    I have used this riceberry cream from litttllextra for a while now, throughout both summer and winter, and I really like it. I use it occasionally now for the radiant glow it gives my skin, but it really saved me, especially during the winter months.
    My skin tends to be extremely dry during winter, and nothing, no matter how enriching, could help with the dryness. However, this moisturizer has a rich, creamy texture and gives a soft glow to the face while keeping it moisturized.
    There were times when it was so cold for me to leave the bed and actually do a multi-step skincare routine, and this moisturizer came to the rescue. I’d definitely choose this in the cold season. It’s great for summers too, as it doesn’t feel heavy or feel heavy on my face. So glad I discovered this moisturizer.

I finally got the courage to increase the bees wax from 1/2oz to .7oz and .8oz. I also started adding vitamin E oil as well, about 1t. I highly recommend making this cream!! I’d strongly suggest using a preservative when adding any kind of water, aloe, hydrosols to oils because of bacteria and mold growth. Wear gloves and sterilize jars and any tools you’re going to be using. If you refrigerate it will last a day or two at most without preservative.

    Essential oils are EXTREMELY concentrated and dangerous to use in excess. It's too much volatile oils for your organs to filter. You only need 1 or 2 drops per batch such as this. Microdosing with plants is best since you reap the benefits without the negative side effects or traits.

    I have a question don’t you need an emulsifier when you mixed oils and water. Very informative video, thanks for sharing.

    • @sylmarie6494
      @sylmarie6494 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ordinarily, yes you do; however, for this specific recipe, the beeswax behaves like an emulsifier due to the intense blending of the oils and water. As the author states, this particular recipe does not require one, based on her experience. Vitamins C & E, sandalwood, or resins such as frankincense ARE NOT preservatives. I don’t know why this myth is being disseminated as fact. They are antioxidants or have properties that behave as antioxidants and there’s a huge difference!!! If you’re going to make it to give as a gift or to sell it, I would highly recommend using a preservative such as Germall Plus or Oxiphen. Both of these are broad spectrum preservatives that inhibit microbial overgrowth. They will ensure that your product will not grow life-altering microbes, but will guarantee your products remain shelf stable.

I have never had any spoilage problems, even though I dip my fingers into the jar! This is an amazing recipe, just add waters very slowly to the cool oils. It makes a big batch too!

      @@artymiss3707 Do you have any idea how many months it's lasting? I've made multiple batches of this over the last year and I'm hearing back from friends that it's getting moldy after a 2-3 months.

      I've been making this for a while. It makes about 4-5 cups. I normally give away about about half to friends who love it (about 3 jars). I use a generous amount all over my body & a little on my face. I do not keep it in the fridge and have not had any go bad. I would guess the longest I've had some on a shelf is 6 months when I had made a double batch. It did not smell rancid, which surprised me to be honest. also it had not gone bad in any way. Then add in another month it took me to use it up. In the summer, I have it get melty, but it hasn't completely made melted.

    • @cedarrockcabin3633
      @cedarrockcabin3633 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@consciouslypure2176 I need to update and correct my response. I made a double batch last time and kept half of it and stored in a dark closet in the bathroom. I already had a jar I was using from my last batch which I was using. They were brand new jars & lids & I washed in hot soapy water. Allowed them to air dry a few days. Used the same oils and butters I always use. It's summer & our house warmed enough to melt the one I was using. One day I thought it smelled differently but not a rancid smell. The next thing I knew the rubber gasket of the lid was turning black (this was the jar of the previous batch and was in a recycled jar). I took out the ones in the last batch in the new jars, they had not melted or separated but were very soft the both were turning black in the center of the cream, but the kids were fine. I will never keep so many on hand unrefrigerated again.

      Vitamin E is an antioxidant NOT a preservative. Rosemary EO is also not a preservative. Vitamin E will extend the shelf life of your carrier oils but that’s it... This NEEDS a preservative to last on the “shelf”. Yes it will last longer refrigerated but will still go bad. Just because u don’t see mold or bacteria doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Please research more... don’t just take their word or mine. You’ll see what I’m saying is right.

    I believe that the oil was 2 cups instead of one cup, that is why the product in the blender showed 4 cups. They doubled the recipe.

      Rosemary says several times that it is one cup each oils and water. It emulsifies and whips to double in volume.

      Arlene, I have watched this video 4 times and that is clearly a quart mason jar (with oil only) that is half full which means it is 2 cups so either my recipe is really going to be off because I am using one cup of oil and I am going to add one cup of water because if she didn't double it then I'm going to be way off. I was hoping she did actually double the recipe which would mean all this work I'm doing wont be wasted!

      She mentions in the video if it separates you can wait until it is separated and then pour off the water part. Put the oil part back in a blender and redo by pouring in the water mixture again. She promises it will not separate the second time. I want to remember this in case I ever need it.

    I DID THIS EXPERIMENT -I GOT THE WATER AND THE BEESWAX AND THE OIL -
    AND NOW I HAVE A HUGE MESS !!!!!
    THE OIL DID NOT BOND WITH THE WATER !
    THE MESS IS SO HUGE ,BECAUSE I TRIED TO BLEND THE 2 INGREDIENTS TOGETHER ,FIRST WITH MY HAND BLENDER AND NEXT WITH MY BLENDER -
    AND THE MESS CAME WITH THE CLEAN UP! BECAUSE YOU CANT JUST THROW THIS DOWN THE DRAIN!
    I HAD TO WASH EVERYTHING AT LEAST 4 TIMES TO GET THE OIL RESIDUE OFF OF EVERYTHING -
    WHAT A FUCKING NIGHTMARE !
    THANKS ROSEMARY GLADSTONE !!!!!!!!!!

    When you use water and oil..you definitely need to use broad spectrum preservative like optiphen plus and yes it would spoil without it in a week or less guaranteed. Vitamin E is not a preservative but an antioxidant. Please do not spread wrong information to average consumers you’re exposing people to violent skin infections by advising people to use something that is very bad for their skin like molded cream.. What old information as well..
    The cream would separate without proper emulsifier..

      Yes exactly! People think that you have to see bacteria and mould. You don’t see them! It’s there, after few days without using preservative.

    • @artymiss3707
      @artymiss3707 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have been making and using this cream for years. I've never had any problem with it going bad or moldy. Maybe you should try it and see for yourself. It seems to defy the 'logic' of going rancid as it lasts me for months even when I dip my fingers into the container which sits at room temp. I use distilled water and/or lavender hydrosol. It is my daily facial moisturizer. I use it in conjunction with her recipes for mineral scrub and Queen of Hungary Water toner.
      Rosemary has been around for a looooong time and speaks and shares from that experience. But try it for yourself 😁
