they made bags and little bears, sometimes small pencil bags, I have book covers as well
I worked with a lot of insurance executives, and they all had to have Montblanc pens. They had to outdo each other!
For gorgeous inks see Ferris Wheel Press.
So nice.....an advent calendar that is not a rip off!
That’s just crazy! Best thing to me was the pretty blue ink.
