    It gets sad when it gets to the point where family members are suing each other especially parent and child

    • @JasonGafar
      @JasonGafar ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Couldn't agree more however some family members just don't have any value for the members of their family, resulting in pursuing a lawsuit over something so trivial, and other times things get out of control and a family member just takes advantage of the kindness of another family member resulting in the last straw (a law suit).

Its so that people that have some ability to work can get off the disability register and leave it for those who are not able to work at all.

      It's because the u.s. government is very conservative and doesn't want to help people financially unless they feel they ABSOLUTELY have to. They are more concerned over paying someone "too much" than paying them an amount they cannot live on. Disabled people also cannot marry each other because the law assumes if a disabled person marries, it's to a person able to totally provide for them and they will both lose their benefits.

      You can actually get more benefits and tax exemptions per child so while its good short term, once those kids move out you gotta get another job.

  • @joella64
    @joella64 2 ปีที่แล้ว +121

    Judge Judy, why don't you ever ask how a person becomes disabled? I worked at an understaffed hospital and a patient was beginning to fall. I rushed to try to keep him from falling and breaking his hip. He fell on me and not the floor. Several surgeries later, 7 to be exact, I am unable to perform mundane duties and in pain 24/7. Don't you feel that the hospital that was understaffed should be paying my income? Instead, you think everyone is cheating the system. Sometimes you are correct but it is sad that an educated woman like stereotypes everyone. Some days, I wish I would have let the patient fall. At least, his family could have sued on his behalf.

    • @joella64
      @joella64 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @LIVING as MYAANN Since I do not work in personnel nor had knowledge of the ratio of patient to nurses on his particular floor, the answer to your incorrectly worded question/sentence would be a resounding NO! It should say, Did you know it was understaffed?". If it was properly staffed, there would have been a CNA, Patient Care Tech, and possibly a nurse walking with this 83 year old man. Now, as for the comment on Judge Judy. The CEO of most companies including hospitals make millions per year, get stock options, and free cars. With that type of money, they could take say 5 million dollars and continue to pay employees hurt in their facilities. No, they don't. Judge Judy goes after every person who states they are on disability as if they are moochers. She acts like everyone is out to beat the system. Some of us got beat by the system.

    • @dadilala
      @dadilala ปีที่แล้ว

      I think in these circumstances (because they would have all had to submit their case before they appeared on Judge Judy, and JJ would have read it beforehand), while some families do place their children in a better school district for educational purposes, it seemed less believable for this mother, because she sent this daughter off to foster care because she was "too difficult". If she was a responsible mother, the answer isn't to send a child (who was 8 or 10 at the time) into foster care, even if she was struggling to look after her child, most children suffer significant mental health issues in foster care, you don't just give up your child and place them in these circumstances. So for her to claim that she was looking out for the other child's "educational purpose" seems unlikely, when she was willing to place her 8 or 10 year old daughter in foster care.
