  • Parts used listed in the description below!
    Watch a full tutorial as a 2008 Honda CRV will have a new Dual Apple CarPlay / Android Auto bluetooth double din radio installed. This install applies to models with or without steering wheel controls and the factory amplified sound system.
    This video applies to Honda CRV models for years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. This video also includes radio removal, wiring, installation, and testing.
    Note - If you end up using the Crux SWRHN-62B, it does replace the need for other install parts, but it remains untested if it can work with the factory amplified sound system on this specific CRV. All connections should be the same, however, you will still need to manually wire in the amplifier remote trigger wire as the Crux adapter will not provide it.

      I’m sorry, I only focused on the dash disassembly. I had a different new stereo so I didn’t focus on the rest. But I did have to purchase the stereo’s bezel dash plastics to replace the original. I bought 3 harnesses: connector to the car’s harness, connector to the stereo and a connector for the antenna. I still need to install the backup camera, which looks to be more effort than the stereo’s installation.

    Hey great video, had some of the best insight to how to connect a the stereo, made me really want to tackle this on my 2009 ex model. Even bought myself a solder kit to achieve my hopes of this car mod. But since I’m new to this, I’m trying my hardest to understand how you wired the rca cable connection to the aux inputs left, right and ground. Just for clarification, did you solder the left rca to the left aux, then solder the rca right to the right aux input, and then did the rca you have in the video have a 3rd ground cable that you soldered to the ground from the factory harness. Or did you solder all 3 cables from the factory harness to the rca cable because that’s what it looked like and sounded like you said in the video. Please reply back I’m just guy with a crv that’s trying to prove that anyone can work on there car if they just try hard enough and do the right research. Thank you 🙏.

    • @builder1113
      @builder1113 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I suspect you've already done your install Billy, but I'll leave this comment for others.
      The standard radio and cd player put in this generation of Honda CR-Vs was able to interface with iPhones, but only up to about iOS version 3 or 4 I think. Behind the lower mounting bar for the radio, there is a conversion unit. One plug is the white one which connects to the radio, the other goes to the USB plug in the compartment above the glove box. This unit allows the radio to control apple music for these earlier versions of iPhones.
      You can buy an adapter to fit it, but what I did was remove the module from the dash, remove the USB female plug for my new radio and remove the adapter plug to the converter. I verified the wires (my colors were: Red - 5V+, Black - Ground, Brown - Data+, Purple - Data-; If unsure you should pinout the wires). Then I soldered them together and shrink wrapped the individual strands and the whole bundle.
      I have a 12V air compressor, so replacing the power plug down there didn't make sense to me. The power factor is leagues for a standard 12V outlet is just leagues above. (USB max - 2.5 watts, Outlet - 12V * 10 amps = 120 watts)

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Today, if your software is updated on your pioneer, you may not need to connect your VSS pink wire. VSS helps with location and speed accuracy with your navigation. If not, i'd look up forums where to identify your CRV's VSS wire location.
