Music:
Mina is one very lucky girl to have you and NeeNee as her dad and mum
Yup. And and the other way to :-)
Well Todd, I don't know why or how, but when Mina was making her wish on the Birthday Cake at her Birthday party, I had tears rolling down my cheeks. She is always so grateful to you both for everything that you do. Added to that, she has such a sense of humour. I loved the way she wagged her finger at you for telling her that the Tooth Fairy doesn't work on Labour Day! What a character. That pool was a great present especially as the temp has been so high. Here in Khon Kaen it had been 42 degrees and higher for more than 3 weeks but cooled down to 39 over the last couple of days. Like you we have also had "brown outs" when the power gets reduced to a silly level and "power cuts" too for a few hours at a time. We have been going down into the city on several occasions to one of the shopping malls to make use of their air conditioning rather than ours. How cheeky was that, someone stealing your A/C compressor Unit! We have had to buy a complete new air conditioning unit as the one in our living room packed up 4 years ago and we have only just been able to replace it now! What a difference 🙂. So happy that you are getting Troopy all fixed and kitted out ready for your next adventure. Great to see that old Morris Minor at the garage. My second car was a 1954 Morris Minor in 1967 and I had 2 more after that. They were so reliable and had a 948cc engine that you could actually work on, plus the fact that each body panel was bolted on and easy to repair. Seeing that, even without its emblem on the bonnet took me right back to the 60's when men were men and women wore suspenders! 🤣😂🤣😂 Happy and fun days!. Thanks so much for sharing the family's life with us, it is so uplifting. May God continue to bless you richly and keep you safe as we approach the rainy season. 😀❤🙏
Just watching earlier videos of Mina does the same to mate. I feel so lucky to have this opportunity to be helping such a bright little girl ❤️
Happy Birthday Mina 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈
God Bless Todd Nee Nee and Mina
You guys are the best mama & Papa amazing ❤🎉
Todd, sorry to hear AC lost. The thieves are professional. VA (Department of Veteran Affair) paid for my Air Conditioner Service Technician. Meaning I can work on AC in home or commercial. I hope Laos' Police can track down those thieves. Good luck. Maybe you should build special protective cage for your AC unit outside the house.
Happy (belated) Birthday to Mina. and it's time to shine for the elusive Tooth Fairy
Much appreciated Nate.. thanks 👍
LOL, I had to remark on Black Betty (which I happened to listen to a couple of months ago). You are truly an old rocker Todd!!
🍰🎂 Happy Birthday Mina 🎈🎈 ..... Not a Hummer Not a Jeep
Happy and blessed birthday to Mina, and blessings.
You know Todd, It's just one of those days sometimes, that perfect storm, where bad things happen . You have a great sense of humor , it helps you cope with it all. Want to wish
your darling Mina a big Happy Birthday !! 🎂🎂🎂🎂 Enjoy that pool. A great place to cool off.🏊🏊 Jim and Harriet
Sorry to hear about your Aircon being pinched. In South Africa, my mother has had the brass water pipes cut and stolen from the outside wall of the house. Three times. Now she uses plastic pipes that are more prone to mold. Sad state of affairs, but life must go on. That high steel fence is a good idea, just for peace of mind for the family. Auto motion lights aren't that expensive, but you need power to run them, or a battery back up in your situation. Best of luck.
Use solar - easy
Get your mom out of there and move her to SW Florida. 👍🏻
Happy Birthday Mina,No matter how bad my day is puts a smile on my face seeing Mina so happy. You have such a beautiful home, its so beautiful but its a true home with that family.Bless you all mate.🎉🎉🎉
Be careful, those temperatures are dangerously high. I live in SW Florida. I’ve been here 12 years and the hottest it’s been was 98* F, maybe 99*. I don’t know how you do it. 🥵
GET CCTV CAMERAS WHIT MOTION SENSORS 💯👍
Dang, Todd, 388 dollars? That's 3,800 in the states. Happy 7th birthday to Mina!
CCTV for your home.
Hey Todd love your vlogs been following you since 2018. I rarely comment because I usually watch on the TV. We celebrate Labour Day first Monday in October (NSW, ACT, SA) and Queensland celebrate it on the first Monday of May 👍
Thanks.. I had a feeling it was celebrated at different times. Thank you for commenting 😉👍
I feel your pain brother….the heat is on!
What a joy to watch. Happy Birthday precious Mina. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. Best wishes Todd and Neenee.
Thank Vinnie 🙂
Happy Birthday to Mina! I love her confidence. Her swimming skills are getting better and better. A pool is such an awesome present!
I'm wondering if you can go solar and then not have to worry about the supply from the grid? Also can you build a cage around the A/C compressor and lock the cage?
In the USA Labor Day is the first Monday in September but in Europe its the 1st of May....crazy that it's so different. Here Labor Day marks the traditional end of summer when school restarts...but now most schools restart in August.
I hope the rains come soon and the country cools down. The news is full of the heat wave hitting SEA and the records that are being broken. Gives a new meaning to "stay cool Dude!" LOL
Mina cheered me up again. Too hot there for me now. But hope to return later. Thanks.
Now that's refreshing!! Neenee needs an ortho boot for her foot. It'll help reduce weight and pressure on the injured foot/ankle when she's on her feet.
Happy B-day Mina! Nice that Neenee has recovered from her foot injury. Sorry for the mishap of the stolen A/C unit. Wishing you cooler weather; enjoying the episodes.
I can't read lao either but the Google translate picture app works wonders😊
Birthday dinner was priceless.
Always good postings mate. Thanks for the entertainment.
Cheers mate, thanks 👍
Amazing living todd , one day I hope to retire in Lao myself
I gotta say 42* is way too hot for me mate. I’m glad you got the pool. Good luck brother. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mina!!!🎉❤ 🎉
Stinkin bloody hot mate! 😕
Cheers 👍
Another great video. You should check your skin for skin cancers. If you haven’t done it recently please do. An experienced dr will be able to give you a good examination. Take care
Thanks Tod, cheers.
And Me !! 🤣 classic .. you certainly got the pool at the right time 👌
Glad you got some relief from the heat.
Nice family 👌👌👌
Happy birthday
Happy birthday 🎂 Mina your life is blessed with awesome amazing parents who’s loving you !
💚
Happy birthday Mina 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 is 🎉🎉🎉🎉💯👍🙏🌹💟
Love the pool! And love all the potted plants, must know where to some when I arrive.
Good morning laos .
Happy birth day!
Questions how or what tools do you recommend keeping mosquitoes/ others pests away from home inside and outside ? Thanks mate
Happy Birthday, Mina! 🎂
Hi tod wow that's pretty hot 108 degree happy birthday to mina And that pool looks awesome cheap to.
Get a home generator place i close to the new AC unit and fence it in
Nice to hear and see Neenee's foot doing better. Happy Birthday Princess. 🎂So they ripped off your Air Con compressor and in Rome they ripped my wallet off. You build a metal fence and I'll carry my wallet differently. Stat well my friend,
Where gonna have to mate 👍
Get some cameras!
Sorry about your ac with a new pool you will be gaining many friends. Happy Birthday Mina🎂
My Dad had a Morris Minor back in the 60's neat little car.
Good info on your power upgrade situation. We’ll soon be getting quotes on bringing 3-phase out to our farm…also thinking about investigating solar as an alternative. Fans are just not enough in 40C+ heat, and even worse when no power!
Thanks for sharing. Stay cool!
Hi Todd. I had the same problem with the power. I got PEA to connect me to a different phase. That fixed it, for now at least.
Thanks!
So generous Frank, thank you. Hope you're well mate 🙏
@@NowinLao that can be used for another prezzie. For Mena, it takes so much to raise them. Cheers 🍻 ❤️🎉🎊🍻
Come to Wellington if you want a storm!!!
🤗🙏🏼!
Happy birthday Mina🎂,such a lucky girl. That’s a bummer 😢about your AC, sorry.
Take care, stay cool, if that’s possible 🥵
Hi Todd suggest you get a generator for the hot ones. I had one at my place and put a strip out so the neighbors could charge there phones. Kept me in cudo's from that day on. Also a cage aroung the back air con so it will never leave again plus the fence. I had a big dog he worked very well was a Rottweiler great around kids. Friends an family he loved but strangers beware lol. Great to see the family being a family soo cool. And squirts english is better with every video love you guys god bless all your family peace out brother.
Cage is a good idea 👍 Thanks mate
I heard there is quite the heat wave in SE Asia , stay safe.
It's better this week. Before a storm a few days ago we had about 12 days straight of temps over 40c 😕
2 things to think about Todd, Solar and new Inverter A / Con.
Here in Cha Am we run 2 Samsung 18000 BTU a/c's 24 hours a day
After 9 years both still going strong, we get them cleaned twice a year.
Solar Panels are next as power cuts are the pits.
Good luck and thanks for a great show
Aww sorry about your AC got stolen.
Hello Todd. This is not the first time I've sent a message over the last 2 years. I lived in Nong Khai just at thei Laos border crossing. We.often wanted to visit your place but my ten yo girl was attending school in Nong Khai ans a daily visit for us was $35 USb each
The reason for the local power bill increased to Baht 3500/month and the persistent 40+ daily Temps was crippling
We've moved south to Songkhla we're max Temps are about 34C But we still enjoy your videos.. beautiful coastal town and beaches
I'm now just a few weeks to my 84th birthday and.ive lived in SEA for since 1978. 5 kids 4 grown up and my 10yo
Gratefully.my.big toe slipped one night and hence my.last girl appeared 9 months later
Hahaha you need to start wearing socks Seht 😉 Glad you've found a more hospital climate. Take care mate 🙏
April is our family birthday month. Daughter in law 21st, Granddaughter turned 21 on 27th which is also our wedding anniversary, our sons birthday 29th . Happy birthday Mina . That pool looks great and zi am sure will get lots of use 😀.
Popular date the 27th.. my mum and pops birthday 👍
Loving the pool in this weather 😁
Thanks Joanne 💚
We were in town about a week before this and I agree it was stinking hot! The day we left to go for a week on the beach in Thailand, it was 43 degrees with a “feels like” temp of 51! That was at the Thanaleng shuttle train station and sitting there for 3.5 hours was the worst time of our whole trip. The beach time was awesome after that!
We’ve got a small version of that pool at home and it’s great to take a dip in. I put one of the floating chlorine tablet holders in it and the water stays nice and clean, unless we go on a long trip to Asia and it rains like crazy in California while we’re gone!
Worst train station, and train for sweating like a pig!
@@dowtingtomas.695 even a few Beerlao didn’t do much to diminish it!
@@spongesurf12 😂 na , just become a sweaty drunkard . Half the fun though mate.
@@dowtingtomas.695 I’ve tried to do that but I just can’t consume enough Beerlao to compensate!
This month is indeed hot
That was pretty low mate - them taking your compressor unit. You might need to have a metal cage made up, as a deterrence to thieves (to house the new compressor securely).
Lol.. new level of lie John. Yeah.. thinking a cage is a good idea 👌
At least it was raining in the evening.
Todd , I’m sure PLOD , will leave no stone unturned. ?
👍
here in melbourne it costs about 650.00 oz to install an air con unit.the pool you might be able to get chlorine tablets and a floating container for it so you dont have to empty the pool as often.i am sure there is a pool shop there somewhere to ask.did mina flip the bird a couple times ?????🤣🤣🤣
Is that 650 Fluid Oz's? 🍻 😂
😆
How did Mina learn english so quick? School or in home?
Thank you for 117 Subscribers ❤❤🎉...Stay Connected
I've watched your channel for some time, but decided to subscribe as soon as I saw her "Oregon Ducks" t-shirt. Although I'm an "OSU Beaver" I support fans of all types. Keep it up, mate! --rook
Haha Legend! Thank you 💪
Love the new swimming pool and the new Hard Rock T-shirts. Sorry about someone stealing your compressor. It's not just the money it's the inconvenience. Might be time to bolt and lock it in. Hope you get the electricity line sorted. USA 388 what a bargain!
Thanks mate 🙏
👍🙂
Hi Guys. Yes she is a hot one for sure. We are a tad cooler out in the stickes but still over 40 for many days. How bad was the storm last Friday night. In the village it took out 2 main line concrete posts. What was amaing was how quick they put up 2 new posts, and re strung the wiries, with the last of them finishing at 8pm in the pitch black with just head torches for light. The farm realy copped it with a number of large trees down and a bit of roof damage. We still sleep with just fans which I must admit is not a lot of fun.
Steve?
@@NowinLao Chris
@@Lifeintheslowlane-wg3jd Ahhhh.. ok. Cheers mate
It might be worth setting up a CCTV system.
G'day. What about having solar and battery powered.
😂I am filthy“ says Todd as he is still giggling !
It was funny. Not something you expect to go missing 😆
@@NowinLao yeah man that’s true! I imagine in oz though , the reaction would be so much more „extremely pissed off „ if you know what I mean? Laos brings out the „oh well „ in a person.
@@NowinLao haven’t watched the video in full yet , I leave a few go so that I can watch them all in a row , like a good movie . Will be doing a motorbike ride through there in august , my boss (the wife of course) wants to see you lot. Probably will end up stalking your village on the way through .
@@dowtingtomas.695 hahaha ok, give us a heads up.. so we can hide 😜

@@NowinLao too late , we know that you have a hole in the wall.
Well Todd looks like you are going to need a gas powered generator to run your cooling equipment during blackouts.
First Monday in May Oz Labour Day mate 2nd Sunday Mothers Day .. cheers Bushyboy Oz.
Did you get the Troopy paperwork put in your name?
Say Happy Birthday to Mina for me Todd, she's keeping you young mate😅.
Sorry to hear you fell victim to some thieving Bar Steward, a neighbour of mine had her car broken into a few days ago, all that was stolen was her phone charger. it cost more than 20 times the price of the charger to get a new window fitted. Bring Back Flogging 👿.
Good to hear you're finally getting the Troopy paperwork in order.
The power outages are a pain and, it sounds like you're also getting voltage fluctuation which can damage eletrical appliances or things like the AC compressors. Might be worth enquiring about some sort of surge protection.
Thanks Phil 👍
Sorry about 'borrowing' the Aircon unit but I was baking I'll bring it back when its cooled down a lot! 😅
I know some fellas out past you and they don't use them.. wondering if this heat has changed their mind now. 🤔
Bloody unbearable mate 😐
No security cameras Todd?
I think that you and Neenee could do a video about Lao names. Long last names that are not used and few people know. Nicknames that they give kids that are not very complementary. Nicknames that are shortened versions of the given name like Neenee. I think that your Lao nickname would be - Odd.😀
It was probably the guy who installed the pool. It is pretty common for stufff to get stolen a few days/weeks latter after a tech or service person comes to a house to fix or install something. They see it and make a note to come back and steal it and they do!!!!!
Nah.. wasn't him
We are leaving Sydney and heading back to our Nongkhai home next week. Staying 6 months. I know it’s going to be hot and I would love to get a pool like yours. Tod can you tell me how much it was. Cheers Steve and Apple
Hi mate.. Neenee found it advertised on FB at a local store here for 2.3M kip. That's about $160au 👍
Good morning Todd from Malaysia..your Troppe..it's a manual transmission shifter is it..??
Yes it is a manual Vernon 👌
Why l asked is because..l can see you drive a manual vehicle very very well..unlike alot of drivers this days..l myself a Malaysian..very much old school when it comes to driving and my motorcar..its a manual and can't get even my kids to drive it properly evendor l thought them to drive with a manual..all because this days there are nothing but automatic transmission..to me younger generation..don't appreciate it..thank you Todd for your reply..
Can you tell me where you got that pool from? I would like to buy one for my family in paksan
FB ad from a local store.. about $110US
All the heat so many days over forty two degrees , you are having overload .
Every body is using the air con ,also , that's why your air con got stolen .
Even happens in my expensive suburb in Australia , the supply goes down because all the aircons are running in the street around the clock .
The electricity people are called out to restore power .
Oh 😂❤😢😅 dear vip Nee nee todd family..sorry to hear Jealousy/ poor neighbour. People who needs help/beg/ steal..your air conditioner? Ka more God blessing .sir. keep up excellent hobby duty. Family. ❤ joy 😊 😅😊$ yum 😊 😋
12:40 she is on to you mate, better watch out...
I was in Nong Khai during that hot 🥵 stretch. Hottest I’ve felt in Thailand.
Solar, mate. Solar. and a couple of dogs.
Have you looked into solar?
Way too expensive for initial outlay here, compared to how cheap electricity is in Laos... Plus, not real reliable in the rainy season
Just checked the prices.. Laos has the 19th cheapest electricity in the world at 2.9c/kWh. Australians are charged between 17c - 30c /kWh.
We're all good now anyways.. it was just those couple of bullshit high temperatures. You'll probably hear me complaining about it again this time next year 😝
(Those prices are in US cents)
@@NowinLao Wow! 2.9¢ is about 13 times less than Orange County, California at ≈ 37¢. I have two personal friends that did 10kw and 12 kw, no storage/battery, parallel grid tied, systems for about $30k each. Sadly both still have monthly electric bills and rates continue to increase! let's hope your rates stay put, our power used to be pretty cheap until the late 80's. Then our California single party, super majority government's "Green" policies that drove out industry are actually polluting more because we must import so much of our power from states that use petroleum for generation. You're also right in that most solar panels loose efficiency at higher temps, I would have thought Lao would be a great place for solar, but it does get pretty hot! right?
cheers Todd!
ron:)
Stealing the A/C unit that's a new 1 for me as well Todd. I've heard of the expression of "If it's not bolted down they will steal it." Looks like the thieves in Laos don't even care about that?
blame china mate!!
You need a wall eyed Blue Cattle Dog, the druggy will still be up a tree when you gst home.
😂
Shit happens and looks like your dealing with it pretty good,
I never really considered Laos as a retirement area for expats. I've been looking primarily at Philippines or Indonesia. My son wants me to retire in Bali as his fiancé is from Indonesia and her family live in Jakarta. They spend one month in the winter and one month in the summer with her family, The other 10 months of the year in southern California. Just wondering will the Lao government let expats live there fulltime if they aren't married to a Lao women?
Sure! Many do, on a B2 visa. Multi-entry for 12 months. Renew each year. Cost around $500-600/year
Ah the cheeky bastards, unreal, they will pinch anything, even the bloody guard rail on the road, so different to Thailand.
..and the electric cable outa the expressway tunnel! 😆
Todd , , All your power problems will be solved , when you go Renewable,
Like OZ , ?????????????? NOT
A troopy in laos would be pretty rare right?
