@@pineapplelollipop1074fr, it's why I absolutely hate the saying "Abs are made in the kitchen" because you could make that argument about every muscle group. You could be 20% body fat and have more prominent abs than someone who's 12% because of muscle mass

@@bazzagazza5019 also, the reason because plank is so good id because it doesn't build muscle much. you will not get too bulky and ruin the v-taper. main function of the core is to stabilise your body
If you get too advanced in planks and they don’t offer you anymore challenge, try increasing the lever by extending your arms away from your body. Depending on how far you extend they get a lot more difficult quick
As a kid I always enjoyed doing abs, I did it so much that no amount of working out made me feel anything, and it still stays the same, just to test it I just did a 5 minute plank and I felt nothing in my abs but my arms got numb so I had to stop. if there are any kids reading this, remember your muscles build much faster when you’re younger, start working out NOW if you want any muscles
Additionally do these weighted so you can progressively overload like any muscle. Personally I wouldn't do much targeted oblique look bc they make you look wider instead of getting a V-Taper look.
TH-cam algorithm goes crazy, I’ve been calling myself out for only doing arms and legs telling myself, I’ll do core once I can do pull-ups and pushups and stuff, gonna try these next time ❤️ ty bro

If you when you'd want something a bit more intense, Sprinting is de wey. These exercises are best for weight loss.
Crunches 1 min, bicycles 1 min, single leg reaches 1 min, arm crunches 1 min, russian twists 1 min, toe touches 1 min, 6 inch hold 1 min, and reverse crunches for 1 minute. 2 sets of that and at the end of the second do reverse crunches either till fail or for 5-10 minutes. You'll learn to hate it and then learn to love it all over again once you see the results
Floor work for abs is a good place to start. Especially if you're starting out overweight. Yes, you will target the core and you can get stronger over time but that will quickly plateau and you'll be spinning your wheels and basically doing cardio. If you're beyond the absolute beginner stage then you're going to want to use something you can progressively overload like the weighted ab crunch or the hanging leg raise. There's a 3rd option but it's extremely difficult called the candle stick. There is a road to progression with this too but the weight cable ab crunch and the hanging leg raise is probably the goto.
@Tvpco. and core strength helps with many other exercises that do tone you very well. Plus the more muscles you develop the more calories you burn simply by existing. Bigger muscles use more energy
No ear boggling music or anything, straight to the point with good presentation, nice. How's weighted Kayaking exercise for obliques? I do Russian twists along with it
I might just as amateur point out, start with lying exercises, don t go in heavy when u start abs workouts, keep your back, especially pelvis always on the ground tight, meaning dont create an arch, it helps to create a proper posture in other exercises as well, its also really important to keep abs tight during the whole motion
One of the best static core excercises is a V hold or a hollow body hold. Trust me, you'll feel that shit, and not only in your abs but also in your hip flexors and quads.
No joke for the first time in my life I see my abs 😮 when i looked in the mirror they were visible which i was never able to see before because i had a layer of fat covering them. I still need about 1 more month and they wll be popping out like crazy 😊 im so excited, it took months but its worth the wait.
Instead of ab circuits, start doing heavy-compound lifts and also start treating your abs like muscles, start adding weight to ab circuits you are doing 👍
Calorie maintenance with high protein intake is generally enough, just add a bit of cardio and secondly just train your abs like any other muscle with progressive overload, because it is just like any other muscle. They will get bigger which will help show, even if you have some fat over them.
It's so funny that Russian twist is an actual workout that actually does something to the body as it looks like a silly shake shake dancey-dance hahaha
I wouldn't hit obliques directly for a v-taper. Overdeveloped obliques can give you a more wide look you will hit them enough doing other exercises so you don't have to isolate them unless they are very behind
Dude this is the exact a circuit I’ve been doing for years. For explosive sports set a timer and do as many as you can in 30 seconds (without injuring yourself from an intense twist of course).
Okay guys JUST LETTING EVERYONE KNOW! If you’re lean and don’t have much abs, BULK! Don’t be worried and eat in a surplus. You need those muscles to build up and cutting down further won’t help. Just a heads up 👍
Also don't get too caught up in reps and numbers and counting. That's all good when you want to ensure balance, swapping arms or legs etc. But rather in the words of Mike Mentzer, workout till you break. Only once you break will your body rebuild itself stronger.
You can also do non static versions of the plank, like doing it on one arm and switching (try to move the rest of your body as little as possible) or having a friend pull on you when you do the plank.
Planks are goated I've been training 5 min every day for 2 weeks and i got two abbs but then i got depressed and ate like a beast fuck how i hate myself
