I wonder how 'different personalities' translates to placing your child into care. She was eight years old at the time, right? So, how can a child's personality clash with her mother enough for this mother to abandon her to the system? Depending upon the foster parents she was placed with or how many times she was uprooted to go from one foster family to another, that could be extremely traumatic for any child.
I wonder if the other daughter was placed in foster care or if it was just the defendant? Seems like the plaintiff is the sort of parent to have a favourite/golden child.
The fact that the other child tried to attribute/diminish the estranged relationship to “different personalities” when in fact the mom GAVE HER CHILD AWAY is WILDDDDD! Call it what it is!

Sue me? Mine made me pay every PENNY ever owed her. Gas expense. Sales tax. She forwarded money for my dryer delivery before ATMs existed and I would get the money Saturday when I could get to the bank. She came pounding on my door at 6AM wanting her money that Saturday. So yes parents sue and I would sue mine too.

She's a narcissist
This case is my worst nightmare. I have two daughters myself and I can’t imagine sewing anyone of them let alone putting in foster care at 8 years old. This is crazy and the mother is standing there as if she has all right to be there. Just take a loss on the money! But also where is your mother/daughter emotional support for your child??? To be in the same country and not contact your daughter at all, just shows that her mother is unfortunately unattached to her child.😢 As a parent of any age children whether their young or grown you just want to see them win in life. Her just standing across from her own daughter and laser focus on money from three years ago is very disturbing to me, very sad case from all aspects!!

She owes the money- parent or not. No excuses. If she had issues in being in foster care than DO NOT TAKE MONEY FROM HER.

I don't know the story but I think that the Plantiff may be wrong to sue her daughter, just because she's closer to the other one. She could cut her losses and move on and dont loan her anything else - but to take her to court?? Unecessary. I don’t understand a mother or father who would sue a child over one of two loans!

Never loan money that you have to sue to get back. Daughter lost her car by not paying the bill… let the daughter handle her financial situation. You can’t make anyone pay you back. Don’t loan money, give money if you can afford it and forget about it.

This is a mean woman, travelled from Denmark to sue her daughter who she had put in foster care at 8 years old. Ppl like these shouldn’t have children. The daughter should pay her and have nothing to do with her after. Young lady you do not have a mother.

If I have the money to let someone borrow, I would give it to my kids.And if they start to think I am a cash cow after the first time, I wouldnt give them a dime and instead guide them to food banks, and indeed job applications, FAFSA help to get into a program at college, etc. I was raised where parents gift money not sue for it after. Then, if lifestyle doesnt change, I have seen information gifted vs funds.

Why the daughter broke?
It is sad and really bad for their relationship. My mother sued my brother years ago and they never recovered. My mother passed and my brother was very sad that they never made amends. Its not a good idea to sue ur kids or ur parents. It leaves bad feelings that r regretful later.

Interesting that the case was dismissed. Other judges will say each time the loan is mentioned, the debt is acknowledged & an agreement is re established then that's when the 2yr period begin again

I think judgment was wrong. The daughter still should be responsible for paying back the loan. The daughter dragged out the time and refused to give any payment. The daughter had no intention of paying her mom back. The daughter is angry and hurt because of her past history with her mom, she is trying to get back at her.
So in your opinion, this dead beat mother should have no consequences for the trauma she's inflicted on her child and gets to run off to another country so the taxpayers have to do it instead?
If they weren't family, I would agree with you. But obviously this Mother thinks she can just discard her own children when they aren't convenient and not have to pay for their living expenses or anything.
Context is everything and this specific situation looks like a narcissistic mother who is maliciously trying to use the courts to get back at the child she abandoned.

She would have won. Judy was on her side until she disrespected her request to cut out unnecessary information. Cousins and other siblings don't have anything to do with it.

Judy awarded a Narc who used money to get her dopamine fix forgiving herself for abandoning her child.
Her daughter's unprocessed trauma had her behave incorrectly and she shouldn't be rewarded either for bringing that baggage, uninvited.
She even said this didn't need to go to LIVE court but it did. A small claims court wouldn't take anything past the statute of limitations, but Judy is easy to annoy and that you still get an appearance fee, so both get something back and the daughter thinks it's her time to expose her mom.
They both got what they wanted.
