This case was so similar to what I am going through right now. I lived in an old tri-plex for 16 1/2 years , 14 of those were great. I had no problem until my landlord had a stroke and his son took over. He wanted the old tenants to move out so that he could raise the rent. During the pandemic! He constantly reminded me that he was the property owner and could do whatever he wanted with his property including entering the property whenever he wanted to. He stole my trash repeatedly, refused to make repairs in a timely manner, and met me with disbelief every time I reported a problem. He was awful reporting false accusations to housing, threatening me because of what other tenants did, even went as far as threatening to kill himself because he had all these properties that no one was helping him with. He has postponed out court date 3 times, but this time we are scheduled to go to court this year 2024. I just want him to know that some people know their rights and that although I am not rich like he is I can still fight back for my civil rights. He returned my security deposit in full, and after almost 17 years the place was still in great condition. In fact a new tenant moved in a month later.
If he stole your trash repeatedly I hope you get the entire value of what he stole. And he gave you back your deposit after 17 years! Horrific landlord!!
See that’s the thing. You don’t own the property! The son can do what he wants. If I were him I would just raise the rent on you. It’s America, if you don’t like it….move!
If you do not like landlord, property not get repaired-move. He stole trash?-what? He has right to raise rent as long as your contract is over and he gives you notice, he can raise rent. And no he doesn’t have to kick you out to raise rent 😵💫.

The demeanor of the plaintiff- explaining everything like she has something to prove
You can tall by her entire speech about the landlord when she started to talk she is clearly one of the worst tenants ever. She came off as she thinks shes better then everyone around her. She should be saying thank you to the tax payers for being able to purchase her new home because we paid her rent while she was using government funds.
Landlords complain about tenants but they will never tell how many people they have ripped off with false repair claims.
Since all you renters got away during COVID by pretending to not be able to pay rent. To screw landlords. Everybody is even
The plaintiff is loud, rude and the actual disrespect person. With all her heavy breathing and name calling. I could tell, she's the aggressive one.
How she talks
It is obvious she is not too bright
If over-sharing were a person, its name would be *”Ivory”.* 😂
Plaintiff wins then complains that she didn't win enough because other people might have paid instead of going to court 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
More handouts...
What do you expect? She's used to all these government handouts
@@notkirill6991 are you mad because she live there for one year, put down a $2500 deposit and then went on to buy her own house? Sounds like that’s a government program that worked. And even rich people take government handouts.
Landlords get abused by lawmakers in America. Renters are allowed to squat while the landlords risk losing their homes if they don’t continue to make their payments to the bank? Ridiculous
If landlords were losing their anywhere near the rate way hard-working tenants are being evicted right now, we would not be able to avoid hearing about it.
Hard working tenants? Oxymoron.
I wonder how many times the plaintiff rehearsed that first part in front of the mirror? You can tell it was.
Plaintiff does not get it at all, the landlord can tell you what to do in keeping clean and keep the noise level down and how much company you can have as a tenant. Apparently, she has never had a parent telling her what to do all her sorry life. Time for her to grow up.
I think one is entitled to interest on security held by landlord
See that’s the thing. You don’t own the property! The son can do what he wants. If I were him I would just raise the rent on you. It’s America, if you don’t like it….move!
If you do not like landlord, property not get repaired-move. He stole trash?-what? He has right to raise rent as long as your contract is over and he gives you notice, he can raise rent. And no he doesn’t have to kick you out to raise rent 😵💫.
YES MOVE! YOU DO NOT OWN IT!

The plaintiff said a whole lotta of nothing
omg this plaintiff is EXHAUSTING!!!!!!!!
Everybody bashing the tenant but had she not sued, the plaintiff would be out about $1,000.00.
The judge threw her a bone. Real court would have ruled for the landlord
Out 1000$? I thought she was on section 8 lol they help with the deposit😂 she probably made a profit from this
@@shrimpstick129they actually don't. I personally was on section 8 when @ 20 when my mother died of cancer and I had no one. A counselor came out to help me fill everything out and get the housing voucher. There might be programs that provide the sec deposit but section doesn't. Luckily cancer centers of America sent me a check for the deposit.

The first 7 minutes of the plaintiffs ranting has me seeing butterflies! I have no idea what this case is about 😆🤷🏾♀️
Washing laminate floors with water, then air drying will DESTROY laminate & WOOD floors
The plaintiff seems annoying , but I believe the defendant was trying to get over on her
Me too
I swear the speech the Plaintiff started out with sounds like a rehearsed speech someone would give in high school for a mock debate in which the plot was completely lost.
Congratulations to the plantiff for getting off of section 8 and purchasing a home.
Not to sound like a butt. But section 8 helps people buy homes and still pay a portion of there mortgage. People just don't talk about trying to make it seem like they are doing so much better. When everyone else has to struggle to make ish happen.
@@victoriaharley-1836 that could be the case or she could be off of section 8. Anyone could fall on hard times. Cudos to anyone who has struggled and pulled themselves out of that situation.
@@victoriaharley-1836Can tell your privileged. Let's hope you never fall on hard times.
@@victoriaharley-1836 it actually depends on the state. Some states have a home buyers program and once you purchase your home, they don't help pay. Some help with the mortgage for a small period of time
Well if she would have turned up her hearing aid, then she would have heard that she's no longer on section 8.@LivingforJesusaGodisGood74
If she didn’t tell the landlord about floor damage when she noticed it, why is the landlord responsible????
Your tax dollars hard at work. 🇺🇸
It’s sad. There’s a subculture of people who are takers.
The the plaintiff's voice and deminure is just going right through me like nails on a chalkboard
I’m surprised the Judge let the Plaintiff go on and on without stating a single legitimate complaint.
I also don’t understand how someone receiving Section 8 can afford to PURCHASE a home.
By working, saving money, getting into a first time homebuyers program which will give you a great mortgage deal.
Well, shouldn't you be saying the same thing about the husband that was whispering in the defendant's ear, telling her what to say?. Another judge would've told him to sit down.
Section 8 is temporary for most. Several people that once received government aid can now purchase a home. Just because you are on section 8 doesn’t mean you don’t know how to manage money, save and do your research.
I’m 2 minutes in and I’m already annoyed. I can’t watch no more of this. 😂😂😂
I’ve listened to the plaintiff for 1 minute, and she has drama queen written all over her! The landlord should have done a better job of vetting her.
Ppl se themselves quite easily
Those people always show their true colours evenly!
Which people are you talking about? Landlords or tenants and what true colours did they show, green, purple orange?
I'm so proud of the plaintiff, using the voucher as a stepping stone.
Exactly 💯😊

Section 8 helps buy a home and pay a portion of your mortgage.
@@victoriaharley-1836You're leaving that under every comment.
@justinloveday2410 Girl, stop replying to my comments and get you a life. It's giving triggered.
If the rent payments weren't so steady no landlord would even deal with Section 8.
Well that was an annoying start to the case. Glad she won something back because I have a sense that the defendant acted exactly as the plaintiff said she did, and it was obvious that she kept too much of the deposit.
I agree.
And then told her she had to pay 3700 more. Insane. I feel like she preys on tenants who (she thinks) do not know their rights
Finally someone who sees it the way I do.
Section 8 recipient ....that tells me everything I need to know.
This is why I would NEVER be a landlord!! My luck I'd end up with the plaintiff!! This plantiff wouldn't be happy if she'd been awarded the ENTIRE amount!!
give the 1000 to the taxpayers
This happens when people feel they are entitled. We know who to blame these days
I have a property manager just like the defendant. I’m waiting for my leaking fridge to get fixed from August 22nd.

The plaintiff is a piece of work! She goes around the block to across the street to tell a story. Dang! She loves to hear herself talk, focus and get to the point…
She definitely has complaints on the website
High-end section 8 housing? I knew a woman with 2 kids in a section 8 5 bedroom house with a pool and hot tub. Then bitched when the landlord wouldn't pay for pool and hot tub maintenance 😅
The plaintiff's main problem is that she was trying too hard to make herself look & sound intelligent, of which she failed miserably when she couldn't pronounce the word "Thaw/Thawed. As soon as I heard the plaintiff's opening statement which had absolutely nothing to do with the case or the judge's question, I just shook my head. She went on a likewise incoherent rant again when speaking with Doug at the end of the show. LOL

The plaintiff: well..... Let me start from the beginning I first woke up and decided to thank God but here's the thing sometimes when it rains I believe that it's a sign that I need to take things to a higher power, God is good but then as I decided to put on my clothes...........

This ought to be a warning. If you surround yourself with and only listen to people who think like you, you too might go on national tv (TH-cam) and make a fool of yourself.
She’s the landlord so she is higher authority.
Your landlord is a higher authority. You’re subjected to their rules (of course within the law) but the plaintiffs monologue was completely unnecessary. The entitlement of people living on section 8 is incredible.
I’ve lived in nothing but apartments and I’ve never had a landlord that was all in my business people on section 8 are still people ya’ll act like they aren’t and their just bottom feeders she was paying $900 which is a good amount of rent
@@Damnitshayits a rare gem when you find someone on section 8 that respect themselves and the property they are renting. I know it isnt fair to stereotype, but stereotypes come from the truth. @m2161 Not all Section 8 tenants are bad, and not all landlords are good. Stop stereotyping people.
A landlord is a property manager. They have no business calling agencies to file false claims without evidence. If she felt the tenant wasn't abiding by the lease, then evict her.
I agree. Some section 8 people are full of themselves and very entitled and all the while everyone else is having to pay our own rent like adults should but taxpayers are paying for part of most of section 8 rent and then they go gap their legs open and spit out babies that will grow up to be unproductive members of society and these parasites know the fathers are frequent deadbeats. Everyone should be responsible for themselves and not be dependent on others. Help should go to people who truly need it and didn't cause their own problems.
Oh my gosh!!! The plaintiff is sooo annoying and just awful.
Section 8? This kinda crap is why we’re over 34 trillion in debt. House yourself and your children. It’s not our job.
I understand your frustration. The top 50% earners pay 98% of all fed taxes. The bottom 50% earners pays 2% of fed taxes. We effed up and grew the federal gov't too big. Thomas Jefferson warned us about it in writing "A gov't large enough to provide you with everything you need is large enough to take everything you own". 😒
That plaintiff came off as trying to be a saint. 😂
Plaintiff is childish and annoying
I just love when people complain how bad and unlivable the place is/was and how mean the landlord is but they still continue to stay living there 2+ years like people, put a cork in yo mouth. Obviously it’s not as bad as you make it seem since you continue to live there.
