    Thank you so much for this video! I installed a backup camera to the reverse light *mostly* by myself this afternoon. My husband helped when I needed another hand, but your video gave me the confidence to dive in. In hopes it helps someone else: to get the wires through the accordion tube (the hardest part in the video), we used a plastic ziptie (just the flat part, not the square locking part) to fish the wires instead of using a hanger. We didn't need soapy water and completed that step easily.

    Thank you so much for this video! Followed it step by step along with the double din install and it’s all running smoothly!

    Thanks! Only issue is I have had these sort of multiple ones being taken away, way easy to unscrew and snatch away.

    Thanks so much for the great and detailed information. I thought that when you say that fishing the wires on the back was the hardest part, it was you exaggerating, but you were not wrong 😢

    Look, this video is great, and came at a perfect time for me. Just wish steps weren’t skipped in the footage. Trying to route the wire through the paneling now and I’m having to guess where the clips are and what needs to be removed

    Great informative video. Just changed the rear camera with second hand one in under an hour. Saved ££££ on garage costs.

    Hello! Am I seeing this correctly? You need to connect the trigger wire to the power (using reverse light like you) AND connect the other end trigger wire to the purple wire off the radio? Do we have to have both ends connected?

    I got the situation that I had to replace just the camera and now it’s not working because maybe I got to reset the screen. Have you posted something about it?

    Thanks for your video. I followed it but my camera doesn’t seem to work. I did not pull a power wire all the way to the radio as my system says it’s integrated into the video wire. There is a red tail wire at the end of the yellow video cord that connects to a wire on the radio. How should I troubleshoot this to figure out what’s wrong?

    How bad would it by to cut a slit in that rubber accordion tube and pass the video cable, positive power, and negative through it? I'm about to give up trying to get it through the accordion tube. I don't care how it looks at this point, I'm just worried about the wires having exposure to moisture/air.

    I have the same camera same radio same car I tried installing this camera but never got it to work. I connected to the rear back up lights. RCA connected. Red wire next to the RCA in the back of radio I tried connecting it to accessory+ did not work then I tried connecting to back up lights+ as trigger like you said not working. What am I doing wrong? There is a camera + wire should I use that? Im starting to think I have a defective unit

    what type of wire did you use to extend the power for the short power power cable?

    • @slappomatthew
      @slappomatthew ปีที่แล้ว +1

      any roughly 18-14 gauge stranded wire should be fine. its nice to use red and black to keep the power and ground straight but color really doesn't matter as long as you dont forget.

    Question not for this video, but was doing first car big 3 install and was wondering if the ground for the engine could be on any of the existing bolts

    Thank you for your video. I follower your guide lines step by step to install an aftermarket backup camera with a build-for-2011 Honda CRV android head unit. I was so happy I had a backup camera to my old car now. But the next day, when I was trying to reset the android unit, the camera screen went black in reverse gear. Would you please advice? Thank you kindly. Happy New Year!

    Great video! How about the security pin code when you change the battery? Can you change it via the new stereo?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The security pin is only for the OEM radio, becomes irrelevant when replacing with a new radio. The pin is included with the factory radio in the user manual. If missing, call the dealer.

    Why didn't you paint the bare metal left after drilling the pass thru hole? That spot will be prone to rust.

    • @alekseyshurtygin2042
      @alekseyshurtygin2042 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am about to start the same project. Was wondering if its ok to leave the hole as is without applying anything to prevent rust. Is there anything specific that I should be using?

    • @unclefreddy2009
      @unclefreddy2009 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure it would matter much but you could apply some primer there if you want. He puts a rubber grommet over the drilled hole which will protect it.

    Hi. What gauge is the red and black wire?

  • @servingourlord
    @servingourlord ปีที่แล้ว

    Doesn't make sense, looks like you joined both pig tails to the power but if you did that you can't run the video to the front. Also at the front you mentioned a red wire a thick one and that wasn't showen in your beginning parts.

    • @KentQuickstad
      @KentQuickstad ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm slightly confused by your question. On my camera, at the head unit (front) I connect the red wire to +12V ignition wire of head unit, and connect another wire (pink) to the head unit's reverse trigger wire. Then I connect the yellow RCA into the head unit camera in.
      At the back of the car, I connect the positive pigtail wire (it's red for me) to the reverse light positive, and the other pigtail wire (black for me) to the reverse light ground wire.
      I didn't join the red power + reverse trigger into a pigtail like he did for this video. Instead, I'm grabbing the trigger from the reverse light wire, and grabbing power from the ignition + off the head unit. Hope that helps.

    Do I need to connect a little red wire at yellow plug at camera to the red positive wire that connects to reverse light ? Do you think because I didn't connect it that cause a short circuit in my case?
    Thanks for your time

  • @phimonline3215

    Sorry to ask a question
    I followed your video to connect android unit for my 2009 honda crv . It worked great but only one part was hooked up the power and ground to reverse light as you showed in this video but whenever I start the car and put into reverse the fuse number 10 with 7.5 amp under dash will be burned out right away and all my dash light off, no power windows either and car can't start , shift gear stucked in park until I replace new fuse again. I have to remove those two wires I tapping into reverse light and everything will work fine again. Any idea that cause this problem. One more thing my tailgate light has some kind of pulse brake device tapping ino it. The 7.5 amp fuse that burned out is meter fuse.
    Thanks
